There were new versions of ML but haven't seen any new version of JEAM

She did a new version of JEAM on Acoutic TV5 Monde back in 2007 which was really good in my eyes. She performed that same version in all her Mexico and Moscow concerts too.

It said it will be RECORDED MAY 31. Not broadcast. If there is any commercials it will be closer to the broadcast date, which is unknown.

Good point, BA. I'm sure we will get a few fan pictures and videos on the day of the performance, then a nice HD broadcast version later on, just as with Gen90.

I loved seeing Lilly, looking good on Gen90, but the version of Moi Lolita was strange, and I couldn't get into it. If she does one of her old songs, I feel she should recreate the look, the sound and the movements exactly, as this is supposed to be a rememberance of the past. As far as I can tell, she's still fit and young enough to pull off a JPVA or JEAM outfit and dance. If she's lip-synching anyway (as she did for Gen90).... why not? Give us a sexy show. This ain't high art, kid.

Medleys usually contain only short versions of each song. So the medley would still only be like 3mins or so

Anyway that could be a sign a medley is a possibility for any of the artists. But I'm gonna say this as nice as I can...Alizee's medley was embarrassing. If she DOES do one, it needs to be WAY BETTER. I would think she'd do a single song, and maybe a duet and/or one other song. That would boost her.

The medley was rough and didn't flow. One song would stop and the other start immediately. No connection or anything. But I don't mean to say it sucked either. Good try.

You see how he goes easily from one song to the other? Even if he had to change some aspects of the song like pitch to make it work, it made a beautiful piece.

You see? I didn't want to make a big deal about it. But that's my point. :D

I CHALLENGE SOMEONE TO MAKE A PERFECT ALIZEE MEDLEY. JUST LIKE THE MJ ONE. IF YOU CAN, THAT WOULD BE BRILLIANT.

Thanks MM! Yeah BA, she most definitely used backtracking which is expected...since...well, thats what every single french singer does for tv programs lol. But yeah they must have made a call over to Polydor in order to use the Original JEAM and JPVA tracks and not variations of it. It's nice she didn't due a weird variation of it :) I LOVE IT :D :D :D

If you guys notice, at 2:15, Alizee waves and looks at the guy taking the video and the people surrounding him. Alizee is so appreciative of people that come out to see her :)

I've gotten the feeling that this year's LE was VERY good for her. I think she has, for the most part, gotten past the poor reputation of UEDS and is beginning to be acknowledged by her peers as being a good performer in general.

In other words, Im think the French performance industry may be beginning to discover what the adult Alizée can offer. :)

I sure hope you are right. I think she deserves more recognition than she's received in the last year or so. And this is so great for us right now. So many of us were expecting a long, dry spell. I'd love to see more of her between album projects.

As I mentioned before, this is exactly how they should have done the Moi...Lolita bit last year. Original songs with original dances. Perfect for a "remembrance" show like this.

As for playing to her strengths.... that's a whole other discussion.

I think there is a mix-up here.
Generation 80 is about music stars of the 80's. Which was not the case of Alizee, as we all know.
But, it's clearly the same set and it's probably the same day ( or days) that they record the shows " Generation 2000" and " Balavoine".
So, you will not see her in this video, despite the fact that she was probably backstage during this show ...;)

Better download this real quick, guys. TF1 has been removing videos from Youtube. Yesterday, I think they started blocking the users from the US from playing their videos as well. I used to watched the Balavoine video everyday on their website. But, since yesterday, I've been getting a message that says "Sorry, this video is not available from your country"

They probably don't want to pay for extra bandwidth. I bet they're getting tons of views from outside France because of Alizee. I know it's ad-supported but since it's all French ads, they probably realized it's useless for those who don't live in France or even in Europe.

Man watching this air was probably the most amazing thing ever! Seeing her sing 2 of her best songs in a medley with awesome choreography made my mind think it was in the best dream any man could have...

Her confidence...her poise...the class she showed...

Her outfit...her amazing backtracked singing lol...the overall aroma of it all...

This has got to be one of the best performances she's had since En Concert in my eyes.

And the best part of it I'd have to say, is when she transitions to JPVA then shifts her shoulders to the beat of the pre-chorus :wub: When the crowd roared at that moment, it reminded me of her Eiffel Tower JPVA performance when she started the 2nd chorus and the crowd roared and she had an ear-to-ear grin with her hair flowing in the wind...

Man I feel like I'm reliving the golden days even though I was never there haha.

But overall this was an AMAZING performance. I'll be watching this forever :D

I guess I never believed a music career should turn off and on based solely on when an album is released. I think it's better to keep the fans' interest and spirits up. And hopefully she will get some old fans back and make some new ones.

All in all, I think this was a great performance for her to do, and I hope there are many more to come. :) I know I sure enjoyed it! :D

At the same time it is a good move for her. She is beginning to get traction as an adult in French entertainment. The more she is seen the better.

She was careful not to replicate the old dance - she clearly showed that she was an adult now, and clearly in control. I thought the 10 adult dancers, and especially the V shape, really showed her to be a confident adult that was clearly in command of the stage.

I think that she has finally realized that Mylene aimed her in a general direction where her talents really let her shine. She tried running away from the "image" Mylene created for her, and ended up also moving away from what was for her a winning formula. She is a performer, not just a singer - she had to remember this. There are better singers out there, but not better performers. It is the complete package that is Alizée's stregnth. I believe she has now realized this.

Windows media player seems to not like .ts files for some reason. I had the same problem. Use VLC, it plays them fine. I got it after windows media wouldn't play las isla bonita.ts

I agree with this. The more appearances she makes inbetween now and an album release the less time she has to fall out of view. Like the hiatus between 2004 and 2007, which really lost a lot of fans and media attention.

Clearly she is in the public domain now, as you can tell from the fact she was voted number 2 in FHM france's 100 sexiest women, above carla bruni etc. Clearly people know of her and who she is, if she keeps making appearances in various forms of media, she will have better publicity for her next album and potentially more fans to start with.

And she also replicated the dances BUT not the more saucy parts of J'en Ai Marre, which we all expected we would not see anyway or any of the turns etc of J'ai Pas Vingt Ans. Replicated them in a way that does not go too close to her earlier Lolita days, which is a great step forward imo.

I have registered on this forum about a year ago when I was really crazy about Alizee, but after that I slowly started to lose interest, I didn't like very much the songs on the new album and gradually I stopped searching news about her or new perfomances...
From time to time I would remember her and I would listen to her songs or rewatch the old videos... Anyway that's how I found her latest video tonight and when I saw that she's performing J'en ai marre and JPVA I was surprised, I'm kind of glad that she decided to sing her old songs, she even did the dances and they seemed a little more sophisticated (at least to me). She also looked younger and really beautiful. I think she lip-synced?

My comments about the file format in part reflect that I am currently researching good archival file formats for work. It's nuts how many file formats exist today. Aslo, many that used to be stable have now been played with too much and have become less trustworthy. Add to this that many formats are only partially supported by various display systems and it ends up being a zoo.
