The melancholy in the sight
Even in my bed, without a computer
Steps of dreams in spiral
Spiral, in spiral
Making his luggages for the invitation
Choosing the jersey by the inspiration
I leave a breath and it's the detonation
Detonation, a detonation
You hear it when my man is evil
One kiss and I head to the open sea
It's the phenomenal gold mine
Destination, one destination
He leaves for a trip
The life in capital letters
Take off in a shell
An escape
It's an escape

To fall for the take off, without altitude
I escape in to my shell, for certainty

Without return to my starting point
Seeking a star for an appointment
Making a short stop to my constellation
Constellation, constellation
To lazy in my bubble of shell
The sadness has no place
This evilness in the air is stressing
Be careful, be careful
Recharge when I get out of there
On his side, I feel over there
His look gives me the
Palpitation, of palpitations

Come over to ebrace me to your petals
My skin of pearl, your sleeping perl
Just in-between when the angels sleeps
Situation, it's the situation

refrain

When my shell is at a low ebb
You shouldn't cry a milligram
Tinkerbell is my only co-pilot
It's my bubble that passes to the action
Inside I'm the antidote
Everything will unfold, like us the plane
Foretold. The plane ? But it's not a plane
Like a plane, but the wings of bird

Taking off, without altitude,
I escape with my shell, for certainty

refrain x2

Oxmo : no landing even if you are wise... bastard

Constellation, constellation
A l'aise dans ma bulle à carapace
La tristesse n'a pas sa place
Ce mal de l'air est inlassable
Faites attention, faites attention
Rechargée quand je sors de là
A ses cotés, on me sent là-bas
Son regard me donne le la
Palpitation, des palpitations

Viens m'enlacer dans tes pétales
ma peau de nacre, ta perle dort
J'y entre quand les anges dorment
Situation, c'est la situation

Refrain

My translation (thanks RMJ for the transcription):

Melancholy in my sights
Even in my bed without a computer
Spiral staircase of dreams
A spiraling snail
Packing his (her) bags for the invitation
Choosing a shirt according to the inspiration
I leave in a hurry and then it explodes
Explosion, an explosion
You hear/understand it when my man wrong/bad
One kiss and I'm out of here
It's the phenomenal gold
Destination, a destination
Withdraw myself for a trip
Life in capital letters
Taking off in a shell
An escape
It's an escape

Falling for a takeoff with no height
I escape from everything in my shell

Without going back to my starting points (my roots)
Looking for a star for a rendezvous (date)
Taking a brief stop in my constellation
Constellation, constellation
Comfortable in the paradise of my shell
Sadness has no place here
This airsickness is constant
Be careful, be careful
Feeling recharged when I leave
At his side, I feel (comfortable) there/At his side, they smell me there :D
His glances sets the tone for my [awkward... will revise later]
Fluttering, fluttering

Come embrace/entangle me with your petals (Depends on interpretation)
My pearly skin, your pearl sleeps
I go in there when angels are sleeping
Situation, that's the situation

Refrain

When my shell is threatened by the waves
You won't cry a milligram
Tinkerbell is my only copilot
It's inside my bubble that everything happens
On the inside I am the antidote
Everything will unroll (roll along) like we had
Planned. Plane? But it's not a plane
Like a plane, but with the wings of a bird

A takeoff without height
I escape from everything in my shell

Refrain x2

Oxmo: No landing even if you're sensible. Imbecile.

Hi there!
I'm a new-member!!

I just wanted to make a precisation:

the text says "Comme nous l'avions
Prévu. L'avion ? Mais ce n'est pas un avion [...]"
which means "just like we had planned before. The plane? It isn't a plane..."

Ah, very sneaky... ;)

I hadn't at all noticed that. Nice find! :D

I would explain the phrase "son regard me donne le la".
"Donner le la" is a phrase used in all-latina-based langages. La is the latin note you call "A".
My english dictionary translates it as "to set the fashion/to set the tone/to give the ton". Hope you understood what it means.
I found this on the net:
"If I understand the expression "dare il la'" (donner le la in italian) correctly, it means to pave the way, to initiate, to lead the way, to clear the ground for others to follow, etc, which fits rather oddly in this sentence".
So it's something that you would say when you start doing something.

Then "mal de l'air" means "air-ache", if you understand what I mean, it is the pain you feel when you fly on a plane...
It is the a concept similar to that of I'm fed up!: "I'm fed up with the [...] plane that makes me throw up again...".
In this song she sings that when you fly you cannot don't have (I mean: you must have) this bad sensation... Have I been clear enough??? I hope so...

