I will be taking a road trip in May covering approximately 6k miles and thought this could be a good way to expose the site and/or Alizee. As my car (see it in album) stands out like a beacon on the road I thought some tasteful magnetic or vinyl signs/windshield banner with site addresses such as alizeeradio.com, alizeeamerica.com, etc might help to spread the word. I would only do this with permissions from this site owner(s) and input would be great. I will be covering the whole east coast from Key West up to Maine. I thought I might put together some cd's with one or two songs on them to give out to anyone asking about Alizee. And write site addresses on the cd's also.
I am looking for input on this from members here.
Yes or no?
Copyright issues?

Yes or no? YES
Copyright issues? I don't think so. From what I recall from early conversations, you should just put samples of songs on there, rather then entire songs.

Great idea man. I try to do this often, but rather than 6k miles, just around my neighborhood. :p

First of all, I'm sure that there is no copyright issue for what we're doing here. We're trying to promote her, to get people to go to youtube, to buy her music, etc.
I've posted many videos to Youtube. The only problem they have is when you use pictures or video of one singer with the song of another singer such as using video of Alizée with the song "She's like the wind", in which case, they'll block the audio. I've been warned by Youtube that a couple of my videos include material that may be owned by someone else, such as my video "Alizée a video history of her early years". But because everything, the audio, the video, the pictures are all of Alizée and it's done in a taseful manner, they permit it.

As far as making up cd's, I made up some dvd's some time ago that I pass out every chance I get for just that purpose. It has samples of several of her songs on it, then my e-mail address at the end, in case they're interested in more. Maybe I can make some more out for that same purpose and ship them to you

. I also made up some flyers and bumper sticker size pictures, the latter of which I put into a holder in the back window of my S-10 pick up. I'll send you copies. I'll try and post the dvd video or at least a portion of it on Youtube.

Edit:

Here's a video that is very much similar to the one I mentioned except that I've used this one to send to different companies like radio or tv stations or newspapers or magazines. The main difference between this and the one I use for just your average Joe on the street is I cut off the last segment of Stars a domicile plus I add my e-mail at the end.

I will have to update this video to include Par les Paupieres and Les Collines, but until I do, I think it will do the trick.

In this video, I first focused on her English songs, mainly due to the limited cranial capacity of your average American, who usually only knows one language.

Hey wait a minute! I'm an average American.

Edit:

Here's a flyer I'll post in stores from time to time.
The picture may be a little dated, but it's definitely an attention grabber and that's what we have to do, get their attention, then they can find out the rest of the story. I put little tear strips at the bottom, so they wont forget the name.

This is a bumper sticker I made up. The picture once again is dated, but again, it's definitely an attention grabber. It would be nice to use a picture of her in her JAM outfit, but it's just too small on a bumper sticker.
It should probably only have 3 lines of large print for easiest readability on the highway. That's why I put a clear plastic holder in the back window of my pickup. So I can put something in large print for on the road, then maybe switch it to another sticker that has more info for when I go into a mall or to a ball game or stop at a restaurant, etc.
The three lines for highway use should have,
First her name
Then Youtube where they can easily find her
Then one of her songs, the title of which would be easy to remember, and that title has to be a good one, so once they see it, they'll want to see more.

First, Scruffy, you are not an average American citizen. Average don't go half way around the world to get not only one but 50+ autographs!
Second, that video is awesome. Only problem is when I see Lily cry it brings tears to my eyes.
Great ideas, and I have three and a half weeks to prepare.
I agree that samples are the way to go.
Thanks

I loved Scruffy's video sampler, even if some titles are a tad off and the collection is a bit dated. My ideal sampler would also include some of the split-screen "ballet" from MJ, the Andy Warhol "drag" from 50/60, and the Adélaïde duet. A snip of the clear English voice-over from the 2002 Passengers interview would prove helpful near the start of the sampler. In particular, I like seconds 11-15 ("Corsican-born Alizée has become a fixture in the French pop charts") as posted at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNVzRRHqkAI because it pronounces her name clearly and notes she is a hit. (It should be accompanied by a graphic which notes "5 million disks sold worldwide" or whatever.) The audio of JUST her name, together with its appearance in a big, clear typeface, might be usefully repeated during ALL the transitions between the sample clips.

The large Cuban-American population in south Florida would of course be interested that she is a big hit in a Spanish-speaking country - an excerpt from the "Las Tontas..." episode would illustrate that economically. Also use a short clip of her speaking at one of the Mexican concerts, followed by audience applause.

Scruffy's French TV testimonies of how special someone is, is a new must-have.

Surely there are some parts of the AAm podcasts which could be usefully excerpted. Some of the "motivational" posters might be good visuals to use with same. I hope to find some time to make one featuring the Statue of Liberty with her face replacing that of the statue's - maybe someone can beat me to it? A possible caption: "Americans have always had a weakness for French women." Another poster could stick her kisser over that of the Little Corporal's; captioned "Napoleon was not the last Corsican who would conquer much of the world."

The free Christmas 2009 music video might end the video samples, because it is ALL English, even if the Corsican girl only has a small part within it.

Something else one might put on a DVD is a Windows screensaver. The malware-scanned software archive at download.com includes free tools which let you make screensavers from collections of snapshots. Besides publicity photos, one should include the covers of all her disks.

Nobody has a leg to stand upon when it comes to citing the name of their Web address. As long as one does not represent oneself as the owner of same, it is no different from citing the title of a book!

Have faith, my son.

You don't need a computer to do so. For a while, before I had any Alizée products, my technique was to bring her up in any way possible to any topic.

For example, my friends and I were talking about traveling abroad(I wanted to go to either France/Spain, while they wanted to go to Asia), so I brought up how Alizée was in the Japanese commercial.

When there's a will, there's a way! :D

Well, I can't do that for my family. I try all the time. But they just say 'You're obsessed, and it's scary!'. But I have an idea that I am surprised doc did not mentíon. There is one video you absolutely have to include in a dvd: La Isla Bonita. 3 reasons: it is a song that many Americans recognize; it's in English; and was one of her most beautiful performances. These three reasons practically mandate its inclusion in a dvd for passing out. Hello! Who wouldn't want to learn more after those deep dark eyes stare into you like that? Or after hearing that lovely accent turn an ok song into an AMAZING SONG!? I don't think only advertising her English songs is a good idea, because she is French and sings best in French. But this would be a way to make sure it was watched by at least a few people. As far as I have seen, LIB has more view ratings than most JEAM performances on youtube. Maybe Madonna fans could help us out? That may be where a few views are coming from: Madonna fans who searched LIB and saw a thumbnail of an absolutely gorgeous woman doing the song. Heck, how many mj fans have been curious enough to check remakes of his songs? Fall?

