View Full Version : L'e-mail a des ailes. What happened here.

During her performance of L'e-mail a des ailes during En Concert, Alizée moves over to guitarist Olivier Marly. They look at each other for a couple of seconds, then she jerks her head away. It somehow didn't look like a planned dance move to me. He had a very serious look on his face before, then has a grin on his face after. Do you think it was planned, or did some type of playful inter-action happen between the two? I guess some one who was lucky enough to see 2 of her En Concert performances would know?

I don't think that anything unusual happened there or she was lost into the eyes of guitarist. I can't tell what was going into her mind, but video doesn't indicate anything like that.
Yeah, you can definitely ask the person who attended two of those concerts.

See, this is why wen you guys were talking about someone named 'Olivier' a few weeks ago, I thought you meant this Olivier. They have a lot of little interactions on stage that seem very intimate.

Hmm I wouldn't read too much into it. I noticed this exchange even during the first time I saw "En Concert," but you've got to figure that with all the time they all spent touring together, they would naturally be close with each other. It doesn't necessary mean there's anything going on. I mean the drummer taught Lilly a thing or two about drumming as well. And think about the time she probably spent with the other dancers getting their moves right and everything. So I'd go with the "playful interaction" theory. Same goes for when the two guitarists sandwich her towards the end of "Moi Lolita." Hehehehe. She's so cute.

Most of the time we think that this playful theory was Mylene's concept. Watch her concert video, you will understand what I mean.

I bet things were awkward with Jeremy and the En Concert performances haha. But yah she does get playful with the band. Did you notice her jumping around once she announced the drummer during A Contre-Courant? That was pretty playful there. And yes the "Lolita Sandwich", then there is the Mon Maquis dance she did around the drummer. I think if she was to be playful with anyone it was definitely the drummer that she had more interactions with.

True, although Mylène often takes it beyond "playful":

Yeah I too think it was just done "for show" and meant nothing. Some of my favourite parts of En Concert were her flirtations with the musicians, but it's difficult to say how much of it was rehearsed and how much was spontaneously done.

I agree most of it is just playful interaction, but there is this one moment during one of her performances that stood out to me. I can't remember what performance it was, or which song she was performing, but I remember Alizée looking to her right and smiling in a very particular way. I know she smiles a lot when she sings, and often gives the impression that she's flirting, but trust me, I've seen around 100 different videos of Alizée performing and this one moment made such an impact that I still remember it.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned, I don't remember during what performance it was, but I'll keep looking for it until I find, so you guys can see what I mean.
I'm pretty sure that it wasn't during a performance of Gourmandises, PTB, or JPVA, so it was either during Moi... Lolita, L'Alize, JEAM, or ACC.

There are spontaneous patterns that emerge in posting on this and other forums, so that similar ideas flurry at the same time. At the moment, here, it seems to be "does she fool around?" All based on flirtation seen on stage, which probably means nothing.
(On the other hand, one could speculate as to why, after co-producing Psychédélices and writing over half the music, Jérémy has absolutely no presence whatever on UEDS . . . but if there's anything to that, my guess would be it's his attitude rather than her misbehavior.)
It was a blown kiss that Alizée caught on the cheek. Looks impromptu (but is as good as if choreographed) and matches nicely with the instrumental transition. I noticed it many moons ago and never saw it as anything more than part of the show. Doubly so given the french faire la bise.

I'm quite sure with all the examples sited here that Alizee was doing the band, backup singers, stage crew and most if not all of the roadies lol. This thread is quite sad and embarrasing even if it is done in fun. Are you so bored that you need to make shit up? Go out more often and get some fresh air.

When I said an interaction on stage, I meant just a playful, joking type of interaction. Nothing more.
One reason I like analysing little snippets of videos of her performances is because it's another way of promoting Alizée. There are a lot of people who watch Youtube for new videos and if you can post a video, especialy one that includes a good picture of her in the posting, that's a free ad. Trouble is with short videos, you can't change the picture the way you can in longer ones.

