Right now things with my airline job are kind of up in the air (pun intended), but at the end of the month I'm hoping to go Les Enfoires show in Lyon, provided I can get tickets. After that, I'm hoping to go to Corsica and I was looking for suggestions on where I should go.
I'll definitely drive out to the Blood islands or maybe walk (10 miles???????). It would be nice to get some pictures of Alizee's stomping grounds, but I don't want to do it in a way that would be intrusive. I'm sure there are people in these forums who know where her home was where she grew up in, but I have no intention of trying to find that out. She likes her privacy and I will respect that.
As far as the school, I think I'd like to get some pictures of the outside, but after ueds came out and after the autograph session, Doc proposed a scholarship to the school as a way of thanking her. That idea fell apart but at one point I had proposed delivering it myself and maybe filming the school while I was there. Some people thought it wouldn't look right for a man, especially an older man like me taking pictures in a school full of young girls. I think they had a point so I think just a few picures of the outside will suffice, after all we already have videos on the internet of the inside.
There's one place I would like to find out it's location. That was the restaurant or cafe that Alizee was at with a group of her freinds after she returned from Paris where she had recently recorded Moi Lolita. They had no idea she had recorded a song and then Moi Lolita came on the radio. Alizee at first denied it was her, but it was too obvious and it must have been such a great moment for her.
It would have been so great to see the expressions on her face. The surprise when she heard her song, the look on her face while she tried to keep the cat in the bag, and then that enourmous smile that must have went across her face when that cat was finally let out of the bag. Getting pictures of this place is kind of like going to the Triage Lavoire building where ACC was filmed. It can't compare to the actual moment, but it is better than nothing.
So I'd like some ideas on where I should go and what do you think would or would not be intrusive?
Meanwhile, I'll have to hope nothing changes with my job until after I get back.

According to Google Earth the school is on the Av. du Président Kennedy. It's up the hill a short ways from the waterfront. It actually doesn't look like much from the outside. It must not be too big, but maybe that insures more one-on-one instruction.

Good luck in your upcoming trip! I wish I could go back there as well. As for suggestions: "How about the pizza store that she posted in Twitter?" I think that'll be nice.
I started to put some information together when I was thinking about visiting Corsica earlier in the year. Then I bought a money pit (House).

May I suggest that you spend some time exploring the island and the town of Ajaccio itself? It's absolutely gorgeous and has some fascinating history to it. Remember that there was another famous person born there who rose to great prominence in the early 19th century. ;)
You should look for the Italian influences on the culture, and listen for the sound of Corsu, the native language, which if I'm not mistaken is still spoken there by some although it's largely replaced with French by now. Check out the incredible beaches, the picturesque harbor, maybe try to get into the interior of the island and visit some of the villages. Try out the local sausages, cheeses, and red wine, and explore the seafood.
I had a fascination with Corsica long before discovering Alizée and plan to make an extended trip there myself hopefully next year, but anyway as soon as I can. I have a way to support myself there, if I can get my business up to speed, so that's Step 1. I may even retire there.
It was a Greek colony in ancient times, then Carthage had a settlement, then it was taken over by Rome after the first Punic War, and was part of the Roman Empire for centuries. It has one of the strangest native occult traditions I've ever heard of, people who predict other people's deaths in dreams.
I think if you go there just looking for Alizée-related things you're likely to miss out on much of what it has to offer.
I have to agree with Deepwaters on spending your time taking in what Ajaccio and the area around it has to offer. Like I have said before Alizée directed my interest to her home town and the Island of Corsica. It was her father Joe's photography of the Island that really peaked my interest in wanting to spend a few weeks on Corsica exploring Alizée's personal hideaway.

Well the garden bench Alizée and her brother were sitting on in this interview was the first place I found when I went to Ajaccio back in June 2005.
It's the Old Town and not too hard find.

