A long time ago, I saw on Fox Kids for the first time the clip of Moi...Lolita, but I didn't care for it, so I was going to watch to another channel. In 2006 I still had the song in my head, and I was curious who the singer was... So I searched in a p2p program called "Ares" and I found Moi...Lolita... And Immediatly I was hooked:D

1) Fox Kids, like Fox TV in the US, played Moi Lolita? I wouldn't expect that.
2) Why was a kids' channel showing that anyway?

I don't know... It was a kids channel for children between 4-12 years... And Alizee was very popular with her first single in Holland, So practically every channel showed her clip:)

Oh, Holland. That makes more sense, I thought you meant Fox in the US :)
That would be really odd.

WNxSauron (Sauron on these here forums) kept on posting videos of Moi Lolita on our gaming clan forums. I was like "Whats so good about her?" Then after more videos eventually leading into JEAM I was thinking that she was hot. Then soon after came her voice. There was a couple month gap then I was hooked and joined AF. I wasn't posting alot and eventually came here. I knew about this since all Sauron's videos came from here. I love the giant databse.
FYI I am not one of those sleezebags on youtube who go "ZOMG she is such a fucking hawt ho". I can't stand those sleeze's.

well i am not easy to entertain, though the best thing you can do is put on a comedy movie which influenced my finding of Alizée, for i was checking the top 100 on video.google.com and it said "hot french singer" so well as you know i was bored so i watched and thought the video and her voice were just beautiful, so after months of searching information on Alizée, i came across the wonderful site!

like most straight males, the entry point was JEAM on youtube. but then you get over JEAM after seeing all the goodness that is lili and look at her in a different light. honestly, now i am not that big a fan of JEAM as a song but i do confess JEAM performances were like a metal hook that digs deep and won't let you go.

It's all thanks to cucumbers, really.
Like so many others, I ran across Alizée's clips on the net, while aimlessly browing a viral video site. The first I saw was the well known JEAM performance. Having some background in French, I tried to listen to it and understand parts, with minimal success as it had been years since I'd spoken French. I looked up the lyrics so I could do a dictionary translation. I had better success translating this way, but was having a bit of trouble with a few parts, most notably the word "Courgettes." I couldn't figure out what "Cucumbers" had to do with extremism and pessimism. I figured it must be some kind of slang, but didn't know what. My dictionary said nothing. Still, I was intruiged by something that unknowable, and went hunting for other clips, in case other songs had a clue to the mysterious meaning.
I found Moi... Lolita next, and rapidly acquired the lyrics to it as well. I got through translating almost all of it, though was curious about the phrase "donne ma langue au chat." It sounded like an idiomatic expression (specifically, one I didn't know), so I turned to the glorious internet for a clue. I found a web forum devoted to helping one-another out with French/English and English/French translation which had a thread on that exact phrase, and plugged the figurative meaning in to the song lyrics. It then occured to me that this would be a good place to ask about Courgettes. With the numerous native Frenchmen and fluent-level Anglophones, I was certain to find the answer I sought.
While awaiting replies there, I found the clip for ACC. This more mature Alizée, with the fully fleshed out music video, capitivated me. I found began translating it, and found a huge depth of meaning in the song. Nearly every line had double meaning (some triple!), many of which translated suprisingly well to English, and some lines were completely beyond me. I returned to the translation forum and found that the people there were just as confused by cucumbers as I was. Nobody was aware of any double meanings, slangs, or unusual implications.
Captivated by the complexity of ACC, and driven even harder to find meaning for those damnable courgettes, I went hunting for discussions of those particular songs. Much to my surprise and delight, I ran across a fan-site called moi-alizee.us, where things were in English, and there was a vast archive of videos and music information about this singer. I didn't register on the forums, lurking for several months instead. I did, however, see repeated references to "the Fun TV interview" and finally sat down to watch it, streamed from the site.
Watching the program, I was fascinated and delighted by how smart, sensible, witty, and generally pleasant Alizée was, and how unlike the ego-inflated American pop-stars she came across. I found myself falling in love with her laugh, with her smile, and the way she would become genuinely excited about this or that aspect of her life. I loved the way she credited her fans and her producers, was proud but humble, and seemed like the kind of person I would want to be friends with. Then, out of the blue, Lucas asked about the Courgettes. "I'm allergic" she replies. "Really" he asks. "Really" she says, with a huge rolled R on the beginning of the word.
Suddenly, Alizée makes sense to me. She isn't some creature from outer-space, or some strange incomprehensible being. She is a person, like you and me, and sings about her life, and the things that affect all of us. She's allergic to cucumbers, they make her vomit. Duh! Who needs slang and metaphor when you have plain and simple fact staring you in the face? I'm hooked, and I'm never going back.
I note similarities; Like Alizée, my top two front teeth are chipped off on the inner tips. Like her, I have a background in performing arts, with a major side interest in computer. Like her, cucumbers make me puke.
So, I'm a fan of Alizée, all thanks to those reprehensible green things called "Courgettes"
n.b. It was actually a discussion about the liquor called Alizé that resulted in me joining the boards here - I had just bought some due to its name, and couldn't resist signing up to join in :-)

About a year ago I was poking around the videos on Google looking for new music and I discovered JEAM. I immediately loved the song, the sound of her voice and her looks. Each day the video would play in my mind, nagging me to return to Google and watch it again. I then discovered JPVA, ACC and the rest and I was hooked. I loved her voice and the songs the most, but her presence was also intriguing to me. I then found this site and watched all the interviews and couldn’t help but to think she was someone very special.
Music is a very big part of my life and Alizée’s music has given me much joy. I think Jessica said that Alizée is the same in person as we see her in the videos. This confirms to me that she is not just a media creation, and my adoration for her is well placed.
Having read everyone’s posts, I think our devotion to Alizée is not the typical fan reaction people have to other artists. This is something different and special. Rather than think less of other artists, I think more of Alizée. She has set a higher standard. Of course I don’t know Alizée personally, but her life and happiness has become important to me and wanting the best for her makes me feel good inside.

Here is my Discovery of Alizée:
In the summer of 2008, Belgian singer Kate Ryan's new hit-single "Ella, elle l'a" was frequently played on the radio, and it got stuck im my brain. So i had to searc youtube to see if I could find here music video. After I had played in some times, I saw that there was another version of the song by an French artist called Alizée. I played the to versions back and forth, and become more and more interested of Alizée. I could not remember to have heard of this artist before, so I started to look for what other music Alizée had made.
In the beginning, I was most interested in the musicvideos, but later I listened to the full albums, at first I found "Mes Courants Électriques" best accessable to my ears. In my continued search for videos I wanted better quality, which I found at Alizée America. ;) Later I got the opportunity to see the full DVD: "Alizée En Concert" and that made everything fall in the right place. To see this astonishing beautiful girl so full of life, perform all this great music in this stylish consert environment, made me become a fan.

i was think...

i would love to know:)
I saw her on TV with her music video, Moi Lolita. I recorded it off the TV and listened to it many times as I loved the song. 6 years later I heard the song again and downloaded it. Then I asked myself, "If this is good, what does her other songs sound like". So got her 2nd album and liked it very much.
Now I'm not a huge fan, and I thought the third album was average but I enjoy listening to her voice and songs and watching her. My French friends think me very strange for liking Alizee. Especially since my music collection is polar opposite to Alizee with classic rock, hard rock and heavy metal. But I still listen to her anyway.
But at least they're happy that it was Alizee that got me to like the French language where I previously didn't back many years ago.

Of course I don’t know Alizée personally, but her life and happiness has become important to me and wanting the best for her makes me feel good inside.
I was in Paris in 2001 and heard Moi Lolita and Gourmandises in some sort of bakery with really delicious crousants baked in the shape of a circle with whip cream on top. I think i got hooked on those as well as Alizee when i was in France. When i got home, i found the old Alizee official and heard all her songs, i liked them, so i bought the CD and placed the songs in my iTunes and Moi Lolita just became another song in my huge collection of music i like. That was when i havent realized Alizee's true potential yet. After a few months, i was bored, and searched up this mysterious young french singer again, and found mes courants electriques.
This time, with all my most favorite songs in her name, A Contre Courant, Cest Trop Tard, Hey Amigo, J'en Ai Marre and JVPA. From there, i got all the songs she produced, from Moi Lolita Techno Remix, to Ella Ella L'a, and i've been buying her merchandise to the present. Except the clothes and posters with nothing to them but looks.....theres too much different kinds of clothes and i dont really see the point, when most of them look like they belong to girls or pedos. I joined this site in 2007 when i got depressed because i havent been to Europe in a while. I love Europe, plan on living there once i get my masters. Anyway, thats my story.
And lefty, i agree with you, wanting the best for something as special as Alizee makes you feel really good.

Youtube. I don't remember exactly how I got to her video, but I first came across JEAM. Now, I'll admit it, my first interest was her hotness(I was a teen awash in hormones... sue me! :p). However, after moving on, watching more and more videos, I found my feelings change. She stirred something inside me... I found myself caring about her. I started researching and listening to her music. Here I am, over 3 years later, trying to make the US a viable place for her to perform! She has helped me too much for mere words to encompass, and I would gladly do anything to help her.

David Barrett 1990-2000
(May he rest in peace)
Foreword:
During the near end of the year of 2000, David of the Barrett family lived his life, only to pass on towards the next day. This one particularly day would mark the end of young David's life, as he discovered the voice of one that would forever shatter he who had been. The song was "Moi...Lolita", and upon the radio, he heard it for the first time, a different language in the heart of his anglican homeland, England. Upon this voice, his life changed, forever, marked was his final day as David Barrett, identity change, soul recycled, and he was gone. Nothing would ever be the same for him ever again, he was now, a new person. Forever his desires and his dreams were thrown away, and replaced with the desires and the dreams of the new spirit, and forever he should answer the call of his new queen, whom was named Alizée.
Black and white are all he had seen, in his infancy...
Now, reaching out to him, color brings him to see...
Throughout 8 years, and forward, he now lives under a new light, Alizée...

