Deux questions à...un inconnu, une inconnue. Ou pas ! No names.

Alizée is totally adorable in this video

I don't understand much but on the first question ("what is the best advice that someone ever give you?") she answering sth about not to forget the people who helped you and were around until the beginning and stayed by your side in every part of your life... and on the second (If sth goes wrong on which positiv things you think to feel good?) she answers that it's Corsica and her daugther...

Yay!!!!

Just an observation though, this new album promotion seems to be very low budget.

Thanks she looks great, yet when I see her eyes she seems kinda tired, probably for all the work and issues with the album and life. Thanks for posting!

@Wasabi: I kinda agree, but the album itself hasn't come out 'OFFICALLY" yet so what is there to really promote. Give it some time, probably next week we'll see some real promoting in radio, TV, and internet. Remember she has alot going on right now (family, new album, leaking of album, illness, Music Video editing,etc..) this takes time and organization. A little more patience Dude :)

Good point. :p

How long do you think she'll be promoting? As in, come spring of next year, you figure she'll still be out there doing some hardcore promoting?

I say this because I'm actually going to Europe for the first time next year!! So if Alizée's performing, that's where I plan to be. :p

Nevermind, didn't see the vimeo link.

I've noticed she's been hiding the foreheadzée lately... though I quite dig the pony tail.

I think right after Monday of next week we can call this Autograph session to be her first Official Promotion. As far as TV, and Radio interviews that will last quite some time I believe. Remeber promotions deal with each TV station(which includes different programs and shows within that TV station), plus she still has to do her album promotion in Mexico. There she will be very busy being in radio stations, TV shows, TV shows in DIFFERENT states/cities. So we just have to wait and enjoy her appearances. I think and HOPE her concert dates will be next Summer (2011) in Europe and probably Next Spring in Mexico if not a little bit earlier. Best of luck in having the same album show dates for next year in Europe :).

This is really cool !

TDM, could you translate for us your question and the answer? I'm having trouble making out what the interviewer is saying (though I think I got the first part) and I would like to make sure I'm understanding the answer.

It would be greatly appreciated ! :)

Here is the question exactly as I posted it on the site of Le Figaro :):

Marcus

Hello Alizée!

I'm eighteen years old, an American, and I live in Pittsburgh. Seeing as this album is inspired by Edie Sedgwick, The Factory, etc., I wanted to know if you had ever happened to visit the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh during your travels to the US?

Best wishes,
Marcus

Not thinking that there was a chance my question might actually be picked out of hundreds, I wrote it very quickly without bother to realize that she might be left sitting there thinking, "Hein, Pittsburgh? C'quoi ça?" The answer to which, of course, is that Warhol was born here, buried here, and the majority of his works reside in this museum.

Poor Alizée didn't quite know what to do with my question, lol... :o

Interviewer: One final question, I have one that made me laugh because I saw this: I’m an American, I’m eighteen years old, I live in Pittsburgh, and I wanted to know if you ever happened to visit the Andy Warhol Museum during your travels to the US. And that inspired your album.

Alizée: Uh--

Interviewer: He’d be happy if you answered him.

Alizée: Uh, I’ll answer. I never went to the museum. At the same time, when I travel, it's hardly ever for vacation, and I’ve gone so many places, traveled across so many countries, and I... the frustration of not being able to simply walk about and enjoy the country or the city that I’m visiting. Otherwise, I’m truly fascinated by New York, I really love this city. If only the Factory, it’s amazing to me that they were able to create a studio where the tens of artists that come from it are still being talked about years later. And everything from there is great. I’d love for there to be things like that still happening today.

There are a few parts that I'm unsure of, especially the underlined bit. Could anyone help to (correctly hear and) interpret this line?

I still haven't heard anything from the website itself about receiving the signed album, which is why I submitted my name for the signing which Scruffy will be attending. :o

Thanks TDM ! About all I could understand of the question was "I’m an American, I’m eighteen years old, I live in Pittsburgh, and I wanted to know", and that was it.

I could only pick out a word here and there in Alizée's answer. I wish I could get better at following spoken French. It's really frustrating for me. I seem to have reached a plateau I can't rise above. Anyways, you never know, you might just have planted a seed in Alizée's brain. I have a feeling she was not aware of the museum. She may consider trying to check the museum out next time she's here and has the time. The list of cool places in the US that Alizée hasn't been is probably quite long ! :) Maybe some day she'll make a point of taking a long vacation or two here.

Ahhh thank you Bigdan! :)

I was massively confused because I definitely hear "je" before "c'est rarement pour les vacances." That makes much more sense, though!

I wish I could get better at following spoken French. It's really frustrating for me.

I feel like I have a pretty good understanding of the spoken French that I have had access to: that is, news on TV, radio talk shows, and various other Youtube videos. However, I did have more trouble understanding this more "relaxed" interview where both speak much faster. I have a feeling that understanding young people would be immensely difficult and would require some time before I would get used to it.

I have a feeling she was not aware of the museum. She may consider trying to check the museum out next time she's here and has the time. The list of cool places in the US that Alizée hasn't been is probably quite long ! Maybe some day she'll make a point of taking a long vacation or two here.

Haha, I have the same feeling... ;) Though, who knows? On ne sait jamais.

Heh. The list of cool places in the U.S. that I haven't been is quite long, so I imagine so.

Maybe we can visit them together some day.

Edit:

See, this thought is what worries me a bit. At this point, because she's fairly obscure in the U.S., she can do exactly that: walk around and enjoy the country or town where she's visiting. If she becomes a big star in America, that will become more difficult, if not impossible. I've gotten this sense before, that she will miss being anonymous here, especially in NYC which she seems to love so much.

I have a feeling as well that she's going to do pretty well here with UEDS, that this is the crossover. It makes me happy for her, but sad at the same time, because of this. :(