Thanks for all the advice. I'm wondering if the name of that pizza place was included when Alizee made that tweet that someone mentioned. Might be a good place to have lunch one day.
Of course I'm very interested in the Napoleonic history of this area. I went to Waterloo on one of my trips.
There's also a chateau that was built about 6 miles north of Ajaccio out of the remnants of the Royal palace in Paris that was burned down by the Paris commune back in 1871 I believe it was. I made a post about it some time ago in here. Here's part of it.
http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/5041/parisjarden.jpg (http://img829.imageshack.us/i/parisjarden.jpg/)
I was reading about the Tuileries Garden. The Champs_Elysees runs from the Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde, a large open square famous for among other things, the numerous people who were beheaded there during the reign of terror. Beyond the Place de la Concorde and before the Louvre museum is the Jardin des Tuileries, a large public garden. It used to be the site of a large royal palace (Tuileries Palace) which was built around 1559 by the widow of Henry II ( she didn't build it by herself, I'm sure she had help). It actually joined the Louvre. It got it's name from tile kilns which previously occupied the site. Louis XIV, XV and XVI resided here as well did Napoleon (at different times of course). Louis XVI was guillotened at the near by Place de la Concorde.
http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/1044/tuileriespalace.th.jpg (http://img12.imageshack.us/i/tuileriespalace.jpg/)
http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/1705/chateaudelapunta.th.jpg (http://img689.imageshack.us/i/chateaudelapunta.jpg/)
http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/4455/parispicture.th.jpg (http://img705.imageshack.us/i/parispicture.jpg/)
It's been attacked a few times, mostly by Parisians, during the French Revolution of course but lastly during the suppression of the Paris Commune in 1871. This was a commune that was formed after France's disastorous loss in the Franco Prussian war. It was set on fire then and allowed to burn for 48 hours without any attempt to stop it. Luckily most of the Louvre miraculously survived. In 1882, the National assembly voted to have it torn down. Stone and marble from it was used among other things to build a castle in Corsica near Ajaccio called Chateau de la Punta. It's about 10 kilometers north of Ajaccio, outside a town called Alata.

I believe it is called Pizza Capri, but it is in Aix-en-Provence on the southern tip of France. Not in Corsica.
@mellealizee est ce que ce sont des pizza capri ? Les meilleures pizza d'aix et du monde !
Rough Translation:
Is what they are capri pizza? The best pizza in Aix and the world!
To which Alizée replied, "Yes!"

Have a fun and safe trip Scruffy .... cant wait to see some pics of that beautiful Mediterranean paradise!
From one future pilot to another can you do me a favor? If you fly on either a Boeing 747 or an Airbus A380 could you take some pics of the interior for me? I see them all the time when I land in JFK or Newark but I never got to see the inside. Cheers bro!~
Hopefully everything with your job gets sorted out.
That's awesome Scruffy! You take some of the most amazing trips and vacations I've ever heard of! :D
Btw if I were you I'd also try to go to that pier/dock place where she was walking around in Un-rêve's video link, around 3:07 to 3:24
Just out of the hospital...again for arm surgery, and saw this post and the accompanying posts.
Have a terrific time, Dave, and enjoy it thoroughly. Remember that many of us live vicariously through your trips and those of others here who are fortunate enough to be able to travel to Europe as often as you are able to do. Please post pictures of Alizeeland for us less fortunate ones. ;)
Also to everyone on the forum, to Alizee, her family, and friends, may we all have a healthy, happy, and successful 2012, with all the good things that come with it.

Have a great time Scruffy.. there's nothing quite like Alizée's home town!
Well this thread has got me all nostalgic so I thought I'd post some more photo's that I took from L'Île de Beauté.
I hope these give you some idea of places to visit although you will most likely just stumble across the ones from Ajaccio. ;)
I couldn't scan these, so I've took them with my digital camera in order to post.
Here's the main fountain at Place Foch.
http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/2190/placefoch.jpg
There's an open bus tour that runs from Place Foch ( it's kinda like a train with carriages.. hard to describe ) that goes to the Iles Sanguinaires and it's worth taking even if you're renting out a car because you get to see some hot spots on the way.. time is limited when you get to the Iles Sanguinares though.
Well you can always check out the islands again later on anyway and maybe even climb this peak as I did here.
http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/8899/ilessangunaires.jpg
I don't advise going up there though unless you're good with heights.. I realized that I wasn't when I got to the top. :p
http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/4039/ilessanguinaires.jpg
Here's the Napolean monument that we were introduced to on the bus tour. I just hope the tour still runs, because I went in the summer.
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/7417/napoleanmonument.jpg
BTW those photo's I posted previously were actually from the Maison Bonaparte Museum. ;) Well anyway as I was using my digital camera I thought I'd take another shot of the bench.. I think this one highlights it better.

