Also i took a look at a Britney Spears forum, and even though I expected it to be nothing but Lili bashing, it was not that bad. Sure, you had a few die hard Spears fans saying some mean things, but there were quite a few people who said Lili did a good job. That was nice to see.

I just watched the whole performance for the first time, I was having some issues with the live streams before. Anyway, some peeps said it wasn't very good but I though it was fun :) It wasn't her best performance ever but I think she did well. She was kinda stuck next to Will.I.Am and looking at him from time to time, but she was dancing all the while. It was also neat to hear her pronounce her name in English :D

Here she is trying to resurrect her career and she gets an opportunity to make a splash on NJR's Music Awards and this is the song they want her to do in a duet. I'm sorry but it sounded nothing like people (or Alizée herself) normally pronounce her name.

I can't really describe it in English how she pronounced in wrong so let's try it in my mother tongue..

in German we would pronounce it like "A-li-see". And if I listen to this to me it sounds like "A-li-sä". And here the 'i' sounds different than normally. I can't really describe how. I'm sure she knows how to pronounce her name. But "Brit-ney" has one syllable less than "A-li-zée". So she tries to put her name in a rhythm that is perfect for the name "Britney" but not for Alizée. The "i" in Alizée is slightly longer than the "i" in Britney and the "zée" is a softer last syllable. But in the song this soft ending sounds quite harsh.

That's just from azlyrics, which is user submitted. They don't exactly pay attention to punctuation. Where she says "Britney bitch" is from her song Gimme More and it should have a comma. In the original song she says "It's Britney, bitch." The song is about the paparazzi's obsession with her. She's addressing them. Scream and Shout is heavily edited, and they cut that part in the song because it's fairly iconic for Britney at this point.

This year in Ajaccio it sounded more like an native English speaker would say it, sorta like Ahmerric-ha. Personally, and for all it's worth (not much btw :))- I would prefer that Alizée sing solo or at least with someone of a genre more suited to her voice. It almost seems like her management team is trying too hard to get her to fit in. While I find this clip of her with Will-i-am (weird way to spell a name) "cute" (but ONLY because she's in it)- it's not something I will watch more than once. I hope this is not an indication of the direction her new album will take.

To be perfectly honest, I think what she did with Will-I-am is a direction she would have preferred to have gone in if she had a say in the way her career first developed, but thank God, MF and LB came along and brought out that incredibly beautiful princess inside of her.

As far as Britney only making a fraction of what Celine is getting, that's easily understandable. Celine has an incredible voice compared to Britney and Britney used to put on a good show, but she's no spring chicken and she certainly isn't the eye candy she used to be. Still Las Vegas seems to be a mecca for fading stars, so it doesn't.........well actually it does and it doesn't surprise me. It doesn't seem like she should be able to pull in that much, but a lot of performers of varying degrees of talent, do get a fat pay check for performing there for drawing customers to their casinos.

Just so you know, I am not a Britney fan (and I agree with the toilet comment above). I had not seen this video before.

Wow, really?? Heh, I first watched this performance 7 or 8 years ago and I've always hated it to be honest, when she sings anyway, because the eye candy part was fine. So you are right about it not being about the singing, because in actual concert tour performances of the song (this was a 30th anniversary concert in MSG), a female backup dancer would play the girl from the music video and just walk around.

I don't really have anything against Britney except that I think her singing in this performance could have been better :D I'm also not a fan.

I doubt there are too many Britney fans, Will.I.am. fans or even Olly Murs fans here for that matter and well I very much doubt I would ever purchase any of their songs either.. but then again I never pay money for any songs/albums even though I like many artists out there. Well the bottom line is I have never been a fan of anyone but Alizée and I say that because she's the only one I have a collection of albums, singles and merchandise from and the only one I have followed all these years and then some.

Anyway back on topic and going back to the NRJ Will.I. am. and Alizée performance. I thought she sounded very British in the way she said " Turn the shit up " and I found that kinda cute. :) I dunno what Will. I. am. made of it though.. but for one desperate moment there, he crept back in her memory and god it's so painful... something that's so close yet still so far out of reach.
