Well we have over 15 years of videos of Alizee since she has become a star and that is not to mention the videos of her in school and at other times. I'm suggesting we form another thread, which I would suggest calling something like "Memory Lane" where people can post old official videos, fan videos or what ever that depict maybe a favorite song, remix, fan video or just a favorite moment and I'd like it to be a sticky thread. Do we have something like this already?

I was looking for an old L E video for another thread, when I came across this one. It had been posted sometime ago; I think well before the split and had been taken down for copyright violations. I believe it had been named Alizee - Goodbye Columbus. I had copied it and reposted it later with a generic name so it hopefully wouldn't be taken down. It's one I enjoy and I'm reposting it here, so others who I'm sure haven't seen it, might enjoy it too.

hmm not sure i get this exactly so pardon moi if i get this wrong but it seems like a nice way to re-discover through others eyes and hearts . ALS the condensed version is great and thanks for also including her full . I don't recall ever seeing that condensed , though like SD said so many years of videos hard to remember them all . I am surprised of scruff selection . I'd always memory lane Amsterdam i must have watched it for a week straight lol . . but the new Nickelodeon is pretty amazing as being somewhat unedited and no flashy effects imho mo beta than others ( its like look i already know her name you dont have to shine text across her face . . . ( we really need to form an Alizee's Oceans Eleven and steal all the unedited performance videos ) . Now joking aside ( not ) over all the ones i watch most or listen to are my remixes of ML Techno and Jordyn Taylors - Shake It ( i can hear AJ's voice singing it and the accent would be mmmazing to really hear )

Credit goes to you Scruffy for making his MLT mix as that inspired me to want to mix .

Therefore my " memory lane " goes to

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye5IKdEQK80

PS im still perplexed by how there are two versions of your video one full length of the song and the other which is linked above not being the whole song yet you cant recall how that happened. Its like youtube cut your video short...

................... I am surprised of scruff selection ..................

Well what someone posts doesn't necessarily have to be a favorite. I was mainly thinking of posting stuff that maybe others haven't seen, especially newer fans or maybe just posting a picture, a commercial, an interview, that we haven't seen in a while. I was looking for a video to use in another thread when I stumbled upon that Goodby Columbus one.

It could be just a moment in a video where something struck someone's fancy. A moment you'd like to remember or discuss, but you don't really feel it's worth the bother of starting a seperate thread for each thing. Here is another one of those little moments.

First of all thank you!
I don't remember posting a second version of this and not deleting the original. I've posted two versions of a video before; in one case, several weeks after posting the original, I changed A Six Pack of Alizée and put a 2 after it which is what I usually do if I don't delete the second one. When I changed it, the first one had a good number of hits, so I left it posted because I thought people may have favorited it and would lose it; not knowing a second version was posted.

However I don't recall having 2 versions of the Moi Lolita remix. I'm sure I never used the full remix in this case. I always look at these videos in addition to just liking to watch them myself, as a way of promoting Alizée and using the whole remix would just be too long I think to ask a prospective fan to watch.

Along that same line of thought, whenever I come across a prospective fan, I usually show them my Six pack of Alizée video, because even if they don't like one song it quickly moves on to the next.

Classic vid!

Well as far as fanvids go the one that really got me most was Return made by Orion back in the day before Alizée returned to us in December 2007. I never actually came across that vid until 2010 myself though and unfortuantly I can't post it here either because it's not available anymore but I remember it well because it consisted of clips from the Gourmandises video which is my all time favourite Alizée music video and it had a great soundtrack to it aswell from Laura Pausini, it just blew my mind.. it was like looking into a looking glass.

Anyway here's the song and english translation

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVsQrNrrWNM

I am coming back to you despite my pride.
I am coming back because there is no other choice.
Remembering the days on another latitude,
Visiting the places where I would see you,
Playing gestures and words which I have lost.
I am coming back to you from silence which is in me.

