Delays are nothing new as well, I'm not sure this will really come out next year. Maybe right at the end for Christmas or something, if she has a handful of recorded songs left over from 5, like the 2 Goldman songs she's mentioned, that "didn't fit in with the rest." That way she could be halfway there already, and with some luck this next album could come out sooner than the 3 year wait we're used to. Or if somehow a change is made to how she goes about making these albums, with hopefully as good or better results. We'll see what happens. :)

I'm really excited about the news but I doubt that we will get anything before mid-2015 or late-2015. Next year is already in 2 months. I doubt that she will manage to make a new album within the next 12 months or so and then release it in late 2014.

Before 5 came along, I said often that Alizée needed a good manager, someone who knew what they were doing. With 5, I thought she had that with Sony Jive Epic. So I stayed very optimistic through the delays. In the end, though it may have been her best album to date ( of the last 3), it was still a disappointment for me.

Now it sounds like they are going to rush an album through, so they can take advantage of her new found popularity, possibly making it a best of album? Even though an album that has the best of her last 3 albums, even if it didn't include songs from MCE or Gour, would be a pretty decent album, I think it will need something else to make it sell and that will be a top 10 hit. It doesn't matter if they include some songs from MCE or Gour either. It needs something new and it needs something good.

Maybe the two songs from JJG will do the trick, but I don't like the fact that they will be rushing things. They took an extra 6 months with 5 and it didn't do any good.

So I was very optimistic with 5, but I think with this album, I'll just take a wait and see attitude.

That is great news. I would agree that UEDS had a very specific electro 'feel' to it and although it wasn't very popular I actually really liked it and I think it was something that she really wanted to do regardless of any other considerations. You also have to factor in that Alizee really is her own person and she will go her own way rather than suck up to the demands of 'fashion' in the music industry. That is yet another one of her admirable qualities in my opinion.

As for '5' again, I would agree that there were a couple of songs on there that had a 60s feel (which I like) but I wouldn't say that the entire album was 60s.

Whatever happens with this next album, as long as she can get it out quickly enough, it should get quite a bit of exposure on the back of her recent success in DALS and the subsequent media exposure she is currently 'enjoying'. Yeah, you were right about what I meant by "mainstream pop". Actually I really liked UEDS and 5 both (more than Psych), but I was hoping that the new album would be somewhat different from previous ones. So I can't tell right away whether I'm going to like the new album or not without listening to it. But I was disappointed to hear that this album also is gonna be a retro one.

I think one of the biggest things that hurt 5 was when they released in what my opinion were the two best songs. ACDLA was released, then they announced a delay in the album and JVB was released roughly 6 months later. Those were the two songs that could've made this album a success, but by the time the second one came out, everyone probably already had ACDLA in one form or another. So why buy the album for one very good song?

Of course the timing could've made this album sell enough to at least have been considered a financial success if it had come out after DALS.


I think 5's biggest criticism though was she talked her way through the album. She didn't really sing. She didn't belt one out. Now she doesn't have a very strong voice, but she still has a beautiful voice. Now JAM and ML grabbed all the headlines, but one of my favorites as far as her voice is Lou ou Toi. Now she did talk her way through a lot of this, but one of my favorite parts is at the 1:23 - 1:47 mark where her voice sounded so soft, so beautiful.

Now undoubtedly her voice has changed with age, but I saw no finer example that she still has a soft and very beautiful voice than when she sang a duet with Clare Keim for "Rolling in the Deep" during Les Enfoires. . She could not have belted out the lines that Clare did, but Clare could not have sounded as soft and beautiful as Alizee did during her lines.

She's still incredibly beautiful, but I think she should keep the tats out of view.

Dance wise, year after year, I love the way she dances during Les Enfoires, so there's nothing lacking there, so I think there is a chance to pull it all together, but each facet has to fall perfectly into place and that will be tough. The two toughest obstacles are the music and mostly songs that will show case her voice.

I was disappointed when Blonde came out. It wasn't a bad song, but I thought if fell far short of what she needed. Then came the stage performances and I couldn't believe the dress she was wearing. The video came out and again, it wasn't as good as it could've been and I wasn't feeling very optimistic about this album, but I keep getting this feeling in the back of my head (and the small brain it contains) that there going to slam dunk us with some really good songs and videos. I hope this feeling is right.

I'm sure Sony was probably disappointed with the results of Blonde. Even with the new fan base, it didn't do that well, so when I first heard about this tour, I was worried maybe they were cancelling the album in lieu of the tour, but this makes it kind of obvious, the album is still a go and if they plan on sticking to their original schedule, a new song should be coming out any day now.

Well some of us thought 5 might be her last album if it wasn't a hit and it wasn't a hit, but DALS came along and breathed new life into her career. Now it all depends on this album. If it fails, I think Alizée will have grown very tired of the chase, but if it's a big success, it could dim the unpleasant memories of years of hard work with little success and if she finally found a secret for success, she just might stick with it.