OK maybe you will want to check this place out aswell. Here's a screen cap from the Reportage on Sept a Huit - TF1 ( 2007-11-25 )
This is the Jetée de la Citadelle and you can get to this spot by going up some steps behind the Tino Rossi Harbour. There's a nice view up there and I made a point of going up there almost everyday.. there's also a good spot to take some time out and reflect up there.. it's quite peaceful.
http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/9013/jetedelacitadelle.jpg
That rooftop behind Alizée is actually the same one that she was photographed at back in the day in the Tele Jours magazine aswell.
Well I made a point of photographing it too after jumping over the wall.
http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/385/alizerooftop.jpg
Here's a link to that article that might be of interest.
http://www.alizee-forum.com/content.php?694-T-l-7-Jours-2003-08
Here's a shot from the Charles Ornano Harbour Ajaccio.
http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/8030/telejoursjete.jpg
Well there's also a short boat trip that goes to Porticcio from the Tino Rossi Harbour worth taking and offcourse plenty of other places worth checking out on the island.
Here's some photo's I took from Bonifacio.
The white cliffs.
http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/2279/bonifacios.jpg
The lagoon we visited on our boat excursion.
http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/1364/bonifaciolagoon.jpg
The cavern.
http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/9727/bonifaciocavern.jpg
We visited Porto Vecchio for the day aswell and the Palombaggia beach was beautiful just as it was described. The beaches on the way to the Iles Sanguinaires are just as beautiful though imho.
http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/9640/plagedepalombaggia.jpg
Well I hope this gives you some idea of places to go.. I know Ben also visited Corsica some time ago and took the boat trip to Scandola.. maybe you will check that out aswell!
Bon Voyage!
Btw we stayed at the San Carlu Hotel and I highly recommend it.. it's a great location and not too expensive. The manageress was nice and there was a nice girl there who spoke pretty good English too. :2_thumbs:

Me and MerciAlizee have been working behind the scenes to set up a visit to the Ecole de dance in Ajaccio where Alizee learned to dance. I put together a letter to the owner of the school, Madam Muffragi, Chuck translated it and MA sent it.
Well we heard back from her that she had apparently forwarded th letter to Alizee. That's something we didn't anticipate and didn't want for reasons I wont go into now. Monique's English isn't that great so as we left it, she was told I'd be arriving in Ajaccio on the 4th which is today. Seeings how that was a saturday, I figured it be real busy and I didn't want to take pictures that would invade on their students (mostly very young girls as it turns out) privacy.
So once I arrived, I printed up another note and used Google translate to tell her " I know that this must be a busy day for you, so may I come back on monday at 2:00 pm?" I had checked the schedule and they open on 2:15 that day.
Well I went to the school around 3 pm, nervous as a wet hen, but there was no reason to be. You could not have asked for a more pleasant woman. Didn't speak a whole lot of English, but with the help of my letter, I was able to get my message across. She said monday at 10:30 would be good. She then brought out a mop and bucket from the bathroom, indicating apparently that was her cleaning day. I said great and I even offered to help her clean. I hope she takes me up on that. More on that later.
I had bought her a gift while I was in Istanbul; a cashmere scarf and not the cheap kind and I said it was from AAm. She didn't open the gift before I left. Hopefully she'll like it. It would come in handy today. Snow has been following me everywhere I go. The hotel clerk said the last time it snowed here was 1987.
So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well monday.

