And what about the music? I must say .. I am impressed with a lot of his stuff now that I have taken the time to listen to some of it.

Moe has hosted some of his songs to sample if you are interested ..

If he wrote the music / lyrics to these songs (keep in mind I have no clue wtf he is saying ..) I think Alizee's new album is gonna be awesome. I would encourage you all to give it a listen and see what you think.

I like Variete Francaise and Romanichel especially ... I am feeling pretty good about him being involved with the new album.

I don't speak enough French to really understand what he's saying (more than bits here and there) but I really enjoy the songs. If he does write his own stuff (or co-writes, more likely as very, very, very few people completely write their own songs) or has the people he works with involved with Alizee's sessions I have a good feeling about this.

Although I admit I'd probaby have a good feeling about new Alizee stuff even if she were singing about watching paint dry.

This couldn't be more true ... lol

and i don't speak any french .. so i dont know what he is saying either, but i like the melody and 'sound' of the songs. Some of them anyway...

Thanks for the link! I've been half tryin to listen to him but was too lazy to do any work.

I guess his voice just isn't for me--too harsh/scratchy or somethin. I dunno. I guess he can sing, I just don't care for his voice.

Anywho, go Jeremy for bein the man we all wish we were, lol!

Ahhhh, jinx, I wrote a similar post on cane17's "Is Jennifer stealing Alizee's man." I guess great minds do think alike. :D

No, he doesn't compose/write all his songs alone.

On second album, he wrote and composed:
Romanichel
C'est Si Bien
J'ai l'Intention
Il Sera Elle
J'me Disais
Laisse Toi Partir

The other songs are co-written with Jean Fauque and Lionel Florence.

Don't remember how it's on first album, since I don't have it. (tho, I have wanted to buy it but it's bit too expensive everywhere where I have looked...)

Credits for both of Jérémy's albums:

(So he wrote like 99% of the first album, and like 75% of the second)

His voice kind of reminds me of Davy Jones from the Monkees.

i have absolutely no problem with his songs. i just wish he had a better voice to go along with it. oh well, he ended up with alizee so he is still the man

Check out the songs he's written for other artists if you haven't yet: Bretagne Dédicace for Pierrick Lilliu, and Ruban Noir and Un Dimanche D'Automne for Jonatan Cerrada. That way you get his good song-writing without his not-so-good voice. :)

Jeremy has a great voice for rock music, where "unique" is always more important than "good." I don't mean to say his voice isn't good - it's certainly a lot better than mine - but it's definitely unique. The problem, though, is that he doesn't front a rock band. Pair this guy with an energetic guitarist and rhythm section and you'll have an awesome band.

The other problem that I hear when listening to that stream from Moe's site is that there isn't a lot of passion in Jeremy's singing. That might be from being a soloist...and from having a hot, loving wife. Give him a band with creative energy, toss in a little heartache, and I think he could be a lot better.

toss in a little heartache
Well, his mother did die from cancer a few years ago. Laisse-toi partir is about that.

But anyway that site only has songs from his second album, and I generally prefer the first and think it has more energy.

First impression I get from reading the lyrics to Je veux qu'on m'enterre is that he is a funny guy! He talks about such a serious subject in such a humorous way.

btw does anybody know where the lyrics are to "Variété Française"? I'd like a peek.

the only time ive heard any of his singing is in the clip with jennifer bartoil that someone posted up a few days ago. i cant listen to any other type of music or artist ever since ive found out alizee.
well the only reason i would listen to other type of music is when im in the car with people..ill listen to rap/hiphop because i dont want them to find out im listening to french music. then of course when im the only one in the car its alizee time again.

Haha, I also find pop or anything other than rock or rap is found among my friends playlists. I've found myself trying to conceal my music too.

Sweet! I actually found a song that I liked: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmIEC6B-9_4

That's kind of a relief cause now I don't have that little voice inside of me yelling to Alizée that she married a total dork!

Although, in this vid, Jeremy doesn't stress his voice alot. So that scratchy, annoyingness that I get from him doesn't come out.

You seem to like "Variété Française", so I will post a translation and original lyrics of that song in the Translations section. Lyrics courtesy of aFrenchie.