My story of discovering Alizee is not near as colorful or for as long a period as some of you although the outcome seems to be very similar across the board. I was cruising youtube and saw the picture of Alizee with her back to the camera in her little sailor JEAM video. That video is a tactical nuke! Anyway it peaked my interest and I started to watch other videos and then interviews .many French and then discovering some translated to English. Like others have said I discovered that she had a lot of depth to her and was much more that just another teenie bopper! Yes she is very alluring, but those eyes of hers express an intelligence. aliveness, joy, tenderness, love and then you add in her immense facial expressions you don't even have to know French. This all began for me last October I think. It has been an evolving situation and these days I can't get enough. As an artist her voice has a unique tone and range. Stevie Knicks and Sade come to mind as being very unique tone and maybe less range, but you get my drift. Long story short she has the whole enchilada as an artist, beautiful inside and out, intelligent, humble, kind, loving, great sense of humor, loves life, high morals, personal/professional integrity, courageous. Have to stop or this will turn into long story long story. It is amazing that especially men from all walks of life, backgrounds, ages, races, creeds etc. have drawn very similar identifiers re; Alizee. Very curious indeed. See on the road to Lilly Town!
Having been a professional musician for many decades, and having done session work in NYC, Nashville, Boston, Florida and other places, I have heard so much music, mostly from either America or Great Britain and was getting tired of what was being played on the radio.
Then a friend of mine from Europe told me about Alizée and said "Why don't you try listening to some of her music". That was all it took for me.
I was never much interested in France, because I was doing other things. However, after listening to Alizée, I became interested in Alizée's music, history, and then, after signing up for this forum, everything I could find out about France, as well. Now I listen to Alizée (and some other French artists, when I want a slight change of pace) to the total exclusion of everything else, except the music I am hired to learn and play.
Her voice, upbringing, attitude towards life, her morals, professionalism, humility, brains, personality, and of course, her most magnificant good looks, have all worked together to make me want to go to France and no other place, prior to being able to go there first. I have become interested in all things Alizée, and France.
I have always loved commercial music and find her music to represent the freshest music with the most depth and feeling of any I have heard in many years. I have not been this excited about listening to a specific person's music since Elvis, and the British Invasion. I have been this way for four years now, and the feeling has not let up. Instead, it has continually strengthened during this time, with much assistance from this forum and it's wonderful and generous members.
I am constantly driving my band, studio people and everyone around me crazy because whenever they see me, I am listening to Alizée.
Whenever I am asked what music I like to listen too, and I state "Alizée, and her French 'tangy pop' ", I get the most amazing reactions, especially after the person asking the question has heard me perform.
I cannot get enough of Alizée all the time, and I truly love it!

Oh..While I'm here, might as well post as how I became a fan.
It all started on an ominous day. It was rather depressing, but I felt music could cheer me up. So, I jumped on the internet, and started looking at music in general.
Now normally I'm more of a 'Killswitch Engaged,' or,'In Flames,' or,'Breaking Benjamin,' or...Well you get the picture. I'm more of a hard rock kind of person.
Anyway, I looked at some music, and decided,"It's time for a change in pace." So, I started looking at Techno/Dance music (it's basically tied, in favorites, with hard rock).
Nothing really appealed to me, so I figured I would play a game for a while...
While you may have guessed it, I play World of Warcraft every now and then. So, out of just curiosity, I play around with the game for a while, and some how come up with the question: Where did all these dances come from?
So, onto Youtube I went (Comments on that site are dreadful, by the way:eek: ) I typed in,"WoW dances."
So, I watch the most popular video of the origins of the dances, and about mid-way through, I see Alizee. Her beauty caught me, but so did her music.
Now, knowing Youtube, comments about how 'hawt' Alizee is, are seemingly always appearing in the space below the video. Obviously, since there wasn't any other amazingly beautiful women in the video, I came to the conclusion of the obvious: This was Alizee.
So, next step? You betcha, type in Alizee in the Youtube search bar :D
JEAM comes up, and I virtually immediately become entranced by her voice, dance, and overall presence.
I spend about 10 more minuets looking at all the videos with her performances in it, and decide I need to look at other websites.
Now, I spend about 20-40 minuets a day looking at this website, but I never really put in effort to make an account and post.
So a few months go buy, and here I am posting :)
Sheesh, long post :D (at least for me anyway)

Hello all! I've been lurking on the site for about a month and a half - just checking things out. :D
I live in upstate NY (about 4.5 hours from NYC) near Ithaca, NY. I work as a Security Officer for a hospital (not contract security - Private Security).
I discovered Alizee accidentally when some friends of mine brought their 14 yr. old daughter into work one afternoon, and (to take her mind off the tetnus shot she was soon to get) i asked her what she was listening to on her I-pod. I heard "A Countre Courant" and was floored by the voice! I do NOT normally like Euro-pop (or any pop for that matter) but i LOVED that voice. So after a couple of days when i couldn't stop thinking about that voice and that song - I went to Wikkipedia... and the rest is history....
Thanks to Admin Brad - Nice site here.

Edcognito your previous post hits the nail on the head for me. I'm 51, married, children, grandchildren, and you so eloquently described my experiences regarding Alizee, the effect of her whole personna. I too have never been this interested In a music performer like this. Stevie Knicks my first love and Sade a close 2nd. and maybe I would have gone down the same road if the net was available but will never know. Much closer to their age also. It just seems strange re; Alizee being so young. Only Alizee fans understand regardless of age I would bet.

I was on a gaming forum and some guy posted a vid of her. It was one of her J'en ai marre performances. I liked it so I looked her up on Youtube, liked her ever since.

Believe it or not, I first saw Alizée on American TV in primetime back in the Gourmandises era. It was an excerpt from her Parler Tout Bas video. It was shown on some kind of news magazine program talking about teen issues concerning growing up in this day and age. I was immediately spellbound by her, the video and the song. They mentioned her name and that she was French, but by the next day I had forgotten her name and was unable able to find out more about that lovely girl I saw, or her music. But there was something about Alizée’s face and voice and how they appealed to me personally. I’d swear they were hard-coded into my genes, because the first time I saw and heard her there was a sense of recognition, like déjà vu.
Fast forward to 2006 when I saw JEAM on Google videos. I was immediately spellbound again, but it wasn’t until I searched for more of her videos that I found Parler Tout Bas and made the connection and it all made sense to me. I guess I was lucky to get a second chance.

I was browsing through my friends favorite vids on his youtube channel. One was titled simply "alizee", the classic JEAM vid most people see first. I spent the next couple hours watching her vids and the rest is history.

My tale begins on Wednesday, June 4, 2008. I was studying in my room for the the Chemistry SAT II which loomed in the near future. As studying teenagers are wont to do, I began to drift and found myself on a youtube adventure, clicking on the links from one video to the next, regardless of interest, simply for the sake of procrastination. One of these clicks led me to my "hook video," which unlike with the majority of Lili fans, was not JEAM or La Isla Bonita, but strangely "Moi...Lolita" at Festivalbar. I don't know how to explain it, but just the way she moves in that video, combined with the entrancing music was a hell of a drug .
So, yeah, I watched that video and listened to that song over, and over, and over again, and ,although I feared it would affect my performance on the test that weekend, I couldn't stop (everytime I took the practice tests, the music would inevitably force its way into my brain, making it impossible to read the text, not to mention, think).
Anyway, the night before the test, I couldn't stop thinking about her, and although I went to sleep at ten, it took me four or five hours to get to sleep, and I was tired as hell the next morning.
Oh, and what's funny is that after I watched the video for the very first time, I grabbed a sticky note from the table beside my bed, and scrawled Alizée Jacotey and the date down (I still have that post-it, which is how I knew the exact date of my initiation ;)). It was as if some greater power, some unseen force told me that this girl was special, and I had to remember her name. It was a week before I discovered JEAM and La Isla Bonita and was thrust deeply and irrevocably into Lili fandom.
Thus it was, my story. I remember it as if it were yesterday (and compared to some of you pre-Psychédélices-ers here, it might as well have been :)).

It was in October, 2006 and my wife and I where on holiday in Spain when I discovered Lili. We were actually returning to our resort after a trip to Andorra when our tour guide started playing music videos on the coach TV.
I wasn't really paying much attention as it had been quite a long day but then one video caught my attention. This really cute girl dressed in a black sailor outfit was singing a French song. I had no idea who she was but luckily her name popped up at the end and I memorized it and then looked her up on the internet when we got home. As you know, the song was J'en Ai Marre.
I have been hooked ever since.:D

My story is the same as most of you.
A couple of years ago, I was on another forum and someone posted a thread called "Hot French girl" (or something to that effect) and it linked to 2 videos. As you can surmise, they were JEAM and La Isla Bonita.
Although her affect on me was immediate, I didn't become totally infatuated right away. It was purely a physical attraction at first and, to be honest, I didn't really take an interest in her music. However, over time, I would find myself going back and watching her videos periodically (and with increasing frequency) because there was just something captivating about her. As I became more and more enraptured by her, the music started to grow on me as well.
...and here I am now.

OK well I was going to Iraq on my first tour and I was told half way through training that my unit was actually going to Kuwaitt so when we landed in Iraq on the way to Kuwaitt the commander told me to get off the plane because I was staying in Iraq for the QRF...QRF=Quick Reaction Force...so i got off the plane and ended up doing my tour in Iraq after all...Well after a few months I was getting into a lot of trouble and the commander assighned me to the Vanguard outpost this outpost is where they send all the trouble makers and the soldiers they dont like, basically a post out in the middle of nowhere......Well before I got sent there I bought a laptop I guess because everybody had one and I never even had a computer growing up so I thought it was cool to have one for gaming and such...Anyways I got there and made friends with another American soldier from CANADA and asked him if he could show me the ins and outs of the laptop I bought...And he did,but while he was doing that he let me go through some files of his on his laptop and I paused on some really cool ones if you know what I mean...And i asked him if he could copy those specific files to my laptop while i went on my mission for the day and he said allright so i was like cool cool...My mission took like 4 hrs and by the time i got back it was still copying and i asked him if it is supposed to take that long and he said well i could not get just those specific files you wanted so i copied all my files to your laptop and i was like what???He then said just go through and delete anything you dont want and i was like cool cool allright...so i took my laptop to my bunk and started going through it all and there it was...................................a file that said Alizee moi lolita so i clicked on it and the song moi lolita started playing, there was not even a video to it and i liked it...I played the song for like 30 minutes over and over till i got tired and shut it off and fell asleep...The next night when i had more time i picked up where i left off in the files and found some more Alizee stuff like the Amsterdam video of moi lolita and JEAM video and i was like ''DAMNNN''....The next morning i asked the other soldier who Alizee was and the first thing that came out of his mouth was ''SHES ADDICTIVE ISN'T SHE???...And i was like ''YUP''...From then on i had the lilli syndrome lol...That's basically my story in a nutshell...Oh and i almost forgot...The day i found out about Alizee was on AUGUST 16th 2004...

