I know this is off-topic, but not that off-topic because a better display will render you the ability to view Alizee with a higher clarity.

I personally use a Dell 2007FPW 20.1" widescreen LCD, but it was returned today due to various reasons. So I'm back using the 17" Sony Trinitron until I can get a replacement widescreen display. I was thinking it'd be either the ViewSonic VX2025wm or the Samsung 215tw.

Oh yeah what do you guys use?

Samsung SyncMaster 213T (21" LCD). With a screen of that size, I prefer high-quality versions of Alizee videos (the ones that are 200+ MB in size). The low-quality ones are simply unbearable to watch on a screen like that.

Nice. That is all well. It was one of the best displays for it's day, a really high 1600x1200. And correct me if I'm wrong, but it's too bad your display doesn't have 1:1 aspect option. those low-quality vids would be a little bit easier on the eyes that way/

as i suspected from your calenders, Brad.
Very Nice!

you have em' at 1920x1200, the resolution of your Dell 2405FPW.
it was either that, or that Apple Cinema display or that Samsung something.

that's perfect for me, as the Dell i had is a S-IPS 1680x1050 Dell 2007FPW, i coulda just resized it

but the 2405FPW is indeed a fine unit.
you don't need to feel bad about the 2407FPW, they're not that much better and the early models had color banding issues.

here's my Dell

I can still just do the actual size in media player, it accomplishes the same effect.

By the way, I just wanted to caution everyone who is thinking of buying an LCD display and/or video card in the near future. If you want to eventually be able to watch HD-DVD or Blue-Ray discs, make sure that both support HDCP protection. The content of commercial discs will not play otherwise. I'll probably have to get a different monitor once the format war is over and these drives fall down in price (well, unless someone finds a way to decrypt these discs :) ).

Indeed Pirate. about the HDCP, if you're running HDCP protected content (like the blu-ray and hd-dvd are rumored to have) over non HDCP compliant equipment, i hear it will still run, but at half-resolution. now whats the point of high-definition if its half the resolution.

Some LCD's are HDCP-compliant, like the new higher-end Dells.

the new HDCP compliant video cards are slated to roll out around the time when windows Vista and dx10 pop out.

ps if a video card states right now thats its hdcp capable, it still can't run hdcp content.

Widescreen is better, absolutely! I use an Apple 23" High Definition cinema display Widescreen at 1920 x 1200 resolution. This monitor works flawlessly with Windows and with Nvidia video cards. Its a beautiful monitor.

Some people think you got to have a Macintosh computer to use this monitor, not so.

I used to have a 23 inch Widescreen by Viewsonic, it worked flawlessly until i punched it one day with my fist in a fit of rage. I was playing World of Warcraft and my screen went black, i could hear my character dying, nothing I could do, i got so pissed i smacked the screen hard, instant spiderweb with a quarter sized dent in middle of screen.

$1,200 shot So I bought this Apple monitor to replace it. Here is a link to the best Widescreen gaming community on the internet...

What about the other two brands did you like more than others?

I'm just trying to make deal of two lil used 21" Sony's CRTs. Will be just decent set up. Dual screen at 2048x1536 resolution each. And image quality beats hell outta these crappy LCDs on the markets.

3 of them would be nice too but simply takes too much room. Two would fit somehow on my desk.

No, though my name sounds similar, it has nothing to do with Acer's computers :p

Nice monitor.

Thanks. I will be getting my first wide format monitor and am very concerned about clarity.

Sony makes good CRT monitors. I have a dual 20" screen setup at work (although not set has high as you are intending) and am very happy with them. I think mine would max out at 1600x1200 if I pushed them that high.

I do have a 20" CRT in my basement, but it's blurry and makes a really high-pitched noise when it's on that is deathly annoying. So I'll stick with my LCD :p

really espire? I recently just got into the audio stuff. I got a job washing dishes with the prime goal of buying some nice-sounding stuff (and Alizée stuff). In fact, I bought my friend for his birthday a pair of Beyerdynamic DT-770s. he said he wanted a closed phones and good bass. was good choice?

Actually, I meant the thread was my turf, but http://www.headphonereviews.org seems to feel that they're great phones with excellent bass, but one could get something better for the price.