Scruffy, I like your flyers. I like the bumper sticker, too. But you may not be showing enough Alizée. When I first discovered her, I was initially most attracted to the Psych era, specifically the short bobbed hair. That would appeal to many American men. Also, I know you want to use easy to remember songs by listing the English ones, but as I said before, I think the best video we could show people is La Isla Bonita. It is English, easily recognizeable, and one of her best performances. But you should also let them sample some of her new stuff. Limelight is an easy to remember word, moreso than I'm Fed Up or I'm Not Twenty. We want them to hear more than just the old music, because her current work (according to the interview I just read, thanks ptjmwa!) is what she likes best, and really reflects her as a person. It is most relevant to her, and therefore most relevant to me. Just suggesting, not demanding.

Edit:

Also, would that video be on your youtube? I would love to view it!

Alizée + MJ (musically) = Dream come true. I still hope that she does something with his work someday. And lol, don't worry I assure you there would not have been anything going on, especially because of the language barrier. Plus MJ was quite the gentleman, and Alizée is quite a lady, it wouldn't happen because of each having their own relationships and families. I don't know where you got that idea

With terse comments and no body language, it can be hard to discern if a question is sober and non-rhetorical.

It is very rare for me to omit a posting topic line. Please note that the one for the graphic I just posted read: "Bumper sticker - I brake for Corsican fairies - AlizeeRadio.com" It is also easy to use http://translate.google.com/ if you don't know French.

It is simple to reconfigure and resize this design for various uses. How large a printed graphic emerges in physical form, on a license plate frame or in another place, is beyond my control. If I am supplied with a graphic which outlines the shape of the targeted area and would fit exactly over the final physical target when physically fabricated, it is easy for me (or anyone else) to "paint" it with my resized design elements.

If you guys think you can sell, or want to subsidize, real bumper-stickers, you might ask Ben if he would carry them as an SKU in the new <a href="http://www.cafepress.com/alizeeusa">Alizée America online store</a>. I don't know if anyone would raise objection to the commercial use of the design, which includes a face that looks a lot like you-know-who, the person I aspire to help commercially with my art. ;)

I have a few ideas for your trip. When you pass through a new city, check out the local music shop. Ask for French. Likely they will not have it. So you ask them to look it up. When they do, reccomend they try listening to her. Also, stop by best buy. They usually have demo ipod touches. If they do, go to youtube and search Alizée. Leave her on the screen when you leave. That is how I do it. I don't seem to have created any fans, but will show there is interest in French music in America.

Well, a cheap kinda in home method that I thought of is this:

Who here is familiar with.. chat roulette?
So instead of sporting your member in the video feed, I figured a picture of Alizée or one of her albums would be good idea.Early last month I did some research on Chatroulette, collecting review articles. I came DAMN close to writing about it here at AAm, but decided against it. I would have borrowed some statistics about it to start off my own copy, in this manner:<blockquote>"What is 71% men, 15% women and 14% perverts?
No, not Alizée America - but a new Internet pastime called Chatroulette!" ;)</blockquote>Not a few participants are said by one reviewer to look very bored, so maybe a new singer would catch their interest.

I guess that most people using Chatroulette are wealthy enough to buy Alizée products, but many of them would also be sophisticated enough to swipe them, too. Even if you get their attention, how do you convert them into paying customers?

Everyone seems to agree that if you want someone to watch you for a while, it is important to be young, female and good-looking. That leaves out almost everyone at AAmt - except for a few folks including a professional model, who probably wouldn't like to take a "busman's holiday." But maybe you could pay her to produce a video segment with her mouth covered by a mask, so someone could interactively dub her speech without lip-sync problems. A mask would not be out of place if the party was a Halloween reveler, a bandit, a harem girl or a surgeon - her choice. You could play AlizeeRadio.com in the background, while the URL crawled at screen bottom as an overlay. The thing is this, Wasabi - could you sound like a fetching female without putting your AAm "member" in a clamped vise? ;)

Another strategy would simply feed a looped Alizée YouTube playlist with a URL overlay. Then you could walk away from any Webcam and spend your distributing flyers outside the local supermarket.

The supposed bottom-up success of Alizée in Mexico argues that passionate fans CAN make a difference, but I've never read that Alizée's own staff either engendered or accelerated it before it reached the level that it made sense to publish a local album and schedule concerts. It is quite possibly magic they would love to perform, but are clueless about creating.

I did not participate in the drafting or signing of the AAm Open Letter, and in fact only joined AAm at the end of last year. So I hope my critique of the Letter will not bring any undue resentment.

I think it was a fine thing to write Alizée a fan letter expressing AAm's admiration for her and encouraging her to perform in the American market (if possible). There was no harm in saying you were willing to execute the requests of her staff to assist her, but even stipulating your sincerity, it is hardly unlikely that their limited time could be better spent than by directing well-meaning non-professionals.

So why suggest she should go on a popular national talk show in the United States? If you can, get her a booking request. And if you can't, then try to figure out ways in which she might get small opportunities here in America which can foster professional contacts that move her along to better things - assuming she is interested.

That's why I applaud something like Scruffy's efforts to lobby the French TV show in San Francisco. He didn't tell Alizée she should go on the show; instead he worked to get the show to INVITE her to take part.

Alizée has been careful to drop hints about her interests, but modest and cautious enough not to express too many explicit ambitions, which unrequited, might embarrass her reputation.

That said, I think the multimedia enterprise once known as The Factory excites her multifaceted artistry as a Beau Ideal, and not just a plausible subject for a musical album. I think she really would like to be on stage, in film, sing, design and market special goods. The plebeian New York City I knew as a lad makes me somewhat immune to the romantic image of the city, but I must allow it could could be very exciting for a little girl from a rural island, even after international celebrity and a comfortable life at a chic Paris headquarters with talented collaborators.

While I am sure that Alizée would just as much enjoy headlining a concert in Chicago or Los Angeles as in Paris, Moscow or Mexico City, I am far from certain that can happen soon. On the other hand, perhaps we can help foster more intimate US "auditions" which get her the attention of people who CAN help her - like Broadway producers and Madison Avenue advertisers. That's why I like Scruffy's "start small" approach - but want us to concentrate on New York City, especially so because <i>UEdS</i> is set there and may open doors on account of the vanity of all "home town" audiences - even in the biggest of towns.

I will now propose a plan of action. But even if it completely fails in serving the stated ambition, it could still prove helpful to Alizée by helping her make more disk and download sales in the United States.

You are of course aware of social networking sites - such as Alizée's new Facebook entity - which provide a virtual connection between people, even if they remain continents aparts. But are you also aware about the use of such Web sites for coordinating LOCAL, in-person meetings?

I have a membership in such a site complex, called meetup.com Perhaps you do, too. Are you aware that among its various species of sites are language groups? The collection of French language groups are listed on http://french.meetup.com/all/ They come in all sizes, with over 200 of them boasting at least 100 members. Most of the largest ones are based in the United States, but Britain and Canada are represented as well. The very largest group just happens to be in New York City, <i>viz.</i> "original manhattan french language meetup," with over 3600 (locally-based!) members. If the biggest problem with getting enough Americans together to meet with Alizée in person is the language barrier, then leverage of a group like this offers relief!

