You didn't get the point.

He told you to use English because 99% people here do not understand Spanish. If you talk in Spanish here, it's rude to those 99% of members who can't understand you.

This is English forum so use English. Even if you are from the same country, like you said.

If you wish to speak Spanish with him, then it's better to use private messages.
