View Full Version : Damn I getting really lucky at finding Alizée's haunts
The Hotel A Cause de l'Automne was shot at, was the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Ajaccio Bay. Yes you to can stay at the same hotel the video was shot at.
So me and Lucy (house cat) are watching the Steeler - Raiders game and I'm playing with Priceline checking out hotel prices around Ajaccio when I hit this picture of a hotel room at the Radisson. :omg: It was the same room layout including the furniture and lamps in the video. :D Also the view off the balcony is very very close to what we saw in the video.

The video was probably shot in one of the the top floor rooms.

It's located about five miles south of the Airport on the D55 across the bay from Ajaccio

You do know I have a real job? It takes some time to go through all that information. When you have to babysit several drama queens (Women) every day it does take up a whole lot of my time.
If I spent a week or two in Ajaccio it would be a breeze to find all those locations. Like I said I was perusing hotels for a possible vacation and happened to get lucky with that hit on the Radisson.

I spent about an hour trying to figure out where the little village shown in the 'clip' was with no success. But I haven't given up!

It's located on Palombaggia beach.

How in the world did you find that one?
Scruffydog actually it was one of the easiest to find.
Watch the video and when she is walking on the beach you see an island in the back ground. Go to Google Earth and you run around the coast until you find an rock outcropping off the beach. Well this particular beach has one a few hundred yards out.
Then you start clicking on the little blue picture boxes on the beach until you find the right photograph that matches up with scenes in the video. One of those little blue boxes has a series of pictures which featured a shot of the interior of the beach cafe pretty close to where the video camera was set up. BINGO we have the right location. :D

ALS is the best, of the best, of the best when it comes to stalking. I don't think I'd even qualify for a merit badge next to him. I'm still at the helping little old ladies across the street stage. I thought it would be a major chore finding the island if it was close to Ajaccio and this one certaintly wasn't a stones throw away.
I wasn't able to save this video before it was pulled. Does someone have a link to it?

Sorry to say but it just doesn't look like the island we see in the music video.
RMJ mentioned over at AF that the beach scenes were shot at the "Plage Sévani"
http://www.alizee-forum.com/showthread.php?26083-A-cause-de-l-automne-(2012-06-28)/page10&p=868033#post868033
Your right that section where she was alone on the beach with sun setting behind her was on Plage Sévani thanks to a confirmation photo I found by her father. The outline of rock formation (the rock of Capo di Fen) off the coast was a perfect match.
Obviously there is a very similar cafe over on Plage Sévani.
RMJ over on AF nailed the location back on the 17th of July.
What I saw originally was Bird Island two miles off the coast and thought it was the land mass behind her. Based on the sun behind her I figured it was shot at sunrise. Now I see based on the actual location the video was shot it was near sunset. Talk about cutting it close during the filming.
I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to Mr. Joseph Jacotey for helping me pin point your exact floor and location in the building of your lovely home today. :omg:

Euphoria, I didn't go looking for this one, the picture showed up on my Facebook news feed. I've had her home address since 2009 if it matters to you. What absolutely amazes me and a few others on this board is how easy it is to follow her around based on the information she posts.
You still haven't gotten the message I've been trying to show you and everyone on this board.
DON'T post private information on the Internet you don't want everyone across the planet to have access to. Something women in general need to learn about the Internet sooner than finding out the hard way later. I'm shocked at what some of the women around me post on their Facebook pages. FYI I have never posted one thing on my Facebook page. When people ask me to be friends I warn them up front that I don't post, ever.
For a woman who supposedly is very secretive and protective of her privacy Alizee doesn't seem to have any inhibition to putting her whole life up on her Instagram or Twitter account on a daily basis.
That hotel room from the video as I pointed was just plain dumb luck. I was looking at possible places to stay if I decide to head over next summer. If you realized where she lives and know where the Radisson is located you would understand that I was trying to get some distance between Alizee's home and possible places I might stay in Ajaccio.