I would suggest that wherever you live, you explore if there is a French language meetup group near you to join. If you want to start bending the ear of neighbors about how cool Alizée is, they are fine places to start - as well as find candidates for any <a href="http://alizeeamerica.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5369">Alizée parties</a> you might hope to throw. And if you cannot get a quorum up for Alizée, then try to assemble one for French singers in general, within which you can promote your personal favorite. In general, there is no charge to join a group and typically no charge to attend most meetings. You can start to explore a group by checking out its Web site, which generally includes an archive of previous meetings, as well as discussion boards and member biography pages. Wouldn't it be nice if you could make new friends and promote the sale of Alizée stuff, too? Don't forget to mention Alizée's new radio station at AlizeeRadio.com

Now, on to the vain ambition of a long road to glory in New York City.

As we all know, Ben is a television professional living there; how many others in AAm call the city home? Ben, do you belong to any francophone groups in or near the city? Did you ever consider joining "original manhattan french language meetup," - assuming you knew of it? Perhaps there already are some Alizée fans among its 3600-plus registrants who would love to know that Alizée America exists - and maybe would lend a hand on the ground in the city itself. You could even introduce others within its folds to Alizée.

As I <a href="http://alizeeamerica.com/forums/showpost.php?p=156263&postcount=254">outlined</a> previously, a dream is that one day it proves possible to book Alizée to perform at the 400-seat theater of the <i>French Institute Alliance Française</i> in Manhattan. Becoming active in the meetup group could provide the means by which the dream can become a reality and introduce Alizée to professional people in the city who might help her make her way forward there.

As a lay person, I was very impressed how Alizée's people got her so many mass-media interviews in France to promote <i>UEdS</i>! I wonder what is happening in Mexico along these lines.

While I don't want to sell the USA short, when her main publicity push is over and she has recovered, perhaps Alizée would also consent to an interview by Scruffy's San Francisco French TV station. Recall the events to date:

I did a Google search for "French American TV San Francisco" and came up with this web site which must be it: http://www.french-american.tv/

The "Aline" who emailed Scruffy is evidently Aline Dinoia. This evening I'll tweet Her Grace with the information. No guarantee she'll see it of course.

Well I got an an e-mail back from this station saying they wanted me to call them. It was from a woman named Aline.
Here's what it said.

yes she is very cute
but I have no way of getting hold of her.
call me at 415 377 0245
thanks
aline
just tryed to call you
it was a voice mail

I called her back and apparently she was on a speaker phone with a poor connection, plus apparently French is her native language and her English isn't that great so it was very difficult communicating with her. I told her I was going to the autograph session on the 29th and she wanted me to film Alizée, but I couldn't figure out if she wanted me to ask her specific questions or what. I guess I'll just send her footage from the autograph session when I get back.

...Great work on the San Fran... station. It would be strange if Aline did not know the #1 French female recording artist of 2001. (Was her name really [outer space] alien? <G>) She may be playing a bit coy to get you to make arrangements which would be lots of work for her and may prove impossible at that. As for physically visiting the Bay Area, who needs to do so? People have done telephone interviews on TV and radio for DECADES, and in the age of Skype <i>et alia</i> one can even get high quality sound and "body French" for free if the service feels like behaving itself. (I've had disappointments over the years.)

For those of you who are familiar with the French tv station in San Francisco that I tried to get a hold of not to long ago before my trip, well I sent them an e-mail of details about my trip, just on the chance it might get aired.

Scruffy, did you hear back from Aline and her compatriots? I hope you made SURE she knows AAm would be only too glad to provide her with good biographical and industry background material to make the production of an interview of Alizée as easy as possible. Did you mention the good ways to contact the Corsican girl which she reported lacking?

One way is to use the Institubes Web site contact page at http://www.institubes.com/contact/ Observe that it includes the following revealing tidbit: <blockquote><i>PLEASE NOTE THAT WE'RE NOT EVEN CHECKING OUR MYSPACE INBOX SO PLEASE CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS</i></blockquote>Apparently, professional contact media evolve!

And as we know, a new alternative is the wall of the <i>Melle Alizée Bis</i> account on Facebook. And of course, Facebook also allows one to send private messages between accounts. Whether that would get any more attention is open to question, but at least the privacy of the sender is thereby better protected.

Hmm, doc, where so you get your ideas? You claim quite often you are not a financial expert; though, you seem to know a large amount about this kind of thing. I was wondering if you had seen my 'The ULTIMATE Fan Art' thread? I would love to see what you think about that. Anyways, let's keep everything realistic. A small network is doubtful to gain her attention, but it is not impossible. But this meetup site, does it have a French group anywhere in central Virginia? I can't access the site from my phone.

He didn't tell Alizée she should go on the show; instead he worked to get the show to INVITE her to take part.

this is the key!! if Alizee sees that shows are interested and they want her for an interview, she will be more likely to come over because that means that people are becoming more and more interested in her. this is a much better plan then having her create a whole new fan base by coming over here on her own.

Once I make the real one on the transfer paper all the spacing will be automatic. You just lay it in place, press it down, and peel the paper off. The prototype took over an hour. That is way too long. I'll see if I can get a sweet deal on a bunch.

WOW!

I must have missed your previous posting wherein you mentioned French Institute Alliance Française. I had scanned around the City for a venue that might work for her. This place would be perfect.

If she were invited over to this type of venue, it would be just the type of venue that she might accept. Her history has demonstrated that she prefers to perform in 2,000+ seat theaters, however, as this is the USA, and she realizes that she may have to start smaller here, she just might go for a multi-night appearance. She obviously has an interest in New York. This would get her into New York, at a venue she would feel right at home at, with the possibility of being exposed to the right people in NY. :)

There would of course have to be an after-party... :D

Yes, I can't imagine there would not be a reception in such an intimate setting. My hope is that it would allow Alizée to make useful professional contacts in New York City BEYOND those know French. Isn't that what we want to make possible?

A few days ago, I got the urge to go to google and search Alizée under local, expecting maybe to find a place to buy her music. But instead, I found a location in Williamsburg, Virginia named Alizé Bistro (www.alizebistro.com). I contacted them this morning, through that site. I told them some basic facts, like she is French, has four albums, her first was the best selling female French album of 2001, and a few other things. I told them about this site, and our private autograph session. I also sent one of my favorite recent pictures. Hopefully they will respond. If they do, I will let you guys know! I may be in Williamsburg this weekend for mother's day, so if I can, I will try to get my mom to have lunch there. Meet them in person. Too bad I don't have physical albums yet. But mid march, I had ordered Gourmandises at FYE. It has not come in yet, but if it does before Sunday, I will bring it with me, to show them.

