Rough translation:

End of the RCA label! Alizée will soon change teams (Still under Sony)!

Once this team change is made, promotion will resume. FIFTY SIXTY will have it's promotion, and other singles will follow.

In October, Alizée will be in Madame Figaro for a special Gainsbourg issue. Several artists participated. Each artist took a picture and said a word.

Next Saturday, there will be an interview with Jean Fauque (And Alizée?) on the new program "Access private."

The Concert Tickets sell very well! (I wanted to add in the euphoria)

------

Basically, it sounds like she's getting new management that wants to re-launch promotion (hopefully better this time), first with Fifty Sixty and then with other singles. It's like a fresh start for the album! :)

Edit, more info from Nidalizee: It's not just Alizée that's leaving RCA, the whole label is shutting down! The artists are being moved to other branches within Sony. Alizée is going to JIVE EPIC.

sweet, maybe Jive will promote her here in America, I know that Jive is also really big here with bands such as N*SYNC xD

Hope that she gets a better promotional start than she did under RCA :P

Hopefully it is good news for us and Alizée. Though RCA closing shop is a distressing sign of the state of the record industry!

Promotion under RCA was terrible, as was the time it take to get things done. Let's all hope for something decent this time.

I've heard of the Sony BMG split or rather Sony buying out BMG's share in their partnership but nothing about RCA shutting down their label. Hopefully this relabeling means better promotions for Alizée.

It's good to hear that the concert tickets sold well. Though how much of that is a tribute to the international fans? LOL!

A few points of clarification and commentary:

-I don't know if RCA is shutting down worldwide or only in France, but it's probably just the later.

-Aside from the management team change, this shouldn't really effect Alizée overseas in places like Mexico or potentially the United States, since there she's always just been with "Sony BMG", no sub-label.

- While this will hopefully be good for Alizée in the end, I Personally find it a bit hard to be so happy over what amounts to news of restructuring and layoffs. Some may say they deserve it, but as others have mentioned this could actually be an explanation for the lack of promotion. Apparently their fate has been in question for some time. It wouldn't make sense to be promoting a lot when you think you might close shop in a few months.

-The good news is that Lili will be back soon with new stuff! :)

I'm guessing this is related in some way to the Sony buyout of BMG. When Sony and BMG merged, BMG brought the RCA label to the party. Now that Sony owns the whole pie, Sony is the owner of the RCA label. The RCA label probably carries a lot of BMG overhead that Sony does not wish to carry, especially considering there are plenty of Sony labels available.

The latest news on http://www.rcamusic.fr was posted 30/07/2008 (a news aboute Leona Lewis)

And the Alizée consert in paris is not listed in the consert section, so I think something is in the air with RCA france.

August is the month where nothing happens in France, so that doesn't mean much.
The last news announcement (about Lili) was may 6th.

Finally an answer to why Alizée refuse to communicate with her fans, it's evident she lost all hope for humankind as awhole watching this.... thing.

Well hopefully this team change will improve her promotion a lot. I was speaking with a french guy the other day (in English of course lol), and he said, "Alizée?? We don't remember her anymore here in France. Nobody talks about her."

It's obvious things were not going smooth at all over there. I hope her concerts will be a big success, and why not, make a new En Concert DVD! (hehe I badly want a new one).

If french people don't like her anymore, she should move here to Mexico, I'm pretty sure she would be way more popular. We just love her a lot over here :)

"Alizée?? We don't remember her anymore here in France. Nobody talks about her."

:( That hurts, that hurts a lot. I know she's obviously not as popular over there as she once was, we've been reminded a million times, but whenever I hear something like this it just kills me. I would give anything for her to be popular again in France, because I know that would make her happy (happier, I should say. She surely is not displeased with her popularity in Mexico, the U.S., and all over Europe. And I remember seeing some African fans, and don't forget As...oh damn it, all over the world :p). You know, I just cheered myself up. So what if the French don't appreciate Lili, they'll come around eventually. Funny how you recognize beauty and talent until its at a distance, but completely miss it if its right under your nose.

Hehe, that's a good observation. Maybe what makes Lili so appealing to us is that she seems far and unreachable to us like a goddess. I am pretty sure that she won't come to Turkey but I still like to keep hope for that  Maybe same for you guys in the USA...

Well yeah, and i think the fact that she isn't 'doing so well' in her career right now boost to the fandome aswell, or atleast to the magnitude of your fandome. Somehow it triggers the 'knight in shiny armor' thing inside you, like if the fair lady (maybe queen is more suitable) is in need of saving.

If she would had been a superstar and being famous across the world with millions of hardcore fans it would not had been the same thing, atleast not for me.

I personally like her new style and performances though not as much as MCE era, but anyway we can interpret "being far" as not reaching to her potential as well. The hope of a real explosion in her career also helps me remain as a fan, and if she becomes very famous all over the world I will still continue to love her with the pride of standing by Lili in her "bad times" if you call so...

Yes, unfortunately it maybe be that the "shake-up" has diverted attention from properly promoting Alizée, especially recently. I read that BMG took a number of artists in France with them when they split or is going to. Alizée could have been among those I guess. But it seems she's staying with Sony instead. I suppose that's a good thing. Who knows?

It is known that Bertelsmann wants to pull out of the record business.
That's going on for a long time and no secret.

But till now there is nothing (not even a rumour) going around to support that to something concrete.

So the move to Jive/Epic as suggested, is still a persistent rumour imho.

Roman
09-21-2008, 03:37 PM
Well, yes, there's no question that Sony bought out the other half of the Sony/Bertelsmann merger, but what of RCA and this so called Jive/Epic? I don't know. Haven't read anything about that stuff except what's on these forums.

Even Sony's web site still says 50% Sony, 50% BMG; so, they just aren't updating this stuff expeditiously. In so much as it could make any difference to me, I will go ahead and fully believe that Alizée is changing record labels again in so far as RCA is concerned. Much of what she has done has already had the Sony/BMG label on it anyway. So, my question would be, what difference does RCA really make? I assume it makes a big difference, but how exactly I don't know.

Oeeeffff... :o:o:o
I just called the guy who has some inside information of Bertelsmann group and it seems that they were waiting for an EU approval for that deal.
That was agreed last week.
So it seems to be indeed that Bertelsmann officially has pulled out from Sony/bmg.

I guess it is shuffling artists from BMG labels to the Sony labels.
What it means? Dunno. Probably new management? Or the same moving to Sony too?
Time will tell I suppose.

But the Jive/Epic story I still don't buy till I've seen some evidence.
(and that is not some vague info from a French fan site that stays remarkable silent about it) ;)
