When the broadcast last night "Samedi soir on chante", Alizée performed 4 songs:
- the first with the entire band
- a medley with Emmanuel Moire and Lorie. Alizée is interpreted "La vie par procuration", and then all three have used a title.
-The third, Alizée sings "American" in Duet with Chimène Badi
- the last song, during a medley Alizée sings "il y a" the show ended very late photos soon!

Well that's a hard dose of reality. If she could've appeared at the full potential of her beauty, they probably would've moved her up front. I don't think it was that becoming an outfit or hairdo for her.

As far as her voice, it sounded great!

EDIT: Upon further review, taking a look at all the outfits, it looked like they were trying to put everyone on an equal level as far as what they wore and they weren't trying to make any individuals stand out, I guess because the focus of the show was on JJ Goldman and not them. It was nice of all of them to participate in the show and they didn't want to show any favoritism as far as dress.

On Twitter I saw bad comments about her tattos and some about her voice.

Amel Bent the best of the night, she has a nice voice. Opposite Matt Pokora that with Pascal Obispo have the worst male voice of France.

From what I've seen so far, these were very good performances by Alizée. I hope this helps her gain a better following.

The only other song since 2003 that I've liked was PLP. The Vanessa Paradis song she sang in Israel also had very good sections,but there were spots that were out of her range and like I said, this whole song sounded great.

I was having some doubts as to whether it would ever happen again. Well it just did.

EDIT: I've been so busy getting ready for my trip that I really haven't had time to keep up with what's been going on. Then I come here and find this. What happened? Why hasn't anyone been able to capture the beauty of her voice the way this song has? Unbelievable. For the first time in years, I'm watching one of her performances over and over again; despite you know what!

It looked like MP couldn't take his eyes off her when she was singing.

Definitely live. No way she would have allowed vocal mishaps on backtrack. Generation 90 Moi...Lolita on the other hand...that was backtracked because it was perfect key-wise.

I really enjoyed watching Alizée performing on this show. She sounded so good, and like some others here, I think that if she sounds this good on the new album, it will do well. I'll admit that I tear up a little listening to these performances because it's so great to me to hear her singing like this.

Towards the middle of La Vie Par Procuration I felt like she sounded similar to the old perfomance on Graines de Star of Ma Priere. When I checked it wasn't quite the same but it still reminds me of that.

I enjoy listening to all of Alizée's songs on all the albums. Some more than others of course. Some of songs from the third and fourth albums took a bit longer... To me (as Scruffydog has said many times) she can sound really good when she sings a song that makes good use of her voice. Her early mentors were able to provide songs like that for her, even though I'm pretty sure they played around with the knobs on the mixing board quite a bit on several songs on Gourmandises to tweak her sound. I'm not sure she chose the best songs (for her) to sing on the last two albums, but she did what she wanted to do and that's her choice. However I'm hoping that maybe she found songs for 5 that she can make sound great. Or that she was guided in that direction...

But I'll like them no matter what.


Edit - PS, whatever... I discovered today that a CD was released a few months ago called Generation Goldman. Maybe it was discussed before but I totally missed it. It is a compilation of many of the songs they performed on the the Samedi show, but Alizée did not perform on the CD. It was fortunate then, I think that she was able to be on this show.

I especially keep listening to "American" from 1:55 to 2:30. It is now echoing in my head.

By the way, in watching American meay times, I can almost swear that the program is being very careful with their angles and close-ups to minimize her tattoos being too evident. They didn't eliminate our seeing them, but they do seem to minimize it somewhat.

For example, doing close-ups when the mic is in her left hand (which is not often) or her arm is down and she is turned towards Chimene.

A question for the ladies - in American, she seems to hook her hair back at one point (just after the gospel section). Could she really have a hook in her hairdo? :)

I thought it was live... That performance was the secound best of all ML performances. I like better the M6 live in 2008. She should have to record that version to the album! ML in alter version, ahw it was very awesome!

Samedi soir show... Well I also really enjoyed watching Alizée performing on this show. My favorite song was Il y a. I started crying when I was watching it... She has a beautiful voice, I think she is the most talented singer of those who were also in the show. But Chimene, Shy'm and Tal were also good enough. (I haven't known them before)

I agree with you; if she sounds this good on the new album, it will be successful. I think this album will be better than UEDS, maybe than Psychédélices too. Actually this album reminds me to MCE maybe because of the cover art's colors. Btw... she should have record a new song called J'ai pas trente ans ... because of the JPVA (in memoriam :D) I really love that song.

Sincé you're from france, do you know what happened with Nadiya? She was suppossed to reléase an álbum at the end of 2012. Do you know if she stopped singing? I know her 2008 álbum wasn't that successful, so maybe that's what is causing the delay.

I'm still shaking my head in disbelief over this song I think it might have been one of her best songs (not performances) ever. It's too bad she couldn't make it into a single.

What really amazed me was the part at the 1:18 mark where she really started to belt out the song. I had said about some of her songs in Les Enfoires 2012 that her voice sounded wonderfully soft and beautiful, but I thought maybe with age or whatever, she might have lost the ability to belt one out. Well she proved me wrong...........big time. I still haven't had the time to look up the lyrics which I think someone did post here or to learn both the French and English lyrics, which I will.

EDIT: I'm learning as I go here and didn't realize that she sang one song, La Vie Par Procuration, and it led into another.


On another note, I commented that it looked like MP was starting at her while she was singing. Turns out he was looking the opposite way. My bad.

Exactly! That's one of the many reasons that attracted me to her. Her uniqueness (voice, personality, beauty, etc). Alizee is unique in so many ways. Like I've said before, I've been listening to a lot of singers for decades (both American and foreign, not just French) but, I've never seen or heard anyone like her.

I've always loved Alizee's voice, but I don't really like it when she sings in a higher range. I loved that her voice was lower and a bit husky, yet still sounded quite sweet. It's very unique. I just wish she'd have concentrated more on her vocals over the years, it's kinda disappointing when she only sounds good live once in 5 years.