I stopped at the Le Forum restaurant last night and it looks like they are probably closed for the season. They had newspapers covering the glass sections of the doors.
Someone, maybe RMJ mentioned they thought it was owned by a cousin of Alizee or maybe they worked there. Anyways I had hoped to go in wearing my AAm shirt, hoping it might invoke a conversation but that was not to be.
Today, I'm doing a little catch up, especially after the busy Lyon schedule. As luck would have it there's a small laundromat right next to the hotel. After washing my clothes, I'll check out some nearby spots; hopefully the tourist office too, for some ideas.
The rest of the day will probably devoted to planning the rest of the trip here. I asked a few places here if they might be showing the Superbowl tonight and they said no. Last night it seemed like they rolled up the sidewalks around 8pm, so Sunday must be even earlier. I'll just have to watch it in my room. I'll have a couple of Corsican beers during the game, but not too many, even if the Pats win, I want to have a clear head when I meet with Madam Mufraggi.

I was reading some comments at a travel site a while back, and some people who had stayed in Ajaccio said it was rather boring and said they wouldn't go back there again. :) I suppose they were referring to the nightlife. I guess if one of your travel goals is partying, that could be a problem. But I would be interested in the history and the rugged beauty of the island. If I want to party, I can do that at home. :D
I'm hoping you'll give us a full report when you get back. Good luck on your meeting with MM tomorrow !!!

They rolled up the sidewalks tonight at about 5:30; even the restaurants. I was hoping to find som place to watch the superbowl like a sports bar, but that wasn't in the works. I didn't find out until game time if I was even going to be able to watch it in my room. But it is on here. I just have to listen to the play by play in French. Well as it turns out, I already have 2 reasons to smile during the game.

As big a fan as I am, it would have meant more to me if I hadn't botched that video of Alizee.

Because Alizée in real life isn't 1080p. She's actual size. (http://alizeeamerica.com/forums/showpost.php?p=218619&postcount=3369) ;D

Well I went to the Ecole de danse today and Madam Mufraggi had a complete change of attitude. Saturday she was willing to show me all around and I don't think she would have minded me taking pictures either, but there were a bunch of young students there, so I said I thought it would be better to come back on Tuesday. As I mentioned she suggested today at 10:30, her cleaning day, so we agreed on that.
Well like I said when I showed up she had a completely different attitude. She said she had talked to some freinds about it and apparently they had given her some type of poison pill attitude towards us.
She mentioned that they said if I even took just one picture, it would be all over face book and Youtube. Is that really a problem? There woudl be no students involved. It might give her some good publicity. She also mentioned if that happened, that all kinds of visitors would be showing up. Now that very well might have been the case back in 2003, but not today. In fact, I've talked to a few local people here about whether Alizee is still a big celebrity here or not. They all said no. Years ago she was, but not any more.
One guy mentioned that she was now big in SouthAmerica, which I guess he mistook for Mexico. Another woman said she is big in Japan right now. They obviously have no idea what she is doing. There would be no stampede of visitors to her door.
She also mentioned how our cultures are different. She said a lot of celebrities in France take vacation in northern Corsica and it's the French way that people don't bother these stars in their private time and what I proposed to do would be invading her, Alizee's and their student's privacy. That I could understand.
Well from the outset a few weeks ago, we had mentioned to her that we didn't want to do anything that didn't meet the approval of her, Alizee,or her students or anyone else connected with this.
But I think what happened is she didn't take this seriously. Didn't think it would really come about. Then after I showed up on her door step, she finally realized we were serious so after I left, she talked to some freinds and didn't like what she heard.
I think we tried to go about it in the best way possible. We politely asked by e-mail. If she had a problem, all she had to do was say no.
So I politely as I could explained to her that we tried communicating by e mail with her to specificaly find out if there would be any kind of problem. But I told her I understood how she "now" feels and thanked her for her time.
So what else can go wrong for me on this trip?
EDIT:
By the way, at Les Enfoires, Alizee looked stunningly beautiful up close. That was a beautiful outfit for her when she was in the stands. 1080i couldn't do her justice.

Let's think of an US dance school in which , I don't know, Beyoncé learn to dance. The first thing you will found in the hall would be a photo of her.
Now, the Alizee corsican dance school.
No mention of her on the website. No mention of her at the place. And an iron will of things staying this way.

That's dissapointing news Scruffy.. best just enjoy the rest of your time in Lilly Town then and check out some of those places such as the Iles Sanguinaires, snow or no snow.
Btw did you atleast get to check out the dance school without taking any photo's?
Like you said after talking to some people her attitude changed?
And what happened this summer when Alizée put her support behind a certain small boy? Yep a couple of whiny and JEALOUS women started all kinds of trouble for the charity and the family.
It's sad that a few can ruin it for everyone around them.
I understand her change, you're only there for a few days she has to live and deal with these difficult people everyday. Her mistake was telling her friends and family that a fan of Alizée was coming to visit her studio.