Sorry, but you're a creep. No matter how you justify it, you're looking up everywhere she goes. I've been on other forums where this behavior was not allowed. It seems to be encouraged here. Weirdos.
While I don't exactly approve of looking up where she lives, I don't see anything wrong with finding out where scenes from the music video were filmed, or where in Ajaccio she gave an interview on tv or something along those lines. What about Scruffy going to the building in the ÀCC video, was that creepy too? I thought that was really cool and it's something I've wanted to do for a long time as well, it's kinda like a big Elvis fan going to visit Graceland. Ajaccio looks like a really nice place to visit, just from Alizée related stuff we've seen, as well as from pictures taken by fans. So if I'm ever lucky enough to go to these places, this stuff would be very helpful and it would be great to visit them, so I'm grateful. My 2 cents.
Now Alizée is tweeting pictures to her loving fans of her Rue from her bedroom window. :)
Obviously Euphoria, Alizée wants us to know where she lives. :)))

Well this is Ajaccio, not New York city. If it was NYC, there'd probably be fans stacked 50' high, all along that street. But like I said this is Ajaccio where they either respect her privacy or don't care.
It's not an easy place to get to and it's not a cheap place to get to, so I really don't see any harm in it. If some nut case wants to go there and stalk her, she herself has supplied them with all the info they need, but I know from my recent trip there that strangers stick out like a sore thumb and I'm sure they would not be tolerated. The police station is close by.
You have to look at what she's done to fans with this new album. We expected it in october and I don't think that was the original date. Then it was put on hold for a few weeks, then january, then march. What's next? How else are we supposed to maintain our interest, by watching her add tatoo after tatoo?
Most fans here will probably get no closer than an ocean away from her. They have to do something to maintain there interest and something like this is challenging and it's fun to try and figure out the locations of different pictures and videos. It's like a mini CSI.
Unfortunately it would make things easier for someone who wanted to seriously stalk her, but like I said, she has already made that task far to easy herself. The places she frequents are in a small area, it wouldn't take long for someone who was "determined" to find her, to locate her.
If she's concerned, she should stop posting these pictures, but she continues to post them because with the rare exception of an occassional fan drifting through, she knows there is little risk, and it's not really enough to be concerned about. You have to add the fact that though she is still a very beautiful woman, her jam days were years ago and though she is still popular ( is she?), she is far from the hottest thing in Europe that she used to be. Of course this new album could change all that, then she might regret posting those pictures.
The only thing else I would add is I hope no one ever actually posts a picture that does show the entrance to her place (unless she does it) and let's try not to overdue it with mapping out each and every place she goes when she posts a picture. When I first got home from Ajaccio and she was there posting pictures on a regular basis, I kept recognizing places I'd seen and for a while I was posting maps of all the different locations, but then I thought it was a little too much and now I only once in a while post one if a site has a special interest.
As far as figuring out where each scene in this video was filmed, I say go for it. I just wish I had more time lately to participate in the effort.

I'm sure Alizée meets fans all the time, whether it be in Ajaccio or Paris.. but the main thing is that they are always respectful towards her.
It would be crossing the line if anyone ever tried to seek her out at her home address though, but I'd like to believe Alizée doesn't have fans like that.
Just my two cents.
Edit:
Now can someone please locate that churchyard on the new music video.
I've got probably an hour and half trying to find that small town and church.
Big island and lots and lots of small towns. The problem is was that church yard in Ajaccio or outside of Ajaccio. The steeple we saw may not be attached to the same church the yard is located at.

Well I think there are a few things we can extrapolate (I always wanted to use that word in a sentance) from the picture of the sundial. Some sundials are put up for decorative purposes and serve no real purpose as a clock, but in places like Corsica, I'm sure that's the exception. I'm sure these sundials were a valuable tool for the people who lived there.
So I'm sure this is a working sundial and what is more accurately called a vertical sundial, so for it to work correctly, it has to be positioned a certain way. Most face rougly south. I posted part of an article from wikipedia about vertical sun dials below. But sundials can face vastly different directions, but that would change the position of the hours on the face. The one in question does have 12 at the bottom, so it's safe to say this sundial is facing south.
By the by, sundials work the opposite way of clocks, at least in the northern hemisphere, kind of like toilets.
It looks like this picture was taken around 10:40 pm...................jk...am.
So in our search of the 5,400 square miles of Corsica for this sundial, we only have to check southern exposures. Maybe we can break Corsica up into so many square grids and we'll assign each member a sector, ALS will have one, Ray another, TDA,Panther, Un-reve and Aaron a couple more. Euphoria will give us moral support.........."Go team!".
All joking asside in our pursuit of this sundial, the picture looks like it was taken at the same level as the sundial. So would it have been taken from another tall building or is this sundial closer to the ground?
You have your assignments for tonight. Get to it!
_ Wikipedia_
In the common vertical dial, the shadow-receiving plane is aligned vertically; as usual, the gnomon's style is aligned with the Earth's axis of rotation. As in the horizontal dial, the line of shadow does not move uniformly on the face; the sundial is not equiangular. If the face of the vertical dial points directly south, the angle of the hour-lines is instead described by the formula
where λ is the sundial's geographical latitude, θ is the angle between a given hour-line and the noon hour-line (which always points due north) on the plane, and t is the number of hours before or after noon. For example, the angle θ of the 3pm hour-line would equal the arctangent of (λ), since tan(45°) = 1. Interestingly, the shadow moves counter-clockwise on a South-facing vertical dial, whereas it runs clockwise on horizontal and equatorial dials.
Dials that face due South, North, East or West are called vertical direct dials. If the face of a vertical dial does not face due South, the hours of sunlight that the dial receives may be limited. For example, a vertical dial that faces due East will tell time only in the morning hours; in the afternoon, the sun does not shine on its face. Vertical dials that face due East or West are polar dials, which will be described below. Vertical dials that face North are rarely used, since they tell time only before 6am or after 6pm, by local solar time. For non-direct vertical dials — those that face in non-cardinal directions — the mathematics of arranging the hour-lines becomes more complicated, and is often done by observation; such dials are said to be declining dials