Thank you very much, Fiat Stilo. Your aid with these translations is invaluable. Grazie mille! ;)

So "mal de l'air" is kind of like sea sickness when on planes (air sickness?). That would make sense, seeing as "avoir le mal de mer" means "to be seasick."

Aha, this makes sense. This is what you do at the beginning of an orchestral concert; the lead violin plays an "A" note, and everyone tunes his/her instrument against it.

I believe "Son regard me donne le la
Palpitation, des palpitations" translates into "His look makes my heart beat fast"

Wow! It's nice to see that this song is much more poetic than it sounds. Then again, my mind has been dulled by the drivel that is normally packaged in this style in the States.

Thanks to those who came before, but what's there is not quite accurate in all places. Not that mine will be, but here's the translation that I'm currently using. There are some figurative meanings to things that I could easily have missed. I am going to have to post in addition with interpretations of certain parts later. Maybe I'll even try to translate the interpretations of some people from psychalizee. I think this song is heavy on analogy.

Oxmo: Qui huh ... hah doh hey hA-li-zée
Ce qui concrétise décollage (ou quelque chose qui sonne comme ça)

Oxmo: who huh hah doh hey hA-li-zée
she who makes the take-off a reality *1

Melancholy in the sights *2
Even in my bed, without a computer
Spiral staircase of dreams *3
Spiral, in a spiral
Packs its baggage for the invitation
Choosing the outfit according to inspiration
I leave with a blast and it's the detonation
Detonation, a detonation
You hear it when my man is bad *4
A kiss and I take to the sea, *5
It's the phenomenal mother lode *6
Destination, one destination
Going away on a journey
To live in capital letters
Taking flight in a shell *7
An escape
It's an escape

Falling back for a take-off, without altitude,
I escape in to my shell, for certain

Without return to my starting point
Seeking a star for a date
Making a stop-over to my constellation
Constellation, constellation
At ease in my shell bubble
The sadness has no place
This air sickness is relentless
Be careful, be careful
Recharged when I get out of there
By their sides, I am felt there *8
His look sets the tone *9
Palpitation, palpitations

Come embrace me in your petals
My pearly skin, your pearl sleeps
I go in (enter there) when the angels sleep
Situation, it's the situation

refrain

When my shell is at rock bottom *10
You can not cry but a milligram
Tinkerbell is my only co-pilot
It's from my bubble that we move to action
Inside I'm the antidote
Everything will take place, as we
Expected. The airplane ? But it's not a plane
Like a plane, but the wings of bird

Taking off, without altitude,
I escape into my shell, for certain

refrain x2

Oxmo : no touchdown even if you are wise... bastard

*1 something like that assuming "unefille_enForme_deFée" from psychalizee is correct in hearing "concrétise"
*2 means to "have it in for". That is, the melancholy is going to be attacked. An interesting way of saying she's taking an upbeat attitude.
*3 the word colimaçon can sometimes be used to refer to a snail, presumably as a reference to it's spiral shape.
*4 not quite sure if it simply means that or something else
*5 prendre le large means to go off-shore, as in what a sailor would do, but it is used figuratively to mean run away or take off. So, it sounds like she's breaking up with her man here.
*6 filon is used as a mineral vein and thus often used like mother lode in a gold mine.
*7 "prendre son envol" means to leave the nest as in when one leave the parents' house to live as an adult. Therefore it is refering to taking the flight in that sense. Coquillage means shellfish, like a nautilus.
*8 One French person suggested this means, " despite the fact she is with a guy, her mind is with the stars" though it literally means, "I'm being felt (by others) over there"
*9 As Fiat Stilo suggested, "donner le la" means to set the tone, a more literal translation than some considering the la refered to is the musical note. This is a common expression. I don't know, but maybe she's just saying she's nervous.
*10 "creux de la vague" literally means the trough of a wave, but this is the figurative meaning here.
*11 the somewhat controversial part of the song. This word enfoiré has a negative meaning something like bastard; so, that's good enough. Though some might translate with a harsher word. It really depends a lot on how the word is being used, especially since the popular comedian Coluche associated it with a widely popular charity event.

Again, a coquillage reference. As I mentioned in the "Spychédélices" thread, the spiral shaped shell is an important symbol in Corsican culture. Just like the “Eye of Santa Lucia”.
