Depends what you want to use it for, but that's not too bad. Some people consider around 750k to be the limit. Nice moment you captured too there, good job. :)

I use Macromedia Fireworks v8... and am probably doing it the hard way. You know... manually placing each frame....

I have a friend that has a program that will convert videos to .gifs very easily, but I never bothered to ask her what it's called and she on vacation right now. I'll find out more about it when she's back assuming nobody else posts a good program to use.

Imageready is a good gif making program. It comes with most versions of Photoshop too.

AVD video processor -- good soft to take frame and make gif from video
go alone , work alone
Imageready - Very good soft to make gif , but can it make gif from video , nope , it needs another soft to take picture from video
easy gif animator -- good soft to join image to gif file, if you have problem with image ready , this is the best choice , i thihnk it's better.
virtual dub -- good soft to take frame from video
these soft should go together.

and ofcourse that cost a lot http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/6352/1776mx5.gif

Newer versions of Imageready will extract frames from certain video formats, though it can be picky about codec compatibility

if you dont want to buy all , pm me http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/3359/006mt8.gif , But that not good for you :D

i use CS2 ( is this the latest version ) and ...... only quicktime and file raw, i dont know does it support anohter format , but now vob, mpg, avi,wmv... cannot read .

If you want to make a gif with alot different image inside it , and want to capture them easily from vid , try Image Grabber II ( free ) work good with all format vid . ( i didnt use this one to make the gif like my gif above , because this soft cant take more than 1 frame /second )

AVD Video processor is not bad, the trick is to get the images from different video formats, which avd video processor cant (it opens just a few formats) and of top of that i think it just get 10 frames per second so it will result in a not so good gif, i created one first converting the format from m2v to avi, then open the modified video with virtual dub, get the frames (it get all the frames per second), then import them to avd video processor or gif animator to create the gif (you cand add some nice effects if you want;) ) ... Well that is how it worked for me if there is a easier way to do it plz post, thanks in advance . .

that's what i did vctralca :) , virtual dub and easy gif , i want to throw virutual dub because it cant read mpg2 , vob , anything else though i setup k-lite code pack .

there are alot of soft better to make gif and take frame, but i'm not pro , so i choose the easy way to do :) , let me check another soft and try it, then i will tell you ^^.

Hi ppl!

I'm newbie here but I wanna tell my opinion too. :)

I use "video avatar" at geovid.

This tool can make animated gif from video files (support avi, mpeg etc..).

It has one minus - it costs. But for me it's perfect variant bcoz it's easy and work with many video formats.... ;)

I don't have the slightest idea on how to create a gif, but one of my favorite Angel moments happens in this YouTube video.

The interviewer initiates the sequence with a question that starts at about 2:09, it cuts to Alizée at about 2:17 to 2:28. Trop, trop précieux! Too, too precious!!

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/GAKUzNV7wc0&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/GAKUzNV7wc0&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Love how she just rolls with it. Totally boss.

Though, her getting hit on the head with the towel at the end of Youpidou still ranks number 1.
