In another thread I mentioned I was thinking about getting internet tv so I can watch french tv so I can get a better grasp of the language. Some of the other members showed some intrest so I thought I would post it in here. There are many out there usually around $40. But there was one I found that's around $70 but it comes with a month free trial. It's called http://www.tvonpcelite.com/index.htm tv on pc elite get it? lol There is a free one called http://beelinetv.com but it is VERY limited.

I got the tvonpcelite and it's not bad. I couldn't get much tv in France except a lot of news. Considering it's after 4pm here which means it's past 11pm there. France is having a huge snow storm right now. Lots of road accidents and the like. It showed people trying to get home from work.

for that kind of price you can get Canal Satellite in HighDef, so I think that sattelite would be a better option... see:

CanalSat really isn´t too pricey but remember that you need satellite that you have direct line from your house. 99.9% Eurosatellites aren´t in range of Americans due to shape of Earth (it's kinda round... bit like ball you know).

Only chance to get French CanalSat to America is to find satellite over Atlantic ocean that carries the feed of French CanalSat. I know none. But good luck hunting.

Only satellite I know that carries French CanalSat is Astra 1G. If you can see it, then you can have it´s channels, too. It´s visibility and signal strenghts:
