I don't know if this is something somebody else may have thought of and posted. It seems like something that someone should have thought of long ago. I've been so busy lately that I didn't have time to check for myself.

It's from Alizée's performance at the Eiffel Tower where she sings J'ai pas vingt ans. The original video is a little over 7 minutes long. She sings during the first 4 minutes, then during the last 3, she is standing on stage with the emcee, sometimes talking to her. During these last 3 minutes, there are some incredibly beautiful clips of Alizée.

I often watch the singing part, but seldom watch the last 3 minutes because I grow weary of hearing the other woman jabbering, so I figured I'd take those clips from the last 3 minutes and splice them into the first 4. It's not a dramatic difference, but I like it and figured I go ahead in post it in case anyone else did.

Hey SDB.
I think maybe you misunderstodd what I was saying.
That is the pretty much the same video I used for this, but what I did was take clips from the last 3 minutes of the video and merge them into the first 4.

this made me think; has there ever been an accident at an Alizée performance? Somebody tripping on stage, a light falling over.......

if Alizee herself has ever had a small trip or fall, without hurting herself or anything of course! i would find that to be unbelieveable cute. i dunno why, but it would be adorable to me.

Was that New Years, I see a little clock thing...Oh and this is lip singing beyond...anything.

Oh and the thing on her very pretty butt is playing the music for her so she knows what to sing.

Well according to the AA video library, this took place on June 21st, so negatory on the New Years clock theory. I do wonder what the counting logo thingy is though (countdown to Summer Solstice?), and what sort of concert was this? Multiple acts or just our girl?

-B

**EDIT** It helps if you watch the whole video and read the subtitles (slaps self on back of head). It was some kind of celebration for the re-lighting of the Eiffel Tower. The clock was counting down to the re-lighting

I'm terribly disappointed you guys don't know the history of this video. The occassion was to celebrate the completion of a series of strobe lights all up and down the tower. They had put some up temporarily a couple of years before and it was such a big success that they decided to put a permanent set up. The countdown was for when they were going to turn on these lights for the first time. There were reportedly over 350.000 people in attendance.

In december of 2007, I went to Paris to get Alizée's autograph when she released her Psych album. I knew something had been done with the lights on the tower due to this video, but I had no idea what. The night that I got Alizeée's autograph, afterwardsI decided to walk over towards the tower, which I hadn't seen to this point, to do some sight seeing.
I was walking down a hill when I saw the end of a street that had a series of red Christmas lights on all the trees that lined it. I walked down to get a closer look. When I turned the corner, I saw up between these trees with the beautiful red Christmas lights, was the Eiffel tower with all these strobe lights flashing off and on. What an awesome sight. Unbelievable! It turns out that they turn on these lights at night at the top of each hour for 10 minutes and to have turned that corner when these lights were on was just a stroke of incredible luck. I'll never forget it.

Here's a video that someone else had posted on Youtube of these lights. There's no comparison to seeing it directly for yourself.

Hey Scruffy, thanks for sharing this experience with us. I did know that this occasion was to celebrate something about the lights of the Eiffel Tower, but I didn't know about all those details you said.
I think this is one of the greatest JPVA performance ever. Alizée, the Eiffel tower as the background, JPVA, everything was just awesome. And I don't know if all the evenings at Paris are always like this, but that evening was beautiful!

Yeah Actually seeing the lights at night is amazing. I was on a boat right below the tower when it started and its just awesome, except for the vendors mobbing you to buy tower replicas.

Sorry LL.
Didn't mean to belittle you or anyone else. I just thought most people knew the story from one of the more interesting pages of Alizée's life. Kind of like her performance on July 3rd of 2003 of J'ai pas vingt ans. It was performed in front of the Paris city hall. ( The French call city hall "Hotel de ville") The occassion was to celebrate the 100th running of the Tour de France. There were several members of some union in the entertainment industry in attendace, who were on strike and booed her performance afterwards.

Great job Scruffy! Thanks for sharing. Those are some of the most beautiful shots of Alizee ever and that is saying something. Alizee is beyond beautiful. Takes your breath away! She just gets more captivating over time. I thought it would have worn off by now. Such an angel!

There's a reason I chose the pic I did for my avatar and have never changed it (and never do) ;) I actually like the talking bits after the performance (actually where my avatar pic comes from) because you get to hear Alizée's speaking voice, which I adore about as much as her singing voice... And as she looks out over the massive crowd assembled on the Champs de Mars, cheering her on, she's always looked like an adored princess or queen looking out over her realm. The Tour d'Eiffel JPVA performance is one of my favorites of all time. And JPVA always has a special place in my heart since it was the Ternuc JPVA compilation with which I discovered et tombais amoureux avec Alizée

That's a great point. Maybe I'll go back some day and just cut out only scenes in the last few minutes where Alizée isn't in it. But the main reason I made this video is to include it into DVD's I make to show other people. Some of who may have never seen her. So with the original video being over 7 minutes, I don't want to start losing someones attention which I think could happen when the emcee is jabbering away. So I try to get as much quality in as short a video I can make.

Just as a little side note to the original video. There is a little bit of an unfortunate scene at the very start of the video. The things you see when you don't have a sniper rifle. Thank goodness for video editing.

Are you talking about one or two unfortunate t-shirts that are visible and a couple of unfortunate hand gestures made to the camera?

As far as gestures, there's a moron all most dead center in the picture at the very start of the video making a 1 finger salute to the camera. It's not in my video. I edited it out. It's in the original video, possibly the one in this website. I'll check it out.

Just checked. It's there all right. A little lower than dead center. We'll have to ask been to edit that out.