I had seen the WoW dancing video back in probably early fall 2007, possibly even earlier, and I really liked "that girl" at about a minute into it if I remember correctly. I once in a while would come back to that video just to see her, and it wasn't until probably December 2007 that I actually downloaded J'en Ai Marre. And I was really embarrassed about it (to this day I have barely told anyone). I downloaded a couple more songs that I came across on Youtube, Moi Lolita, Mademoiselle Juliette, and Toc De Mac. I stuck with those four for a while, but then I slowly downloaded more. Before this, I thought the idea of liking foreign music was just plain bad, and I was constantly thinking to myself "there's no way I will become a fan of this, I don't want to be a fan of this." But I started to get more songs. It probably wasn't until spring that I even realized that an album had just come out in December. It wasn't until late May or early June that I found this site, and started watching videos and interviews and really started to find out about her. Then I just went on a downloading spree, and I have almost all of her songs now. I am a bit ashamed to tell you guys I have not bought a single thing yet, but I plan to soon. I found out she was doing some concerts later that month. I was in the middle of work in mid-June and I was like "Gee, it would be fun to try recording my own version of a song." I almost couldn't concentrate at work and when I went home it quickly appeared that this would never work. I ran into some problems at first that almost stopped me from ever doing it to begin with. I wanted to make a song the best I could to make it forum-worthy, and when I got it done the next day, I put it on the forum with doubts. And that's where I was at by the time I first posted. I now don't regret for a second getting into Alizee, even though to this day I am really embarrassed to tell any of my friends about her. Because the people that I have told are really dumbfounded, as this is not the type of music people would expect me to listen to. And my friends at school would probably not take it well, they would do nothing but laugh I'm sure. It's probably because it IS such a big change from what I am used to (Rush, Yes, ELP, Genesis, Jethro Tull). On another note, in June I also got into Axelle Red, and that stuff really is fun to listen to as well. I am big on bass guitar now, and her music is really big on it.

I discovered her with JEAM, too. I was in a baseball game in Mexico and in the giant screen they played a video, it was JEAM of course. Then I asked who was that girl , and an aunt answered me, the I went to youtube...and you know.
now 4 months later I really can´t stop thinking about her.
And the best, is that somewhere I have the tickets of the match!!! So I know exactly our first meeting!! : )

^^ Prog rock to Alizée is not nearly as embarrassing as (insert sub-genre)Metal to Alizée. :p
I think I was shunned by most of my community until late 2006 when they started listening to her as well. :D
I'm tired of telling the story, but here I go, completely summarized.
October 5, 2001: Football game, heard the song played loud on radio by eccentric man.
October 10, 2001: Remembered the song, attempted to find information on it.
October 11, 2001: Found that the song actually made it to the UK top songs list, which was surprising for a French artist.
October 30, 2001: Got a copy of "Gourmandises"
October 31, 2001: Lost my sanity and my tangible form, what a perfect day too!
March 8, 2003: Started the worst and best period of my life.
March 10, 2003: Completed first Alizée fan art.
March 11, 2003: Completed second Alizée fan art.
March 20, 2003: School grades started the roller coaster period.
March 25, 2003: Watched the Eurobest function
April 15, 2003: Got "Mes Courants Electriques"
April 29, 2003: Started practicing drums
July 12, 2003: Birthday, present was a short trip to Paris.
July 29, 2003: Had an inch-stack of Alizée fan art, some horrible, some viable, some fine.
September 1, 2003: Desired to attend her concert, fell into further insanity with the beautiful ACC performances.
January 7, 2004: Le Zenith
August 1, 2004-July 17, 2005: Emotional period of twists and turns, discovery of Chatelain, suicidal tendencies and occasional spurts of creative power.
July 20, 2005: Listened to Ensiferum's "Iron" album, and kicked off the emotional period.
Present Day: I really don't know.

My story is short.
Got home from a wonderful world trip in august 2008 with no clue about what I wanted to do in life. Started to work at my dads work to be able to pay off debts and to have anything to do at all. Then one day at work I heard Jeam on the radio.
The music was ok in my ears, but I found the song funny due to some words sounding like a wierd sentence in Swedish. I don't know why but I decided to look it up when I got home from work, and there she was. The YouTube spam period began followed by the craving for higher quality which led me to this site.
I never even thought about the forum until one day when I saw this thread saying "Which WoW character would Alizée play?" or something like that. I thought it to be really funny and started to read some of the threads. I realized there were seemingly normal and grown up people being fans of Alizée, which got me interested. I started to post and made some threads, my journey took me deeper into the fandome of Alizée and branched off into diffrent spores of energy.
I suddenly wanted so much more out of life. I wanted to learn all these kinds of things, all these kinds of ways to express myself. I wanted to compose music, learn to draw, write stories, create games, learn about new languages and cultures, invent all these kinds of crasy stuff I would never had thought of before....
In overall, I recieved this great urge for creating things.
Today, I still don't know which proffession to chose, but unlike before it's because I don't know which one of the many paths to pick.
She did something to me. Call it love, attraction, desire, lust, adoration, respect, inspiration, whatever you wish...
The light she gives to me I will never shun.

I told this story before.....doesnt hurt to post it again i suppose. I was in France in the year 2001 sometime after i accidently told my minions to ram those hijacked planes into some biuldings.....saw Moi Lolita and Gormandises on TV, liked it, bought the CD and put it onto my ipod, left it there for 2 or 3 years, forgot all about Alizée. Searched her up one day after listening to gourmandises, (which to this day remains my most favorite in her name) and found a new album, bought this one too and after a few weeks of her songs and catching up with everything shes done, i became a somewhat devoted fan. After En Concert, i forgot about her again, though she remained at the back of my mind, i searched her up once every one or two months, and somewhere in 2006 i found this site. Came here for news on her and when Alizée came back with Psychédélices, I became a devoted fan once more. Sometime in 2007, i was really depressed and came here to cheer me up, to this day, i dont know what is it on this site that perks me up. But that was what made me decide to join this forum.
. Before this, I thought the idea of liking foreign music was just plain bad, and I was constantly thinking to myself "there's no way I will become a fan of this, I don't want to be a fan of this." .

well, here's my story...
a year ago my sister had an offer to pursue her studies at mcgill, canada. she accepted it and decided to learn some french since she said that people at montreal mostly speak french(right?). so there's one night when i was watching supernatural while my sister that time was doing something with her laptop and was laughing ecstatically. i felt distracted and decided to see what's going on(i actually can't stand people distracting me while i'm watching my favourite tv series:p). guess what, she found alizee on the internet and she's actually trying to sing jeam but eventually she's just ruining the song, especially when it came to chorus. she just can't get the pronunciation right. i found it pretty funny and i actually joined her:D. it's kinda funny, but hey, we had fun. but the power of alizee really got me. the song jeam kept playing in my head since the first time i heard it. i kept borrowing my sister's ipod and kept tuning to jeam like, 10 times a day. the song's just extremely addictive! my life officially changed when my sister showed me the jeam clip, i found that alizee's pretty cute while my sister thought that alizee's a weird person.haha. so to make the story short, i went to youtube to watch more of alizee videos and stumbled upon her incredible cuteness and amazing personality. she's just awesome!
my alizee madness begins....;)(and i don't see an ending for it...)

Howdy Picked this up off another thread, I hope Rachalizee dosent mind, and thought it would be fun to travel down memory lane and share our first Alizee encounter.
Have some fun, thanks Rachalizee;)
I actually saw this film at the cinema and I really liked it and , believe it or not , it was through this movie that my Alizée fandom began. As soon as "Moi...Lolita" started playing in the film it seemed so familiar to me but I couldn't place where from.I enjoyed the rest of the film but a nagging thought remained.
Anyway after much investigating and digging around ( i.e. I asked a few friends) I realised it was from a couple of years earlier. It was when I was doing a study exchange in Morocco and one of the girls I was staying with had the song on some mixed CD or other and had played it to death.I found I couldn't get the tune out of my head ( in a good way ) having rediscovered it again so I took a gamble and bought "Gourmandises" on CD.Now hooked , "MCE" followed then "En Concert" on DVD and the rest , as they say , is history.
So thank you Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe for setting me on the journey that has so far taken in Moscow and will in a few weeks time take me to Paris once more.

I first saw Alizee singing JEAM on Best of Metacafe Videos. That was in 2006. Been hopelessly hooked ever since. Bought all 3 albums,Psychedelise, Tout Alizee from Mexico and a double CD from South Korea with La Isla Bonita on it, and I caný wait for the new CD to come out. Alizee is the only music I play in my car. She puts me at ease and in a good mood.

I was trying to download a movie back in 2002, Bourne Identity I think. I guess someone mislabeled the file because I ended up with the vid, Moi...Lolita. I became intrigued with the girl and found out she was an 18 year old french pop singer. I looked up her music and Vini Vidi Vici sounded interesting so I bought the whole album.
I found her music to be very soothing. I had gotten my heart broken by a girl that left me for another guy (typical for my luck with women). The music had really helped me cope, especially since all my closest friends left me high and dry in my solitude. Six months of being brokenhearted with no one to talk too, I damn near went crazy. The sad part is, I had a repeat of this shit while stationed in Korea and that incident was 10 times worse. To this day, I still have trouble trying to get over my former friends, co-workers, and commander trying to destroy my Air Force career; but I digress...
After awhile, I finally decided to rebuild my shattered self esteem. That's when I started getting into body building. I built up the courage to get the hell away from my home by enlisting in the Air Force. Yeah, as funny as it is, Alizée is the real reason I joined the Air Force. Not to try and meet her, I just wanted to meet women from other places. Because of Alizée, I wanted to go overseas and find a foreign wife. :)
Ironically, I'm still single 7 years later. I've had nothing but bad relationships even with women from other countries. Unlike most of her male fans, I do have a grip on reality and don't have fantasies about marrying her. Her music serves as a reminder that there are actually decent women out there even though I seem to only get involved with unfaithful whores. I probably wont even need her music once I find that special someone. I'd be to worried that it would upset my woman, but that's just how I think. :p
I often wonder what Alizée would think if she knew that her music motivated someone to find their better half.

