Thanks!

Alizée has the most beautiful eye's!

Lorie is a blonde haired girl and I read somewhere that blonde hair actually originated in the mystical land of Atlantis! Well I read everyone had blonde hair there and they were all amazing people. I also read that generations of Atlanteans are still living among us and well I was thinking that maybe Lorie is one of those too. :13:

Well to get to the point.. I was also thinking that Lorie is now friends with Alizée and in my book that's more beautiful than anything... I mean who needs Atlantis! :aha:

My God Alizée sure is Amazing!

( but there is no garantee)

I'm not going to lie, I wasn't wowed by this performance. By no means did I think it was bad, it was very well performed. I just didn't see anything special about it. Plus, she was harder to hear than the other performers.

I mean it was a quick song that she was 25% of. Not to mention the other singers, particularly Jenifer and the other girl that wasn't Lorie who's name I can't remember at the moment, have more powerful voices.

But she sounded and looked good, and that's all we can ask for out of these.

Very frustrating. She has a soft voice. They keep under-amplifying her voice in groups. :)

Personally, while I'll take what I can get, I know she can do better. For example La Academia. She definitely could have done better than what she did (she also should have drop-kicked Javi in the nuts with her heels, but I digress).

True, true. What I'm not fully understanding is she has held her own with other singers before (including Jenifer) but here, not so much. Maybe it was technical problems or maybe it was her. :dontknow:

With all seriousness, she is a great performer. She is a great singer. That is why I joined this forum in the first place. That being said, I think she needs to live up to her potential. Lately I think her live performances were lacking.

There is a quote by someone I cannot recall:

I love America more than any other country in this world; and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually.

If you replace America with Alizée, that is what I believe (I also believe in the same for America).

While it is enjoyable to see new performances by her, I expect her to give it her all each and every time.

Even Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods or Roger Federer had some bad days/nights on their jobs. :p I never expected them to be on top of their games every time. Neither do I expect the same from Alizee.
All I know is this: When they're at their bests, NO ONE, could beat them! :france:

Giving your best effort is not the same as being perfect. You can still try your hardest and fail. I'm not debating that. I do not expect her, or anyone else to be perfect. What I am trying to say is that I expect the best to at least try their best every time they perform. If that isn't good enough, "A" for effort. Personally (emphasis on "personally") I did not see that effort her past few live performances.

Aldighieri

I said performance is "ok" .I did not said "great".I think this is what we can expect from this kind of show who is NOT targeted on Alizee.Nor la Academia show was targeted...she was just an host, very compressed into the show rules...the problem is:we have simply disperatly few performances, in recent times.

p.s. thanks to all people posting link video pics..as usual

I think the reason this performance didn't "wow" anyone is because the song itself really doesn't have any "wow" factor. I'm sure they weren't trying for a grand performance, but I think everyone did good.

Yeah, I agree.

She definitely has a softer voice. I've noticed when she tries to sing more powerfully, she sometimes loses control. It's better for her to sing in her natural voice, and they should turn her up to compensate. Unfortunately, shows that shovel one group after another on stage rarely have time for a proper sound check for everything. Powerful singers who work their voices everyday have less problems with those kind of situations. For everyone else, such situations can be nerve-wracking. And yeah, it is frustrating.

Agree. It's no "Dis-Lui Quoi Que Je t'aime," which is IMO the gold standard for post-2004 covers, but for what it was, which was 2 minutes of "eh" song, it was fine.

Again, "Dis-Lui" is a song where she let the pipes go, and towards the end her voice definitely falls flat a bit, which is a good example of your first point. And your second point could also be part of what happened at La Academia- the "variety show" atmosphere didn't allow for a proper soundcheck, and so she was out-louded by Javi. If you find a low-quality recording from live on set, rather than the televised one, she sounds much better as well.

I think Alizée, on her worst day, is better than all the others on their best day. Don't get me wrong, I still think that the other singers out there are extremely well at what they do and I love them too. But if I were given a choice to go to an Alizée concert to watch her worst performance or see someone else perform their best, I would choose Alizée.

Damn right! :D I don't care even if it's 3 to 1. I meant all three (that I previously mentioned) in a concert against Alizee - I would still go to Alizee's concert and it wouldn't even take me a second to decide about it. :thumb:

I know! huh! ... I would sit in the back row if I have to at an Alizée concert versus V.I.P. to anyone else....

Although my tickets would be back row, I would find my way to the front of the Alizée concert, of course! :p

Wow I love this! I think she sounded brilliant and her soft voice was a lot nicer to listen to compared to the more powerful and slightly samey voices of the other 3. She has an unconventional and rare sound that I love. ALSO how stunning does she look?! I mean, more so than usual!!!! I absolutely ADORE this image she has. There's a lot of "old Alizée" in it, at least more than there was in the UEDS image but equally as much of the "mature" side.

Anyway, with performances like this with such a high viewer count and the way she's tweeting non-stop, talking to her fans, posting daily photos and generally being a lot more open and inviting than usual, she's definitely going in the right way in the run-up to her next album. GOD AM I EXCITED!!!!!

She's never fallen off the grid and she never will... we have to remember that even though she has the looks and the voice of a goddess, she is still human you know... I know, it's easy to forget she is human... but she is!.... and she has a life of her own too! Just like we do... so she is going to have times where she has "me time" or Alizée time... I'm so glad that she has been given more "fan time" lately though! I have been sitting back in awe ... soaking it all in! :D

So I decided to watch (listen to rather, dang copyrights) this again when I was in a better mood; that couple of weeks when this came out, everything was pissing me off. Work was getting stressful because of the holidays, and let's just say I wasn't the most cheerful person to be around. But I digress.

It was not bad as my "initial review" says. Not my favorite performance but it was still good. However, I still think she was too quiet, whether it be her voice or the mic. Like I said, I was overly critical/cynical earlier and probably should have refrained from posting that at the time.
