Hate to keep steal'n stuff from the AFC, but Païnoc there found another cover of Moi-thesongthatwouldntdie-Lolita on YouTube, this one from some Polish American Idol type show:

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/iyrFhA3UUOA"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/iyrFhA3UUOA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

She looks nice and all, but that singing, the remix... eh, I think I actually liked Julien's version better!

Meh... her voice isn't horrid... but its not the best cover i've seen by far...
also i think her voice is way to soft to sing such a strong song... my opinion

Nobody is able to sing low enough to match the octave Alizée sings at, yet they still try. This results in an absolutely horrible result. Leave the challenging songs to the talented singers!

Is it wrong to feel happy that people fail trying to sing Lili's songs? :)

They make her look that much better hehe.

Ugh... hate to be all negative and suff, but I couldn't get all of the way through that one. As we probably already agree, trying to live up to Alizée's standard, esp. on her own songs, is an exercise in futility but, ugh...

I think the thing that people that try to cover Moi...Lolita keep missing (esp. female performers) is that they try too hard to be sexy and seductive with their voice which is completely unnecessery, IMO. Granted, I haven't read Lolita, but it's been my impression that the seduction isn't something that is supposed to be so overt, rather more an effect of her youth and inherent sexuality. Alizée's natural sexiness has always been more than enough to carry that level of seduction. On the other hand, when these other girls try it, they just end up emphasizing what Alizée has naturally that they just don't.

Also, is this supposed to be a translated version of the song? If not, my French pronunciation (http://moi-alizee.us/forums/showthread.php?t=1101)* (shameless plug:p) isn't exactly perfect, but that is just innexcusable (if it is supposed to be French after all).

Finally, she just doesn't have the pipes. To me, she sounds rather like a child half her size. Yeah, this one just doesn't fly with me.

Not in my book. :p

I think it's like half-French, half-Polish.

Well, at least this cover is done by a female! :D
Somehow I never could get over the fact that Julien was singing a song that is clearly written for a female to sing.

yeah, Lili's range makes this song extremely hard for someone to duplicate, unless they change the style of the song completely.

Just shows you how unique her voice is when watching all of these covers.