Tell me if there is still for me
Another opportunity, another emotion.
If you are still there
One more new and fresh song.
Tell me if there is now anything of us still inside of your eyes.

Oh, no...your eyes...

I am coming back to you because I still love you,
I am coming back to you against the wind.
I am coming back to you because I need you
To breathe out the anxiety,
To feel your strong hands on me
And not to feel myself always so fragile

Tell me if there is still for me
Another opportunity, another emotion.
Tell me, if you are still there and more
Our song which is sounding again.
Tell me, if there is now anything of us still inside of your eyes.

Oh, no...

If you are still there
Another song fresh and new.
Tell me, if there is now anything of us still inside of your eyes.
Oh, no... your eyes...

Just tell me if there is and I will come back to you

I always liked this performance and the way the crowd were so into it.. even back then it proved Alizée could sing great live and I couldn't help but notice around the 1:27 - 1:29 minute mark she almost looked like she was gonna laugh and was having a great time, I think it just emphasizes how great a live performace this really was. :)

Orion does great work. Laura Pausini (who I never had heard of before) has a beautiful voice and that's a great song, so I sent Orion a pm to see if he still has that video. I'd really like to see it.

That Laura Pausini video you posted is a great video in itself; beautiful woman; beautiful voice; very good video and I wlll check out some more of her songs later, but I already know what's at the end of that journey. I will enjoy her and her performances, but in the end, I will be asking myself what sets Alizee apart from so many other beautiful singers with so many other beautiful songs? Sometimes I get the feeling the answer is very complex; other times I think it's very simple. I'd love to find again what I found with Alizee, but I've been so fortunate in what I found with her, I do feel blessed for having her come into my life and I feel it's unfair to ask for too much and I'm still enjoying the hell out of what we have today.

..................I always liked this performance and the way the crowd were so into it.........

This was a performance I liked because the crowd was so into it; in fact after the 1:40 mark, there are points where they just about drown her out.

This video stimulates memories .... This is one of the old Matrix's videos, seems to me. That man was really amazing.
I remember ... ... several years ago when he was still active Alizee fan on youtube, I used to watch some of his videos. And he was indefatigable, he would made sometimes even a few Alizee fan videos per day, so that in a few years made them a couple of thousand, I think. :)
I watched many of his videos, and they were a great inspiration to me in thinking about Alizee.
Really a good find, ... brings nice old memories. :)

From the video: 2:20 What are you all staring at? ... 2:33 I am married to the fans. You are my life, voila!

This small part appeared in an interview with Alizee for the Belgium TV, Alizée - 2003-10-12 - Interview - News Report - Rode Loper - Belgium video with English subtitles at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9rK57OLmNM

Regarding Laura Pausini song,
there is a fan video with that song. It's Pour Alizée at http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1mq2s_pour-alizee_music (select Quality 380 for viewing)

And finally my recommendation for the Memory Lane. It's Papillon de Nuit from the time before her career:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQbXG4PqQ00

This performance was in the town of Pistoia. When I made my first trip to Italy, I arrived in Rome. I knew Alizee had performed at a few places in Italy and I was really interested in two of them because of the beauty of the settings. One was Pistoia and the other was Taormina on Sicily.

So I went to Pistoia, because I wanted to better visualize how it must've been to be in this beautiful setting, watching this beautiful young lady.
A year after performing in Pistoia in Festivalbar they call it, singing Moi Lolita, she again performed in Pistoia during Festivalbar, this time performing J'en ai marre.

I wanted to post a link to that performance and I found apparently it was no longer on Youtube, so I re-uploaded it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEcGEQyNknA

I then went down to Taormina; another beautiful, beautiful, setting and just sat in that Greco-Roman theater, gazing at Mt Etna in the background, day dreaming again of what it would have been like to have been there watching her.

Getting back to enjoying how fans get into it, I always enjoyed those 4 young ladies who were side by side, waving to the music at the 3:24 mark.

