Movie time! :)
The 11 tracks in the film will be a mixed bag of French and English numbers, and the director (Luc Jacquet) has already roped in Grammy winner, Laura Pausini, and popular singer Alizée to sing the tracks.
Come December and the composer would be flying off to Paris to record the numbers. “I’ve already started composing the numbers." :cool:

I'm pretty sure that's not the title of the movie, but rather the title of the article. The title doesn't seem to be mentioned in the article, perhaps it has yet to be decided :confused:.

yeah, I dont think that's the title of the movie, too. But why is "French Connection" the title of the article? Laura Pauisini is not French, and Debajyoti Mish doesn't looks like if he was french.
Isn't "French Connection" novel too?

Great news! But the title of the movie is most likely not "French Connection" since there already is a very famous movie of that title (the one with Gene Hackman). Are there no cineasts around here?:p

"It’s time to raise a glass of Cognac and say cheers to everything French. Our home-grown talent Debajyoti Mishra is on a roll, yet again. This time around, he’s scoring music for a French film by Oscar-winning director, Luc Jacquet."
The article describes the collaboration between Debajyoti Mishra, who is Indian, and the French director of the film, Luc Jacquet.

"Ask him about the content of film that he’s composing music for and Mishra explains it’s about a woman’s journey of life. “Saadat Hasan Manto’s Toba Tek Singh plays an important role in the film.
The protagonist, a popular pop artiste, chances upon the play, which is about how one of the characters die in a no man’s land. As the movie swings between surreal and abstraction, she meets a monk and sets on a journey to find peace. The singer meets Buddha, Rumi and Tagore,” says Mishra. It’s this great Tagore connect that made the director have Mishra on board. "

Buddha
Rumi
Tagore
AND ALIZEE (singing)
all in one movie.
This should really be interesting. :):):):)
(Note: For those who don't know, Rumi and Tagore are GREAT Eastern spiritual poets)

Yes. It has to be him. He is the only Tagore that would stand with Buddha and Rumi. :)
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action-
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

A response from the film's director, thanks to Julien at lilly-town.com:
Bonjour , je vous assure que cette info est des plus invraisemblables!
bien à vous
Luc Jacquet
Hello, I assure you that this info is highly improbable!

Luc Jacquet
Improbable? :blink:

Argh.
What a rotten couple of months. Every time we get our hopes up for something, they're dashed somehow.
Oh well...nothing to do I guess but hope that 2009 comes in on a better note than the one 2008 has gone out on. :(

Man Alive! What a Roller Coaster 2008 has been! I'm with you R-man. Lets hope in 2009 our little friend across the way can right the ship that is her career.
And after she rights it, set a damm course, I don't care which course, just set one. (and let us know)
Aye-aye, Cap'n.