Thanks guys. Finding that village was mostly luck, quite a bit of determination, not enough work to do at work, and a little thought. I've been locating places from the news and tv for several years, I guess like a hobby. I've always liked maps and aerial photos and the tools now available on the internet make the challenges beatable, for the most part.
I don't think that there are two identical steeple crosses in Corse-de-sud. And there are many. I think the sundial is quite unique as well, and I'm still hoping to at least stumble across a photo of it. Thankfully, tourists seem to post many photos of their discoveries. Streetview didn't go off the main roads out in the countryside. I abandoned google.com for any searches in France and start with google.fr and use french terms. A challenge in itself.
I spent at least an hour and half at work tonight looking for that sun dial. And of course I was searching in French. That one is so unique it would stick out like a sore thumb when running through the images.
Scruffydog you're right about most of these sundials were for actual use and not decorative. I ran across a lot of them on buildings that looked that they were 75 - 100 years old around Corsica.

I agree with you. My hope was that I'd find an image of the same sundial on the web. That probably wouldn't locate it though. I was thinking that I've only seen a handful of actual sundials myself, and they were all the horizontal type. I've never actually seen a vertical one. In the search for the steeple cross I saw pictures of many churches in Corsica and many of them had clocks on the bell towers. Many of the sundial pictures I found were also on bell towers. But those were usually much more ornate than the one from the clip, so it very likely is a personal sundial. It's on the back burner for now...

Here's the thing... I'm not worried for anyone's safety based on the things that get posted here by members. No one has showed where she lives or where she goes to have lobster-on-pasta dinners near her home. The town is so small that figuring out where the things she posts are is like looking around a kitchen to find a sink. And the problem isn't people here (me) figuring this out. It's any truly disturbed or delusional people out there that we don't know about who may actually have misguided intentions. They get the same information we get, and if someone like me can figure it out, then I figure just about anyone can. So the point I read here is that she should be more careful about what she gives out. That's what worries me. I know I'm no danger to anyone, and I don't get the feeling anyone else here is either. Now, if I started trying to figure out where she gets her clothes from, or what they cost, then I'd be concerned.

Oh totally. I mean there aren't thousands of magazines, blogs, and sites dedicated to celebrity fashion. But there are a ton of sites and magazines that scour Google Earth and post the latitude and longitude of where celebrities frequent.
Edit:
Think of it like this. What's worse? "Hey, I noticed Christina Aguilera goes to Starbucks a lot, she must love it!" Or, "hey, Christina loves the Starbucks on Sunset Boulevard, and she's usually there around 10 am."
I read recently that Christina Aguilera has developed a caffeine intolerance and can no longer drink coffee.

How about Shania Twains address? She's right up there on the stalkability chart.

We already know where she gets her clothes from. She tells us AND it is documented on several Alizee fashion sites like that MadeMoizelle site (can't find it atm) and all info can be seen and even links to buy it. You can even go on eBay and buy her same clothes. Clothing isn't that creepy, cause its accessile to everyone and she's not getting customized clothese just for her (except a pair of Nike's she got back in a 2007 interview).