You have done well young padawan jk'n man. But yah your post urged me to search for her albums in Virginia. Millions of times before I have tried to see if any stores like Best Buy and stuff will sell her albums and I had no luck. But then I used Google Shopping and found Gourmandises, Mes Courants Electriques, Psychedelices, and Une Enfant Du Siecle all available for Site to Store:eek::eek::eek: Although they are about $15-$20 each I would still love to get them since they are all just amazing and all I have is a CD of UEDS and mp3s of all others. Seeing your guys recent success with spreading her amazingness....well I just have to give an update on my attempts.

-A week ago I went to Anti-Prom with 4 friends at a house(no bad stuff, it wasn't a party, don't worry, and they are mormon). So these mormon, girl-deprived, innocent people think it's so amazing that I got her autograph and they were dying to hear her and watch some of her videos....so while we played CodModWar2 I played all 4 albums, then showed them En Concert DVD on my iTouch, and then showed them all music videos and they really liked it!!! And I was so happy cause those are people that like her for her music and good looks with clothes on! And then I showed them JEAM and their jaws dropped...

-So now 2 of them have about 100 plays for each song on their iPod of her and my best friend that was there now knows how to play piano to alot of her songs.

-I think it was very successful, especially since my friend comes up to me in the hall and says "Bubbles and Water..." in a very seductive way hahahaha.

Thanks for watching and please dispose your trash in the wastebaskets as you exit the theater:D

There is comedic potential here. Rather than simply ask people if they have heard of Alizée or what they think of her music, you could instead tell them you are looking for her and have they seen her, as if she were a missing person or your runaway wife.

It's too bad you are alone, because things could get interesting with just a camera person to help you out. For example, you could go into a store and crawl on the floor looking underneath the bottom shelves with a flashlight. When a salesperson came over to ask what you were doing, you could say you are looking for Alizée Jacotey. When they then ask what this is, you say she is this fantastically talented French entertainer. When then asked why you are looking for a person under shelves, you then explain she is very short and might be hiding. With a bit of editing, a photo of her with some dimensional arrows reading 5' 3" could overlay the audio track. And so on.

Is there a liquor store? Do they sell Napoleon brandy? Then obviously you have to go in there and ask if they sell other stuff named after Corsicans, like... you guessed it.

Many other scenarios present themselves for passing along one or another fact about Alizée in subsequent videos in the serial. The idea would be not only to expose people to Alizée in real life, but through the quirky video series as well.

Among the simpler gimmicks you can try in the absence of help is to look for someone who somehow looks like Alizée, go up to her and then say you thought she was Alizée. This again starts the whole conversation with the oddball guy with the camera.

You can also go into the mall, tell them you've lost contact with someone, and could they be paged? Yes, it's Alizée Jacotey. Afterward, you ask people in the mall if they heard the announcement and have they seen her? What does she look like? Who is she? Etc etc.

Even if you can't get involved in fancy gimmicks, try simple things like getting people to sing the "Never Wanna Leave You" chorus. Heck, you could even offer a free ice cream bar to the best version among a group of kids in the park.

Too bad Scruffydog isn't retired yet, so he could travel with you. He'd love to do funny videos about Alizée!

Neither of us arranged for a camera to be present. But I have a phone with a camera, and he probably does too. But it is his choice whether he wants to appear on camera. If we could come up with some ideas before he gets here, without interrupting his trip, that would be great. But I am not good at comedy, so I will need assistance. We have one week. I won't be too entirely busy, so I will do most of the planning, and pm MYGOGT with details. I just you guys to put ideas up! Please?

So, a few months ago (re: when I had my computer) I joined www.katyperryforum.com, because she is pretty good imho. I have posted on there about our girl, and in less than an hour later, someone there said 'is that the girl from the song lolita?'. So I am spreading the word to a forum full of mostly young teen girls, who I believe were the target audience of Gourmandises. With any luck, I will have a good reaction! And quite a few members there speak French, they have a thread for posting messages in other languages. I of corse used French, and recieved 3 responses in fairly good grammar (as far as my novice French skills can figure), so it may create many fans! I will keep you guys posted.

Good Job VVV!!!

Good job VVV! I am in Birmingham, Alabama tonight and finally have some access. I have been able to give out a few cd samplers en route. I must say that some of the folks around Tulsa were pretty tough to even get to listen. I may have to try English versions on some. Live and learn I guess.

Some viewers complain that YouTube is now generating revenue by running ads you can click off. Well, guess what? A lot of the "show and tell, just girl-talk" videos are actually <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/06/fashion/06skin.html">clandestine infomercials</a>. I guess it had to happen, right?

So you say you can't afford to run a 30-second Superbowl TV ad for Lili, but you'd do anything for her? Then slip one of these shifty YouTube babes some dead presidents and make things happen!

i would raise the money for a lili super bowl aid. that would be epic on unprecedented scales. there would be riots for cd sales in the US

Come on guys, be realistic! I hate to sound somewhat pessimistic, but some of you are just WAY too optimistic. Not every American is a potential fan. Every artist (Alizée), no matter how amazing they may be to some (us), will still be disliked by others (others). While I don't expect everyone in America to turn her down, I would go so far as to say that no less than 50%, probably closer to say 65 or 70%, will not accept her. So we have to work extra hard to find the rest. Remember, we are trying to promote a French artist in a country where most people think French is useless, and French people, beautiful or not, best singer on Earth or not, are not worth the time. But that ís why we must try our very hardest. But do like I did at KPF: appeal to the right market! The ones who have the best chance of liking her. That is how sales are made. I understand branching out to many different target groups, and don't think it is a bad idea, but remember who you are showing her to, and appeal to that group at that tim

street teams. people get the idea, and if it sticks with them, they look her up at home. i've read a couple of the stories on discovery and it seems like people brush it off at first and then go back later. putting fliers out there does more than you think

Update on my Alizée Recruitment Program:

As you know I showed some close friends at my school(5) Alizee. They loved her music and videos, and they asked for some of her stuff. I accidentally gave them all her songs:rolleyes: so they could fall away into a deep trance like all of us do when we hear her music(let alone her videos:wub:). So now I have brought one of those five people to the forum(rob84044(and he has already learned alot and is going to stick around for a long time), and I hope to convince the rest to come here and experience the biggest high there is besides landing on the moon(But Alizee+on the moon=out of this world, literally:D). So yah I have converted 5 young lads to Lillyism, and with their help, I hope to convert many more:D

You folks are doing a great job. I have to come clean. My trip was planned many months before I succumbed to Lilly. I have just tried to include spreading the word along with this trip. One thing I have learned that the south can be a hard sell with French music. I was disappointed in this at first. I could hardly believe the response I was given by some folks. But I must remember that I am somewhat biased in the subject at hand. Tonight I am sitting out on a veranda listening to the gulf waves crash into the shore. I am recharging my batteries so to speak. And having a few beers. This break comes at a most necessary time for me. This is what the trip is about.
I have many sample cd's to give out when VVV and I meet. This was a good idea he has presented. I know our time will be short because of previous engagements I have set up but we will do our best!

