Alizée video of the month maybe? Your thoughts?

I think it's a good idea, but I believe getting more people involved is important. As with the podcast and all other projects that have been done in the past, the heavy lifting usually falls on one person. It's only a matter of time before that one person just gets burned out and the effort falls by the wayside. Sharing the burden among more people may make it easier to keep a project like this going.

By the way, there is now an Alizée America YouTube account. We will have to check with Ben, but maybe it could also be used to also host these monthly videos. http://www.youtube.com/user/AlizeeAmericaVideos

I like this idea, and lefty is right about the work falling on one person's shoulders. If we had a few volunteers to gather information for the different sections like the pictures or comments on recent events that you mentioned, and then for another to simply put that into a video to upload, it would work. It would be a great addition to the AAm youtube channel. :)

I know school and work take priority for all of us but with having it only once a month and short 5-15 (the max now on youtube) minutes it should be doable, especially if we have multible hosts or caretakers.

Ben set up the YouTube account to host videos like we have on this site. I think the plan is to possibly offload the videos here to YouTube, thus saving on server costs. Since he set it up for that purpose for AAm, I thought he may want to weigh in on how the YouTube account can be used.

Definitely. If we just carry on posting here and there and not really doing anything or getting creative and involved, then the forum will be more likely to encounter many dry spots and will have more of a chance of dying out than if it were more active.

I myself do not know much about video editing/making and things like that as I haven't really ever tried or downloaded software but I would definitely be willing to help where possible. Especially if this will get the forum up and going a little more from time to time, making things a little more exciting, I would try to contribute in some way even if it is as simple as pitching ideas.

I use windows movie maker for my youtube it works for the stuff I want to do. I dont know if it will do what we want for an AVOM.

I too, think it's a great idea. You're right that the burden would have to be shared. I've posted many videos on Youtube but still consider myself an amateur. Videos can be quite time consuming to put together, looking for a scene that's just right. It's a lot of trial and error, with many errors on my part. I use a program called Womble that is kind of low budget, doesn't have all the special affects you see today, but it works for what I want to do.

We still need to hammer down some nails. We still to figure out who can be hosts, who can find out information on concerts and all things Alizée, what sections we can have other than the picture and promotion sections, and how we're going to get the video to ben so he can upload it to the youtube account.

OK I know that only a few people are interested in this idea right now but i think if we make a couple videos more people will contribute. So I'm going to volunteer as the host for the first video for late september(hopefully). School starts this week for me so ill be buzy until I get into a groove.

I want ideas for topics to talk about.

1 picture of the month vote by AA members
2 Alizée promotion in America ( or where ever you live) - If someone has the video of the people who met up in new york a couple years ago we could use that video for an example.
3 Alizée news ( upcoming concerts/interviews/ect) Does anyone have contacts for this information?

Well we won't be hammering down nails unless we discuss the specifics. So I agree with MerciAlizee that we should make a seperate thread from this one for the video for September, that way you and others can discuss the specifics and not get it combobulated and mashed with the ideas being posted here.

IMPORTANT: Guys just to let you know the Alizee America Youtube Account is still being planned out and doesn't have any videos and Ben is hard to reach at this time. I suggest you guys make a different Youtube Account specifically for this. I can do the Youtube Account if you guys want since I have a VERY GOOD Internet connection(Verizon Fios:D). And I am on here 24/7/365/My whole life from now on. Also I plan on doing the video of the month in the future since I think this is the best promoting/awesomeness for members idea since the podcasts.