I'm kind of worried about this Tour though. Blonde certainly wasn't a hit. Now there scheduling this big tour and they have no idea if the public which has shown it's very hard to please, will like this album or not. Are they that sure of these 11 songs to go ahead at this point to schedule this tour? They're setting her up for a big fall if it doesn't sell. But I have to think they (Sony) really like the songs and have confidence in this album, plus they have in place good ideas for the Tour shows, that will make it a good show, even if the album isn't popular and that is why they did what they did.

I would also like to see the MF song included on this album. I'd almost like to start a petition for it, but I'm sure it's way too late for that.

Okay, I don't know why, but there are the informations about a few songs on Sony Poland website.

The album contains 11 songs in pop climates, including the ballad "Seulement pour the plaire" and "Mon planeur". Other tracks are e.g. the retro-styled song "Tweet" about the human relationships in times of dominance of the social media - in which the dominance of Alizee is significant (one million fans on FB and 320,000 people following her on Twitter) and also a very personal song about her mentor - "Mylene Farmer".

Well from what I can make out, this Pascal Obispo guy is well known in France for being involved in big musical productions and that would tie in with the Blonde Tour being billed as a 'musical show'. My guess is that this whole Blonde Tour and the new album is really his baby and Alizee is the vehicle for it all.

Let's face it, Obispo is a has-been, trust me you won't find anyone under 40 who still buys his albums and his overall popularity isn't that great either.

I really don't think that Alizée should surround herself with those people.. except for Les enfoirés. If there's one french artist she should stick with , it's Indila . She's like Tal, but less childish and more talented and a partnership would be a win win situation since Indila is newcomer in the world of showbusiness who needs support and Alizée needs to rejuvenate her style.

The one thing I would say about Obispo though, is I think his experience might be useful in the studio, mostly on the production side of things. Let's face it, Alizée's biggest success to date was with MF/LB who are also from an older generation. It might be getting more and more difficult for Alizée to find good people to work with.

1 million views sure... but with the worst like/dislike ratio ever to date in one her music videos... Compare that to ACDLA which can boast a 95% positive rate. Choosing quantity over quality is the reason why so many artists are losing their identity, their own personal touch to reach a wider public but end up losing their faithful fans.

I'm not hating, just being pragmatic... I understand perfectly that she tries to learn from her commercial mistakes, but to me , he overdid it in that latest album.

Sadly, I have to agree with this. Let's face it, 5 was basically a failure yet again. If not for DALS, Alizee would be ancient history in the media. I think it's great that she's got such good friends willing to do this for her. She's got Pascal who composed all of the songs, and is also doing vocal backing. Then you've got Zazie who wrote the lyrics to 3 songs. Pascal is basically the new Mylene.

I love Pascal's music and I don't care that he's a "has-been" in France. He's got a ton of valuable experience and connections.

I really don't think the dislikes are from Alizee haters. I would think people who don't like her wouldn't want to waste their time checking out her music. I think it's more likely it's new fans she gained from DALS who weren't familiar with her music. They decided to check out this song and weren't happy with it which I think isn't that much to worry about. I think Alcaline is a much better song and will do better and hopefully there will be more of the same on this album.

Going off topic for a minute. The mention of her possibly being pregnant got me thinking about her "family" situation and her trip to New York. . I still find it hard to believe that she would go there at that time of year considering the winter they were having for a vacation,. I thought it was more likely it might have something to do with the album. When she came out with Blonde and that dress with the picture of NY times square on it, it made me think it was more likely that she has or maybe had ideas to use scenes from there in the video, but maybe the cold forced her to reconsider.

But now thinking more about her family situation, now that she's apparently in a relationship with Gregoire, maybe she came over to this country to take care of the fact that at least in this country, she is still considered married to Jeremy. I'm not that familiar with marital laws. If she was married in Vegas, could she get a divorce or get the marriage annuled in New York?

I did a quick search on the Clark County (where their marriage license was issued) and it looks like neither of them have filed for divorce. Their marriage certificate is on there, though. I know that France formerly did not recognize quick Las Vegas marriages. I'm not sure when that was changed, though. I'm sure they've mentioned it to a lawyer before and it wasn't important. I guess symbolically it could mean something though, when moving onto other relationships.

With regards to the dislikes on that Youtube vid I think they are more about the way she looks now than the music itself. That is certainly reflected in a lot of the negative comments.

We know there are loyal Mylene fans out there who are always ready to hate on Alizee but a lot of these latest criticisms seem to be coming from long-term existing fans who are disappointed with the direction she is moving in image-wise and to be honest I can't say I'm surprised.

