Yeah, I had just seen this on the DC++ hub and was about to upload it to youtube... but I bet there are a bunch of peeps who haven't seen this. It is a rare live vocal performance. Obviously from the En Concert era... it's cool seeing a sea of Asians going crazy for her. LOL.

If there is a JEAM to go with it, I can't find it on this site or on Youtube so I'm out on this one. Only thing I came up with was that interview the same day, and that was on vdb.

Moi Lolita is one of a couple of her songs where the studio version sounded better than the live version. I believe less than a handful of her performances of Moi Lolita were sung live. Most of them were lip synched to, because she did so much dancing in them. In this one in Korea and the one on Top of the Pops in Italy, she didn't do much dancing around, so she sung live.

I think the performance below, the one in Italy I mentioned, is probably her best live performance of ML.

It does sound like her performance in Korea may have been influenced by a cold or something.

I have seen this before but one thing I've always wondered is does anyone know why the her voice sounds so muffled? I thought it might be because it was a poor quality recording in the first place and then uploading to YT detracted further from the sound quality, but re-watching it now I've realised that the background music is of much better quality than her voice. Just can't think why that would be :confused:

I'll have to say that I like the one you linked better too than most live performances for the same reason, I have nothing against lip syncing really but they don't feel "real" enough. I prefer her dances such as in this one and Ella, Elle l'a where she's moving naturally to the music, then when she adds that it's her singing seems more.. thoughtful of what the fans want to see, if that's the correct word for that context..

I am getting more and more sure she was sick in Japan, as this was the picture I associated with her sickness, and it is named "2003japon7jpgzt5" so it only makes sense. Would prefer if someone filled me in on the blanks though.

It sounds to me like part of the "room" sound has gotten into the recording of her voice. The music was playback so they could just run a direct feed into the recording equipment without using a microphone. The voice was probably pulled off the live mixing console and thus they captured not only her voice, but also the room sound that would have gotten onto the microphone. That would naturally make it sound more muffled.

As to her being sick, I believe she was sick during her visit to Korea. Maybe someone else can verify that.

I'm saying, when I first lurked on these forums I stumbled upon just that picture (although this is a cut version cause I was too lazy to upload it, anyway you get my point) and someone was like:
":wub::wub::wub: When was this taken" and then the reply was "This was when she was in Japan, she was actually sick at the time" (I'm using my own words, but something along those lines).

She was most likely sick for only a few days in Korea and/or Japan, so we won't know exactly when she was sick and therefore won't know if she was sick in which pictures and videos...see what I'm saying?

I prefer great singing, Alizée has talent when it comes to dancing and can move fluently without even thinking of it. (Or so I'm led to believe)

As for her being sick she would sound a bit nasaly,which she does a tad bit
but that could be a million things.To me it just sounds like her live without the karaoke style voice track we are used to usually accompanying her,reminds me of her live En Concert voice just not nearly as fine tuned,recorded,remixed and so on.Anyway it is awesome to have different sounding performances.

I can imagine there are quite a few sub-par to Alizee' her management and fans live videos we will never see due to that what i consider too high standard.It would be kinda funny to see the bloopers.

Audiences over there are different,you see everytime she raises her hand how they react and whatnot right.You will know that is one of her trademarks back then to wave and can tell she isn't used to how they explode with adulation by her simple hand gesture.To me this only enhanced the performance with the giggles and delicious voice inflections.

Naft you mentioned the outfit but vague on your meaning there.Remembering back to when i first seen this video i thought it odd she wasn't in the ML outfit.Guessing one of many reasons why,one if that was a concert and not just one song then that may explain it,perhaps customs lost that suitcase for a day while the Korean dude borrowed it to bring home for his wife to wear that night,could be a million and one reasons...

On 24th Sep, she performed Moi... Lolita, I'm fed up and I'm not twenty there.

Note that the Homer's Chronology (http://www.alizee-forum.com/content.php?38-Aliz-e-ma-Muse-Chronology/view/2) mentions that she performed 4 songs including ACC, but there were only 3 songs and not 4. See the picture above.

According to the schedule she was supposed to meet fans at JW Marriot Hotel, Seoul on the same day (24th Sep). I have no information about whether it happened or not.

The performance was shown live on MBC (Munhwa Broadcasting Corp.) channel.

Then she went to Taiwan on 25th September. It was a 3 day trip (Sep 25 -Sep 27).

She said in a message on TV in Taiwan that she was sick during her Korea trip and that's why she has to go back to France.

It's really unfortunate that she felt bad at that time and Olivier tried to cut line in order to get her going to hotel earlier. But they didn't tell the Customs. And an old man got in rage because they cut in line without permission. The key is that he grabbed her and shout "go back!" I think that when situation got bad. When they got out of the Customs, Lili went to toilet for half an hour and of course annoying paparazzi are waiting for her, just like how they did to all celebrities before. After going out of the toilet, she went to the hotel directly and after one day, she told us the bad news. That's how the whole things going on.

Btw, a version of I'm fed up video was used for promotion in Korea. This video shows a short intro by Alizée before I'm fed up music video.

I still can't say whether her Moi... Lolita performance video sounds like that due to sickness or not. It was told that she got stomach problems after eating something there.