Please read the following email I received from VVV:
Hey, this is VVV. Just copy-paste and quote this into a post on the promotion thread you started: I left my house about 9am. I texted back and forth between MYGOGT to set specific details. I was worried I may have trouble convincing my dad I needed to get to Books A Million in Petersburg, but when I said I would be looking for a job (which I did do after our meeting, I am not a liar:D), he said 'Yeah, you probably should.' I saw MYGOGT's GOGT, and headed over to him. He and I spoke a bit, but due to time constraints, didn't have time for much else. But he gave me some demo discs to hand out. First, since I actually wanted to work at BAM, I went there first. I walked in, spoke to the manager about my personal business there (she didn't ask my favorite book, though I had the answer prepared!:D), I went and tucked one disc between the two copies of Lolita they have in stock. The cd case was ticking out, I figure if someone goes for Lolita (they have evidently sold a few copies, since I have been keeping track out of sheer curiosity), they will most certainly see the disc, and hopefully be interested. Next I went to the music store. They have only ever had one French disc in stock, and it disappeared within a week of being put on the shelf. So, I placed a demo disc there, too, underneath the little 'Music of France' placard. As for personal interactions, I did receive one positive response. I went to a game store looking to apply, but the guy started asking me what games I played, trying to get a sale. But I used WoW against him. And explained that it led me to Alizée, and was the best thing video games ever did for me. He seemed pretty interested in the fact she was French, and I explained some raw details, just enough to wet his appetite. So I handed him my last disc. Pointed out the sites on the back. He took to it pretty well. So I will go back by there later to see how it went. Other than that, not much. Thanks to MYGOGT for all he did. Sorry guys, I can't get on!

Good job VVV! I was able to give out another in Va and two more in NH.

copying this over for Scruffydog777:

Letter to a local radio station called Mix 106.7
Dear Sir,
By your station's name it shows you play a mix, a variety of music. Well here's a good chance to prove it. I'd like to request a song that is in English, but sung by a French singer. Her name is Alizée (pronounced Al - e - zay). I'd like to request you to play 1 out of 4 songs that she has (all in English) with the one I'd prefer played listed first, but I'll leave it up to you as to which one you might play. I'll attach Youtube links to videos for these songs.
I found out about this beautiful young singer a little over 3 years ago. Since then I've pretty much stopped listening to music on the radio. I've made up numerous cd's over the years of music I love but they're gathering dust in a cabinet.
I was born and raised in Boston. I'm a huge sports fan. I've suffered through Bob Gibson, Bill Buckner, too many men on the ice (Montreal that time), Bleeping Bucky Dent, Pedro being left in too long, Pats Packers SB. Lenny Bias. Not any more. I haven't watched Red Sox game yet, not even against the Yankees. Didn't watch a Bruins game all season, not even the playoffs. Celtics, same story.
That's the type of affect this girl has on people. I don't understand how I can listen to this beutiful young woman's music as often as I do and not get tired of it. Here are some of her songs that I think you should consider playing.
The first song is Youpidoo. It's about her breaking up with her boyfreind.Has a very catchy beat to it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHJXsio4IqE
Second song is I'm fed up. A song where she sings about laying around in her bubble bath, then singing about all the things she's fed up with.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z15snGzGFpo
Third song is Amelie. It's a song about a character in a French movie called Amelie. Beautiful song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJduKx6bnUI
Fourth song is I'm not twenty, where she's celebrating the fact that she hasn't turned twenty yet.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFhW8HgmiM0
I should also mention she does a beautiful rendition of Madonna's La Isla Bonita that you might consider playing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZlgNj-rIxw 9 million views
Except for Amelie and La Isla Bonita, these 3 songs were re-writes of her French songs. They were written by Mylene Farmer. The most successful female singer in French history. A very talented woman but unfortunately one thing she wasn't that good at was re-writing these songs into English. Some times the story doesn't make sense. It's unfortunate, but I don't think it matters. Your listeners will love this girls voice and they will love the music that was written by Laurent Boutanant, another great talented artist.
Most of these songs were written back in 2003. But I don't think that matters to your listeners. The only thing that will matter to them is that they haven't heard them before. I didn't hear them until 2007 and had no idea they were 4 years old and could not have cared less.
She was at the height of her popularity back in 2003. But unfortunately that was when the relations between our two countries were at their worst. That's the year the phrase freedom fries was coined. No U.S. station would have dared played her music. Which is really a shame. Do a search of Youtube under her name and you'll see how popular she is. All this music of hers getting downloaded into the States and she's not making a penny out of it.
The more you learn about her, the more you realize she is as beautiful on the inside as on the outside. She does a lot of shows for charity. There's no embarressing photos of her, no late night partying, no rehab, no train wrecks. Just a beautiful person who's music I think your listeners would love to hear.
Dare to Mix!
Thank You for your time.

Letter to AmericanWay

I travel fairly often and as a consequence have read your magazine several times.
I have a suggestion on someone you should do a story on that I think many people in America and across the world would love to hear.
Her name is Alizée (pronounced Al - e - zay), a French singer whose name is as beautiful as her.
Here are links to a few pictures of her.

Alizée at 18 -

Alizée at 25 -

She was born on Corsica, France (same place as Napoleon) in 1984.
Her parents loved to windsurf so they decided to name her after a trade wind that blows through parts of Africa and the Caribbean, called an Alize. Well with the French, everything has a gender and Alize is masculine, so you add an e to the end and it becomes Alizée.

At the age of 11, she won a competition to design a new paint scheme for an airplane, of which, I'll attach a picture here.

http://yfrog.com/5aalizee17pyj

She studied dance from the age of 4. At the age of 15, a freind talked her into entering a talent show. She didn't realize until she got there that the dancing competition was for teams and she was by herself, so she entered the singing competition instead. She finished second, but more importantly, in the process, her efforts were noticed by Mylene Farmer and Laurent Boutanant. These are two tremendously talented French artists. Mylene Farmer is the most successful female singer in French history and a lot of her success is due to Laurent Boutanant who composes music for her and who she studied the arts with in college and they've worked on many projects together over the years.

They talked her parents into letting Alizée drop out of high school and moving to Paris to pursue her new career. She was an overnight success. She had 2 songs in the top 3 of the song charts for France for 3 months, something that no other French artist had accomplished before. She made it into the top 10 in England, something that was tremendously difficult for a foreign artist, not singing in English to do. She would fly home to Corsica on just about every weekend to be with freinds and family.