I am so sorry you had to go through that Scruff. Her mind got poisoned against you via rumors from her friends and being stereotyped as someone that wants to get into her private life. You did everything right so don't feel bad. It is sad she told her friends...why oh why did she have to tell them! Oh well, at least now we know that anyone associated with Alizée hate people that "try to get into their private life" so we can stray away from them. And it would have been such a treat for you :'( Sorry it turned out like that, enjoy the rest of your trip.

Well Scruffy, it's unfortunate that MM's friends were able to cause such a change in attitude towards you. We all know you had good intentions. I think you were stereotyped by a rather uninformed group of friends.
Knowing MM's current attitude, it might be better if we talk as little as possible (from now on) about her or her school in this public forum. I'm sure she's a wonderful person, so let's just keep it at that and respect her wishes. It just goes to show how an attempted donation to her school way back when could have gone horribly wrong. I'm glad it didn't happen. And it makes me think again about the JB donation. It seems AAm should probably not attempt to have further dealings with any people in Corse, especially in regards to anything associated with Alizée. I hope Alizée isn't upset by this when she hears about it. But Scruffy, I don't think you did anything wrong, so try not to feel bad about this. As Bigdan said, different cultures.
After hearing this, I guess my advice would be to also avoid a certain restaurant, if you get my meaning. I am sorry for becoming cynical about these people, but cynical begets cynical I guess. :(

They do mention her on the website:
ALIZEE, FORMER DANCER OF THE SCHOOL
's Dance School Monique Mufraggi is very proud to call her former pupil and French singer Alizee Jacotey as proof of the success of the school. Alizée has danced for nearly 10 years in my school and a singer and dancer were very early, to the delight of the audience of Ajaccio.
http://ecole-du-spectacle.com/
As it was said, it's best to just move on and forget about that. Nothing more you can do, so there's no point in wasting the rest of your trip sulking.
Actually, I was surprised that she initially said yes. If I were in her shoes I would not have. (Note: This is why I spoke out against donating money to the school back when we were having those discussions. Leave the school alone. Don't turn it into some type of shrine. It is a precious part of her youth.)
Not speaking about Scruffy's intentions but rather speaking to MM's integrity, I applaud her decision. She could very easily have played up the School's association with Alizée (by this I mean much more than a simple web page note). She could have announced it from the rafters: "Come to my school and you may end up like Alizée." Of course, if she did this, Alizée would probably not feel comfortable going back there to practice before LE. It would feel... weird.
MM knows her place in society and, as a woman of integrity, should be respected for her decision. Her only error was in not thinking it through beforehand when Scruffy gave her the opportunity through his email contact.
Scruffy also acted fully in integrity. He attempted to determine in advance if there would be an issue and, believing there would be none, he showed total respect throughout the unfolding incident. He should be proud of how he conducted himself.
With regards to the JB issue, that it very different. Alizée actually did reach out on their behalf and so it was OK for us to respond. It was simply unfortunate that a couple of relatively STUPID people, with whatever ego-driven delusions they happened to have, ruined for Alizée what was a very sweet and generous gesture on her part.
Stupid people are everywhere, so please do not start showing bigotry by pointing at any one location on a map and saying they only exist there.
Corsica is a beautiful island, with many wonderful people. Let us chalk these experiences down to life and our simply not sufficiently understanding their culture. :)

Well you say an iron will. Apparently that iron will didn't develop until she had conferred with others at the last moment. Like I mentioned before, Me and MA had consulted with her a few weeks ago, clearly asking her if we could take pictures at a time when no one else was there and mentioning the fact that we only wanted to do so if "everyone" involved with it was okay with it, including MM, Alizee, the other students and anyone else who might be involved. If she had expressed that will back then, it would have saved me some time and effort.
I understand why she did what she did and I don't have any hard feelings about it, but I wish she had just told me earlier.
Edit:
Well I went out to the Blood island area today. Beautiful place. I had thought about staying until sundown, but clouds rolled in, so there was no point. I got to see several Lili related places. I'll post a few pictures when I get a chance.