I listen to the album from sending press, and for those who are interested, here is my opinion (trying to be objective) ... He must still know the title Mylène Farmer is not available on CD releases, apparently they want to keep the surprise until the end.

SPOILER!!

1 - Blonde, you know, apart from a difference in tone more acute during the rise towards the end, it is the same version as the single. 4/5

2 - KO. A cool song, mid-tempo verses very effective on the theme of boxing (as Boxing club), the chorus begins with a reference to Muhammad Ali and is followed by a change of pace on the catchy word repeated 6 KO times. "Mohamed Ali, I'm not afraid of him, I boxing in the same category. J'le put KO But if looking at another, he will not have time to count to ten." 3.5 / 5

3 - Alcaline. Are known. 4/5

4 - Seulement pour te plaire. This really is one of the least good songs, it's slow and the chorus is cheesy. At the end means Obispo meet Alizée ... 2/5

5 - L'amour renfort. The lyrics is a little cat is on course love ... What platitudes ... The verses sometimes it will. Always the same music Blonde, Alkaline, KO ... And there is the same rise as in We Found Love by Rihanna. With squeaker, squeaker, squeaker, squeaker increasingly acute. "Ouuh, This is love, this is love, our feeble that makes us strong, our heart beats them all" ... BWE. 2.5 / 5

6 - Bi. This is a cool title, looks nice as Muriel. The text speaks about gender stereotypes ... and sexuality. The chorus starts with "Prejudices, phobias, it does not need an alibi, no, (...) This is love, always love, baby!". There are plenty of references to the supposed tastes of the sexes: Glee, Zlatan, Noxious and impeccable pecs' for gay, cabins for lesbians trying ... In short, it exposes the clichés still wanted to jump. 3.5 / 5

7 - Mon planeur. Very pretty slow, just hovering. The Alizée voice is very nice. We finally away from the boom boom. Air clip can imagine ... We love. "For a weightless off, you take the controls of my glider, j'garde open eyes wide open, I never fear, you press 'on' and it lasts for hours ..." 4/5

8 - Ce qui tue l'amour. This is the most electro track, the most energetic ... We expect to see Yelle land towards the end to do a little featuring. This is the story of a girl who asks her guy to be quiet and listen to its list of "love kills". The chorus consists mainly of "Love Kills", all on an electro brostep hair. There is also a chorus shouting "it is at-ssi, for your in-put!" 3/5

9 - Tweet. This is THE success of this album, a true gem. Zazie writing this song about the fact that today everything is going too fast, and suddenly in love like we obviously recognize. A tweet is not a love letter. Tweet has a very vintage melody, sixties ... the song (with another music) might have been the lead single from the album 5. Really is a killer melody, you want to listen again waddled you . There is no fixed chorus, it differs slightly in each case. "See how it is packaged as shakes, just we love that we have left, but yes I love you yes but not too fast, not immediately, to hold you ..." and there choirs came after a two-sentence, and it creates a nice tennis. 5/5

10 - Charles est Stone. We leave on an energetic way ... this is the story of a guy, Charles, who does not care what people think of him and dance like crazy ... So it is stone but to shoot life to make it simple. Very catchy verse, pre-chorus slows and chorus that explodes "Charles is stone! X4". Title addictive despite the simplicity of the chorus. 4/5

11 - Mylène Farmer. Unknown!

12 - Plus de Bye Bye. Mid-tempo where Alizée clearly speaks of her since she met Gregory. Finally, we have to interpret it as that. "My life has changed, found my partner, who can wear my arms in the air (...) My life has changed a doubt, before I was alone, now I'm drunk." Suddenly today, it no longer "Bye bye" "That means reunion" ... the second verse: "My life has changed, like my tattoos, now you give me wages ...". This is not a pipe, but it's nice. 3/5

Overall, even the worst tracks give something pretty cool concert ... It's not the best album of Alizee (I personally think it's one that looks like him the least) but it's been so long could no longer dance to Alizée that this album is good.

Of course we don't know if this guy listened to the album and told the truth.

Blonde is out in Germany! :) It's great (I don't really share the hype about the Myléne Farmer song tho.... it's ok but I'm not over the moon) even if I had to listen to it twice to love it. Let's say it's a lot more mainstream and for a wider audience and maybe that's why I was a tiny bit disappointed at first. But now I love it.

This has been me the past couple days :dance: :aha: Myyyyleeeeeeene Faaaarmerrrrrr. :aha: :dance: I can't say I listen to much mainstream music, but I think Pascal did really well. It's the kind of album I imagine MF and LB would have written if she'd stayed with them. It sounds current and fresh, but unique. There are some things I don't particularly care for like autotune, but the music is so good that I just ignore it. Her voice also sounds fantastic. I knew she still had it in her! If this album doesn't sell like crazy then well, the French are crazy.