In 2003, Alizée performed 5 songs in English. The first was a beautiful rendition of Madonna's La Isla Bonita. This is how I found out about her. Another one was Amelie, which was a song about a character in the French movie Amelie. The movie won several awards, including in this country, despite having English subtitles. I'll attach a few links to some of her music. In 2003 she was at the height of her popularity. I think her English songs would have been played in this country except this was the time when the relations between our 2 countries were at their worst. This was the year the name freedom fries replaced french fries in our restaurants. Because of this I think she is one of the artists who has suffered the most financially from pirating. If her music had been played here, she would have made millions. Instead her music is readily down loaded for free from outlets such as Youtube. On Youtube there has been over 5 million views for La Isla Bonita, 25 million for J'en ai marre (of which there are several versions of). Here are a few links to some of her music. The first 2 in English, the last 3 in French.

Roman just did a very good thing, so my story won't sound near as good.
BTW Roman, you are awesome for spreading her to Radio Stations and all:D

Ok so as you all know I showed all my friends her blah blah blah they like her, lover her music, thinks she is amazingly beautiful and watch her stuff all the time and spread her to others, well her is a story of me converting another to Lillyism, and this one is different.

Pay attention to the stuff in bold/underlined...

This is one of our Fbook conversations just now...
Matthew
Aaron, you are the f****n best, man! I love just about all of the songs you sent me, and I watched the entire concert video 3 times! It's amazing!

Me
WHAT!!!!NOWAY!!!

Matthew
Heck yeah, dude

Me
Dude you are even more dedicated than I was when I first found her! Let's just say you are lucky to have me since I just got the video like a couple months ago and have still only watched the whole thing like 7 times hahaha

Matthew
yeah... I can't help it, she's too Hot!!!!!!!!!!!

Me
:D:D:D:D:D

Matthew
Yeah... I've got her playing in the background right now
She's so great!!!!!!!!!!!

Me
Dude you can't even comprehend how Glad I am that I showed you her stuff.....THIS IS AMAZING@!@@@
For 7 months I have played her and watched her every day and can't even think of getting tired of her....

Matthew
Yeah, I owe it all to you dude!

Me
She is probably the closest one person could get to perfect....

Matthew
And i think getting tired of her is a crime

Me
haha no problem, glad to give you the best tihing any man could have
Exactly!!! Dude now I just have to get you to join the forum so you can get the thoughts you have of her out to the world....and that site has the best video collection to watch online:D

Matthew
And yeah, she's soooooo close to perfection, sigh SO BEAUTIFUL!

Me
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Matthew
And yeah, I'll do that tomorrow when i have time to go on m computer again

Me
Dude she is just flat out amazing....I have so much to teach you haha

1)He already knows what Lilly-crimes are
2)I just gave him the En Concert for his iTouch 6 hours ago and he has already watched it 3 times.
3)He knows how hot/beautiful she is
4)He is going to join the forum
5)He has only played Alizee ever since I gave him her stuff...

This kid is probably more crazy about her than I was...then again he has me to help him out. And this all came from me asking a close friend if he liked French Pop one night. And it's an example of people saying, "Eh sure why not, what is this?!, THIS IS AMAZING!!!".

So I think this is my greatest conversion yet and he is going to spread it to all of his friends.

It is just so nice to see someone love her as much as I did when I first started out...

So now Stafford High School has 7 Lilly Fans, 3 of which are on the forum and enjoy it to no end. Thanks for listening:D

Hey Aaron, if you read the fine print, you'll see those were my letters. Roman asked me if he could copy them here from another thread and I said okay. Doesn't really matter though. All that matters is we try and spread the word.

In the AmericanWay letter, there were several shortcuts to pictures and videos that were in the original letter that for some reason didn't transfer when I copied and pasted this letter here.

I'm always trying to think of different media outlets to contact. I'm even going to send a letter to Oprah! She's the champion of different causes and I'm going to point out how much it has cost Alizée by her music being pirated and by being spread by outlets by Youtube. If we contact enough people, eventually someone will do a story on her.

sumi1
05-20-2010, 11:04 PM
And Alizee's regular performances at Les Enfoires might also be helpful.

Given America's diverse population, I feel there must be some radio stations/tv shows/magazines etc. that target French immigrants. Can we try contacting them? If they agree, that might be great.

Roman

Um, yeah. It was actually the large print right at the beginning: copying this over for Scruffydog777.

:) No matter, it's what you guys are doing that is important and one can not miss it when you bring people into the fold.

@Aaronius31, good job man. That's what we like to hear, spreading the word and getting her stuff out there. She has undeniably changed, but even though she is still making new music, the older stuff also deserves to be shared or I should say that people deserve to have the chance to enjoy it and maybe a fan of one will become a fan of the other. We know how much Scruffy enjoys the early days and has made several fan videos about it but also continues to support her now. Meeting her has an exciting effect, does it not dog?

As for Alizée's appeal, I don't really know, but I think it would be easier to interest people trying to learn French, younger people in particular, though I think she has more appeal for older people now too. Other than that, just anyone who enjoys the music really. Enya's musical style may flow a bit more and be less dependent on understanding, but years ago when I was in my early to mid twenties I got a CD of hers and it has songs all in a foreign language and I fully enjoyed it having no idea what she was saying. I remember there are certain songs where I just liked certain sounds she was making. It was the same with Alizée at first. I eventually looked it up just out of curiosity, but it continued to matter little just as many fans of Alizée continue to listen to her music for years without learning any French.

Just an update. I talked to many people, most of whom immediatley dismissed her for being Frenc. But one person, as stated in my e-mail to MYGOGT, accepted her. I don't know if he joined here, but he liked her. He may be 'fan'. And if I can only mae one new fan, I would be satisfied. Other than that, I still have two sample discs, waiting for their potential owners. I mention her to lots of people, and pursue the conversation if it seems feasible. I will keep trying. Let's all keep trying! For Alizée!

One idea is pretty much what people have already done a lot of, create fan videos and post them to YouTube or some other video site. But, one could take that another step further and create videos of photos you have taken or something with Alizée music in the background. Send those to people you know or anyone who might be interested and use that as a reason to mention the singer in the music and bla bla bla...
Create/join a jazz, pop, electronica music group somewhere and use whatever Alizée song fits that genre of music as an entry into conversation. She does now have enough different kinds of songs to enter into various types of conversations, especially with the variety on Psychédélices.

