Hey, "take it easy on yourself"..... I happen to think your a very intelligent person (& "Hot") from your posts. Just because you don't know something doesn't make you dumb, it makes you more intelligent for wanting to know more. Anyways I have the first one on my Firefox browser (Download helper), and it's an add on. What you need to do first is download Firefox (browser) if you don't have it allready, than just go to add ons on your Firefox and look for Download Helper. Click on 'Install Now' and Firefox will add this feature, also you can add more features if you like. Once it's done, go to YouTube or any other site with videos, like Alizée America. Play the video you want, and then just click on a download arrow next to a little new icon you have on top of Firefox browser that moves whenever you play videos. Select one of the files displayed and you'll get a window option where you can rename the file and select it's download destination. ;) :)

most sites and programs rquire som computer advanced knowldege like changing the file extension if you download from sites

click next till istallation is finished

Try that site it is very easy. Sometimes it goes down but mostly it works. Just make sure the url say http://www.youtube.com and not ie.youtube.com or uk.youtube.com etc.

from what you said you need codecs plus what is ConvertConnect? :confused:
use this divX codec download from official site http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/download/index.php
click free download from at the bottom of the page
then install on your computer (click on the file and click next all the way) restart if it requires then play your file.
if still it doesn't work then either you you made something or you need another type of codec so we'll take it from there

but my mcafee says that it has many virus in there! i have surf the net and the indicator of some site is X! the good site is check! so i dont have an idea what would i choose now!

Rocket, you can't just leave. you have to make it work by any mean necessary
and i think this is the means for now but if it doesn't work then it is like we were cycling the wrong bridge
download and install this codec and it will play you video. It may be a little blur but there is a solution for that too.

Sorry we weren't able to help you Rocket (yet). I wish I was living in your area, I would run to you and fulfill your every need. Unfortunately even if I lived next door, I might not be any help since I'm not an expert on Pcs, I'm a Mac person (Apple computers). From what you've decribed (getting sound only, not video), it sounds like maybe you do need to instal the codec files. Here's a link to an explanation of what that is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codec, and also here's a link to downloadable codec files http://www.codecs.com/. Maybe someone can tell you which is better for your Pc (unfortunately not all are free). In the meanwhile, anything you want just tell us and we'll download it, convert it and upload it for you unto a file sharing site, where you can easily download it from. Unless of course it's something private you want, like videos from the chippendales, etc... :D (jk)

my point is, youtube considers it illegal to use these tools, becuase technically the people who host the videos should own them, thats why so many movie clips or clips of SNL are removed,

ok dont worry, here is a easiest way to download the vidoes songs from different videos sites.... what u all to do is just follow the steps below

steps:

1. First you have to do is, open a new internet explorer and type in the address bar as www.clipnabber.com

2. copy the the vidoe address of any website, for example youtube, google, metacafe, daily motions etc....
ex:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7y8GC3DW4Y

3. Paste the copied address to the clipnabber site where the option paste URL is avaiable in that site...

4. And choose the corresponding video site the you have copied from and select the option for example youtube, google, metacafe, daily motions etc....

5. click the nab video button in the clipnabber...

6. Download link will be displayed in the clipnabber website, click the download link...

7. it will be asking for save, save the file to your own location you wish ex: c:\dowloaded videos\(your option) the save file will be in the .FLV format(no need of changing the extension)....

8. Download the FLV player from any websites..... if you have already no need to download...

9. open the FLV player and select the file where you have saved the video...
10. Enjoy the video:)!

yeah u can convert .FLV to any other format, if u have SUPER@ video convertor, if you have this software... you can convert to any other format as you required say .mp3, .avi, .vob, .wmv, .mp4... as your wish.... some of the most commonly used output formats is available in that SUPER@ software... enjoy!

Hmmmm... I'm late getting to this thread but I use Total Video Converter to convert flv files to mpeg. I'm using a free trial version so there is a water color mark on any video I make if I use that converter, but I just got it for fun anyway.. I won't buy it.

I can download any video at YouTube simply by using that add on that someone mentioned in this thread, the FireFox addon. I just one-click and it starts downloading to my computer.

When it arrives at my computer it is in FLV format. So, I just use the total video converter to change it to MPEG. I just drag and drop the file and it changes before my eyes

Also, why not give yourself more options by downloading other players like the VLC media player for Windows. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ or Quicktime for Windows http://cws.internet.com/file/11743.htm I think maybe you want to keep your videos organized, so then why don't you download Apple's itunes? It's available for Windows now. http://www.download.com/3000-2141_4-10717903.html :) Better yet, why don't you just download GetMiro. It plays any format and downloads from many channels including YouTube. You won't have to go to any of the sites, you can access their content thru the media player provided by GetMiro, and you can play in full screen (quality depends on the uploads). http://www.getmiro.com/download/ ;)

Rocket either one of the first three are the newer version, the others are older versions. However, I noticed something I didn't see last time.... There is a section that says that this is a demo and it has some limits, purchase of the program is required to not have limits. So download it and give it a try (hopefully not to many limits), and if you like it but don't want to spend the money, I'll buy it for you and me (and others). :) Anything to help a lady in distress.... ;)

Why you people talk about buying can't you people just crack it or something?
And I have been downloading from you tube and other sites using "dowloader helper" and "media pirate" and I have had no problems.
I am not an American so I don't know about piracy laws there I just wanted to know about this.
One more thing I have been downloading vdos from this site using downloader helper from the window they are played. Is this also illegal.
I have only joined this forum any help will be appreciated.
XVID is freeware DIVX spelled backwards its almost same k-lite codecs are also freeware with them you can play any kind of vdo in wmp(I suppose).