Moi Lolita was released at a time where my brother was learning French at school. It came on the music channel for the 1st time & he was watching trying to understand it, and I was watching with no intention of understading as I was 10! I really had a crush on her from watching the video and I'd watch music channels religiously for months to see the video time & time again.
Then family stuff went on, my dad moved to Prague for work purposes & we were stuck in England, obviously the family situation took over...In 2006 I was playing a football (soccer to you guys!) game in a town called Weymouth in England. I was told to warm up during half time when I heard the song that I recognised but couldn't put my hands on what it was. I asked the man working the entertainment & he told me. When the game was over JPVA was playing & I put 2 & 2 together that it was her again so when I returned to Birmingham (UK) I had a mega Alizée searching weekend, and purchased Gourmandises & MCE.
While over-playing both albums I found out about Psychedelices, which was the 1st thing my dad bought for me when he returned to England, which is now 1 of my favourite albums.
Pretty long & boring, but hey!

Wow!! I started this thread 24 hours ago and almost 1500 looks and 69 repies, this is way cool, loved reading the stories of finding Alizee. This is more than a fan site, I would call it a phenom phorum!
Guess I should post my story, Somehow between browsing for Sir Richard Branson and looking at exotic cars youtube decided to offer L' Bonita as a reccomended video, guess those search engines have a soul after all. Of course I clicked on Alizees face and just about fell out of my chair watching, and rewatching. This was the old version she made pre vacation, just her voice 12 strings and drums. Thats all talent needs to shine, next Moi...Lolita at the Olympic and it was over. Hook line and sinker, this fish was hooked and their was absolutely no need to fight. Of course the biker neighbor showed up and said something along the lines of if it aint Led Zeppelin it wasnt for him, hes still fightin it. This all occured last month so as I discover new vids it only strengthens. Just watched the vid where Alizee sings to Jessica in the shoe store, OMG the tears ran down my cheeks to my heart,
folks this is the good stuff................
Been around long enough to know what music can do, have liked all kinds of music from Van Halen to Faith Hill with a little Spice Girls with my daughter thrown in for flavor, we already have witnessed what Alizee has already done, I feel blessed to be able to pull up a front row seat to see whats next.
Lots more but if Alizee came to America she could own the world, nothin here can touch her. :p
Wow!! I started this thread 24 hours ago and almost 1500 looks and 69 repies
Most of them are actually older, KC (the dates are on top of each post). I merged this with a couple existing threads on the same subject. Sorry for any confusion.
Anyway, I'm sure I've shared my story before, but couldn't find it at the moment. I first heard Alizée back in 2001 when my bother returned from a summer study-abroad in Germany. He played an mp3 of Moi Lolita for me, saying it was a big club hit there, and we both really liked it. The following summer he went back, and I met him in Paris. We saw the music video for Moi Lolita on TV during that trip, and I thought Alizée was very pretty. I'd always associate her with my first trip to Europe. But that was about it for a few years. I didn't look her up further until summer 2004. I was searching for new music then and remembered the track. Downloaded both albums, listened to Mes Courants Électriques first, and the rest is history. :)
Hey that is an interesting story. Thanks for sharing. Good luck with women.
A Bourne fan I see.

I'm sure I must've posted this story before, probably under another thread, couldn't find it in this one so I'll retell it.
I found out about Alizée about 2 years ago. I work for an airline and travel fairly often and I like to watch music videos on the flights.
I liked the song Hung Up by Madonna, so I searched for the music video on Youtube. I downloaded her video. Didn't really like the video for the song but I had noticed some other hits for the song. One was a video by a Danish group that someone had dubbed in the audio from Hung Up. I really enjoyed this version so that gave me the idea to look for other versions of videos I already had.
I had just found this one of Madonna's so I figured I'd start with Madonna. Did a search of Madonna. One of the songs that came up was La Isla Bonita. I did another search of this title and that's when I first saw Alizée's picture.
I played the video and was amazed but at the same time I thought, I've seen beautiful artists before with beautiful voices sing other people's songs, but have nothing of their own. So I searched under Alizée and the rest is history.
I watched the Moi Lolita video in Amsterdam first. Mainly because Amsterdam was one of the cities where I spent my honeymoon and I enjoyed it there. What an incredible video. The music, her singing, the setting, her dancing, such poise for a young singer. I didn't realize how young she was until weeks later. I don't know how many times I watched that video that night, but the neighbors probably know (lol)! Watched J'en ai marre (chanson #1) and I was hooked.
I've taken the time to learn the French lyrics to seven of her songs now and I'm working on number eight. Not to bad for someone who only had a couple of years of French way back in junior high school over 30 years ago.
It's kind of ironic how Madonna's "Hung up" led me to Alizée and then she winds up singing that song herself.

Two years ago, I noticed a group of woman except one, who wore the Chinese style of cloths during their unique dancing. I assumed that what they were dancing and singing must be related to oriental culture. Turned out that the "J'ai pas 20 ans" has everything but oriental culture. She tricked me to catch a common disease among the fans in this board, Alizee addition, but I have been very grateful to have this disease.

Bourne ain't got shit on Bryan Mills.
And thanks for the luck, lord knows I need it. I recently made myself look like a week pathetic fool. I maybe a fool, but I'm not week. Everyone around here buries their issues in cigarettes and alcohol, I take it to the gym. Those same idiots have been trying to screw me out of my crosstrain cuz they're jealous that I took the initiative to get out of security forces. I've never been to a place that tries to drag so many people down, I can't wait to leave...
I learned a few things though. Don't flirt with women when stressed from work and dieting. All work and no chocolate makes Rob a dull boy. :)

I wish I could say exactly how I discovered Alizée but I can't remember. All I remember is that I was living at my dad's place after graduating from college and I was watching Moi... Lolita on my computer. It wasn't her looks that made me keep watching the clip, it was her voice that captivated me. I don't remember how the video got onto my computer but I'm sure I downloaded it off the internet somewhere. After my computer got wiped out, I lost the video clip and didn't try to find it again.
Last year, I was bored at work and was thinking of my college years because my 10th year high school reunion was coming up. So, I was looking up old friends from college and high school and I looked up Alizée as well. As an aside, I never really knew how powerful the internet was until I started looking up people. It's scary how many people you can find with just a name, location, and some time. Anyways, I found her latest CD, Psychédélices, and started listening to it. I heard a song with Juliet, Roméo, and Shakespeare and I wanted to know what the song was all about so I came here for a translation. Since then, I've been learning French. She has corrupted me. Oh well, I'll just deal with it.
My Brother-In-Law Downloaded The Jem Video So He Got Me To Watch This Video.I Was Hooked That Was 2 Years Ago. A Year Ago Christmas I Remembered That Video So I Searched U-Tube An Got Hooked On Her Moi Lolita VideoWhich Led To Her Other Videos. Was Able To Buy Her Mes Courants Electriques & Gourmandises At A Local Record Shop. I Plan On Buying En Concert & Psychedelices In Paris.:D

From what I can remember, the first time I heard/saw Alizée was early summer 2006, when two of my mates were watching Moi… Lolita and JEAM (blue dress) live videos and were excited about the upskirt dance. I didn’t really care at the moment and thought it was kind of pathetic trying to get a glimpse of here panties.
Anyway, looked her up later at home, thought the music was good too. Did more or less forgot about her over the years, though I watched the videos I had saved from time to time, and downloaded Psychédélices when it came.
And to make a long story with lack of content short, in august or something 2008 when I felt a bit down, I watched the videos and I don’t know, the famous Alizée Magic® just hit me like a lightning from clear sky and now I’m here.

I actually told my story about how I found out about Alizée to the regular visitors of the Bar and Grill chatroom, and I regret it because it's pretty embarassing.
I'm not going to tell it here, but if you really want to know, just catch me on the Vent server that jung_ADORE-ALIZEE set up.
If you want a small summary. It has to do with bread, fondue, and a lot of kissing. That's all I'm going to say. :) But yeah, these are all really interesting stories.

I'm not too sure how I discovered Alizee. In fact I ask myself that question that I have found myself spending money on her albums through iTunes, and buying a copy of 'A Good Year' featuring her 'Moi...Lolita' song. Now I'm even a member of this website talking to other Alizee fans about her. I don't know if it is her beauty or music that is captivating. Probably a both, maybe mainly for her looks, but her music is just as intoxicating. My mother is visiting France with her students and I've asked her to pickup a copy of Alizee's latest album since iTunes (US) has not yet uploaded to their database. ;( But either way, here I am and I'm totally happy to be a part of a group of Alizee lovers. ;)

Well, my story begins about 2-4 years ago (sorry I have a really bad memory). One of my friends and I were surfing youtube and we watched the "World Of Warcraft: Dancing" video, saw Alizée and we thought "WTF!!? A French singer??!”. So we looked the music video of J'en Ai Marre and didn't touch the subject of Alizée again for about those 2-4 years.
Then one day a few months ago, I found myself bored s***less on the internet. I was searching for random stuff, so I decided to look at some World Of Warcraft videos. I found the very same video again, saw Alizée dancing the J'en Ai Marre dance and started watching the JAM video. OMG was I hooked?!? Then I started listening to Fifty/Sixty, J’ai Pas Vingt Ans and Moi… Lolita. My friend couldn’t care less about her, but I had to have Gourmandises. My family insisted on getting me ACC and Psych for X-mas (note I’m fourteen).

Hi everybody,
this is my first post here, but I've been lurking around for a while so I thought I'd share my story with you.
Moi...lolita was a huge hit in Europe and here in Italy too so I knew about Alizèe from the start:I liked her and I liked the song, but I was more into rap music at the time even if I always liked pop and always bought pop cd's.
For a while I did not think too much about her and I thought she only made one album and that was it.
In the small town where I live I only could get broadband access in march of 2008 so I wasn't able to watch videos or download anything. When they finally put adsl lines on(and to this day it seems like a miracle!)I started watching stuff on youtube and around the web to make up for the lost time when I could only read and watch pics!
I stumbled on the JEAM official video and I remembered it(they used to play it on TV here in Italy)and I was hooked!
I bought all 3 albums, started reading about her and really liked everything about Lili.
I managed to get a copy of her en concert DVD(wasn't published here)and some other live performances like the "acostic" one(THANKS to this website!)and my liking her became adoration.
It's not only her beauty or her music. It's something in her smile and the sparkling in her eyes that really lets you know that she's special.I don't know how to put it,but watching her singing or just beeing interviewed is addictive and I just can't keep myself from smiling when I see her.
One word for this forum:I really like the atmosphere here.I often go to other message boards about sports or politics or whatever and I'm really fed up (ehehe) with all the fighting and name calling over stupid stuff and internet tough guys and all that. Here everyone seems to be smart and funny at 15 or 50 years old.
Is it that Alizèe only attracts this kind of people or is it her light that shines upon us and makes us better persons?:);)
Take care and sorry for the long post

Oh, and may I just say that you are a lucky bastard for living in Italy. I traveled there a couple years ago and was amazed by everything about the place: the architecture, the food, the history, the art, and...yes...the women .

