rcs: Yes on both counts, though I'm happy to hang out with her on either.

Myspace isn't dangerous unless you do something silly, but it's still a much more frequent target for unpleasant people than Facebook is.

Facebook always strikes me as much more professional, though, and I definitely prefer it for interacting with my friends.

Better? Most certainly. For a pure social site, Facebook is easier. Myspace might be more customizable, but that isn't always a good thing. Pretty much the only thing myspace has over Facebook, the music, isn't that important. Especially with the new "Fans Of" application.

When Facebook was created, it was a collegiate networking site, designed for 4-year university students and grad students to connect with others in academia. You couldn't get in without an .edu email address. That lasted a couple years, but then the powers that be decided they wanted to make lots of money, so they opened it up (against much protesting and gnashing of teeth by the members) to anybody.

It's lost the exclusivity, but it retains a sense of being more about the real person than a fake net-identity. Myspace is... well... it's Myspace.

It sounds like a good song. I think it should go well. It's just too bad he wasn't a litttle younger (61). It would add a lot more chemistry to the song if he was.

I believe the literal transaltion of the title is Clara wants the moon. Is this correct, and does anyone know when this video was made?

and one little side question, a couple of times in this video they show views of two office buildings that at first glance look a little bit like the former twin towers in NY. Are these buildings in Paris?

Most likely, since according to AlizeeRocks.com, only 5% of people look at anything besides Alizée in a picture of Alizée during their first viewing of the picture. AlizeeRocks.com also released a report saying that 85% of participants in a recent study gazed at Alizée in 3 pictures for about 50-60 minutes each before moving to the next picture.

So as you can see, spotting that dog, and let alone commenting about it, would be very unlikely. So I'd have to say that DrSmith was the only one that commented about the dog in that pic in my eyes ;)

Yeah, when she puts something up on Facebook, it usually gets a lot of comments, but most of them have little to do with what it is she posts. I couldn't help but noticed that Alizee gains hundreds of fans/friends a day! It was just 5 days ago when she hit 250,000. Now it's almost 255,000! That's an average of about 1,000/day! Compared that to Vanessa Paradis (92,000); Jenifer (72,000); Amel Bent (99,000); Nowenn (36,000); Natasha (11,000) and Claire Keim (7,000). I think only Mylene (316,000) has more.
This despite of very little activities from our Alizee. :cool:

IMO, she was by far the most beautiful woman out there and she is a joy to watch dancing. Then we all know what a great person she is on the inside, a fact that I'm sure is well known by the French people, a fact that makes her presence on the show a key focus of their planning for the show. I'm sure you all heard in the interview with her and Nolwenn how rushed the preperations for this show were, but both of them looked like they had been rehearsing for weeks. That I'm sure is another thing that is truely valuable to the producers of this show.



Look for example at this clip from this years Les Enfoires. At the start of it there are three big lugs who are walking up on stage. They were hardly into it. They were probably horrified when they told them that they were going to asked to wear a skirt,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I mean a kilt. I certainly would of if I had been in their position. But directly behind them there was a man of dark complexion, and behind him there was a relatively young man ( well young in relation to me) who is just really into it. It was enjoyable to watch him. He made the best of an uncomfortable situation and entertained the crowd. I wish I could be that cool. (Who is this guy anyways?) Reminded me of the Fonz. So this is the type of guy they would want back next year on their show along with Alizee (It's a good thing for Jeremy that he already sealed the deal).

As far as the public liking her, you are absolutely right that there are many people in France who have a special place in their hearts for her. They are just waiting for her to come up with something truely to their liking. They will not settle for anything less than what they think is very good music. But I think all the keys pieces are in place. Alizee has gone through a learning curve since she left MF and LB and she willl apply what she has learned in her next album and that will be an awesome moment, for when she does well in France, all the elements will be in place in this country, that weren't in place in 2003, to promote her and she will come to this country and get the recognition she deserves.

Well, I followed her Mexican concert tour for Psych, but I am jealous of those who have made the pilgrimage for those special TV show appearances. It would be unique to experience this, and I still have that void to fill. Just can't get enough.

We'll probably never really know what went on between Alizée, MF and LB. But I think Alizée has learned how much these two meant to the success of her early career. She now understands how tough it is to make it in this business and has come to realize more than ever how incredibly talented these two individuals were to have achieved what they have achieved with her and MF's career.

I cant say if she is apologizing or not but I think it's obvious to say she definitely is regretting the break up! She went from huge Euro-sensation to "struggling" to make on her own since the break up. That fact alone has to speak for itself; that's not even considering the cash aspect which in itself is a huge factor.
But upon saying that, it was definitely important to Alizee for her to go off on her own and make her own mistakes which hopefully she is learning from.

Somebody else had mentioned that either the MF birthday post or one shortly before it was made about 2 in the morning. Now we have this post that if it was made, was then quickly deleted. It's probably all quite meaningless . The late night post due to a little insomnia. This post, if indeed it was a post, just something she decided to post, then thought better of it. No big deal. It could even be she left her computer unattended for a few minutes and the mischevous little Annily posted it!

But now is the time when she's starting to work on her new album and one of the first things she has to do is figure out what went wrong with Psych and UEDs. If she can't figure that out, how can she guarantee success with her next album? She's in an expensive business and she probably can not afford another failure.

So there is probably a lot of soul searching going on right now. There will be a lot of late nights, especially in these early stages and as I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, we will probably be seeing some posts that are a little out of the ordinary.

