What inspires newbies the most ?

Guyz we all were newbies at some time. At that time, something attracted us badly that forced us to continue our likeness towards Alizée, to be a regualr member in her different forums, to continue the flawless love towards her. So my question is that, what was/is that thing that inspires the newbies the most or help them to keep in touch and continue their fanship for our lili :wub::wub::wub:???

It could her amazing singing, sexy dancing, killing and mind blowing looks. But beside that sure shot factors, one can be her fan by seeing the fact that she has a well established fan base of millions, because there are many persons who like the things which is being liked by all. How much talented a person may be, but if no one follows him/her, then its hard for a newbie to convert themselves into a hardcore one. I know it has some exceptions but from a general point of view, its pretty tough. Secondly, she has performed many of her albums all over world, so in that way she has reached many fans, and the persons who were not much interested at first, too became a huge fan after seeing/visiting all those concerts. Thirdly, she was linked with a huge star Mylène Farmer. Many fans of Mylène liked her new product(not actually, but also) i.e. lili and started following her too. That's why many fans were departed from Alizée after her break-up from Mylène. Fourthly, she is from a very well developed country. Many persons just don't care about the talents from a small country or state. France, as we all know is one of the stylish, romantic, educated, well developed country. So by knowing that fact, many people were attracted towards her. Fifthly, by seeing many active members in the forums. If one is a member of a forum, which is a very non-happening forum, then he/she will eventually loose his interest. So, active and regular members are also responsible for increasing the fan base. There are times when the stars are idle. Then only the activeness of the members are tested.There are many fans who even don't understand what she is singing or saying, but are still crazy fans, this is all due to the above factors.:p:p:p

[NOTE]: These all ideas are from my point of view. There can be many more reasons. It varies from fan to fan. So there are enormous ways of liking/following lili which can only be unfolded by sharing them, here...

In 2006 I was looking at the list of the Google top 100 videos and I saw the screencap of this very cute girl in the JEAM outfit. I think she was #31 or so. Out of curiosity I clicked on it to see what it was. Yes, it was a very cute girl doing a very sexy dance to a very pleasant pop song. Normally at that point I would have moved on to something else. But something about that face was familiar, and I really liked the sound of her voice. It was her voice that compelled me to search for other Alizée videos. It was then that I discovered PTB which I really liked and had seen an excerpt of some years before. At that point I was hooked.

It was her looks that got me to watch the first video, but it was her voice that made me search for more and become a fan, so I voted for her voice.

I voted for her dancing; it's what drew me in. I thought her JEAM dance was really cool, so I looked her up and found this site, where I watched more videos and interviews and discovered that she was just an amazing person all around. :D

Actually everything about Alizée inspired me, still does, but Im still pretty new. I have to go with Alizées amazing voice and soulful singing if I Have to decide. But for me like myself and others have said, everything about her inspired me, everything she does is magic. Sandy says her amazing voice too, but she agrees with me, Alizée is an angel for sure. Every little thing Alizée does is pure magic.

It was first of all her singin which inspired me the most. But eventually, all the mentioned facts came into play, except one or two ;) So it looks like that lili's singing is very important but not only. Without looks and dancing she is incomplete.

I originally found lili via a friends daughter, who came into our Emergency Room for treatment. Long story short, she was talking to me about Alizee and never noticed the tetanus shot she was getting. She let me listen to clips from "L'important C'est D'aimer" and "A Contre Courant".

Couple weeks later, I found myself humming these tunes, found AAm, and the rest is history.

So for me, it was music before looks. :eek:

It is proven that a person judges someone first on how they look...so that's why I had to go with #3.

And also light travels faster than sound, so newbies would see the Sailor Suit before they would hear the opening chords of JEAM:p

Like most, what first caught me was her looks. I was surfing the good ol' YouTube and in the related videos there was one of her "J'en ai marre!" performances. The thumbnail caught my eye with her face, the face of an angel. I just had to go check it out. Then she came out dancing in that sailor suit! But it was when she began singing that I really became interested and entranced. That is was what made her such a killer combo, for me. Amazingly beautiful, can dance, AND she has a beautiful voice! I watched that performance over and over. I finally proceeded to looking up other songs she had after I found out her name. I loved ALL the others too! Then it all just hit me hard. I had to know who she was as I had become a fan so I googled her, learned more about her, watched some interviews, and got to know her the best a fan can. After seeing what kind of a person she is, I just couldn't get enough of this amazing woman. I was inspired not only by her looks and voice but mostly by the amazing person she is. All aspects of her inspire me in different ways though. Her beauty inspires me to make beautiful peices of art and her music and voice can bring me different emotions or inspiration.