Ah, the 76ers are a good team. They are on the verge of an upward curve, while the Mavs are surely on the cusp of a downward one. I'm neutral on the Devin Harris trade. I think it was stupid in the long run, but effective for the short run. Hopefully, we can make a good trade this summer and compete for the title again.

I'm a bit of a latecomer to this thread, but here goes...
Up until Oct 2007 I had only heard of Alizée through my brother - who one day showed me 2 or 3 pics and played me an mp3 of "I'm fed up". I found it cute, but somehow forgot about it.
In Oct 2007 I bought a 2nd hand computer from a friend at work - who gave me a few music videos as bonus.
The 1st clip I saw was the "J'en ai marre" performance of 15 March 2003. She blew me away. I thought she was just super sexy, super charming and a super talented singer / dancer. The french version of the song was also exquisitely more appealing.
The 2nd clip, was a performance of "J'ai pas vingt ans" in an outdoor stage near the coast, in Holland - a clip that I do not see on the forum !
Her energy, agility and vitality was just amazing.
But the clincher was the "A contre-courant" performance of 6 Sep 2003.
I fell head over heels for that ethereal smile and warm, luminous eyes - especially during the music interlude. I absolutely loved everything about the song and her delivery of it too. During the interview she was just so cute - I just wished I could reach into the screen, throw her over my shoulder, carry her home and live happily ever after. (Later, to my dismay, I found out that she was married, of course).
After that, naturally followed ordering Gourmandises, Mes Courants Electriques and the En Concert DVD (which cost me a fortune and took 3 very long months to arrive), then flying 10,000km to Europe to buy Psychédélices (which is simply not available in SA) and of course visiting a very rain flooded Ajaccio, Corsica from 28-31 May 2008 and watching Lilly perform live at the NRJ Music Tour at the Arena de Genève on 5 June 2008.
After all this time, there is still hardly a day that goes by, that I do not listen to her music or watch video clips of her. I simply can't get enough of the amazing phenomenon that is Alizée. Now I'm just counting the days to the release of her new album...
mine is:
i was wachting the TV, in a music channel called "Telehit" i saw the video of Mademoiselle Juliette, when i saw her, i said to me "oh my god she's very very beautiful, i wrote the name in my hand, then i searched her in the internet, while i was looking for information about her, i found this forum and i joined here.

I know the hows of how I discovered her but not the whys. I'm a long-time science fiction/fantasy fanboy so back in November, about two weeks before Thanksgiving, I was looking for videos about Star Trek in general and William Shatner in particular on YouTube. Somehow, when I searched for the SNL "Get a Life!" skit with William Shatner (http://snltranscripts.jt.org/86/86hgetalife.phtml), the "pour Laurette" version of JEAM came up in the Related Videos panel. At the time I had no idea who she was so I ignored it.
However, a few days later curiosity got the best of me so I entered the same search terms and the JEAM video came up again but this this time I clicked it. Great googly moogly! :D  I hadn't been that happy in a while! So, I spent all night and into morning finding and watching all the Alizée videos I could find. I then bought her albums and became a hardcore fan. I know it's been said many time here but I have to say I have never heard a voice so angelic in my life even though I'm older than dirt. And I can think of only two other singers, Edith Piaf and Patsy Cline, who can affect me so emotionally with their singing.
So, while I still don't know how her video came up in that search I'm just going to thank my lucky stars that it did. ;)

okay...
I discovered Alizée 2001 when Moi..Lolita became huge in Germany... I visited a classmate and we worked together on a school project (I guess it was something about a sect for religion) and her TV was on... suddenly Moi.. Lolita starts (I had never heared the song before) and I was pretty fascinated by this kind of music... not just only be the music...finally the clip was great was well and the girl was cute... but it wasn't the clip or the girl what had have fascinated my so much.... this song was soooo awesome! But I just had seen the clip a second time and that was all I know about this... to be honest - I never remember the name of the girl and I had no idea who was singing this catchy song... and at the beginning I didn't really noticed in which language she sung... I weren't sure if this was italian or french *blushing*...but everytime I have heard ML on the radio it makes me happy... you maybe ask yourself why I never known her name? So... I'm not the kind of person who is watching MTV, Viva and all these stupid music stations... at least I never watch it... I was never really interested... and I don't know why but I never got the idea to type "Lolita" and "singer" or "song" into google... I don't remember if we have known google in 2001... argh...
Well... time passed by... I never forget the song and that curious because I'm that kind of person: I hear a song at a radio station, I find the music fine and great for two or three weeks and then I forget about it... music was never really important to me and because of that I have no idea about current songs or something like that... I don't know much about music and singers... I have just a few songs I listen more often and keep them in my mind... and when I hear a song in the radio it's 99% sure that I don't know who is singing it...
but back to Alizée! As I said - seasons changed, years passed by and I didn't got Moi.. Lolita out of my mind... and than something happens...
I was sitting infront of the TV (it was in 2003, I guess I had to be in late spring or the in summer... dunno) and then some stupid commercials flickered across the screen... and suddenly there was it! just a short spot. About a special album... MCE!!! Okay, I didn't know that it was Alizée but the voice in the background said something like "Here is the new album of the french singer who had sung Moi.. Lolita". It was like an electric shock! I remembered the song and I was happy cause now I KNEW who that french girl was... and after that I went to the next CD shop and bought both albums...
so by two flukes I get to know Alizée and listened Gourmandises and MCE all day long and my mum was going crazy... always the same CDs...
I fall in love with her voice first I have heared Moi Lolita... but now I discovered the true beauty of Alizées voice... it was amazing... I was bewitched by every note, every line, every melodie... and by Alizée!
she is one of the best things which had happened in my life and also with twice cancelled concerts in the past - I would never say that I wasted my time... because without her my life would not be complete... I would miss her too much... okay I'm going offtopic...
P.S. If there are some mistakes in my post I'm sorry....

Ok, sort of long story... well I suck at making these things short actually; but here goes:
My boyfriend used what he thought was a good pickup line on me the first time he finally got the courage to approach me (that didn't come out right and I can't fix it in my head, so I'll just fess up that I was still too nervous to go up to him first...)... :o He said that I looked exactly what he thought Alizee would look like if she were my age and a cheerleader (he must have been hallucinating about my hair or something). It didn't mean much to me when he said that... But he was cute, mainly 'cuz of how nice he was being and how he was trying so hard to not scare me off or anything - and putting himself through heck stressin' over it.
His sister was watching when he finally walked away and came up to me and told me who Alizee was, and that he had her pictures everywhere, always talked about, listened to her music, etc... He was even planning on taking French! When she said he was always spouting off about how she was "the prettiest girl ever born" or something I realized what he was trying to say... Poor guy was too geeky to realize that I might not know who the singer was (I'm just as geeky, in many many ways).
I chased after him before he got far, and made the more firm commitment answer to his "let's hang out and talk" thing - for a "first date" he asked me over to his house for rootbeer floats and what he'd asked around to learn was my favorite movie! How cool is that? So I told him what his sister told me, and asked if she was that pretty (how could I possibly compete with her?!) and if he meant what he'd said to me. He didn't even pause to take a breath when he excitedly said yes. That's about the time when my friends and his sister caught up with me/us and started teasing me (his sis was giving him a hard time) about my bright red face and goofy shyness...
Long story short, I kissed his cheek and told him I'd definitely make it - as long as Daddy said it was ok - and the rest is history, as they say... He showed me some of her videos and songs, and of course the insane amount of pics (he must have scoured the web something fierce!) and forgot to hide the pic he'd gotten of me from the local paper which was practically in the middle of all his Alizee pics (the printed ones). That was almost 2 years ago... We're still dating, and yes... I'm a fan of Alizee's too now. :)

Yup yup great story CP (can we call you that or would you rather your full name?) thanks for telling us. I am pretty shocked it worked too though lol, oh well cool to hear things worked out and you are now a fan as well, welcome to the forums.
I have only met one other fan around where I live, but unluckily it was another guy lol, he went to my high school and since I often talked about Alizée around my friends one of them found out this other guy listened to her and told me. He came up and talked to me for a little bit about her but that was about it. Still kinda cool to know that I wasn't the only fan in my school.

that's like exactly the same story with me, only it was a friend, not a relative.
now the question to be asked it.. whos's the "bigger, aka more obssessive" fan?? cuz the friend that hooked me up just liked her because she was hot, whereas i love her personality and music.
needless to say, i annoy him by talking about Alizee too much! :D

Don't worry, we can tell that you're not a YouTube commentator from simple things, like your:
Full sentences
Capital letters where appropriate
Lower-case letters where appropriate
Spelling and punctuation
Lack of being a twit
...so there's no need to mention it :D
OMG! That is SOOO funny! I have a friend that does that sort of silly YouTube and MySpace stuff ALL THE TIME! I want to take her scrunchie and ring her neck with it when she texts me 'cuz I can't hardly understand half of what she's saying!
For example:
"wu 3P? Kttn+SlyJly+Stfy+Me R goin 2 J&Js 4 lunch. RU in or RU stay w/ Flyppr agn? LMK asap! OMT=Tara:Wear dark uni tmrw school; game wear alt uni: TTFN! Op"
That's an EASY one to read, too! A few "deciphering" helpers... 3P, as you guess is me. I've "earned" the nickname "pretty princess" before my name (Yes, my name really is Pixie.) 'cuz I take a lot of time to get my hair, makeup, and clothes just right - and princess, 'cuz... well, I'm a princess... *gasp* No! Whatever... Like nobody knew that already! :p I only own twice as many of skirts and/or dresses as my three bff's combined!
Kttn = Kitten. That's "KatieLynn".
SlyJly = is how Op (Ophelia) puts Jillian's name in texts (for "silly Jilly" - Jillian is a regular comedian; she could give Leno, et al. a run!)
Stfy = Stefano, who we call Steffy or Stephanie. No, he's not "sweet that way" or anything - he just likes skirts b/c he is into protesting clothing by gender, or anything else restricted or judged by gender for that matter. I don't know if he does it 'cuz he really believes in it, or if its just something to do, or something to get attention, or to irritate parents... But he's cool, and he always takes care of anything he borrows. :) He also makes the BEST homemade Churros! Yummy! Anything so sweet with lots of Cinnamon *giggle giggle* HAS to be good - just ask me or my bf - we know! (My middle name is Cinnamon - hence my giggles at the really obvious pun).
Flyppr = Fly paper; Ophelia's (and no one else's) teasing name for my bf. She says I'm like Tinkerbell caught in his arms once we get together - it takes a real effort to get us apart... We're not really that bad- honest.
The last, a memo from Tara, the capt. of the cheerleading team, for me to know what the plan was as to which uniform(s) I needed the next day...
I would have posted the really bad message she sent me a few weeks ago, but I guess I deleted it (or Daddy did) from my phone already. I swear if it had two words (in whole) in it I'd be surprised! I looked at it and was like huh?! o_0

Ok, I'm officially an airhead tonight! :o
Yeah, you guessed it... I found that message right after posting that last... Figures...
See if this makes sense to anyone (It was sent in four REALLY FAST pieces). The last piece I had to change the bracket to { 'cuz it was thinking what followed was in an HTML tag... :p Oh well... You'll get the idea anyway. When you get to that line, just read "f{r" as "f>r" (reverse that > though). It really doesn't hurt to have that changed though, this whole message is just !

