i am diecting this thread toward anyone who was an Alizee fan during the 3-4 years where Alizee was nowhere to be found. what was it like... what were you thinking... because 3 or 4 years is a very long time when you think about it. i was just wanting to see what some of you hardcore fans thought.

Being I found Alizée by accident in the winter of 2004-2005, it was a difficult time waiting for her to re-emerge in the late fall of 2007.

To me it was well worth the time waiting. It would have been much worse if I was one of her early fans from 2000-2003.

It is just as bad now waiting through 2009-and into early 2010 for her next album.

Knowing Alizée as we do it will be well worth it.

It was a lot of watching of same videos over and over again. Going to the same forums to read rumor after rumor of things that never happened. That's about it in a nut shell.

It's necessary practice to make you a stronger soul.
Otherwise you'd be, unwittingly, following into blind affection, often crossing the line, between fan and artist.

I tend to view those past years as the better years.

In about three weeks, I will have been a die-hard Alizée fan for exactly one year. Luckily, I haven't had to sit through any seriously long break (for my health and safety, that's probably a good thing) but when the day comes... *shudder*

Well, I became a fan of her about 9 months ago.

For the first 7-8 months, I was freaking CRAZY about her! Like... the usual surfing on youtube for her videos of hours, looking up pictures of her, reading up anything I could find about her, posting like crazy on this forum, and so on.

She was on my mind almost all the time. Her's was the only music I listened to for those 8 months straight. Nothing else!

Whereas now, it's definitely reached a reasonable level. I still love and adore her! But now I can live a somewhat normal life. :p

I can now even listen to music that's not hers! For me, that's a huge change. (Though of course, she still dominates my most played list :D)

As a wise friend of mine once said... Don't worry, you'll get through it!

Actually no, they don't know who they are.
I'm guessing it's yourself, because, you talk to yourself. Don't deny it.

You know, I asked myself that same question...

I mean, it is pretty awesome, being all crazy about her and it gives you something to obsess about in your free time. (I still do. :D)

But it's much easier to deal with when it calms down just a tad.

I found that being all that crazy about her kind of depressed me a bit... in the sense of "Holy crap that's a unique beauty that I'll probably never meet."

I became a fan a year ago in January. When things calm down a bit, it is for the best. I know at first I was crazy trying to watch all the videos I could, listening to the songs all day, going on every thread here. You know, when your friends go, "wtf?" and all that lol. I calmed down a bit before I joined this site, though like wasabi, I still adore the crap out of Lilly :D So instead of watching and listening all day, I joined the site, bought the albums, but also started listening to my old music more. I started collecting Lilly related stuff on my computer, and have also discovered a few new artists thanks to others. I learned more about her through the site, and I try to come on here every day to read the news and go on the chatbox. Being an Alizée fan for me is not just about liking her music, its a way to learn these new things. Some members encourage that we "open our eyes already" and see that she isn't all that, and yeah, she isn't. But for me, becoming a fan was me opening my eyes, to "see" more, and I'd definitely do it over again. :)

Hahahaa, yup. Most of us fans go through that. Some longer then others, while others just do a complete 180 once it's over.

All I'm going to say is enjoy it while it lasts!

I sure did.

:D

And I still do!

I am sadly a few months away from entering that stage:( But I will always remember her as the woman that changed my life both emotionally, spiritually, and "awesome-songs"ally, o and of course "wow she is so fine"ally. And many members have showed me many things, like how Finntroll can give you nightmares, how Vodka can taste good with Cherry Coke(i dont drink btw haha), how you shouldn't look at porn, and how yes, Lilly is not the only really amazingly perfect girl out there....there are girls like....uhhh nevermind....EN CONCERT TIME WITH MY CHOCOMILK!!!!

Interestingly, I find that it sort of comes and goes.

Like March of last year, that was when I was a fanatic, and recently, I felt that it had cooled off a bit.

BUT!

The other day at the library, I was listening to VVV followed by J'en Ai Marre, and out of nowhere, like.. nostaliga(?) hit me, and I was like, holy frick, I freaking love the hell out of Alizée!!!

So yeah, I guess it can come and go. :D

I've been listening to Alizée since Gourmandise (sp?) and just keep listening to the music, watching the vids and keeping attached to this forum and others to get any news forthcoming.
It has worked for me. ;)

Wow you discovered her right when she went on hiatus. Did you ever think her career was over for good? I don't really know the details of her hiatus but did she ever say she was going to come back when she decided to take her time off? Or was it uncertain wether she would come back?
