Anyone here listen to Deftones? Seems like Chino's voice can go along with anything. Literally. Get Abe to throw a sick beat on drums, have a good mellow riff going... Alizee with a chill calm voice, and chino whispering in the backgrond with faint screams.

I love Deftones! Their covers are always unbelievably amazing. Their cover of "Simple Man" always makes me cry like a baby every time it comes on my playlist, that's why I have to change the song when it comes on and I happen to be in public. Omg and their cover of "please, please, please let me get what I want" just kicks ass.

I think Deftones rely more on the atmosphere that their music creates and on cryptic yet interesting lyrics. I've never thought about a Deftones/Alizée song though. That's interesting but I have no idea how that would work or what it would sound like. Alizée can definitely give us a Deftones-type feel if she wants to though, as is evident with her last album.

If you only knew how many times I've had to listen to certain Deftones songs in order to get over a girl...:o

"I haaaaate your tattoos....you have weak wrists...but I'll keep you. 'Cause there's something about herrrrr...."

Yeah, Deftons is my favorite band. Every album sounds diferrent. They can pull off metal, funk, hip-hop. Just about anything. I love their cover of Wax and Wayne :D. Cryptic is what I always decribe their Around the Fur album. Yeah, but I was just fantasizing for a moment. It'll never happen, just in my wishful mind.

All you need is a rapper and you'd have a great Linkin Park cover.

Linkin Park? I'm sorry, I thought we were talking about music.

Ah, clown didn't get my joke about low quality nu metal. Drawbacks of having a low IQ.

This is not an Alizée thread. It is a Deftones thread, and therefore belongs off-topic. :)

a lot of words in the english language are used out of context ... it makes our language more weird I guess. When I was growing up kool was actually spelled "cool" the way it was originally spelled; it wasn't until the later 2000s that it started be spelled with a "k"

I'm gonna have to disagree with that. Spelling "cool" with a K didn't start anywhere near the late 2000s. If anything, I think it has died down a lot. I know I used it a lot in the late 90s. :o

I can think of a few examples of "kool"—some arguably less relevant than others—I think we can at least agree that the modern usage of "kool" dates back to the 60s if not earlier.

Kool-Aid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kool-Aid) - 1927

Kool cigarettes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kool_(cigarette)) - 1933

Kool and the Gang (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kool_%26_the_Gang) - 1964

Kool Moe Dee (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kool_Moe_Dee) - 1976

Kool FM pirate radio station (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kool_FM) - 1991

Cute. It was a joke though. Linkin Park sucks and that idea sounds like a terrible Linkin Park song. Apparently you're the one who didn't get the joke.