Sure you can call me that... It's not "TP" like a girl down the road from me would be if we used her initials... So I am ok with that. ;) That or you can call me Pixie, or Cinnamon... Just not a mashed up mess of my screen name (you get "CinPixie"... or "Sin pixie"... sounds like a porn "actress" or hentai character or something. And I don't like that, at all!) But CP, is fine if it's easier for you guys. :) I'm pretty easy going.

Um... :o You've gone and embarrassed me now. :) Thanks...
Like I said, I considered a compliment once I realized how much he ado... no, worships, her. At the time, well... It was just sorta weird. It'd be like a Canadian girl coming up to you and saying she saw you rollerblading and thought you were the walking image in her head of what she thought Maurice Richard would look like on rollerblades! It'd be a huge compliment, once you knew who the heck Rocket Richard was and how much she idolized him.
You DO know who Maurice "Rocket" Richard is, don't you?
Where can you find someone like me? Hmmm??? My bf (reading over my shoulder, and giving them a nice rubbing) says, "Good luck, and hands off! This pretty little Pixie's mine... unless..." He's about to put his foot in his mouth, I'm not even listening to his 'thinking out loud' but I know it... Wait for it.... "Unless Alizee asks me out... No... That'd be just a date..." He's digging... If she asks him to marry her... LOL He says, you can have me... LOL... I'm laughing at him... Anyone got a shovel for him? He loves to dig himself holes! :D
Thanks for the welcome Mavsluver... I'm gonna go now... I need to put a certain bf in the doghouse now.
Alizee ask him to marry her... Rich! LOL

As a Leafs fan, I am of course officially required to hate him (since he was a Canadien :p), but there's no questioning that he was one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. He's as much of a national icon to us as Babe Ruth or Joe Dimaggio would be to Americans.

05-22-2009, 02:57 AM
lol. i have asked my music-teacher, but she don't know her..
maybe my french teacher knows her?:p
My bff's big brother took french in HS a few years ago and his teacher knew of her and her songs... In fact, she made a comment about her "j'ai pas vingt ans" song to reference how the sentence structure worked...
My bff & I had no idea until he heard the song one day while we were painting eachother's toenails and he poked his head in and asked if that's what the the singer had just said... We said yeah, and he told us about that day in class - and we got him (at least somewhat) into Alizee too! :)
Hey CP, you got a sister?
Yeah, but she's too little for you... I PROMISE you that she is - unless you're destined to be on a "Dateline" undercover special in about 5-6 years... Sorry.
Besides, she has Momma's way super curly hair anyway... She couldn't pull off an Alizee look, unless her hair straightens out as she gets to be my age...
Wait, you mean...there are actually people who honestly do not know who Rocket Richard is?!

I never said Soccer wasn't tough or that you couldn't get hurt... BUT, on the injury & risk issue, Cheerleading is actually has the HIGHEST rate of injury of any middle school, jr/sr high school, and college level sport! Mostly since the gymnastics and acrobatics have been added in over the last 15-20 years (which is what I enjoy in it - the sideline crap is just BS... it's NOTHING of what the "sport" is - if that's all a cheerleader does (s)he's NOT an athlete - do the other stuff, and there's no argument that they are).
I had a friend get her knee cap busted playing soccer... Just had her leg in the wrong spot at the wrong time, the other girl's plat foot slipped and she spun mid-kick and wound up kicking my friend in the knee full-on... It sounded gross and painful all the way back in the stands. After cringing and grasping my knee (I've hurt mine once or twice bad enough to require orthroscopic surgery - yes, a cheerleading injury! :p ) and I about wanted to cry for her... It hurt just seeing it happen.
Rugby is just silly to me... I've seen the fools that play out in the winter on the river in town here before... It's a hard game to follow at first - getting the gist of the rules I mean... It's harder to understand why someone would want to run around like that in the snow on ice at -20 degrees (F) too! *lol*
The fights, I don't mind, as long as it's not senseless and fighting just for the sake of fighting... If it's an emotional buildup and just plain irritation blowing up that fires up the crowd and team... That's cool... I think the NFL would be better off to have a fighting rule and allow some WR's and CB's (or safeties) go at it once in a while... It'd get the angst out of the players, it'd let those two who are roughing each other up all game long have a chance to get the team fired up... Why not? They're grown boys! They'd learn who and when to do it and not to...
As for NFL being wimps... I won't say that, but I will agree on some level... Run a play for 5-15 seconds... Then rest for more than that... ALL GAME LONG... One game a week (not even that when you add in the bye week)!? You call that a tough schedule?! NHL playoffs have them beat hands down... They play minimum of 16 games (to win the Stanley Cup) in fewer weeks than the entire NFL season takes! And it could be up to 28 games! That's a LOT tougher a playoffs! Especially as hockey can be argued as a tougher game than (American) football.
You take that back !
JK :)
I know what you mean, there are certain players who fit your description, but not all. There are some great guys in the NBA, total team players. Plus, sometimes its fun to watch one guy with a good supporting cast dominate the league (see Michael Jeffrey Jordan :p).
College (most) and women's basketball tends to be a more team-oriented game and those aren't too bad I guess... Still, too much scoring, IMHO, and their fouls seem so subjective and don't make any sense half the time... I mean, why is it that Shaq can knock over a guy just standing there and get away with it, but other players get in trouble for that? And HOW does a person standing in front of you EVER get a foul for just being plain run over?! Do they really just make rules to force you to NOT play solid defense!?
NBA is the "Ego ball" game, almost exclusively, from what I've seen... Too many times I've seen where a player on a team has 40+ points, fewer assists than he's got fingers on one hand (if he can even count that high - the college graduation and reading comp. tests for BBall players is atrocious!)... and what a shock, his team LOST.... Like duh! You've got at least 4 other players on the team with you at all times you jerk! You see this in all sports, I know, but it just seems so much more common and more extreme in BBall...
But yes, I know there's some classy players (MJ and Larry Bird come to mind - anyone in the last, oh I don't know 5-10 years?)
That, and (on a strictly personal interest/participation note) there's no reason for there to even to have cheerleaders at the games.. other than to be there to get run over by sweaty oafs stumbling all over the place (and fans pay more for those first few rows of seats to be included in that really gross and dangerous "fun"?!) I mean, we sit there and get all stiff and sore from the horrid way we sit on the uncomfortable floor and the breaks are too short to do anything... and in pros they (like in all sports these days, sadly - which is why I won't do cheering after college (and only there if I get a scholarship to do it - it's just something to do and b/c my bf plays football, so I have an excuse to almost never miss a game) - they're dressed like their uni's came from Victoria's Secret or something! Um... No thank you! I've got dignity and self respect.)...
but I guess we should try to get this back on topic before someone comes to beat us with the "ban hammer" like a whack-a-mole game or something. :D

The best part is playing in the snow with just short sleaves, shorts, cleats, and shin-guards lol, it may be -20 degrees but when your on the field your moving and running all the time and the adrenaline pumping you dont realize its that cold lol. But I have to say playing in the rain is fun, frustrating and painfull. Fun because, come on its rain its always fun to play in the rain :). Frustrating because the water on the ground slows dwn ur power kicks, and iv had it happen when i shot the dam ball it passed the goaly and instead of bouncing in the goal of he ground it just stop lol right dead in its tack like couple inches from actualy gonig in the goal. painfull are hte dam slide tackles, that is the way i got my knee f-ed up. The guy didnt know how to do it properly missed hte ball compleatly and rose his leg up instead of keeping it down and went right behind my knee cap. i was saying nice stuff to him aftere that lol.
Yeah wasabi idk waht happened lol it switched inot sport section ahahaha. Yeah cheearleaders are one crazy bunch (no offense) but being thrown into teh air that hight no thanks lol, everytime I see that im woundering are they gona catch her lol. But dam are those gorls flexible, again not meaning dirty thoughts :) Sorry.

hahahaa, that's understandable.
as a matter of fact, heres my thoughts:
if you want some fun getting hurt/hurting other people, take up some form of martial arts other than Kung Fu.
now that's fun stuff. kicking the crap outta your friends? what's more entertaining than THAT? :D

Um, sure... Ok... It doesn't take much to make me cold. Any cool breeze just tickling its way across my legs and I'm done! :o
Days when it's really windy out (a cool wind, of course) I HAVE to wear leggings or tights (and shorts ;) ) to try and keep a little warmer since I don't wear a lot of close fitting or tight skirts and dresses (too confining feeling - same reason I wear mostly skirts and dresses to begin with).
But I have to say playing in the rain is fun, frustrating and painfull. Fun because, come on its rain its always fun to play in the rain :). Oh that stinks! Reminds me of the time I lost that bet with my bf (before we were officially "going steady") over what Halloween costume idea we'd go with... I threw a prayer of a shot up, we were playing basketball - whichever of us was leading when his watch timer (set to 30 min) went off would win - as I heard the beeping alerting us it was in the final seconds... I was losing by two points... My shot, if good, was going to be a 3-pt shot. Well, it stuck between the hoop and the backboard! Just wedged right in there like a doorstop between the door and the floor... THAT SUCKED!

 :o Um... uh... wow...
 Ok, serious now... It's alright. I knew what you meant (or, I hoped I knew what you meant and was going to assume I was right anyway). We "flyers" (that's what they call us girls that get tossed up in the air so we zip around like Tinkerbell ;) ) aren't crazy. We're just braver than you big strong scaredy-cat boys. :p Whenever I hear a boy say something like that I just want to (and often do) tease them by offering them one of my frilly skirts to wear. :D
And yes, flexibility IS a requirement for REAL cheerleading (and I guess for the silly sidelines stuff too, but nowhere near as much).
wow guys, remind me how the badass level of sports relates to how ya'll discovered Alizee?

