There are some gaps in my transcription, as you can see. :o

The place of my dreams is my native city - Ajaccio, Corsica. The city in itself is very beautiful, its market, its little port, the old city... When you keep going a little on the Boulevard _____, you reach the "Bloody Islands." You can witness a very beautiful sunset from around five to six in the evening and there is a very particular color... a rather special orange-ish color that you find nowhere else. Behind the "Bloody Islands" there's a beach that I've gone to since I was born: the _____ beach. It's a place that needs to be preserved... a very, very beautiful beach. There aren't many people who go to it. You have to be Corsican to be aware of this place. In the winter you can go for a walk and breathe ______. In the summer there's a sea made of oil with quite perfect weather; it's never too hot. We can peacefully savor our days on the edge of the sea.

The place of my dreams is my native city - Ajaccio, Corsica. The city in itself is very beautiful, its market, its little port, the old city... When you keep going a little on the Boulevard Lantivy, you reach the "Bloody Islands." You can witness a very beautiful sunset from around five to six in the evening and there is a very particular color... a rather special orange-ish color that you find nowhere else. Behind the "Bloody Islands" there's a beach that I've gone to since I was born: the Capo di fene ("Capo di feno") beach. It's a place that needs to be preserved... a very, very beautiful beach. There aren't many people who go to it. You have to be Corsican to be aware of this place. In the winter you can go for a walk and breathe the fresh air ("grand air"). In the summer there's a sea made of oil with quite perfect weather; it's never too hot. We can peacefully savor our days on the edge of the sea.

No more gaps!:)

Edit:

BTW, the French expression "mer d'huile" ou "mer fait d’huile" (sea made of oil) usually refers to the fact that the water is relatively calm.

Since Alizee mentions it in the video, I guess it's okay to show the exact location of Blood island.

Well if anyones wondering why they're called the Blood islands.. it's because of the sunsets they have. They're very red in colour.. the colour of blood. ;)

Not to imply that you are wrong, there, Un-rêve. But...

In French these islands are called “Îles sanguinaires” or “archipel des Sanguinaires”. “Sanguinaires” is basically the equivalent of sanguinary in English. So, the name does seem to be related to the color of blood, but more officially, it is generally thought that it originates from:

- A deformation of the name found on early modern era maps: “Sagonare Insulae”. This would make the most sense, since the archipelago still sits between the Sagone and Ajaccio canyons.

- The color of the porphyry rocks when they are hit by the sunset light.

- The color of some indigenous plant (Frankénie) which leaves turn bright red in autumn.

I found this info while I was completing the translation from Toc De Mac.

Edit:

In honor of Ajaccio's tourist appeal, I have now decided to adopt for my AAm account motto the phrase Life's a beach & then you dive, a variant on the oft-repeated world-weary phrase, Life's a bitch and then you die.

Yeah you're right on track.. the article I linked below pretty much confirms what you say and here's a small quote from it. ;)

" The name "Sanguinaires" means "bloodthirsty". The origin of the name is very old and means "on the road to Sagone" (Sagonares insulae).

Others say that the name come from the colour of the islands in the sunset, or even the colour of the sea, that has a deep red colour in the sunset because of a red algae. "

From page 789 (http://books.google.com/books?id=PAQuAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA789&dq=les+sanguinaires&hl=en#v=onepage&q=les%20sanguinaires&f=false) of The living age, Volume 184
Littell, Son and Co. (1890)

The voyage from Marseilles to Ajaccio took us seventeen hours. Guide-books and time-tables say twelve, but I believe it has seldom or never been done under sixteen... My first glimpse of Corsica was through the port-hole of my cabin, about 7 A.M... Soon we passed close to Les Iles Sanguinaires, three rocks jutting out in a line from the mainland of the island, towards the south. On the largest of these is a lighthouse, connected by an electric wire with Ajaccio, some seven miles away. On these islands, and, we are told, nowhere else, grow a most curious looking plant. I have heard it called an arum lily, but it has not the slightest resemblance to one... Thirty minutes after passing Les Iles Sanguinaires — I never could get a satisfactory explanation of the name — the steamer dropped her anchor in the outer port of the bay of Ajaccio, about two hundred yards from the quay. The Corsipedia has a skeleton article (http://co.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isuli_Sanguinari) about the islands, which are called Isuli Sanguinari in Corsu. The most substantial part of it is a nice snapshot (http://co.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ajaccio_San1JPG.jpg) from 2008.