This is another of so many great moments. It was great to see her playing the drums, but more so it showed another of the many little gestures that shows the type of person she is. She just didn't wildly toss the drum stick into the crowd, she held them up to let them know one was coming their way, before tossing it as easily as she could.

You're most welcomed , it is very interesting and i've enjoyed the stories above thanks all for jumping in .
Great subject as it's good to learn about each other and again see through others hearts <3 I could be wrong on the video being on your channel , perhaps as was the case years back with all the various Alifan-tubes . Someone maybe had taken your video and added to it then uploaded to one of the many now disabled Alizfan channels . . I'm pretty sure i have that longer version somewhere , as i recall now having saved - then watching both and wondering why one was short . Unfortunately my files are a mess and not with me to be able to access for awhile but ill get back to you on that . Also if i ever complete my MLT , my process when creating and before is to watch the videos im mixing in sync at the same time . Then i get an idea of what clips to use before hand , anyway watching your video and mine same time in sync , some parts of yours catch my eye and some of mine - as in they make a good re-mix-mix with your permission i'll eventually get to that too .

The promo-video you made may want to title that as so and explain how you use it , may come in handy for others to do the same with if they know . I saved it now so even if im not able to be online for those times i can show em . Really good idea for a video and if that isn't already a topic would make a good one - fan made promo vids .

Edit:

Nice thread Scruffy!

Yes she had a bit of giggle in her voice , i often wonder during the times when it isn't obvious - what exactly she is laughing about . Like your video it could be a number of things , that would make an interesting mix of clips of her giggles ( i love her laugh ) yet moreso interesting would be her watching it then commenting on the ones she remembers - oh yeah - this or that was funny . .

Edit:

Another live performance I liked was at a festival in Italy. The way she interacted with the audience with little waves was cute.

I love those waves too , i wonder what her motives are there how it all started . Like i'd guess some people she recognizes , friends , fans who she seen recently , some waves maybe are for the going crazy fans so to give em a tip of a hat and calm them down a bit . As in o k relax i see you stop jumping around , your gonna hurt yourself or someone lol . . Maybe people wave to her ? Interesting side subject . . perhaps another good idea for a video mix or topic here and be a good thing to ask her about too .

That video you posted this link for looks like it was posted by Ben; the man who's been keeping this forum going for years and it was posted it looks like in the time frame for the video Un-rêve mentioned; in this case April, 2007, but this is a video where it looks like fans are urging Alizée to come back and doesn't have clips of Gourmandises in it; at least as far as I could tell. It's a 10 minute video and it stopped playing for me 3 times within the first 3 minutes. Also it looks like Ben makes an appearance in it . I think Orion might be in it, but I'm not sure exactly what he looks like.

................ Yes she had a bit of giggle in her voice , i often wonder during the times when it isn't obvious - what exactly she is laughing about . Like your video it could be a number of things , that would make an interesting mix of clips of her giggles ( i love her laugh ) .................

We had a discussion a few months back about songs on Blonde and I had said I didn't like her laugh at the start of the song Blonde, because to me, it sounded like something that wasn't natural, something that was forced of course, for the making of the song; where as here in this clip, it sounded incredibly spontaneaous and beautiful.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOoyHtB37i4

and that moment brings to me another time when her voice sounded incredibly beautiful and that is back when they were celebrating the completion of the installation of strobe lights on the Eiffel tower back in 2003. Unfortunatlely the MC was babbling like a brook, but it was the most beautiful "Merci beaucoup" I've ever heard in my life.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqkfEGkfCC0

................ I love those waves too , i wonder what her motives are there how it all started . ............................. .

I had wondered in the begining if that was something Mylene Farmer taught her "The fans like to see that.......wave often!", but when you follow her as much and for as long as we have, the true character unveils itself in so many ways, such as the thing with the drum sticks I mentioned in a previous post here, then there was her reaction at the M6 awards, her reaction in the studio during SAD 2001 and I think 2 of the most revealing moments in this video was at the :52 mark where a little brat almost pulls her into the stands and she laughs about it and there was the time in Poland when the interviewers made some off color remarks at the 3:03 mark and you could see the fury building up inside her.