For those who don't know (the old timers on this site, haha you can't read this jk'n), Alex, Merci Alizee, many others, and I have been trying to spread Alizee on facebook since it is one of the most popular site in the world. We have invited many people and are growing at a rate of 5-10 users/ day. It is working and people are noticing her a lot. We have posted a lot of her performances and interviews on there, and all her music videos. But sadly the 2 days I took to upload En Concert by song in HQ were a waste since Facebook took them down due to copyright issues. So I won't try that again, I might. But anyways, so yah we are growing on Facebook and it is getting her out there since us American fans are spreading her to Americans! We(her) are slowly taking over the world, one country and site at a time:D

I wrote this at http://alizeeamerica.com/forums/showthread.php?p=166991 but it applies more here really. And good job Aaronius31. I wonder what new fans do now-a-days.
Well, I pretty much agree with you there. It would be great if all the great ideas and contributions that have been posted here over the years could be kept in a discoverable way. Instead, even though everything is here for years to come, it mostly just gets buried under everyone's comments; so we almost might as well be simply doing "chat". That means that new people ask all the same questions and we post all of the same things over and over. To an extent that's good because it gives people the ability to continue to have a reason to communicate, but on the other hand, there is so much art, ideas, promotional materials, links to download stuff, ideas that just get lost to time.
I don't know what to do about that except to do what has been attempted on Alizee-forum.com through was called the Alizee-fanpage.com (see gallery and news section now). But that takes people to update and it has not been made easy to contribute to updates. Somethink like a wiki would work, but it doesn't seem like wikipedia.org is a great place to attempt to put so much stuff. They place a lot of restrictions on things that are not appropriate for fans' needs.
I guess this discussion is going toward this thread Promoting Alizee / AAm (http://alizeeamerica.com/forums/showthread.php?p=166975).

I like Youtube's feature of being able to add links to other channels on your page. If someone who's got a huge number of viewers were to feature her channel on their page, it would definitely get her more views. I think it would be good if she had more official videos on her channel. I hate their policy of not making enough videos officially available for free.

If you have 100 subscriptions, few people will look at all of them.

But I was referring to something else. There's a module that you can enable for your page which shows you a list of up to 16 featured channels.

On my channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/lucian1kimiraikkonen) I have a section that says "Other Channels That I Like - please take a look !" The title for it is customizable. I could have used for example "Please take a look at Alizée's channel" and only put her channel in that list. If you put it as the only featured channel it will get noticed more often than when you just put it among many others. I've only put it third on my list since I frankly like other channels more.

To add something more, it's unbelievable that some stupid videos with a kid biting his or another one's finger was among the most viewed videos last year (if I remember correctly). What is needed is one person with a very popular that is popular especially for other videos (let's say you add tons of football videos daily and you've got lots of subscribers and people who comment on your channel every day). If the channel owner would feature only Alizée's channel there, it would surely get her many views. And her channel should better have a large viewable content, or else people will not want to visit it regularly for only 1 or 2 videos (how many does she have now ? 2 songs ?)

Well, I have no idea about where you can get it done in USA.

Do you want to make multiples copies of many samples? I'm not expecting that you have thousand different samples. So, if you want to do this at home and if you have to create multiple copies of a sample then you can use a duplicator. By using it you will be able to burn many CDs without less effort and in lesser time too. The prices of a duplicator vary and you can get a good one for about $ 500.

Even a CD can hold a decent amount of video though. It might even be better to tempt one with a few good things and get them to come here and start searching for the rest. That way, they get into it and the pursuit is what holds their attention long enough to become engaged in fandom.

You could put about 2g on a typical format cd-r. I had all her music videos, as well as the ACC DLL performance, on one dísc. But that is if you set the cd to be used similar to a flash drive. I hope you know how to do that.

I hate to argue, but I'm pretty sure one can not get anywhere near 2 gigabytes of data on a CD, hence the need for DVD. But, maybe you compressed the stuff a lot. Anyway, it matters little. The point still stands that one can create great demos either way. It's just a matter of how much and of what quality one thinks is the strategic play. I would makes DVDs and share out everything I have with fans who are already in that limerence stage, but until I go through it and collect only the best quality of everything, I'm looking at 165GiB of stuff and that's obviously way past even a couple DVDs. How much do BlueRays hold? :)
Unfortunately, while someone has been trying to download my whole library on DC++ lately, it seems like my ISP may be throttling me down and it's affecting my browsing if I let it run too much. Sorry whoever that is. Need a T3!

Recordings held by lending libraries are another way of promoting Alizée.

Did you know that something resembling a union catalog of many of the important libraries of the world exists? Its name is WorldCat. Find its free
online search interface at: http://www.worldcat.org/

<table cellpadding="10" border="10"><tr><td> <i>WorldCat is a union catalog which itemizes the collections of 71,000 libraries in 112 countries which participate in the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) global cooperative... Created in 1971, it contains more than 150 million different records pointing to over 1.4 billion physical and digital assets in more than 470 languages. It is the world's largest bibliographic database.</i> - Wikipedia</td></tr></table>
The aspect of interest to us now is that you can search for audio CDs and video DVDs, as well as codices and other materials. An interesting question is how many copies of Alizée's four studio audio albums and the "Alizée En Concert" DVD are held by participating libraries.

A current audit is now available online.
1. Gourmandises (http://www.worldcat.org/profiles/FanDeAliFee/lists/1805251) (2000)
2. Mes Courants Électriques (http://www.worldcat.org/profiles/FanDeAliFee/lists/1805411) (2003)
3. Alizée En Concert (http://www.worldcat.org/profiles/FanDeAliFee/lists/1805571) (2004)
4. Psychédélices (http://www.worldcat.org/profiles/FanDeAliFee/lists/1805431) (2007)
5. Une Enfant Du Siècle (http://www.worldcat.org/profiles/FanDeAliFee/lists/1805531) (2010)

As expected, "Gourmandises" is the most widely held title, with 13 to 14 librares reporting they own a copy. Only three libraries hold "Alizée En
Concert." And with the very recent release of "Une Enfant Du Siècle," it is hardly surprising that no library reports owning a copy yet.

WorldCat may be the best of its kind that exists, but it is certainly not a union catalog for ALL the libraries of the world, not even all those of the United States. In particular, the two Alizée titles held by the French Cultural Center of Boston are not discovered using WorldCat.

In closing, let me remark that Alizée still enjoys some French music industry records to this very day. According to Wikipedia, <i>Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Albums_Chart) (SNEP)</i> makes the following assertions.

"Moi... Lolita" holds the record for the most weeks in the top 10, some 31 weeks, well over half a year. But it shares this honor with one other title, one of whose artists is Alizée's fellow Corsican Patrick Fiori, with whom she earlier this month co-hosted <i>Fête de Saint-Érasme</i> in Ajaccio.

But "Moi... Lolita" enjoys a unique honor as well. It is the song which spent the most time in the number two spot, 13 weeks, an entire quarter of a year.

Alizée's release this year peaked at position number 24 in France.

EDIT: For the hood, how about what some people use on their bumpers. They have an oval shaped figure with a three letter code for countries they've been in. Like ITA for Italy, but in this case it would be ZÉE for Alizée.

