As we all know that Micheal Jackson is credited as "King of POP" and one thing we know from him is "His Beautiful Dance steps especially the Moon walk......", i observed that when MJ performs any concert(live).
the fan's watching him, tear will be seen on they eye's.... some of them will be falling down the floor and some of them will be amazed. in the same manner Madonna is credited as "Queen of POP".
my question is
1. Did any one felt tear's on their eye's or fallen down when alizee performed a live concert?
2. MJ and Madonna are the well know Artist's and everybody knows them, their name has a big fame.. but Alizee has such a fame around the world? or Everybody in the world know's Alizee well?
3. Will Alizee be the Next Queen of POP? (in the future).:)

Next Queen of POP? as much as i want to yes (YEA OF COURSE :p), i must be realistic in my thinking, and i'm afraid that unless she achieves a much greater status around all of the world in addition to the US, i dont see it happening unfortunately... but you never know, its better to positive :p so yes!!! :D

Queen of pop? Why does there have to be a monarchy? That's surely both un-French and un-American. Vive l'république!
Seriously, I have a feeling that the new album will be a huge success and will show a side of Alizée that's been downplayed in the past, but the only sense in which she could be called by that title is if the media ghouls fixate on it. Personally, I couldn't care less. I wish her success, both artistic and financial. That's enough.

They say that opprotunity knocks once. Alizee had the chance to make it in America. For some reason Mylene made the decision not to do so.
We can make the arguement about America turning our noses up at french singers. But, as it has been proven before, it's all in how you promote it.

In agreement with Deepwaters tho, i wish her success artistically (and financially)

it is quite possible for her to be a queen of pop then again saying queen of pop like deepwater said is monarchy and well i belive monarchy died long ago in some civilizations and i wish her to be happy with her life in any way possible for her.

Keep in mind that at the time of Alizée's rise we American's were a bit hostile toward "French" things. Things have calmed a bit, but there is still some undercurrents of hostility.

WTB punctuation pst.
On topic: No, she will not be the next queen of pop. I love her and all, but she's gotta do way more to reach that level. And she already said she didn't want to live like that.

I'm going to have to say no, she doesn't have that reach that Madonna or MJ have. I love her music and everything, but I doubt she'll be on such a worldwide scale, especially here in the US.
I'm not really interested in Michael Jackson, and Madonna is doing more of other things, like raising her children.
Regardless of whether both the French State and America are republics, Alizée is for me personally, the best. Whether she makes the world title of Queen of Pop, she will always be number one in my personal opinion.
I really don't have much feeling for American music anymore, but maybe for a few songs, and not necessarily by a specific group or individual singer. If I hear a song and like it, that's all.
America has made far too much of the Idol show and other then Kelly Clarkson, who has made a world-wide tour and sold millions of albums, I really don't find anyone else from that show to impress me much.
Everyone today should be aware of how corrupt a lot of the music business has become over the years and how the actual artists have been given contracts that afford them very little success. They either choose to sign and take their chances or not sign and wait for possibly something better to come along. If they sign, the record company has a specific statement in the contract that makes the artist "artist for hire", which means that the artist(s) sign away their royalty rights to their music to the record company. Courtney Love had a very informative article about this that I read the other day.
Hopefully in France, Alizée has done things that are smarter and that will protect her money from the greed that exists.