There were the times she went back to Ajaccio every weekend early in her career to be with family and freinds. Her tremendous devotion to Corsica and family. It all points to a woman who is incredibly strong of character and as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. How did Jeremy screw up so bad?

Once again BIG thanks to Orion, Snatcher and RondasX for bringing it all to life.

In post #10, I wanted to mention Alizee's performance of J'en ai marre in Pistoia, Italy during Festivalbar. I wanted to post the video; saw it was no longer available on Youtube and decided to upload it again myself. I received a message today that the video was blocked due to copyright infringements and not just blocked in some countries which most often has been the case especially in Germany, but completely blocked due to claims by "R T I".

So I tried to look up who R T I is and if I got the right place it's,

RTI Music TV is a chain of music television of the RTI group only available in the morning on channel 1 and in early afternoon on channel 2 in Côte d'Ivoire.

I just hope this is just an isolated incident and hope we don't see her other videos taken down.

EDIT:

I just went to my Youtube channel and this is what it said;

Eventually or as has been the case you may see videos removed and subvert to the copyright owners version .
Those videos which you have no copyright violations on should be no problem and will remain .

Basically you just uploaded the video and someone else who complains to youtube or makes money advertising from their version of that video and/or audio has them all taken down automatically . All though there is a human element youtubes song match program is pretty much infallible . So its not a sign of all her videos will be removed .

I'd recommend you make a test YT channel , most likely you wont get banned but with Alizeefan channels it seems to happen quite often . So i'd put em on the test channel first to see if they are removed - if they aren't after some time then you know its safe for your main channel . or even have a couple channels wont hurt just adds to the fun . I was just going to make this a subject but im so long winded no one listens , then i seen here .. anyway it would make a good subject but im tired good night .

Scruffy I just got around to watching your vid and yeah those Alizée expressions are the cutest! Haha well on a sidenote I was only thinking of Par les paupières this morning before I even clicked on your vid. :omg:

Anyway maybe it's something to do with this thread or that song from Laura Pausini that got me thinking of that song too. I dunno but we all wanted something new and fresh from Alizée back then and I believe Par les paupières was the most beautiful song Alizée came back with on her third album if not the best . :thumb:

BTW I was thinking of posting a small clip from an interview in Korea I believe it was. It wasn't the main interview in Korea but another clip or out take where her eyes were so expressionate looking up right left centre and everywhere but I couldn't find it on youtube. We usually get small glimpses of those cute kinda eye expressions from her and I can only imagine it's her way of running things through in her mind whilst she's thinking of what to say but in that Korea clip it really was Alizée eye overload. :scrunch:

Well it seems I was wrong, it was actually the bit right at the end of the Korea interview where she did that with her eyes.

Here's a link to that part of the interview..

maybe there was a slowed down version of those moments back in the day that I saw or maybe it was something else.. I dunno. :o

Anyway staying on topic with Alizée's cute eye expressions, many interviews she did have highlighted them, the M6 Kid interview for one is a real treasure but so is this more recent one .

While doing some research on Alizée for another thread, I came across this picture from the 2013 Les Enfoires which I was at where she is standing next to some gentleman who also participated in the show. This reminded me of the picture that was taken of her with Robbie Williams.

Now her face lit up like the sun. I'm not sure if it's because she's strongly attracted to these guys or just very impressed. What ever it is, it brings out her most beautiful smiles.

This guy is Mika, he seems to be pretty popular in France, he was very succesful in 2007 with this song and his first album. Also, he's gay, so I don't know if Alizée could've been attracted to him

She probably likes Mika's songs and if you recall she even sang that one "Relax, Take It Easy" at Les Enfoirés in 2008 in a sketch called The Match.

She really did like Robbie Williams music back in the day though and even stated in a magazine interview once that she even wanted to do a duet with him and so with that photo of them both together I think it's safe to say she was and still is a fan.

