That Avril Lavigne song is kind of a shock. I have heard the English version so much that when the French started my brain was like "huh?" Why is only a small part of the song French?

Where is Avril Lavigne from?

I like the Timbaland with the French. It is very beautiful sounding.

It really is quite surprising, but look at her name. It directly translates from French into "April Vinyard" or the like, she's only anglicized the name in sound. She was born and grew up in Quebec. However, Girlfriend has been translated into a plethora of different languages, all sung by Avril herself. Even Mandarin, which she spent weeks learning.

See what the newspaper does to a person? I haven't even listened to the English version.

shes from Canada but she didn't grow up knowing French and I believe she was born and raised in the English speaking part of Canada. also this song was released in like 8 different languages but just like this one only 30% translated

Holy crap, that Indian Thriller should never have been put to film.

Sometimes I have the standard fantasy about going back in time, to the eighties, say. Then I think, "Blegh... No way, the commercials and the clothing would drive me insane." No smiley face emoticons here, I'm serious!

Oh, God, no! Once through the '80s was enough!

Nothing wrong with the 80's, being young and having no obligations. Not to mention some great 1-hit-wonder tunes! :p

But I digress from the OT...