It's his fault. I'm innocent... Just cute, sweet, and innocent. ;) I would never do anything like hijacking or derailing a forum thread unless I coerced or duped into it... So it has to be Srbski-kralj's fault! :p
I don't know what triggered it, off hand, to be honest... It could be my fault... My on-topic story DID more or less start with me being approached while in my cheerleading uniform... And I'm sure you know how one pretty girl can ruin the concentration and focus of a room full silly boys! ;) (The same way one really cute boy can take the breath away from a room full of girls, ruining any hope they had of keeping focused, eh?) :)

I DO have you beat on the cold weather thing! One winter evening, my bf wanted ice cream (you can't make this stuff up), and we were walking home. It was foggy (ice fog) and below -60 degrees F! We ate the ice cream, he got Strawberry (my favorite, so I couldn't turn it down) at a local place that had great ice cream! We must have broken like 2 dozen plastic spoons on that walk home... It was so cold they kept getting brittle! :D

ok, ya want to hear a cold weather story??
so, my battalion was out on a ftx(field training exercise) in the woods. which was fine, other than the dense vegetation which made patrolling a pain in the butt.
we set up a patrol base in the middle of the woods, and that's where we spent the night. now, i had fire watch at 2am, and since we were to sleep at 1am, i figured id just stay awake till i was done with my shift. so i didn't bother to get my sleeping bag out of my rucksack, and just used my kevlar as a pillow and used my poncho(a thin waterproof plastic poncho) as a blanket.. big mistake.
once my shift was over, i try to sleep, which was uncomfortable due to the fact that i was also sleeping with my rifle. but when i did, it was only for a short time. when i woke up, about 2 hours later, my body was cold to the bone. literally. im not gonna say it was the coldest cold ive ever felt, but i was the most piercing cold i've ever experienced. every part of my body had cooled down when i slept, and couldn't heat back up.
as every guy knows(sorry if this is inappropriate).. your um..groin is always warm right? for me, even that was cold. i remember laying there shivering trying to get warm.. and praying for the order to move out so that i could start moving and warming up. and that order didn't come for another hour.
now that. that was cold.
(and holy crap this is a long post!)

*LOL* I think I can match this; We weren't in just boxers (for obvious reasons), but me and two friends once had to run down the block to another friend's house, ring her doorbell and ask her mom for a cup of sugar... And bring it back to the first friend's house where we were having a sleepover party (like 10 of us or something).
This was, you can probably guess, a dare in Truth or Dare; we had to do this wearing just leotards and tutus, and 'ballet slipper' shoes (if you silly boys don't know what those are, go visit Google ;) ). It was cold enough that we had been throwing coffee up in the air earlier that evening (when it's cold enough outside, a mug of hot coffee will simply vanish if you toss it out of the mug! Really, it totally does!). All in all it was about a 5-min. run to & from the house. Very cold!

i think JEAM is like the pinnacle Alizee song that draws in the dudes.
espeically if its the video of her dancing in that black outfit with the goldfish.
OR her eyes in La Isla Bonita.
both very appealing.
Hiyo, I'm the new person here, so forgive for the necrobump m(_ _)m
My introduction to Alizee was rather strange...it all started with my love for Japanese Anime cartoons, which I watched a lot 10 years ago on Mexican TV (I live in TX but we had access to channels). One such show was "Los Caballeros del Zodiaco".
So around November of last year, I found out that they had finally put that show to DVD, and I bought the set. Always a fan of the extras on DVDs, I turned to those first. Lo and behold, there were two videos that had nothing to do with Caballeros del Zodiaco, but were introduced by an animated Tinkerbell, so I thought, oh bonus kids' stuff from Disney or something.
The videos were La Isla Bonita, followed by J'en Ai Marre (the video where she's dancing in the black outfit with the goldfish butt). Smart move on these people, because La Isla Bonita was one of my fav songs of the 80s, and her rendition of it was rather excellent. By the time J'en Ai Marre was over, I had surrendered my soul to her :D
Corny maybe in that last sentence, but really, I was so moved by her dance I had to look her up on youtube. The rest well...you all know :D
Wow that was pretty interesting how you discovered Alizée :O, I also owe a Mexican TV station my thanx for showing me Alizée XD

.....well this kinda late for me to post this but who cares :D jeje. Well I discovered Alizée by watching a mexican entertainment program called Ventaneando, they were showing some footage of a mall in MX city that I had visited, so I sat down and saw what "chaos" had happenned..... When suddenly they show Alizée in a press conference from the day before I was like she is NO mexican girl she is an angel! , " who is she" i was amazed by the beuty and proof that Angels exists XD. The next day at school remembered what i had seen the day b4 but couldnt remember her name... I went crazy! After 30 min of intensive research finally!= Alizée At that moment I was hypnotized and in love with Alizée not knowing anything about her music(didnt havd access to the web at my house yet) so during summer in MX my cousin has internet so I decided to check out if she could sing..no any high hopes XD...onxe again I was surprised and amazed! And as Vil said you guys know what happened next...hrs and hrs on Youtube lol half a yr later found Alizée America and decided to join the group!
Was it TV Azteca? I think I saw a clip on youtube where some news anchors on TV Azteca were reflecting on Alizee's success in Mexico. I'll have to find it again :D
Thanks for the welcome TheBarret :) I want to get to know more about Alizee of course and chat with her fans!
My random "freak-out" moment: last month I was in Spain doing study-abroad, and as I was walking home from the uni, there was some kind of music system (might have been one of those radio station vans that play music out of the back of their van), and they started playing "Moi Lolita". I was like OMG they're playing Alizee!!

I discovered Alizée when I was listening to RMF - polish most popular music radio, it was about 1:30 AM, because I can't sleep that night(thanks to that:)) Some kind redactor(thanks for him too), after the informations, announced hit by young and beautiful Corsican singer named Alizée, and then played Moi... Lolita, I was stunned by voice and music. Next day I found music video of Moi... Lolita, I have seen Alizée, and that was a great shock, I was staring at clip, one, two, five times, I don't remember. Then...
... easy to guess what came next:)

Wow I wish I had seen this thread before, I would have posted earlier.
I guess that for all Lilly fans, the story of how they discovered her is very special to them, or at least it is for me. Here's how I discovered Alizée:
One time back in January ('09) I was over at my cousin's house and I had brought my laptop and my cousin and I were playing games on our computers. Anyway, I got a little hungry and went to their kitchen where my parents and my uncle were seated and my uncle asked me if he could borrow my laptop to show my parents something. I was a little reluctant because I was having fun but I brought my laptop over and he went on youtube and showed my parents and me one of the "J'en Ai Marre" performances. At first I though it was just another pretty face and actually ignored the video, but after it was done, the music and her lovely voice was stuck in my head and it would not get out. The next day I woke up and I still couldn't get it out. I went to my laptop and checked my internet history and looked for the video and really watched it for the first time. I was stunned, I was mesmerized, the list goes on. After a day or two I started downloading her videos, and just searching her name on Google to find more about her. After a week or two I found this site and checked it out every now and then. Too bad I waited 'till July to join but at least I'm here now. And that's how this little red fish was hooked!

My story:
I was watching T.V. one night and I happened to stumble on the World Music Awards. Right then the hosts introduced her and she came out and performed Moi...Lolita. I could not tear my eyes away. She was wearing a really short skirt and her butt practically hanging out from the skirt... Anyway, I was like Who is that girl? So the next day at school I searched her and voila, I was introduced to Alizée. This was back in 2002. Wow, I'm old.

"Spazmeets"? I do hope that was sarcasm, or a teasing joke, because otherwise it comes across very prima donna. Even I'm not that much of a drama queen! :)
Back in 2001 (old i know :p), i saw the Moi...Lolita video on TV, and later a saw an award show where she performed L'alizé. Talking about this performance (http://vdb.alizee.cz/browse.php?nid=100).
Always remembered who she was but after 2001 she wasn't that succesfull anymore over here so people forgot about her. But i rediscovered her music & stuff somewhere last year.

When it all started back in February 2000, M6 Graines de Star, 9pm.
I remember it like it was yesterday, I think I was 12 or 13 not sure, anyway I was sitting on the couch with my brother, we were pretty much bored, my sister was crying as always, mother cooking stuff...
Honestly, I really didn't expect what I was about to discover, but like, in no way I thought I could be hooked on someone in just a few seconds, and god knows at 12(13) it's easy to fall in love.
Yep, I even remember what kind of crappy TV we had back then, the same one I broke a few months later :p, and I can't believe how long it's been, HOLY COW! Time flies!
I couldn't sleep after the show, hah, the day after I really was lost, I didn't know by the time that I had just taken a one way trip to Lilly town, with not enough "money" for the way back.
Oh hell yeah first post!

It's strange I know, I've been following the website for a while now, then I moved and internet started to become a real *bip* so I had no internet () for about a year, then a few months ago everything went back to normal.
The problem is that now, there is so much more on these forums, it's gonna be hard to keep up... I don't know where to start.

That's really cool, she conquered your heart already with "Ma prière"?
I learned about her humble beginnings many years later, found the Graines de Star Vid by chance on tube...she sure looked sweet with 15, even before the transformation into "Lolita". She already had this wonderful smile.. :)

Well I don't know, I look back and I feel the same way but I don't see what happened clearly, it wasn't the song itself as I didn't really know Axelle Red.
Simply, her voice and her cuteness won me over, and that haircut.
She made me think of Natalie Portman in "The Professional", but fortunately it wasn't that dark. I don't know if you know what movie I'm talking about, it might be confusing.
Eh what can I say, (almost) 10 years later, I'm still here.

I discovered her in September, 2007, when a friend of mine showed me the JAEM video. My other friends were enjoying it, but I didn't. The reason was that I had never seen a stage show of a singer before. I knew only playback singers as we have in our movies. I didn't know who she is and why everybody was watching her, for her dance or what. My friend told me her name and said that she is a singer. They didn't know her language and neither did I. So I just ignored. Later I found that most of users of our DC hub had her videos and she was usually at the top (alphabetically). They usually had JAEM, JVPA, La Isla Bonita, Parler Tout Bas, Moi...Lolita and A Contre Courant. Curiosity about her arose in my mind, so started searching about her. I discovered that she is a French singer. Then I started searching for her videos (at that time at was new to downloading stuffs from internet). So it took me a month or so to get some of her videos. I used to listen to those whole day. In this whole process when I fell in love with her I don't know. I suddenly found myself doing 20 hrs internet search about her. When I heard that a her new album will come in November, I found difficult to wait. Then my vacations started and I had to go to a place where I couldn't watch any of videos or listen to her songs. During that month I felt like I was dying everyday. From then became my integral part and that's how I discovered her.