Her dad also posted posted a colour version of that photo back in 2012, it was actually taken at La fête de la musique where she performed Jai Pas Vingt Ans!

RMJ posted both the photos and info on them here.

Hmmm. Guys, i have this idea of making a web site or maybe facebook account with the life line of Alizee. Collect all her videos, put the the right date, when and where it was made. Translations to english and any other language. That would be a huge project and take a lot of time, but it could be done little by little ? It would be our lasting present to future generations

It sounds like a great idea. Has anyone tried this before with Facebook? I don't know how you'd make all her videos available. I noticed not too long ago her performance of J'en ai marre at Festivalbar in Pistoia, Italy which I believe happened on 6/20/2003 had been taken down from Youtube. I tried to re-upload it but got nailed by Youtube.

Now I see the video is still available on a Japanese video site, but I think and I emphasize think, if it was posted on Facebook, they might nail it.

I also wonder if other of her videos may not be available for the same reasons.

The only way to find out for sure is go ahead and try it. Do a few at a time and if you do run into a problem like that, maybe just show some stills of that particular performance, along with the date.

Don't expect to get all, but I think you could still come with a very good site her fans would enjoy.

There is such a site - listing all of Alizée's TV appearances and Music Videos in chronological order - that has been run by a Czech fan for the past 7 or 8 years. It looks like it has fallen out of maintenance but it would be a great project for someone to take over and run with it.

The current address is:

http://vdb.alizee.cz/

I had permission from the original owner of the site to capture the entire site in Adobe Acrobat format (pdf) but when the site changed hands in 2006 I lost that permission. But the original version is still there in my share if you want it.

The clips mentioned on the site are tied only to caps of the performances in question for identification purposes, which means they have avoided the problems of hot linking to Youtube posts. Doing so is only going to leave you with broken links very quickly and possibly your Facebook account closed. Remember -- both Youtube and Facebook are owned by Google and there is no escaping their wrath. There is a long trail of tears in this forum of fans grieving the clips being yanked from Youtube for "no reason."

If you still have your heart set on linking each post to a streaming vid, then I'd suggest you post them in one of the "Youtube-like" sites coming out of mainland China or Southeast Asia where the rules are a bit more... umm... relaxed.

Good luck with this! It would be nice to see gasko's site recharged, updated and re-energized. A lot of the work has been done: it just needs some fresh blood to return it to it's former glory.

I just noticed - well it occurs to me that book @ .22 i'd guess is a chorus book for En Concert . Now that is a very rare item indeed perhaps not even cataloged or seen by many . Only hate to say but i'm pretty sure in that clip you only see her at the piano . I do believe that dancing parts no Jacotey only shown the other 4 girls and choreographer from EC ? ?

Edit:

Facebook is fun and all but like a forum horrible for timeline organization so i'd recommend if you devote the time buy a .com and make your own site . It's not hard to learn at all and not so expensive one can depending on bandwidth use do it for 1-200 per year .

As for " all " her videos , something to consider i believe as we come into the video age . . The speed to transfer data and storage capabilities will make a more video demanding and user friendly world - as in to edit video and watch - more than any of us can imagine simultaneously . So i'd guess in years to come the 10% of what we see will turn into 110 percent once the bootleg ( adding the home video style camera and mobile phone ) videos . These edits we see again of any of her performance videos include 1/10 of what is actually recorded by the always multiple cameras . I believe the Alizeefans will be most demanding when it comes to seeing the cutting room floor footage . Kinda amazing nones leaked out yet . .

oh wait some has leaked out what was i thinking - nickelodeon for instance which isn't cutting room floor so to speak but considering that it's un-released video with no overlays et al . Pretty much bootlegged material from the cutting room floor .

If there is an interest I can share my collection of Matrix's videos that I downloaded from his youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/MatrixFactoryGuy during the period from 2009 to 2013.

That is 74 videos, altogether 1.42 GB.
I can share to some of our most prominent members, such as Scruffy or Ray and the like, and they can then share to others interested.

