We are no longer using these links since I send the individual scans of the pages each person needs to translate to them. But I will keep the links up just in case anyone wants them.

Chuck, here is the list of people I have asked to assist with this:

We will start soon once the majority of the "usual translators" respond to the PMs I have sent to them on AAm and AF.

There are 9 ActuAlizee magazines.

I am currently compiling a folder with scans of each and every ActuAlizee magazine.

I have found each one to be about 24 pages, but only about 12 of those are pages with text. I am almost done and will upload them soon.

An example of how we will go about this follows:

Let's say we have 8 translators. And let's assume there are 6 full pages of text in the first ActuAlizee. Each translator takes 3/4 of a page and simply starts translating(and of course we will make sure that no 2 people translate the same part).


Wouldn't be easier to take 1 full page ? Let's try on the first ActuAlizee.

That was simply an example, not what we will actually do.

And so now we have 8 translators and I think it is time for us to start. I will tell each person through a PM which pages they will translate :)

Okay so I've got back on track and assigned 5 pages of translations to do to several people. Once those are done then RMJ is going to put them into ActuAlizee #2 and then it can be released! So the estimated release date is Friday!

Thank you very, very much to all the people involved in this massive project! I can't express my gratitude enough to you guys.
I have downloaded a lot of Alizee stuff over the last couple of years and most remain unorganized which make it difficult for me to find some stuff. But, these magazine translations will definitely go to my easy-to-find favorite Alizee folder!

Concerning issue 4 page 21 (the reader ads) it's kind of amazing to think that correspondance still occured by these means in 2003—mail sent over the course of months. It's also interesting how many people were looking for that inflated plastic "pillow" promo of Gourmandises. Even when I first found out about it, it was considered special and highly desireable. It is pretty cool as a collectible.
(if you are wondering what I'm talking about, I just translated it myself; so...)

Yeah it is amazing how there were not many with internet over there at the time. I remember the majority of the middle class here had internet by 2001-ish.

And yeah there was an add for the pillow in #3 too :D i remember seeing one on ebay some time ago...but it was popped lol :p

Man this is my bad. When I say "I dished out", I didn't mean that #5 is all finished. I meant that I assigned the translations to each person to do. So it should be done within the next week depending on how busy each person is. Sorry for making it a misunderstanding :o

It looks like I'm taking over for Aaronius in collecting and assigning translations.
If you are not someone to whom I have already sent a message in the last couple days and you would like to volunteer to do translations, please send me a private message if you are interested and preferably send me your email address as it is more reliable than going through the forum.
I will probably start assigning again in another couple days as I would like to give people a little more time to respond.
