View Full Version : En Concert DVD (NOT AUDIO CD!)

I want to buy this DVD.
I looked on Amazon.com but could only find and Audio version. I went to Amazon.fr and found a DVD but wondered if its regional (meaning it won't play in my US CD player).
Does anyone know where I can get this DVD quickly? (Not Ebay, I don't want to get scammed!)

You can order one from French Amazon site (amazon.fr). I believe they will ship to the US. It will be somewhat costly, but it beats getting scammed on eBay, I hear that most of the copies available on there are compressed bootlegs.

4 -7 week for delivery!!! OMG I was hoping I could meet the dilivery guy half way from where ever he was coming from today!! LOL Just kidding.
Oh god forget the DVD can I just have her please?
Anyway I will contact (hopefully) someone at Amazon and see if its truely a DVD and regional free.

The two players that I know can do this are Philips DVP642 and Pioneer DV-588A-S (the one I actually have).

The eBay ad for the DVD I purchased said it comes with a full refund if not entirely satisfied. Hopefully I won't be getting one of these burned copies, but if it is, I'm requesting my money back.

Should be an error because I'm absolutely sure that many foreign fans in Alizée forums could watch it with no problem! Or maybe a new edition?

We talked about this in another thread...but basically it never arrived (got "lost" somewhere in the mail), so the seller is sending me another copy.
With three copies of the DVD right in front of me, I can safely say that Pirate515 is correct. Amazon's info is wrong, it's a Region Free PAL disc. If you don't have a PAL TV or DVD player, you can watch it on just about any DVD-ROM equipped computer. All of my copies only took about a week to arrive from amazon.fr as well. IMO, that's the best way to get it.
With your LCOS TV, you should be able to hook up between your PC and TV using a VGA cable. If you can afford a TV like yours, express order that puppy. I got mine in 3 to 4 days. You'll be waiting impatiently even with express, but man is it worth it. Any further needs, PM me.
P.S. The DVD is not 1080i if you were wondering, it's 800X600...still good!

OK, my DVD from eBay finally arrived...and you guys have me paranoid. I'm not sure if I should open it or not, because I can't tell if it's legit or just a really well-printed burned copy. Those of you who have real DVDs, what's the cover like? Mine looks slightly dull...not very glossy. The printing is good; it's just not as "shiny" as I'd have expected. Should I open it?

I just sent the e-mail, so I haven't heard back yet. His ad says "full refund if not 100% satisfied," so I hope there won't be a hassle.

So, even though I'm sending the burned-DVDs back, of course I had to watch them before I did that. And let me say, those of you watching the Google video owe it to yourselves to buy this. First of all, the sound quality is light years better than the Google rip. There's really no comparison. I actually thought Alizée sounded kind of bad in the Google version...and I couldn't understand why, since she sounds so good in the live clips Brad has posted here. But it's not Alizée, of course...it's the rip. So if you want to hear her sing well, watch the actual DVD.
Second, and more obvious...Alizée is a few feet tall on my TV. On the Google rip, she's about an inch tall. There's a BIG difference.
Trust me. Everyone owes it to themselves to get this DVD!
i orderd from amazon france...its almost the same...
if you have an account in the english one...it will work there...the address and paying method...but i knew lil french that helped me around the site:D

It plays on my Apex player but not on my Sony one, go figure. My Apex plays some other DVD's that I bought from Paris.

Most of them are region-free, can do PAL-to-NTSC conversion and are also capable of playing DivX/XviD files. Some other ones that can do the same are Philips DVP642 and Pioneer DV-588A-S (the one I have).
I also know of this site (http://www.videohelp.com) that has a great section on DVD players listing capabilities of each and also reviews and opinions of people who own and/or use them. If you are in the market for a new DVD player, this site is a great place to do your research.

I know amazon.fr is patterned after all the other amazon sites, so navigation isn't too difficult. But ... has anyone managed to find a way on the web to translate the site to another language "on the fly" ? I'd love to order the REAL DVD but I want to be sure I'm putting the right info in the correct forms and such ! :p
Same here. The english version of amazon shows the cover as DVD, but lists it as CD. I don't know if they are just using the DVD cover, or if in the translation CD means DVD. I have her two CD's coming from Best Buy which should be here any day.
Just order it from amazon.fr .
If you need any help in the ordering process, then just ask. It's very simple, tho. The language isn't problem.

He propably gives them away or sells to those who can't order online for some reason. He has done such things before, I believe. :)
But it's not uncommon... I have 2 copies of En Concert CD and 2 DVDs, too. :) But those are for collecting... They are slightly different versions (just the case... the discs are identical of course).
Recently, I bought some more En Concert CDs (they were 5 euros in amazon.fr couple months ago ), just to give them to my friends. That way I spread out her wonderful music (and show to amazon that they should carry her next album, too. ;) ).

I think it's depand on the person who handle your order. 'cas the picture and the description clearly said different thing.
Since now they don't have it in stock, when you order it, they'll have it ship to amazon warehouse in the US from France, maybe in container. Then thay ship it out to you via local carrier. I'll gonna place the order just to see if my theory is right, maybe by the tracking info. If it come in container from France, there might not have any tracking info. And we'll which one they ship me. lol

Security sticker ? In where exactly ? Could you take photo of it ?
European DVDs does not usually have such things. At least I can't remember any, and I have over 300 DVDs collection.
I have seen them in R1 releases only.

Oh wait, unless you mean just sticker that might have placed on top of the transparent plastic wrap.

Yeah, that's it. The sticker on the top side of the DVD case. And the DVD itself is pressed (track side is sliver), not DVD-R. Of course, that might still be privated copy.