But please do not upload these videos on Youtube! The reason for this is that the videos are not of high video quality because they are not originals, and if you upload them to youtube their video quality will further reduce.
You can upload them to some video sharing websites, or Hub, or you can just share them using Google Drive, see about that at http://www.gcflearnfree.org/googledriveanddocs/6 -- there it says: "When you share a file with a limited group of people, your collaborators must sign in with a Google account to view or edit the file. However, when you share with a larger group or make the file public, your collaborators will not need a Google account to access the file."
The explanation is in the video also there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7TrFgIfcA8

I'm sorry I missed your question before and I don't know why that link isn't working. I was actually looking for one of my favorite Matrix videos " I'm not crazy" when I saw that other Matrix video. I don't remember the name, but it looks like we will have it in the near future thanks to comjoz

It's one of many songs I've really enjoyed from that show over the years. I'll look up the name.

Scruffydog777
10-23-2015, 06:55 PM
I don't know what happened with Matrix's channel. After so many years, people move on. Could be because of Youtube violations too. There are major violations such as when I tried to upload the first DALS show (episode1) to Youtube. That was a major strike. Three of them and you're out. But there are a lot of minor violations too. Just about every video I've uploaded to Youtube has received a notice that it can't be played in Germnay, I guess because of some music company owning the rights there. It's a relatively minor infraction, but I beleive if you get enough of them, they'll also pull the plug. Still I"m guessing as to what happened with Matrix. Maybe comjoz knows?

Well, over those past years while Matrix still was active Alizee fan he repeatedly changed his username on YouTube. Thus for some time he was Matrix, then Matrix5060 and AJClochette25, etc., and then he would erase his channel. It was giving trouble to everyone who followed his work, who wanted to watch his videos. One fan said to him:

@MatrixFactoryGuy
But your channel is hard to find!! Everytime your account gets deleted, it takes me a while to find you :P I really hope she is watching, because your videos are so nice.

Matrix has explained the reason why he is doing all he does:

Alizee watches fan videos, she surfs youtube and watches fan made videos of her. Sometimes I make a video just to irritate her...to get her attention because I know she is watching YouTube.
My channel and my videos are all created on the assumption she is watching. I would not be here if she wasn't
-------
i've had 7 accounts deleted and restarted.
I delete all my videos after awhile and start over again....if there is a particular video you like I recommend to anyone to download and save it because I always delete my videos after awhile.
It motivates me to keep making videos if I start with nothing...so that is why i delete them. Thanks for commenting
-------
Bonjour Alizée...c'est Matrix. I've been making videos of you on YouTube since 2005 when I first discovered you on the internet.
Several youtube accounts and over 5,000 videos of you later...I am still here because you rock my world!
-------
I get viewers from all over the world asking who I am. I am just an average white guy who grew up in midwest USA playing baseball and eating hotdogs and hamburgers and apple pie and driving Cheverolet cars and trucks.
I did not discover Alizee until around the year 2005 on the Internet. I saw a picture of her and she caught my eye,..she was so beautiful. Since then I have been infatuated with her.
I do not speak french. The only french I have learned has been from Alizee videos. I wish Alizee would give french language lessons on youtube.
I have never met Alizee but I have purchased all her albums. I don't seek an autograph or anything like that. I'm happy having her albums and making videos of her.
All the videos I make of Alizee are video clips I obtained from Alizee fan sites or here on YouTube.
-------
I have downloaded all your songs from your new album Une Enfant du Siecle off the Internet here on YouTube. Someone from Paris, France uploaded the entire album on YouTube. Yes, I grabbed the opportunity and downloaded them but only because I could not wait any longer to hear your songs
Many people say why buy her album if you already have all her songs digitally from the Internet...well, I say this:
Alizée deserves our respect...she gives so much of herself to help other people and sacrifices so much of her time to entertain us...that it just would not be right if we didn't support her and her Universe
I will buy your new album Une Enfant du Siecle Alizée because you are an amazing woman and I want you to go on entertaining us in the future
Sincerely, Matrix

I ran across this today and I didn't know where to post it. I thought it was interesting so I will post it here for the time being. It is about Paris.