What is funny is that initially the song was not made for me. When I was in the studio and I chose the songs I listened to things with Pascal (Obispo). On the computer I saw a file that was called "Mylène Farmer". I asked him what it was, if it was for her, on her ... He told me that it was a song about Mylène! So I asked him "what is it for?". He told me "I do not know yet." I said: "If there is one that is well placed to talk about is me Make me listen!" So I listen and everything and I said, "but frankly it's great" because I speak Mylène without really talking!

Concerning the autograph session, she said in an interview that her schedule is pretty loaded for the moment, but there might be one later. Fingers crossed.

Dropped to 11th on Amazon from 9th yesterday. Still a very good showing considering how bad the last two albums sold. DALS was a huge boost for Alizée's public persona and it looks like her win lifted her back into the public's good graces.

So I've finally gotten around to listening to Blonde from start to finish. :omg:Wow:omg:. I F*CKIN LOVE IT! Now I'm a big fan of electronic music and it really makes me happy she decided to take an electronic/dance approach with this song. I feel like I could put this on at a party and people would ask "Who is this?" :)) If I had to choose three songs from this album I couldn't because I love each and every song. Even though there are elements of autotune it really doens't take away from the album. All in all this was a awesome album to listen to and I'm definitely gonna be sharing it with some people. Also I realize that sales in France weren't exactly as expected but, for what it's worth I think this album would've had a different outcome if it were promoted properly here in the US because, right now, Electronic Music is an all time high! anyway I love the album and hope she incorporates these into her dj sets and releases a remix album! :bow::D

I think at this point, if it wasn't for the Tour coming up, the album Blonde would be considered a failure. If I read the posts right, this Tour is going to be a combination of a musical or a dancing play or whatever, plus her singing several (???) of her songs, with which the choice of the right songs, I feel, the sales of this album could take off again if it's still available at that time.

As far as the song Blonde is concerned, I think they should drop it like a hot potato. I find the laugh at the begining very irratating. Once I get past that, it's not a bad song, but it certainly isn't a great song and I think it's impossible for it to do for her, what she needs. Unfortunately, Blonde was the theme of the album and I guess they had to promote it, but because of so much focus on that song, it brought down what I consider a good album. I have no desire to hear that song or see that video again.

Now a song like K O is a song I liked at first, but didn't quite like the chorus part, the K O part, but it quickly grew on me and now I think it's probably her best song from this album. Alcaline is another very song. At one point, I guess it's the auto tuning makes her voice sound like a high pitched squeal, but it's a very small, insignificant part of the song and I really enjoy it.

Now there's been good songs with her other albums such as Fifty Sixty, Lilly town, Les Collines, JVB, ACDLA and what I consider her most beautiful song of those first 3 albums (post MF) and that's PLP. But even with PLP, when I'm listening to my cds of her music, I never seek those songs out. If they come up fine, if not fine.

With K.O. and Alcaline, I find myself not just seeking these songs out, but playing them over and over again. That hasn't happened since the music of the MF days. In fact I can't get them out of my head. I just shake my head in disbelief that this album didn't do better.

So I think the Tour is a sure thing at this point. How many shows will happen is still way up in the air. But I'm hoping they wont include the song Blonde and they will include these other 2 songs.

One other thing I want to discuss is again her on stage appearence and I know this is something I've probably harped on too much lately, but I think now is a critical time, where there is still time for change before the final promotional push for this show and I make these comments at a time like this in the hope that someone relevant, may notice them, so I will discuss it again and one thing I've tried to avoid of late is discussing the tats, but again for the previously mentioned reason, I will discuss it here.

I think it turned out to be a very good video of one of her performances and I enjoy the heck out of watching it. I think the outfit was very good compared to some of her recent outfits. In the close ups of her, I thought she looked incredibly beatiful, even with the blond hair. One thing that really made this video look good was the set. The colors went very well together with her, what she was wearing and with her tats. I wish they hadn't zoomed in on the tats. They are an eyesore. The few who enjoy looking at them include Alizee and apparently Sony. People want to hear beautiful music, watch the beauty of dance, gaze at a beautiful woman and it is ruined by something like the ugliness of her tats.

There's a lot riding on this Tour for her. Her dancing may again save the day after a fourth straight flop in trying to produce an album. I think the dance part, has a very good chance of success. But I think what would be much more impressive is if she can resurrect this album. Make these songs, an unforgetable part of the show and for this, she and Sony have to make sure she puts her best, her most beautiful foot forward.

I think your hopes for those 2 songs will be fulfilled but I'm sure Blonde will most certianly be included too. Hahaha well 2 out of 3 ain't bad, but looking on the bright side atleast that will mean Alizée should be onstage that bit longer.

Kinda reminds me of her laugh during Youpidoo just after she says "Mon chouchou".. it's the only othertime I can recall her laughing during a song.