Well even if she comes here, my odds of even getting a glimpse of her are probably as good as if I was back in Boston. Plus there is I believe some type of airline strike going on in France, so she might not be able to make it down anywho. Then again she could come by train/ferry like I did. I'm a little confused by that Aaron. If she's still in Lyon, she's about 350 miles away. If she's back in Paris, she's about 550 miles away. I'm sure she's not in Ajaccio, but if she was, she'd probably be within 10 miles!
It's too bad someone turned Madam Mufraggi against us. If things had gone well with her, I had thought about leaving a preaddressed box with her with the cds in it, hoping maybe Alizee could sign them when she dropped by,then MM could just pop them in the mail. Guess that's not gonna happen.

I know that I don't post much, but I have a lot of experience dealing with French singers. There is a thing about trying too hard to meet someone. If I did what you guys did by going to private locations where there family's work, eat and live, the French singers I know, would never talk to me again. But if you push and push and push, it just makes you look like a stalker. When they see you, they will think, oh that's that guys who keeps following me everywhere.
I just want you not to be hurt by things like this and I also want them to feel comfortable being in there private locations with family not worrying who is following them or could be outside there door waiting for an autograph. How many more autographs do you really need, before you dont need anymore ?
Trust me...they know your outside the events waiting for an autograph and photo and if they dont want to sign or take pictures then, what makes you think they will want to do it in there private time ?
Just my 2 cents...
Just give her a break...

I think the thing to do is "if" I see her walking along and she looks rushed or busy, I will just try and say " Bonjour Alizee.". I will be wearing my AAm hat and shirt and if she happens to notice and might want to say something more, then so be it. Otherwise that will be it.
If she looks like she's taking her time strolling around, then I will add the line, after looking up the proper translation, "You were magnifique in Les Enfoires!", and that will be it, if again, she doesn't look interested in having any type of conversation or looks like she might be bothered, I will walk on by.
I never expected her to be here at this time. I thought after being in Les Enfoires, she'd want to go back to Paris for a while. The main reason I chose to come here is because I had 3 weeks vacation and Les Enfoires was the main part of my trip. Going south from there at this time of year was a natural choice. I'd been to places to the southeast and southwest of Lyon ( Barcelona, Lisbon, Nice, MonteCarlo, Milan, Venice, so Corsica was kind of one of the few distinct areas I hadn't been to. You add the fact that Alizee is from here and it was an easy choice.
There's also the fact that some of you know there are things going on with my job that makes my future with them along with my travel benefits uncertain. So I figured if I ever was going to go here, something I didn't have much interest in the past in, then I'd better do it on this trip.
So I hope if we do meet, she doesn't think I'm stalking her. I know there are people in here and AF who know where she lived here and where she lives in Paris, but I never sought that info on any of my trips.
I think it's only natural for fans to want to see places she's performed, places connected with her history and that's what this part of the trip was. There's a line between being a fan and being a stalker and I don't think what I'm doing crosses it. I just hope if we bump into one another, she sees things the same way.
Edit:
I think I had mentioned that I had planned on going to Livorno, Italy for 2 days starting today, then to Genoa, Italy for 2, then spending my last night in Paris, before flying back.
I cancelled my two days in Livorno to stay here. That's not much of a problem because I would probably have to alter my plans due to the airline job actions in France. But I don't see any point in staying here beyond that. It's kind of a pipe dream to think I might bump into her and even if I do, probably the most I could really hope for is a bonjour in passing.
So as it is, it means I will be spending these 2 days in an area I've already been through a few times, but today, that's not much of a problem, because it so far is the most beautiful day of the trip. Mostly sunny. A great day for walking around.
Problem is I probably stick out like a sore thumb here, even without my AAm shirt. I walk around a circuit that encompasses Point Foch, where they have people selling goods in a square, then down to the waterfront. The first part is where the big ships come in, then there is a marina right next to it with a bunch of small boats, including the "Lili".
Then it's up to the Citadel, a fort on the point. Then the other side of that there is the beach part of the waterfront. After that there is Place de Gaulle; a large open square. Last there is a lot of trendy shops, which I'm sure she'd probably find to her liking.
So what I did so far make a loop, then stop in one area at a cafe and had a cup of coffee and a waffle with nutella and read my book for a while. I then made another loop and then sat down in Place Degaulle and did some more reading. But I'm sure there are people who notice this gringo.
Now it's around 1:30 and a lot of shops close from 12 to 2, so I'm taking a break, then I'll go back out for lunch , then repeat the process. It's fine today because like I say, it's a beautiful day. Tomorrow it probably get a little old, so it's the last day I will do it. That 's if I they don't throw me in the Bastille before then. Then it's on to Italy.