So I guess what inspired me most to become the fan I am of Alizée, like most, would be a combination of things. Having to choose just one thing, it would be her voice that hooked me but it would be her personality (from what I, as a fan, know from interviews and such) that drew me in. So my vote went for her amazing and soulful singing as that is what made her the killer combo that I was in "aw" over in my first moments of discovering Alizée for myself.

Most new fans watch the JEAM live performance and most of them are only attracted by the looks so I think that is the main reason why people searches for more and then hopefully realises that there is more to her than her looks. What made me interested was her looks, her voice and the song (JEAM) all combined. Her personality was a huge reason too when I learned more about her.

Well for me it was a debate between her looks or her dancing. So I looked back to when I first saw her on my tiny ipod touch doing her JAM dance. I couldn't really see her face...but she could dance. So I picked dance. Plus Newbies aren't going to get deep into her music until later when they look her up.

I think it's really the total package that attracted me. Her first video I saw was La Isla Bonita, but it was her next video I saw, Moi Lolita in Amsterdam that really blew me away. Her voice, her looks, the way she danced. Such confidence for a girl of 16 to be dancing with in front of this huge crowd. The way she waved to the crowd. The fact that the she was singing in the beautiful French language, I'm sure was a factor. I think the great music composed by Laurent Boutanant had a lot to do with it as well.

For me, it was her looks that made me initially download her pictures and videos. For some reasons though, I had over 10 Gigs of Alizee stuff just collecting dust in my hard drive for months. I really didn't like (even to this day) her JEAM performance in the sailor outfit. :eek: I liked the song, her voice and her looks but, I didn't like the outfit and her dancing by herself. I thought she was just another Britney, Christina, etc. So, it wasn't enough for me to check out her other performances. (I didn't even finish watching that video).

I remember watching a lot of Natalie Imbruglia and Six Pence None the Richer videos before, just like other singers, I eventually got tired of them and looked for someone else. Then, while looking for that someone else, I chanced upon Alizee (again). Since I didn't like the first JEAM that I watched, I decided to look for her live performance and watched JEAM in En Concert. And that's when my life has changed (If I may borrow Merci Alizee's title)! This time though, I liked the dance but preferred the recorded song over the live one. It took me some time to changed my mind. Now, I prefer her live performances over the recorded ones.

At first, I thought, after a few days or weeks, I would eventually get tired of Alizee as well. But, I was wrong. I still watch her videos and listen to her everyday. I'm actually just starting to like her other songs, so I'm sure I'll be around for a long time. Her looks doesn't matter that much to me anymore. I used to hate women with tattoos and piercings (other than earrings). It used to be a big turn-off for me (I neither have one). But, for some reason, those didn't even diminish my respect for her. Her voice and her personality is what matters to me the most.

I am quite surprised that people are saying its her voice....I thought this was a poll for what attracts the "average-every-day newbie", cause most people are saying how they were attracted to her, not what they think the "average-every-day newbie" would be attracted to her for....Cause there is a big difference between the two....

For example, I was an Alizée newbie then I saw her gorgeous nose and I became a fan. That is evidence that her nose attracts new fans. ;) :D

I thought so too at first but reading other replies made me answer the way I did. That's why I wrote the first sentence in my post, maybe you missed it or maybe it wasn't clear enough (Zeerre can tell you about the latter, don't worry). What I meant was that I think the "average-every-day newbie (http://img180.imageshack.us/i/asdadsa.png/)" is attracted by her looks first. I also think very few of the "average-every-day newbies (http://img838.imageshack.us/i/sda22d.png/)" becomes fans so I'm not surprised that most people here say it's something else than her looks that made them interested INITIALLY.

Exactly. As each element introduced itself it reinforced the image more fully. However, if there was one element that initially caught my eye and caused me to take a second (and third) look, it was her hands. The way she moved them in JEAM was SO relaxed - almost as though they had a mind of their own. That was the initial "there's something special about this girl" thought. Then, the rest of the elements layered in and I started to realize how special she was. :)