That dance around the drummer definitely caught my eye as you can see with this video I posted a few months ago. Being in his position, seeing her dance over in his direction, bathed in the rays of those red lights, then just dancing in front of him, with that beautiful smile, then when she danced around him and the way she looked back at him was just priceless. If I was him, I would have been dying a thousand deaths inside. Seeing her so close, but knowing I didn't have a chance with her.

Well, when I said intmately, I didn't mean like you think. I just meant they were obviously close friends, and very close. Not sexually. I have been very close with a few girls that I would be more 'intimate' as I see it than with a few girls I have dated. Intimate to me means a little bit more than physically close. It doesn't mean touching or caressng each other. It means being near each other. Comfortable with coming within a few inches of each other, and not feeling akward. Like when you can come near face-touching-face, and not be wierded out by each other. When you see each other, you greet with a hug as opposed to a handshake or whatever. That's how I mean intimate, and that's how I see Alizée and Olivier in the dvd. I don't see them as sexually interested in each other. Or even interested in dating each other. I was surprised when people interpretted my post as that. I was caught quite off guard!

Yes, when you first hear the word intimate, then something of a a sexual nature, I think automaticaly comes up (no pun intended). I think Olivier would have much rather played for a band like the Stones or AC/DC and might have resented playing for a "girl singer" at first. But I think working with her, finding out what a wonderful person she is, he came to love her in a professional way and was intimate with her in a professional way, and knowing you as I do, I'm sure, that's how you meant it.
Edit:
While we're on the subject. Here's a short clip from her performance of J'ai pas vingt ans at the Eiffel tower. She's looking into the crowd, then she sort of gets this look that she's embarressed, then she looks away.

When I first saw some of these performances I wondered if the band may have tried to take advantage of a young woman with new fame. But I believe nothing like that was the case. I think it is part of the performance. OK, maybe I hope it was just the performance. Only a select few would know the whole story.

Wait, I sincerely hope you didn't think I was being serious. I was just trying to make a point of how I agreed that while we understand each others' poits of view about Alizée, we don't actually know each other personally. I never know what you are like until I meet you. If you thought I was calling you a jerk, I wasn't. I apologize if it seemed that way. But I still don't actually know you. Anyone could tell me they are a good person all they want. But when I met MYGOGT in person, he was much different than I expected. So I now never assume anything about anybody. Sadly, yes, that means I don't assume you are a good person outside of doing what amazng things you have for Alizée and her fans. The flipside of tat is that I would never assume you were a bad person either. I can't know unless I meet you. But I have met MYGOGT, and we talked enough about other non-Alizée subjects for me to know he is a good person. And he has vouched for you. So I would assume you are a good person, if I assumed anything.

You know your saying I might be a huge jerkwad, implies I might be a huge jerkwad and maybe you are right. Maybe I am. But I guarantee you if another oportunity like this comes up again for an autographed cd for a new album. Your name will not be on that list.
I think he was making a joke, you're definitely not a jerkwad. You've done far too much for Alizee promotion-wise to be a mean person! :)

It could have been planned, or just a playful moment. Funny to watch though.

Funny to watch indeed. I think whether it was planned or just playful, that this moment was nothing serious between the two. So yah....Off-Topic time?!:Djk'n

I think that a little bit of being culturally challenged Americans may be a part of this whole debate. Americans automatically see everything as it would relate to the sexual. French people are very open about displaying their affections openly to those that are friends of either sex. Lets see, they kiss each other on the cheek as a part of a friendship greeting, my Sandy had a part French upbringing and she said the same thing. The French are not so tied up culturally like we Puritanical Americans are. Those exchanges onstage may or may not have been planned choreography, but be certain of this, it was a friendly encounter between close friends, to read into it anything more would be a false assumption in my opinion.

Yeah, I saw this video on your youtube channel, but I have to say, I don't think it was much. It was simply Alizée being too cute and too playful that we can't help but fawn over it.