They say that opportunity knocks once. Alizee had the chance to make it in America. For some reason Mylene made the decision not to do so.I'm not even sure if it was Mylene's decision not to promote Alizee here in the US. In fact, I'm sure that the idea of it has crossed Mylene's mind, and she would have at least tried to make it a reality if she could. It could have been Alizee herself who wanted to stay away form the American market; after all, she was once asked about it in an interview and answered by comparing herself to Britney and how she jumps between different corners of the world on a daily basis and how that kind of lifestyle is just not for her. Or it could have been Polydor/Universal who did not want to promote Alizee here.
And when it comes to Alizee, I don't agree with the "opportunity knocks once" comment and I don't think that Alizee has blown her chance to make it here just yet. Musicians have their highs and lows, and that gives them plenty of second chances. So what if her first two albums are pretty much unknown here? She has a third one on the way and if it drives her back to the top of the charts in Europe, it just might generate enough buzz for her to get noticed here.
We can make an argument about America turning our noses up at French singers. But, as it has been proven before, it's all in how you promote it.In my opinion, this exactly is the problem with the American music industry. They keep promoting the artists of their choice (most of whom suck), and the public falls for it. If the promotion machine says that a certain artist is the next best thing, they buy into it and think the same thing too.
Surely, we can organize a collective effort and convince some marketing executives at a major US-based record label about how great Alizee is and get them to promote her all over the media. The next thing you know is that Alizee will be all over radio, TV, magazines and the Internet and her album sales will go through the roof. But what's the fun in that? Personally, I'd rather see the American public like Alizee for her music and for the kind of person that she is, not because some promoters say so.

It’s hard to say why Alizée didn’t want to come to the USA other than the reasons she gave, and that’s probably all there is to it. It’s possible she may have also seen the USA as a strange, huge and intimidating place where failure was a possibility. Maybe her managers helped to put negative ideas in her head for fear of loosing control of her or maybe they were genuinely concerned for her well-being.
I personally think Alizée can handle the USA just fine if she wants to. Who knows how successful she can be here. With 300 million people in this market though, not counting Canada and Mexico, she only has to win over a small percentage of people to still sell quite a few CD’s. Many others have come to the USA and been successful.
The American music industry has gotten in the habit of putting out a lot of cookie-cutter music and it’s time for something new and different. Promotion starts with how well Alizée promotes herself and her image to the American music industry. She has to win over the gate keepers first, with little or no compromising on her part. I’m sure she’s tough enough to just walk away if she has to. Once (or if) the American music industry starts promoting her to the public the way she wants it done, she might just have it made.
I’d like to see her give it a shot, but only if it’s what she wants. First things first, though. We'll have to see how her new CD goes over in France and Europe.

Queen of Pop? Hellz no.
She doesn't even sing pop music! Besides... her sales need to increase by a significant amount if anything like that's to happen. Though she does, in my opinion, basically personify the term "lolita" as best as anyone else will.

Maybe a long time ago it would have been possible, Moi... Lolita achieved national fame and everything according to all the interviews I've seen with her. But now she has somewhat faded. :(

Heck, I think that the only reason the press still pays attention to her is due to her lolita days. Nearly all of the videos of her in news and stuff mention or refer to lolita.

I was thinking the exact same thing, they always have to play it in the interviews, ask about the song, etc. I wonder if it gets on her nerves? She's obviously trying to separate herself from that image but it keeps coming back to haunt her! :p

Guys, keep in mind this thread is from 2007 (pre-Psych). Back then, we still had hope for her. Now, obviously, the topic seems silly in hindsight.

I have been making my opinion widely known among the various posts I have made since discovering Alizée on Youtube watching the current Queen of Pop and got a crosslink to LIB. I have been a steadfast Madonna fan of 28 years, and the only other time of my life when I saw this degree of talent in a performer was when I saw Madonna on the MTV in 1982. And now since learning more of Alizée and hearing all of her music I say Alizée is even a greater talent than Madonna. Why she chose to stay away from US in the past do not matter. She is gaining popularity in FL, TX, Cali daily. Not if but when she gains more USA status she is destined to be the next Queen of Pop. Whether Alizée chooses to pursue this destiny is her decision alone, however Alizée has the talent to spare to be the future Queen of Pop. I stand to make this statement. And I have seen a lot. Alizée is the greatest recording artist in the entire history of rock and pop.
As we all know that Micheal Jackson is credited as "King of POP" and one thing we know from him is "His Beautiful Dance steps especially the Moon walk......", i observed that when MJ performs any concert(live).

As far as I am concerned, Alizée is already the Queen of Pop.
Everyone else thinking they already hold this title, can piss off as far as I am concerned.

Very enthusiastic fans. I don't see any reason to take that away from them. If there's on thing I've learned from Colin Powell it's "ya don't curb enthusiasm"
