DL from this site

I have really just recently developed an interest in Alizee and her music. Finding this site, I see that there are quite a number of videos available here as well as other places. I used Unplug, a plugin for firefox, to dl them to my system as *.flv files. They play with a flv player, but I'm unable to convert them to other formats with some of my converters in order to put them on my ipod. I am not a wiz with codexs etc, but muddle along in this regard. Am I having trouble because the videos here are in a format that I can't really use and will have to go to some of your other reccomended links here on the board?

There are websites with links to where you can download dozens of videos from Rapidshare.de. I don't recall the one that I generally used (something like Alizeedb.cz) but someone else can certainly tell you what it was.

I have no problem to convert an flv file to an avi with that free program (called SUPER):

here you should be able to get both a videodownloader (free) and a converter program... (though you'll have to purchase it...) It's the only one i'm familiar with, which can also convert to the ipod format: http://applian.com/flvplayer/index_martijn.php

I have tried a number of these video download and converter programs, including Super. Most of these work fairly well online especially at Youtube. The converters don't work on this site's videos however. I can dl them, but not convert them. They will work with a free flv player however. I went to Rapidshare and it will take forever there, unless you get a premium account.

I have a new question about this sites video content. Is most of this available on Youtube and google video, or are these videos there just small snipets of things?

you can download all of the flash videos on this website from ... http://moi-alizee.us/media

however, i woud download the original videos instead of the flash ones. the flash videos are here to make it easy for new fans to discover alizee without having to download tons of videos and etc ...

you can get original videos from moe's website (http://1alizee.com) from the alizee-forum (http://www.alizee-forum.com/lhtopic,13824,0,0,asc,.html) and various other places.

you can find a lot of what is here on youtube / google video. The videos here are much better quality, and the interviews have english subtitles added. you won't find that on youtube.

I tried to dl from Moes site and I get a invalid/corrupted message when I try to unzip these.... hmmmm....

Winzip can't do it. Since the files are in several parts you need winrar to extract them.

I dl'ed 3-4 of them and got that error on two. I was using the xp extract to upzip them. Perhaps I need to use a different zip program?

WinRar and WinZip works fine with me.Try WinRar as Radio said.

Thanks, I will do that. I have used them in the past, as far back as Windows 3.0, but have gotten used to the onboard zipper that xp has.

What settings, exactly, do you use for converting with SUPER?

I've been using SUPER for all my youtube rips for some time now, but those settings keep erroring out with all the files I have from here. I can do the MP3 rips easily (woot, Il Jouait Du Piano Debout!), but I've been having trouble finding settings that work for video. I've been relegated to using geovid's Flash to Video Encoder Pro, which is not nearly so good :-/

I use avi format, MS-mpeg4-v2 codec (see gif for all details). I don't care using other avi codecs sometimes since I generally convert the avi again in VirtualDub to use a compression such as MS-wmv9.
