I was thinking about this... I would not blame her if she does not sing this one live. I really think it is a very difficult song to sing live for her, and even if she does it, I guess she would need two or three people for the chorus, too. It would sound different from the album version, which could be very interesting. I wonder which songs they will sing, I am looking forward to this show.

Thanks melovelily for posting that. An added benefit was Ecris L'Histoire was another very good song I enjoyed from the 2010 Les Enfoires show. Now I know who sang it originally, or maybe it's a remake of an older song. Either way it's a great song and he has a very good voice.

No, but I have to say it was best version of JEAM vocally if you listen to just parts where she was singing. Sadly it wasn't full version and she was perform with that other guy.

Did anyone else notice that signature ML move she did at 07.01? Must be ages since she last did that :D I also caught a hint of rivarly with the girl she sang ML with... she should watch her place :P
The karaoke versions were ridiculous... they honestly couldn't gotten anything with more quality, like say the original instrumentals, than that crap? Oh well, I liked the singing, wasn't anything amazing but I then again I usually don't expect much from live pop music TV performances, they're not usually about the singing as much as the presence, in my opinion.

I don't know when she started doing this, but quite often during a song she'll add an upward inflection (the best way I can describe it) on the last word of a verse and it just doesn't sound good. That's my only critique, not even a big deal, just throwing it out there.

First of all, she looked fantstic and sang very well. Also, the hairdo was a nice experiment (not a favorite, but still a nice change). In addition, I liked the eye shadow (again, a nice experiment). Finally, the intense eye contact with the boy came over very well, as did the brief turn and arm waving.

Now, on to the inflection. She did it so much, and occassionally so intenslely, in 2008 that it drove me nuts in the Mexican videos of her performances - so much so that I can't even watch a couple of them. She HAS to train herself out of doing those inflections - EVER! She is an emotional person, and I 'm sure they are a by-product of her emotionality. However, they simply don't work. I wonder if she did them back in Mylenes day and M trained her out of it at the time?

IF she likes to do them, she can feel free to do them all she wants when in the shower (except this could hinder her breaking the habit). But she should never do them again when performing.

This was Alizée at her best. I hope we see a lot more of her like this. :)

She definitely has the ability, in past albums and performances her voice was always on point... she just seems to be neglecting it these days. I think Alizée has still her deep voice, cause when you watch... by interviews it doesnt changed much... but last years I think she sing in higher, cause she planned it so... to be different... but its much...
you can see it by ML electro version in Generation 90, however it was lipsynced... she sang with high voice, but in part of "Lo-li-ta" it was much deeper... by closed eyes you would imagine the younger Alizee :)

Yeah, her voice was quite bad during the Mexico concerts. I've noticed she sounds way better live lately. I think she's definitely been practicing or taking some lessons.

I agree that she seems to be doing a little better with the live singing. I also hope she practices routinely every day. It's the single most important thing she can do in support of her career.

As far as the "upward inflection" thing goes, I would prefer it if she didn't do it. I don't find any musical value in it. Maybe she's using it as sort of a trademark sound for herself, but it can be a bit annoying at times. Maybe it's not hurting anything, but I definitely don't think it's helping either.

About the performance, I would say the voice was fine for Alizée’s live standards. I have come to expect less than mediocre live singing from Alizée and I am used to it now. Could she sing better than this? Although I do not believe she is an exceptionally gifted singer, I think she could do better, but she might not want or feel she needs to. Otherwise, I quite enjoyed the way she looked as well as her stage presence. Very charismatic, as always.

Well, that kind of lie could be a good help, if ACDL begin to have some succes and people who completly forgot her are attracted by her again. That the kind of thing you want to ear when you wonder what she could have done all this years...

I understand that the goal was to promote Alizée and hide certain facts about her career, but I think this is going beyond what is acceptable. It is not like I don’t expect such a show to hide certain aspects and embellishment reality here and there, but as far as I am concerned, to actually say something so far from the truth is an insult to Alizée’s fans (the few that are still following her) and a lack of respect for the audience.

Also, if Alizée truly wants to have the career she is having now and if she is not interested in putting more time and efforts into it (which is certainly her prerogative), then she should be honest about it and refuse to play that sort of game. Maybe she had little to do with the statement, but since these shows are usually highly scripted in advance, she could have asked for change, or, at least, she could have easily slipped a little truth into her reply if she had wanted to. I don’t like to see Alizée participate in her promotion on the basis of false pretense. Most popular artists lie about certain aspect of their life or career so to increase their popularity and I expect that, but I am just not a fan of lying to that extent.

I don't want to start a rumor here but I thought I'd seen on Twitter (not from her) in the last few days that Alizée was going to be on Star Academy again today. Then when she 'went to Paris' yesterday I figured that was why. But there hasn't been anything mentioned about this here and I find that odd. I don't have time to search for info this morning but the show is on NRJ12 at 20h50 today.
