The first place on the Web many (most?) people will head when they want to learn more about Alizée is her Wikipedia article. If someone wants a job, he can review and revise the article there now. Remember, sources should be documented and the article must be written from a neutral point of view.

I personally updated the article for the first time (anonymously), writing the following:

The music video of the first single "Les Collines" was released on 19th March, 2010 by Alizée's official YouTube channel, which then peaked as the daily most-viewed[51] musician's channel worldwide. A new official Facebook site debuted in early April, which indexes 6 other official Web sites the artist maintains.

As you may know, Wikipedia is published in multiple, independent language editions. Thus, information may be available in one edition which you cannot find in another edition. Clearly, the French and Spanish articles have something to contribute on account of her Alizée's career successes in France and Mexico. And if there is a language edition lacking an article on Alizée, one can create a new article in that language by translating one of the existing articles using an automated tool like Google Translate. This would help people who read that language discover Alizée.

For convenience, here are links to the various articles:

English

While chatting on facebook, I showed my friend a link to an ÀCC performance and he was going crazy in love for about 5 seconds, but then he replied that her wikipedia page said she was married so there was no point in liking her

Interestingly enough, that's what my dad always says to me too..
I guess by being a fan, it implies that I want to marry her?

Yes, this.
That statement about her "being married, so why bother" is part of a mentality showing that a person thinks selfishly. It also shows that they hold themselves in too high a regard..."Like if Alizée was not married, she'd definitely want to go out with me"...is so narrow in one's thinking and point of view.

You should tell your friend that it's o.k. to enjoy an artist's work, even if they are married to someone else, and not him.

I often compare the situation to something more familiar. For example Taylor Swift, an American attractive female musician that has many male fans, but the majority of them don't fall head over heels for her. I tell them to pretend Alizée is Taylor Swift. Just because somebody is a fan of "Taylor Swift" doesn't mean they're trying to be with her. There is such a thing as being a fan of an artist whose music you enjoy and good works you admire. And this is exactly how I see both MJ and Alizée.

Wait so is her marriage a reason for the decline in amount of fans possible? Because of that whole "She is married, so why bother"?

No. I don't think so. I mean, though her style of music has changed since she got married, nothing else really has. She doesn't really show that she's married, she does her best to keep the personal things about her life to herself.

Besides, how many pictures of them together have you seen? Not that many right? She still does project a single image.

On the marriage thing, your friend was probably most attracted to her face. After all, if it was ÀCC Dans la Lumière, well, that as her most beautiful. My brother finds her very attractive, but he dislikes her music, so he doesn't watch her videos just to see her. Back on topic, there are quite a few things on her wikipedia article that need updating. It sometimes mentions Psych as her most recent work, and speaks of UEdS in the future tense. It also says limelight is the first single, before correcting itself to say NLY is. I would love to make a ton of correctons, as well as change the picture from the Psych autograph to the UEdS autograph session, but I can't do any of it from my phone.

Merci Alizée

Good suggestions, VVV. I was updating wiki page for her till the release of UEdS. But didn't do anything after that. So, I would like to see more people giving suggestions here and then update it. It's one of the important pages on web from where a new fan gets their first impression about Alizée's career. As you mentioned in other threads that we need more fans, then for that we have to work on every single aspect whether it's small or big and wiki page is the one.

To a certain extent and for other sections, it's ok, but it goes bad in the second para of that "personal life" section, at least in my opinion.

There is more than one irreverent parody of Wikipedia. I don't lose any sleep over them.

Perhaps you saw the post in which I explore if people who find Alizée's fish-mimicry at the end of the JEAM dance provocative have transphibian inclinations. Well, it would appear the people at Encyclopedia Dramatica opine it's more about being into elephants.

Elephants? I'm confused here, how'd they go from the JEAM fish to an elephants?

This whole entire page is somewhat painful to read without a good sense of humor. Otherwise, it probably would've just pissed me off. :p

Yeah, you're right. A person who is not a fan and doesn't know about her, can't write so many things about her, although in a different way.

I might be wrong but I think the article about her at Uncyclopedia was much better and funnier a few months ago. Now it's so different from what I remember that it must have been rewritten from scratch.

I read that a while ago. When I first read it, it didn't seem like it was written by a fan, more like an ex-fan, so it was definitely in the degrading side. Plus I had never heard of that site before, so I was a little bit, irritated. Somebody edited out a lot of the shit parts out, and some of the actual funny stuff too. It's not so bad right now.

I decided not to take the final step and link to the actual page. But if you dare go there, you won't miss the point I made.

When I was a lad in Brooklyn, one day in the school-yard another boy asked me what was gray and came in quarts. I've been afraid of the circus ever since.

I added the list of remixes in wikipedia page for Les Collines : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Collines_%28Never_Leave_You%29#Track_listings.

Can someone improve this article?