If this post about having 300,000 followers was actually a post, I think it could be because she might be starting to doubt herself. She could be thinking I have all these followers, they can't be all wrong? So she posted it more as a message to herself than to us, then quickly thought better of it. I couldn't help but noticed that Alizee gains hundreds of fans/friends a day! It was just 5 days ago when she hit 250,000. Now it's almost 255,000! That's an average of about 1,000/day! Compared that to Vanessa Paradis (92,000); Jenifer (72,000); Amel Bent (99,000); Nowenn (36,000); Natasha (11,000) and Claire Keim (7,000). I think only Mylene (316,000) has more.
This despite of very little activities from our Alizee. :cool:

I guess she often stays online even late night. When her melle alizee bis account was active, she used to log in to that account as late as 3 AM.

Now we have this post that if it was made, was then quickly deleted. It's probably all quite meaningless . The late night post due to a little insomnia. This post, if indeed it was a post, just something she decided to post, then thought better of it. No big deal. It could even be she left her computer unattended for a few minutes and the mischevous little Annily posted it!


She deleted it after few hours, probably in the morning. It's not new for page owners to post when it reaches some significant number followers. Almost all fb page owners do so. She is no exception. She always does that and she did when her page crossed 300,000 mark. But no one posts exact number.


If this post about having 300,000 followers was actually a post, I think it could be because she might be starting to doubt herself. She could be thinking I have all these followers, they can't be all wrong? So she posted it more as a message to herself than to us, then quickly thought better of it. But this is just speculation on my part.

If you add up all the followers of the French singers, including Alizee, it doesn't add up to a million where Lady Gaga has over 43 million herself. I guess the majority of it is because English is spoken in many more countries than French.

I agree. A lot of non-speaking countries are quite familiar with the english language, thanks mainly to Hollywood. Unfortunately for French singers, their markets are mostly limited to french-speaking countries such as Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, etc. There are few exceptions of course such as Alizee and K-Pop (which is very popular in Japan even though their language is dfferent).

If you think about it, Mylène Farmer is one of most successful musicians in France and she's not doing so well herself compared to American's; and she is a French Canadian musician. So I don't think culture has too much to do with it.

I believe that part of the reason, not all, but at least some of the reason, is the label company for a lack of networking, promoting, control and expansion of their successful artists. In this case Polydor Records.

Take Rihanna for an example... Rihanna grew up on the tiny island, Barbados, and was discovered by Evan Rogers, an American song writer that brought her over to America at age 16. She auditioned for Jay-Z to get signed to Def Jam Records and became famous when she got promoted by the record label and became a house-hold name across many nations. She went from a different culture, a different country, and a no-name to being famous.

I predict that Alizée will get more promotion and recognition through Jive Epic ... That is the record label of music producer, Clive Davis, who is known for bringing in new talent as no names and making them well known.. such as Alicia Keys.

Anyway.. as I said, I think that the record label is, at least, part of the reason.

I believe it is a promoting and networking issue and America and the UK have the advantage over other countries in networking and promoting throughout the rest of the world.

The English-speaking community is becoming more of a diverse world with diverse cultures. If Alizee were to perform a concert at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, singing in French, she would do just as well as if she were to show up and sing in English... In either case, her name would get out and she would gain more fans simply by performing in Las Vegas.... hell, if blue man group and bang on drums for an hour and sustain a captive audience, I am pretty sure a talented French musician would to quite well! I mean, heck, Terry Fader went from being a no name to obtaining 10-year contract singing through puppets after America got to know him... need I say more? I believe promotion and networking is important.. getting the name out... the talent takes care of itself.

If language was an issue then China would have more well known people than any other country and everyone would be trying to learn Mandarin because they have a market that is about the same size of the world's English speakers. In fact, it is actually Mandarin speakers that have more than a billion native speakers compared to English which still has less than 350 million.... you'd think a talented native singer in China would be be an instant star.

In any event.. the world is a really big place... with that said, I'm pretty sure there are still millions of people who have never heard of Lady Gaga, Modonna, and even Michael Jackson or Elvis Presley.... which again, is the reason I believe that networking is essential...

If a record label promoted Alizee the same way that religion promotes their beliefs, Alizée, or anyone for that matter, could be more successful than that of Michael Jackson based on sure popularity alone.

I don't think it is a matter of technology. I believe that, unfortunately, they just don't care about her as much as they did in the past (as shown by her sales on the last two albums). Had Facebook been around in 2000, I'm sure she would have way more "likes".

I think the reason has more to do with Alizee's inactivity on Facebook and Twitter. She has practically no following on Twitter because she doesn't update fans on anything. If you want to find out anything about Alizee, you come here. ;)

Lady Gag and Bieber have staff that update their Facebook accounts for them and use it as a public relations vehicle. If Lady Gag cuts her finger, it's posted on her Facebook account with pics.

I have noticed that Alizee has become more active on Facebook recently which may explain more people finally adding her. I personally do not use Facebook, but created an account anyway. While I love Alizee very much and want to know about everything happening in her life, I have not subscribed to her Facebook. I do check frequently now because she has been updating it recently.

So, it's now November in France. I guess we can say that October has been the busiest month for Alizee as far as facebook acitivities are concerned. She posted a total of 30 posts! Had she posted a new picture of her in a halloween costume just like last year, that would have made it an average of 1 post/day. For someone whose average post before was 1 every two-three months, this was short of unbelievable. I don't expect her to continue posting this much in the future, but, I hope she posts enough to keep us fans informed.