Okay, here we go again. Last night I popped in here and reread some posts to this thread, and I was inspired either to craft a new reply post or do some more searching. I started on a new reply but wasn't impressed with the direction it was going, so I went back to searching. Turns out these three shots were all from the entrance to the village from the wide village shot. The yellow star marks the shooting location.

The mystical gate. The yellow star shows about where the streetview pics were taken. The rest should be self-explanatory.

Saying "Thanks for the ride." Same area as gate and fence

Walking along the fence. You might want to watch the video and pause it in a few locations to compare the views. Each frame provides different information and together it looks like these two houses.

I don't think that any more scene locations are going to be findable. I'm certain they are in that area though. I feel like the sundial is right there somewhere too.
I'm glad someone has a lot of time on their hands. :p
Great work, Boy you just know the guys on that other board have got to be sitting there with their mouths hanging open with your Alizée tracking skills. :D

Nice one.. I guess we can only imagine what's beyond that "mystical gate" though, well it looks like a gate to a public garden and not churchyard after all like I first thought.
Haha anyway it's only a guess but this is all I can come up with.. no doubt you'll prove me wrong though. :D

I resemble that! Actually, I fight to get as much free time as I can. It's never enough. Usually sleep is the first casualty.

I'll go along with your guess!
I'm still thinking about the sundial. Not looking for it, just thinking about it.
Here is a screenshot from another video. I want to try to find out what town or village it is from. Seems to be a place she frequents. :p

I'm getting to know you better now Ray and I'm sure you're just toying with us. That screenshot is obviously from Paris, Massachusetts; home of the taxeiffel tower.

Clearly, the image is from a performance at the Window of the World theme park in Shenzhen, China. :)

Someone actually recently had someone bring back one of those to give me!
We may never be able to pinpoint the location for that performance, with so many little villages scattered all over the world with those towers. I'll put that one in the same category as the sundial. :(
On the bright side though, since the first video wasn't the real video, and the second was the same as the first, then when the real one comes out there will be more locations to find, unless it's the same video again.

Did you guys know there is a Hotel in that cluster of small mountain villages?
Hotel Sole é Monte (http://www.hotelsoleemonte.fr/)
I wonder if the film crew stayed there. There are a few pictures that run on the right column, funny how that church with the unique cross is one of them. :13:
The exact location of the small village shot was 41,59,14.88N - 8,54,27.72E
There is a small carport/garage and it lines up with the shot under the tree to the right.
It is just to the left of Google Street View Ray4AJ shows in his post. I found it because the over head tree branch just didn't work out to any where else on that road with the building angles in the video. It was shot just to the left of the garage with the silver car inside and the white car outside.

You'd get some great views from that place! Looks like the rates are pretty low too. They are proud of that church in that town, it appears in photos quite often.

Let's find that sundial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Digging up the past here, but I never quit!
Here is a screen cap from the unofficial ACDLA clip.

Great work Ray. :D
I must have spent two to three hours using Google, Bing and Yahoo looking for that sun dial. Never even got close to finding it. Sometimes like in your case if you take some time off and search again you'll get lucky.
Edit Here is the page it is from. Scroll to the bottom for the image.
art-corse-du-sud (http://patrimoine-bati-ancien-de-corse.puzl.com/patrimoine-bati-ouvrages-art-corse-du-sud)

Correct. I wonder if the webmaster for that site can ask the photographer where that sundial is.
And that date explains why it came up now but not before. Funny thing though, the image came up at the top of my search. Google.fr must have us profiled. :)

Found - Sundial!
Remember this?
http://i.imgur.com/qH2NIyd.jpg
I became inspired again this evening after finding this event:
http://www.ca-ajaccien.fr/non-classe/participez-a-linauguration-da-stretta-di-i-mulini-a-cuttoli-corticchiato
(It was a walking tour of old mills outside the village where some of the scenes from the unofficial ACDLA clip were filmed.)
So I started searching again, and within minutes located this image via Google street view:
http://i.imgur.com/0VT85Y0.jpg
closer, with the lighting tweaked:
http://i.imgur.com/pr4P1XZ.jpg
Where it is: The top of the orange triangle points to the house.

More info about the other places in that town from the clip in this post:

What to find next?
No one can say that the members on this board are not diligent when it comes to our Alizée. :)

Wow, I never thought that sundial would be found!! I admit I did quite a bit of searching back then. I don't know why, but I really wanted to find that sundial. I assumed ALS would be the one to find it.
Thanks Ray, and congrats on a job well done ! :)
