Ever wondered if someone has made a folder on their hardrive that contains the most up-to-date, best quality, and biggest Alizée Video/Picture/Information/Magazine Article/Book/Translation/DVD database ever? Well I know that I have not heard of this. And is making this folder a reality, truly impossible? What if the most senior, knowledgeable, and tech-savvy members of Alizee-Forum.com and AlizeeAmerica.com were to come together and make this folder come to life...

It may take months and months of tedious work....but it is never going to be out of the question....if we put our heads and typing 'n' clicking fingers together, we can make this happen. Is anyone with me?! *crickets chirping*

Cause with the power of DC++ and file-sharing sites, we will be able to accomplish this....oh and I forgot to mention that it should be super organized and everything should be easily accesible:D

naah... We are talking about the "whole" lili collection. I know that many members have a collection around 100-130 gb, but they are not satisfied. Hey, wait a min. , are the unofficials stuffs too included ?

Well, you are already on the DC++ hub, (heck, I'm downloading some stuff from you right now) There are many people on there that have their collections organized in various ways. I've even seen some database files. Maybe you can get some idea there.

I'm just downloading everything from the hub, using the non-duplicate option. I'm seeing how others have their collections organized, and I'm going to start doing that myself. My server is always on, and I hope to become a hub admin someday, to keep the torch alive!

Yah I see you are downloading from me:D I got a lot of stuff from the Lilipad DC++ Hub that hasn't been fixed and is no longer available. But yah I mean the whole shabang, as in everything that exists that relates to Alizee that is on people's hardrives that they are willing to donate for the cause.

Well, we will probably start with videos since that is easiest and go all the way from pre-Gourmandises to present. Then compile pictures from Early childhood to present. Then compile magazine articles from Gourmandises to present. Then compile a discography and a huge event calendar all the way from pre-Gourmandises to present. Then compile a list of books, DVDs, and other media that is about her(which isn't much).

Few requirements for update those database and extend it :

1. Crazy uploaders who can put back missing videos.
2. Subtitles
3. Synchronization of subtitles with best files.
That's what we planned to do.

Huge Event Calendar : No one can beat the work done by Homer and his chronology is amazing.

Thanks so much for finding all that! So do you and TomentP need assisstance? And also we can compile picture folders from many hubs and update it as we find new pictures i guess. Pretty much try to get as many pictures as possible that are available. And yes I believe Karin and DocDTV have a copy of L'unique referential so we can ask them to help I guess. And then we will ask Homer for permission to use his event calendar...

I've renamed a lot of her files, starting with date of broadcasting. It works best for me, I have now approx. 60GB

Dunno about the new hub, but the original hub a few years ago had about 2TB of data in it.Some people had every version of every video that existed! I got most of my stuff from there!

If anyone is interested in doing specifically this one, then please tell me. It would like to have a group of 4-5 people who will collect all the scans, check for existing translations, organize them year wise etc. Anyone who can translate from different languages (French, Spanish, Japanese) can be very helpful

Let's make a list of the people that are volunteering to collect everything.

I will definitely be willing to help out.

As I've mentioned before, I can translate very accurately from Korean, to English. The other way around, which I can't see why we'd need to, won't be as accurate. I also do have a limited ability in Spanish as well, but seeing as how we have many fluent Spanish speakers, I'll act more as a choice of last resort. :p

Oh, that's LCI interview and the list can't be complete. There are many files with better quality videos and thus larger file which I couldn't download because of internet restrictions at university. Then there are some videos which I haven't mentioned like Les Enfoires ones. So can anyone complete it like this? That includes re-uploading files whose links are dead.

I have been busy for the past month, but now I'm back to business!

As MA already mentioned, this is what we have been trying to do (but only for the videos) as a part of the YouTube Video Section project we are running.

The list is nowhere near finished but we have been doing alot of discussing back and forth on how to go about in terms of Index Structure, Resource Locations, Multi-Language Subtitles etc...

The DC++ hub house most of it, but there is so much data and most of it is not sorted properly (my share in particular) so we need a plan to structure everything into some sort of list/index which is easily reachable for everyone.

I'm thinking maybe a Wiki would do the trick?

Anyways, I'm all for this project and you got my 100% dedication ;)

For all anyone cares, I support respecting intellectual property rights as the basis of rewarding the labor and capital which produces the property. From now on, these rights will be subject to grave stress because of how cheap it is to store and transmit information. Legal and ethical regimens are evolving to accommodate this stress, and we are nowhere near a final equilibrium.

The Google Books project offers one perspective on the journey underway. Last I checked, Google claims the right to scan and index all books, even without the consent of their copyright owners, some of whom claim this very act of indexing is unprotected by law, and have in consequence sued Google. Note that Google does not reproduce to the public any but trivial portions of books for which it lacks copyright license, and its ambition is to assist the legitimate sale of all books for which copyrights are asserted.

Because it is possible to create robust and succinct digests of media files, in principle one could create a global registry of owners for them and their variants. YouTube continues to build a registry of this type, however modest and incomplete.

A comprehensive registry would make it possible for media purveyors and consumers to build practical automatic payment schemes which would partially compensate property owners with the voluntary cooperation of honest people. Such schemes include advertising and fee-for-service. Perhaps enough money would flow to substantially help motivate the continuing creation of new material. Surely, iTunes proves that at least for now, large numbers of people will pay for some recorded media, given the moral and practical costs of the pirated alternative. (Media creators should realize that if they do not make it easy for people to pay for its consumption under liberal circumstances, some people who would be happy to pay will instead dishonestly consume pirated copies which can be made absent a system which chaperones all viewers of the material.)

For now, the "YouTube test" is the best low-cost method for investigating the legitimacy of redistributing a media file. I condemn redistribution of files which flunk this test.

And even readers who rationalize ignoring copyrights should realize that they are making it ever harder for artists like Alizée to do business, and even so if she has already sold or otherwise traded away her rights in media files which contain her image, voice or other artifacts. If people are in practice, and feel, free to pirate the material I originate, then the resellers who buy my produce will be paying me that much less for it.

Books are another, older (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statute_of_Anne), form of intellectual property. And the Google Books issue succinctly illustrated my point about contentious evolution within the light of the law, far from any underground activities.