Music has to hook dem' females.
Of course that WAS one half of the package.
Not many women around here today, looks don't matter, so the only thing that can leave them on a string or a death grip is the music.

a poster when on vacation in france a few years back :D
It was quite surprising for me when I saw a giant poster of her in front of a shop in my town. The shopkeeper didn't knew about her, he just just used it.
I, like many others, discovered Alizée through YouTube.
I first discovered her in mid-2006 while watching a WoW related video, which was showing off all the different races dances and where they originated from. Lilly popped up on my screen, strutting her stuff around in the JEAM suit. "She's cute", i thought to myself, then closed the net window so i could go do something else. I didn't really think any other of it and quickly forgot about her again (i was young and stupid, please don't hate me!!! :D).
3 years later, I'm sitting one night, bored out of my mind. I decide to search for something random on YouTube, but that doesn't really help my boredom disappear. In the little "related videos" tab, i recognize one certain video. I click on it, thinking "isn't that----". My thought is interrupted by the sight of an incredible beautiful woman. The woman stares out into her audience, occasionally giving them cute little smiles. Behind her stands two guys dressed in red, each wielding an acoustic guitar. As soon as they start playing on their guitars, the woman begins thrusting her hips elegantly from side to side, then starts singing french in the cutest voice of all. All this continues for about 4 more minutes, whereafter the woman accepts the audiences applause.
I was hooked on her after that. Her looks, her voice, everything! That night, i replayed the video about 20 times, just so i could appreciate the girl. After that i needed to know more about who she was. I learnt from the video that the performers name was Alizée, and that she was a french singer. That's all i needed to know, and suddenly began my quest of finding more information about this girl. I searched for her on YouTube, and the first video that showed up was "Moi Lolita". I then fell in love with that video and watched it even more times than i had with "J'en ai Marre". I then read her Wikipedia profile, found this site shortly after and the rest is history.
Merci Alizée

Great Story, similar to most of the other fans. I always wonder how most people found her on youtube, unlike me. Also most of them start from JAEM video, which was first for me too. But when others were hooked by the video, I was quite surprised by video because I had no clue about what's going on. I still hardly watch that JAEM video. I don't know why, I like the song though. :)

I'm so fine the way it is, I learned to manage the Lillyness over the years, sure I miss the first time I saw her back in 2000, but there is no way to go back in time for us humans, I had to deal with it, and in the end it's all good. :)
When nostalgia goes back at me and hits me in the face, I force myself to listen to the latest songs to keep my mind in the current time, or La Isla Bonita, that version is timeless for me.

Listen to something completely different, something that you used to listen to before you discovered her.
Watch live performances from other artists, go see another artist on live, watch movies, comedy shows...
Listen to music you hate the most and have good laugh. :p
It's useless to force yourself to not listen to her, watch her videos, think about her etc... you just have to go with the flow, hang out with your friends also, go out, run into a wall... :D
Do some Yoga, Tai-Chi, WuShu (with a staff, to kill bugs)...
There are so many ways, it works differently for everyone, the thing is there is no need to force yourself to do what you don't want to do.
Then if you feel ready to start over again, go back to her and see if you can manage the radiations.
I know how hard it can be when you're definitely hooked on someone, whoever that person is, if for you the only way is to watch/listen to her until your brain completely shuts down then do it.
And enjoy your sleep. :)

But also Im addicted to her , and im going through the same addiction phase that i went throught when I found about Alizee. Lol I would join a Priscilla forum but they only speak French :(. lol.
P.S. I realy dont know if it is possible to totaly get over Alizee, dont matter how much Jungster and berrett say they do but they are still here and i belive srill listen to her :). Wow thats a mouthfull for my 2 cents into this discusion.
Nah, i'm here because Jung's here and he's here because i'm here. Do you see how this is a potential equilibrium? :p

So you don't even like Alizée anymore? Jung's the only reason you're still here and vice-versa?
If that's the case, why don't you just leave the forum and chit-chat somewhere else?
Not trying to start anything here, but it really doesn't make sense to me

Everybody is firing on Jung since yesterday. I read all those comments by Jung and others' response is not surprising. I think Jung should consider their responses and try not upset them. Mr. Jung, if you don't like her then please don't post about this here.
lol, I know what you guys are trying to say, but the thing is that that's how Jung and Barrett get along in this forum:p, they are meant for each other:blink: :p. The anxious of waiting for the album has also contributed to loose some control, I also think its getting a little out of hand (for Ben coming out and giving out a warning) and we just have to calm ourselves down and keep our focus on Alizee and the new album.

The first time I ever heard of Alizée was when I came across a picture of her from one of her concerts. Then I thought okay just who is this and decided to search around for more pictures and information, then moved to youtube and found songs that I could actually listen to and instantly interested ever since I've heard her voice. That was back in 2004 during freshman year high school, been listening to her ever since.
I do remember when I found out she was on her break to take time away for herself since she has been busy for so long, I couldn't wait till Psychédélices to be released, glad tho I was able to get a copy to help show there are fans in America.
that'd just be asinine
Really now, would it?
Explain to me how it would be utterly foolish to leave the fan-site of a person you don't respect or care for anymore, instead of staying and just bashing her at every chance you get?
I would actually say it's the other way around. It IS extremely stupid to stay on said web-site, bashing the person that the site presents to you, but hey, that's just me and my opinion. If you've got nothing better to do with your time than talk down to Alizée and her choices, be my guest.

Hey man, first off, welcome to the forum!
I read your post here, I have to say, your story rings true for many of us here! Me included. :p
She does have some mystic vibe about her... cute, sexy, and adorable all in one.

Ehh, I wouldn't get too worked up about Jung.
He was, at one point I'm sure, just a fan of Alizee as we are now!
Am I right jung?

Wow u guys are not holding back against Jung and Barrett lol its funny as hell to me. Seriously I cant imagine not being here if Jung, wassabii, Three, Ben, or Barrett were not here tehy make me want to stay on this forum lol. True stuff get out of hand sometime but lol dont get to worked up about it. i mean for the past year or so we realy didnt have anything new to talk about Alizee except the new album with was delayed several times, and we all pitched our 2cents in about what and how the album would be, now we are just waiting to see if it even gets released this year!!. All this time yes I do talk on the forums with Jung and Barrett and others non Alizee related because there is no more realy new news about her, only speculations and guesses. Seriously thought i dont think I would stay here if not for the other people I already mentioned, there are couple others just dont got time right now to write their names down lol. I stopped going on the forum couple months, out of the blue I went on the chat and started to talk to Jungster and Barrett and got hooked up again lol.

That's good because it is one of the aim of such sites to bring people together who share something common. In ours case its Alizée. So your presence won't be a problem for anybody until you do anything wrong about what we share.
That's enough discussion on this issue. Lets put an end to it.

That's good because it is one...
And two, and three, and four.
There's always more, there's always more.
A social site, or a party floor.
It's all possible things with a subject core.
Specifications are such a sore.

While like Yoda, I talk, listen you must
Now you're ready to fly, all sprinkled with dust
Think, you will, of a happy thought
Guide you, I will, to what you've sought
Off toward that special star, just follow my flitting wings
To a wonderful place where the voice of an angel sings
Where you'll find you casually enjoy wasting away the day
Happily in the friendly company of fellow fans of Alizée
I love those silly poetic posting things. ;)

Don't call Yoda silly! He (or at least his cousin) is a brilliant financial genius. You don't believe me? Then check out his solution for the terrible <i>chargement</i> crisis undermining the musical recording business, by watching the embedded video <a href="http://alizeeamerica.com/forums/showpost.php?p=152001&postcount=37">here</a>!

I rejected current popular music and went through a techno phase in rebellion, from which I was rescued when I found a remixed version of Moi... Lolita and fell in love with Alizée. Unfortunately, that was near the beginning of her hiatus so I had to wait a long time to experience the excitement of her producing new stuff, but the wait was worth it.

Mine, it seems, is a unique story.
One day in November 2009, I signed on to my account on Steam (an online gaming community) to play Empire: Total War (one of my favorite games - I recommend checking it out). I received a notification that I was invited to join a Steam group. So I went to the group's page to check it out. While scrolling through the members list, I saw one person had an avatar of a very hot girl. Guess who it was! The picture, as I now know, was the one on the cover of Fifty Sixty. Luckily the person had the name of the girl posted in a comment on his profile. Then came the life-altering moments: went to youtube, typed in "Alizee", first clicked on the L'alizé video. Somehow, I just didn't find the time to do my homework that day.:D
I now have Alizée as my avatar almost everywhere so people can experience the same thing if they happen to see it.

i was watching a mexican music channel (but in the U.S.) called telehit and then her song called Fixty Sixty came on and I decided I liked her. She was also in this mexican novela but at the time i thought her music was stupid (no ofense. don't kill me!)

I was just doing some surfing of the YouTube. I was watching different videos from funny stuff to music videos. As I would add videos that sparked my interest in the related videos section to my quicklist, I noticed a beautiful young woman on one of the videos. I clicked and watched. It was the JAM live performance. I found my dream girl.
I was immediately hooked. I searched for others videos and began watching her all the time. Then I searched her on iTunes and downloaded all her available songs (and I've requested for her newer albums). After further discovery and "research" of Alizée, I realized how far behind I was on all things Alizée. I watched as many music videos and performances I could find on YouTube, watched and listened to all her psychedelices songs, and watched as many interviews that I could find.
Now my life is pretty much dominated by Alizée :D (such as a lot of my more recent art work). Merci Alizée, you have inspired me in so many different ways.

I was preparing for 2 weeks in France a couple of years ago, so I thought it would be good to have some French music on my iPod to sorta get in the mood... after a bit of surfing itunes and youtube I came across the music vid for J'ai pas vingt ans and loved it so much I bought the whole of MCE and En Concert off itunes... since then the obsession's got a bit more extreme but JPVA is still my favourite song
Merci Alizée

That's the story of most of the international fans. Most of us here found her on youtube and were hooked uo by that JAEM performance. It's her most famous video on internet, I guess. Then after one watches it, she slowly takes you over and you find yourself in the current situation.

And that's a bit different story, at least, among those which I have heard. Discovering Alizée while searching for French music... cool.
