If you've ever got somebody interested in Alizée, post your stories here!

on the other forum I'm on:

Alizée: stealing the souls of all those who encounter her since '84

(this oddly ticked me off, I don't have the patience right now to explain why)

well, I got myself interested ... initially entranced with her 60's style go-go dancing... so charming compared to the fist pumping/hip thrusting air humping that pop divas do today.... plus she doesn't dress like a tranny like most other pop divas..

I'm so tired of this empty titillation with no substance... I never connected to pop music or reality TV because it was all junk food...

Alizee had a charm, and also a smile instead of an "eff me" scowl.

Then came her humility, generosity, and resilience to over exposure.

As far as introducing alizee to friends... its like trying to get children who are used to sweet to eat their vegetables. Everyone is so conditioned to like hip hop.. that is almost all that is played now.... more-so people are become resilient to variety and follow like lemmings to whats trendy; mainly because they don;t want to be ostracized in a society that has little in the form of community... so liking what other people like becomes the social contact that is desired...

Just recently I was with a friend at a club where they played up-beat electronica stuff for dance. My friend said: she doesn't dance to this "shit"... meanwhile her french canadian friends were cutting loose because they were having a great time... my friend sat there almost pissed that we enjoyed ourselves instead of sitting there with agreeing how the music sucked and was lame. I decided to accompany the same friend to a club that she liked... they played the atrocious amp 97.1 stuff (here in LA)... all hip hop gangsta shit and she luved it... however she complained that every guy on the dance floor tried to grab her ass.

So in other words.. music that sounded "tough" was what she liked because she's a "tough" gal... even if it means that her ass gets grabbed and she is degenerated by guys on the dance floor while listening to music that sings about degenerating women (literally songs about how you want to eff them in the ass and dump them) and bragging about the material shit you have while saluting a particular gang... Thats ok, but up beat music.. thats for fags...

its literally mass delusion as people try to out-desensitize each other...

sorry for the rant again... its late... er, not its early!!!

Its kewl dude. I know how you feel to some extent, and I agree that being seen as being "nice" is *NOT* in vogue right now in the west, and the US in particular. I don't have an answer, but you might point out to your friend that in the upbeat place, people weren't grabbin' her ass, and possibly that meant she was being "respected" a little more...

Or not, I've almost given up on "pop-society", as its all "Sound and Fury, signifying nothing..." ;)

Ed:cool:

Edit! : Back on topic: I've played Alizee for something close to 50 or 60 different people over the last three years... no takers yet. :(

well, i have to picture to show for it, but i have put my friends through what i call "Alizeeification"

which consists me of bombarding them with youtube videos of her, whether it be me showing it to them personally, or writing on their facebook wall about it.

though, none have yet to join us. :(

i try though, i try..

I showed Alizée to few persons, one from them loved the ACC lyrics and added Alizée to his music library between other French artists. And my school radio plays 50/60 and Moi... Lolita sometimes (after my strong persuations:)), maybe someone will notice her.

I doubt alizee will be noticed in the us, unless she decides to wear her underwear on the outside while kissing other underwearing stars...

well, i dunno if it worked, but today, i went onto mystery google and repeatedly typed in Alizee for about half an hour before i actually ended up getting Alizee.

figured since what it does is show you what the previous person had searched, some people would end up with Alizee!

:D

Yup, it is, but I don't know if it works because it feels like 1 out of every 4, I get something like "text ###-###-#### and tell him blah blah blah"

I recently joined the MacRumors.com forum (http://forums.macrumors.com/) and I had two opportunities to promote her grace. (Unfortunately, someone already had my usual user name of "BrianB," which I try to use everywhere. However, it should be obvious who I am. :D) The first time was in a thread about recent purchases (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=8763753) and the second was a thread about celebrity crushes (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=8778392).