I just had a great idea! not sure how many of you watch America's Got Talent, but what if some fans that are talented in instruments or dancing perform something using Alizée's music! yeah this may seem kind of dumb at first, but it's better than no plan at all. there are other competitive shows out there for dancing/singing and that could also boost promotion here in the US.

and of course, who ever enters can throw in the link for AAm :D

We need to contact these people before hand instead of at the last moment like we did last year. With her recent success, this will be a golden opportunity.

As Shepherd said, nice work. I love that remix, but there is room for improvement. There are scenes, especially around the 2:30 mark, that look like they are speeded up or something, then later on, you change scenes so quickly, there is little time to focus on her and that is one thing you want fans to do, and that is to focus on her.

Thanks ! So as not to go off this topic there is a longer answer below with a link to a more updated mix and i'll continue the discussion there if you're so inclined . For a short answer , the speeded up parts to someone such as yourself alike many Alizée fans having seen those scenes many times myself included until watching my mix many times and getting used to it . When the clips are off normal speed faster or slower is something to become accustomed to or to say don't match in your mind with the normal speed so seem off or the parts where i cheated and it isn't even the same words . Also i know this version as well the one linked below aren't perfectly matched quite yet for lip sync but again seemed a good enough version to share for the AAM - Alizée promo topic + the request link below . Lastly most important is my video was inspired by other mixes such as yours where i said i can do better . Of course no offense meant there as each individual will create what they like best but the inspiration came from others such as yourself a creator . Plus with that idea in mind i'd hope my video will inspire others to perhaps follow fur suit and create how they'd like Alizée video clips mixed better but as is similarly furry . . None had made an all fur mix and it seemed a must do , anyways i'm still working on this video but the above version had the right AAM logos and i didn't want to keep her to myself .

Alizee is looking a bit tanky here, but she is SINGING. I think she's wearing a jacket to disguise her bulk. A bit overweight or not she looks great to me. And she is SINGING.

With all that vigorous dancing, she might not be singing. She is probably lip-sinking. I wonder if that counts as a break in her refusal to sing? That might not even be her voice.

More speculation: It's unusual for a dancer to put on weight. Could Alizee be pregnant? She said, she and Greg were trying to have a baby.

I dunno she has always been a small frame short and a bit plump , i think many of us here or fans of her were always attracted to that style of grrl .
Definitely isn't singing but its obviousilly her voice and refreshing to hear this beautiful voice in English once again . So she is singing , i didnt hear she is refusing to sing but guessing as always she may have said it once but like her saying once about English not her forte it was only once and amounts to nothing . As for karaoke well she is a dancer and that isn't easy to do both but even singing live unless we are there its still a recording so to me there is no difference in lip synching or not . Honestly i believe too much is made of that since the milli vanilly incident . While of course to sing live is better to myself and others in a show like this where its more about dancing i don't care . As for the jacket using that to hide i doubt that as aren't there recent pics without jackets ? To touch on pregnancy - she maybe a dancer so to speak but not in the classical sense of never to fluctuate weight or always stay super slim . Plus with age this will definitely happen and with the dancing and exercise you get bigger - look at Priscilla Betti for instance there she is also tiny framed but her legs got muscular most likely from the workouts and dancing . Which isn't to say she also didn't continue to be phenomenal looking , both only improve with age . Also all grrlz will go up n down the scale during times of the year , month and so on . But who knows maybe she is knocked up and if so congratulations to her , G and little sister who'll get a sibling . I agree she looks awesme as always , regardless <3

I still get new subscribers to my 4 Youtube channels every now and then. I guess like us, they stumble upon something incredibly beautiful and different as we did and though she's still a very beautiful woman, I can't help but think they are more mesmerized by the MF era. If you look at those 4 videos Shepherd posted, 2 were published in 2017 and the other in 2014 and 2015 respectively, but all the images of her were from 2003 or prior. I think she can still impress the way she did back in 2003, but she lost too much, when she walked away from MF and LB.

The Beatles when they broke up, came up with some good songs individually, but the thing people will always remember is the group. They complimented each other.

The music of Laurant Boutannat, the lyrics of MF and the beauty, the voice and the dancing of Alizée were just a unique experience from what we've experienced in the past and it will continue to impress people who are new to her for many years to come.

It's too bad what happened after the break up. I feel her career afterwards was terribly mismanaged. So much potential talent was there, but it went to waste because they found out too late if you put that talent in the hands of people who don't know how to manage it and in the case of someone who is as beautiful as her, how to package it, you are wasting your time. They could not have made worse decisions, even if they had just grabbed someone randomly off the street.

It can't be what it was back in 2003, but I feel there is still a lot of potential for great music, songs, dances and beauty,
and success, if you just find someone to make the right decisions on how to put it all together.

The whole MF era was sublime and I would be lying if I said it is not my favourite era and I was not dissapointed when I found out it happend a long time ago.
The more I focused on her whole career and not only at the early years the more you can overlook this era, IMO. I also get enjoyment out of watching her newer videos. She is not in her 20´s anymore and looks more mature. It's part of life, everyone gets older... She is still a very beautiful woman.

The videos below were posted on YouTube in 2013/'14, but I saw them the first time tonight. I thought you might be interested in them.

This photo was taken last Saturday Dec 9th. Alizée, Greg and Annily were visiting the Disney park in Paris over the weekend.

For the benefit of newer fans... This photo was from when she attended a fashion show in March 2013, just a few weeks before "5" was released.

2013, a great year. Her outfit looks very classy and nice.

That is what I was thinking. DisneyLand is a perfect place to take a kid, and there is no kid in the picture, so she is probably the one taking it.

Annily posted this picture on Instagram channel. She mentioned DALS, so their visit there must be Tournée related with a side trip to Disney.

That's one thing that always bothered me about this video. These dolls looked more like linebackers for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Some enlightening interviews I haven't seen before.
Ok, I admit, I haven't a clue what she's saying, but I don't care.

The first one I had translated a couple of years ago.

The second one, if you click on the CC button to turn on the closed captions, then click on the gear symbol next to it and click on auto translate and select English, this translation though far from perfect I think gives you the gist of what is being said.

Thank you Scuffy. "Moon’s balls" is a curse I've never heard before. Must be a French thing. Knowing Alizee, it's probably not very aggressive. Probably something in the range of "Oh, rats."

On the second video, my only choice of language is French, which doesn't work for me as I don't speak French.

Today I had to get some work done on my car to fix the exhaust system, so I brought it to the dealer. I usually leave the cd player on with an Alizee disc in it of course. Just about every time I get it back the cd player is either off or with the sound turned down so low, you can't hear it. This time, I made it a point to select 'Hey Amigo and so it was just a little bit into the song when I shut it off. When my car was done and I hopped in it and started it up and before I had touched anything else, ACC, which was 5 songs later, started playing. I think there might be a new Alizee fan out there.

I always turn the audio off or at least all the way down when I work on cars. I need to hear any sounds the car may be making. The funny thing is how many people can't figure out that the volume is turned down and come back saying the radio is broken. #peoplearesilly