The Avenue de l'Opéra, one of the new boulevards created by Napoleon III. The new buildings on the boulevards were required to be all of the same height and same basic facade design, and all faced with cream coloured stone, giving the city center its distinctive harmony.

I remember reading too and I'm not sure in what part of their history it was written, but I read one reason was they built such wide, broad avenues in Paris was so if the they revolted again, the army would have nice wide fields of fire to direct against the populace.

In addition to being fashionable, the wide boulevards made it difficult for rebellious people to build barricades. For both these reasons the Germans copied the Parisian practice in the construction of Berlin. During WWII the Allied bombers were able to create firestorms in the cities with narrow streets, but couldn't firestorm Berlin because the boulevards acted as firebreaks.

That's very interesting Shepherd. I hadn't heard that before. I'm tremendously interested in the history of Europe, especially of the WW1 and 2 period. I've visited so many places concerning that time period; the Somme, Verdun, Berlin, Potsdam, Prague, Oradour-sur-Glane, Lidice, Majdenek, St Nazaire, Dieppe, Krakow, but I hadn't heard that before. I was looking at some of the new young singers and comparing them with 15-year old Alizee. Of course I'm biased, but Alizee appears to win hands down. The most serious challenger in my opinion is Angela Vazquez:

Well of course we're biased, but I think if you had asked people who had never seen any of these singers including Alizée, who was the best, I think the voting would be fairly even. She has a smile that could melt the heart of the toughest man but that wasn't evident in this performance. Her dancing too is another thing that sets her apart not to mention her on stage presence. Plus a huge factor for me at least was the music and lyrics of MF and LB. I think a better video to have shown for Alizée would have been Moi Lolita in Amsterdam. She had such great poise and charm; the little waves to the crowd, not to mention her dancing. That's the dance I would have liked to have been used as a comparison; of course she was 16 then, but I wonder if the others had anything that would even have come close and Alizée did not have to have the revealing outfit on to be a sensation.

Of course what's happening here is we were unwrapping the 60 cds I paid for. Notice the knap sack beside me. A little while later the Virgin Megastoe manager came down to get us. The first thing he asked was where is the receipt? I was sure I put it in the knap sack, but I couldn't find it. I checked all my pockets, then I thought maybe I threw it away with the wrappings. I went across the room to the small trash can I put the wrappers in came up empty. I turned around and everyone was gone. A moment of dread set in. I flew upstairs and after a couple of minutes, found them. I found the receipt later in one of the numerous pockets of the knap sack.

We then went on a long journey through hall ways up one set of stairs, down another, back up again It reminded me of the video of making of J'en ai marre and I get deja vu watching it.

Aaron is the one with his back to us. I believe he was 14 at the time. His father was on sabbatical at the time. Neil if I remember right is the gentleman on the left. Him and his girlfriend were from Wyoming and they had been teaching in France for a couple of years. He had been at En Concert and the young man next to me is FerAunger, his forum name. He was from Mexico, but was attending college in Paris I think at the time.

I didn't want to go in there with just blue jeans and a t shirt. I have a tremendous amount of respect for her and so I wanted to dress accordingly without over doing it, so I had that shirt made up locally. Hopefully maybe I'll get to use it one more time.

Maaan that takes me back! I had been a fan since January of 2009 and had been marinating so to speak, in everything Gourmandises, MCE and Psych, and the release of UEDS was the first I was around for. It was so exciting that on top of that, we received the miracle of Scruffy and the big private signing!! I got to put my name on the letter; I snow-shoveled my butt off to be able to buy the deluxe collector's edition of the album; and there was even the Technikart magazine she was in!!! Unforgettable days.

You are right that his name is Mark. You should've bet me money on it because I would've sworn up and down it was Neil and his forum name like you said is Backinblack.

