I was dissapointed when I discovered the deluxe version would be a dualdisc. I HATE those things! They always get stuck in my car CD player. I bought the regular one. The video included on the DVD side is on Youtube anyway I beieve.

I think US amazon is backordered and they only sent out the earliest orders. just order it on amazon.com and wait for more to come in or you can spend a bit more money on amazon.fr and get it quickly.

I never used amazon.fr but I sent a email in english to amazon.de and they send me back an email in very good english. It did take them a week to reply but still I think its very good since most germans I've spoken to dont really speak much english. So I think amazon.fr will be able to find someone who understands the email too.

Really??? Cause I'm (oww hope I dont get banned for this..) from the netherlands and the overal oppinion here is that germans speak really bad english. They have a very awful accent a lot of times that is so strong you dont know if they are speaking english or german

Rocket, the DVD is in PAL format. Your player probably only plays the NTSC format used in the US. This is a seperate issue from the zone or region thing. You should be able to watch it on your computer if you have a DVD drive in it.

yeah rocket, it should work fine on your PC DVD-ROM if you have one. anyways it's a lame video, doesn't really justify them including a whole DVD disc just for that. at least include MJ video, album covershoot video, or her studio recording videos in addition or something. i can only guess they were planning for something better but didn't have time or resource to.

Yeah, the funny thing is the whole content of the DVD weighs in at under 300 mb. They could have fit it on the CD. :blink:

The CD contains 422 MB of data. The video is less than 300 megs, 271 to be precise. 693 MB total. It would fit.

Just to be ultra-pedantic, audio CDs have historically been 74 mins/650 megs (the blank ones became bigger at some point). I don't know whether audio CDs got bigger over the years too.

Actually I think that's an "additional" capability that a lot of DVD players do not have. If they want to make something that everyone (in France at least, not counting the NTSC crowd here) can play, then I think are safer to go with a DVD. And besides, it makes the "deluxe" edition look bigger :).

Due to the higher volume of DVD production to CD production that exists now, it is actually cheaper to buy DVDs than CDs in any volume, both for burning and for pressing.

Anticipation is the best sauce. Sometimes, denying yourself the pleasure just heightens the appreciation! I think this is one of those times. I've heard clips of many of the songs, and i've read reviews of the album - but i don't have any experience of the whole thing yet - I may be sad that my copies have not shipped, however, I enjoy the whole "frisson" that i get thinking about it.

Now - as you all know - I have'nt participated in any of the discussions, or reviews of the new material - wanting to keep that moment fresh.

Here are my feelings after the first (partial) listen thru:

1. Mademoiselle Juliette
My favorite so far, seems most approachable to me, I love it.

2. Fifty Sixty
I'll have to listen to it more - Good, but I have to disagree with others on the board here who seem to feel that it should have been released first. I really feel MJ was the right song for the start.

3. Mon Taxi Driver
I like it. ;)

4. Jamais Plus
Unremarkable (to me - please don't fry me!).

5. Psychédélices
I like it - i think this is one that will grow on me.

6. Décollage
Trippy - sticks with me.......We'll see....

7. Par Les Paupiéres
ok song - have to listen to it more.

8. Lilly Town
Made me smile - I like it, I don't know WHY, but i do.:D

Funny thing is, as you may know - I don't speak French, so when I do try to sing along, its USUALLY hilarious! (to me anyway - wife has been known to put headphones on and listen to ((UGH!)) Michael Bolton!) So yea, I'm trying to sing MJ already! And "Mon Taxi Driver" (at least 3 words.....)

It took a while (I stuck with Amazon.com for the order) but it is finally here.

I would have to say it is what I expected. The previous albums were a defined work that had a specific theme to them. The new album is more of a break out where she is trying various methods and styles trying to see what she feels will help define her for the future.

It's great music on it's own, and I am enjoying that I finally get to listen to some new music from one of the most talented voices I have ever heard.

This song is sticking in my head - not the words - but the melody. Reminds me of a lonely piano bar at 12:30 on a Tuesday night, no one there but me, the bartender, and the piano player, quiet night, but still singing, inviting the night to be "good"......... God i like this album - not at all what i was expecting, and so much more a treasure for the differences!