Well there were no sightings on the Alizee front today. Ajaccio is a very nice place, but I'm about to start climbing the walls right now. What makes it tougher is it's harder to find people you can effectively communicate with. You add that to the fact that it's a slow time of year, it leads to some long nights. So one more day in the pursuit of the elusive Alizee, then I'll have to pack it in.

Does that mean she's back in the dance studio? If so, why at 7pm or was she just saying on a rough basis, timewise, it's time to hit the studio again? Or is it in reference to another web site or some song or something.
If she's back in the studio here, I'm probably not going to bump into her. Now I dont mind walking around this beautiful town, doing some more sightseeing with the chance that I might bump into her, but I'm not gonna hang out, outside a dance studio. That doesn't seem quite right to me.

It's my last night in Ajaccio. I had hoped to leave early tomorrow, but when I extended my stay, I didn't realize that would bring me into the thinner weekend travel schedule, which means I have to wait for the 8pm ferry tomorrow night. So I'll do some more sightseeing. I would think odds are better for an Alizee spotting on the weekend, thinking she'll be taking time off from the dance studio.
This afternoon I tweeted her basicly saying "I'm in Ajaccio on vacation. I bought about 14 cds for our newer members. Could you autograph them?". Hey it's worth a shot. I think she thinks I'm a fruitcake already so it shouldn't make much difference. It probably had better odds of working than me roaming the streets here.
When I get back, I'll put together a short video of my visit.

I reccomend you go when she's not there. I never thought she would be in Ajaccio. Last year after Les Enfoires, she took the train back to Paris. You add the fact that she had just been to Corsica and I thought it very unlikely she'd go while I was there.
I've been to Paris a few times and never had the inclination to hang around some place watching for her, but Ajaccio is a much smaller place and most of the places we've seen her in videos and in pictures is in a very small area so you feel there is a good chance of seeing her and it's hard to wander off to other spots knowing that.
I took the ferry last night to Nice, then the train this morning to Milan and guess where one of the train stops was? MonteCarlo!

I'm not saying I'll go out of my way to avoid her, just that I won't be looking for her. I'll go for Corsica, which has called to me for many years, since long before I knew who she was. If we meet, we do. If we don't, we don't. And either way, the sojourn is something I have to do.

Anytime I was in Paris and I was fairly certain she was there, It never bothered me because Paris is so huge, you could both be there a 1,000 days in a row and odds are still very remote that you'd ever bump into each other.
But the part of Ajaccio she seems to like to frequent is so small, it's very depressing to leave that area thinking, she might come around that corner the minute you leave.
If it was any other celebrity in the world, it wouldn't matter. But this is Alizee. The woman who has changed my life as well I'm certain the lives of several others in here.

This is unrelated to this thread I guess, but I didn't know where else to put it.
I took this picture of name of what looked to be a kids clothing store while I was walking around in Milan. Who can see the Alizee connection?

I wanted to see if they did in fact name it after Moi...Lolita, so after a little digging, I found out that that chain was founded in 1986. Which means it wasn't named after Moi...Lolita... :(

When I was in Paris a few years back there was one of these stores near the Jardin du Luxembourg... noticed it for the same reason as you. :p If I remember I think it was a clothing store for toddlers.

When I get back, I'll put together a short video of my visit.
Where can I see the video? :)

Actually I sent my video and picture files to Lefty who put together this video with a song written and sung by him and he did a great job.
I wonder if anyone ever tweeted it to her?