If I ever get caught up after vacation, I'll post some of the e-mails that went back and forth so people can see how it all went down.

I think most of you know this about the autograph session but just in case there is someone who doesn't, here's how it went down. Luckily I work for an airline so I get pretty good travel benefits. I had gone to the autograph session in 2007 or was it 8 and stood in line and had some cds signed. I planed on going to the one in 2010. I thought I'd ask in the forum if anyone would like me to get them an autographed cd, knowing in the back of my head that could get out of control and it did to a mild point. The list quickly grew to near 50 so I put a limit on it of 50.

Well I had never cared to go to an autograph session before and had no idea how they are run and someone pointed out it might not be a good idea to walk up to the autograph table and plunk down 50 cds to get autographed. If Alizée didn't kill me, the people in the line behind me probably would. So while we were mulling around how to figure this out, FanDeAlifee I think his name was had sent an e-mail to the Virgin Megastore where the event was taking place and Ben received a response to the message.

I'm also trying to find the message that was sent to the Virgin Megastore. I left the contact info up because that store is no more.

Well the ambassador title stems from that original letter to the Virgin Megastore by FanDeAliFee which I'm still looking for.

Being chosen as a representative of this forum, I wanted to do a good job of it and make a good impression on them. I remembered one picture I saw during that era that really influenced the way I felt about that. It was of Roman at one of the Les Enfoires shows. It showed him in the crowd dressed in a wrinkly t shirt and jeans and I thought this is not the way I want to represent this forum or our country.

In my naivite at the time, I didn't realize the ordeal Roman and other fans went through when they went to these shows where they had to get there about 10 hours in advance and had to wait out in the freezing cold, then swelter inside.

But it worked out well. I designed what went on that pullover and picked out the pullover and for someone who's not very fashion savvy, I think it came out as well as I could've hope for.

Getting back to the actual meeting. I had told before how my video camera had died before the event, so I borrowed one from my brother. To conserve space, I put it in my back pack. I think in the trip over, there is a lever that controls the zoom in and zoom out, that is spring loaded to center, that must've been being pushed upon on the trip over. The result being when I set it up at the autograph session, it kept zooming in by itself.

Well I've spoke of the arrival at the store and meeting the other members. I purchased the cds and we went downstairs to unwrap them. We then met the manager of the store. He asked to see the receipt. My back pack had about 20 different compartments in it. I couldn't find it. Then I thought maybe I threw it out with the wrappers? I went to look in the trash can and it wasn't there. I turned around and everyone was gone in a packed store. I thought everyone but me will be at the autograph session! I ran upstairs and after a few minutes of panic, found them.

We then went on this long walk following the manager which was just like the video of the making of JAM; up and down stairs, through hall ways then we finally came to "the" room. They had the camera lights on so she stood out like a star in the evening sky. It was a surreal moment. The way she was lit up. This incredibly beautiful woman who had meant so much to me and for so long had been so far away, was now right in front of me. We all shook hands with her and there I was face to face with her in a moment that passed too quickly.

So we got to the business of getting the cds autographed. I sat down, brought out the letter. I set up my video camera and was also taking some pictures. I soon noticed the problem with the video camera zooming in on it's own and I straightened it out a couple of times before realizing what was happening.

I was so wrapped up in everything else, I was losing track of the moment. It's then when the woman who was with the filming crew, started asking me questions. That brought me back to reality. Made me again realize "she" was right across the table from me and it was a very emotional moment and in what seemed like no time, it was all over. It was an incredible experience.

I've talked to Rob over the phone several times over the past few years and consider him a friend. Back around the time he got banned, there used to be a lot of battles in here. What got him banned is a member insulted his girlfriend and then he threatened that members life and that's something that can't be allowed. Over the years, he's been very defensive of Alizée, maybe too defensive which is understandable because she changed his life from what was a life of despair but again too defensive for a site that allows comments that are pro and con.

For newer members who may not realize what was going on during this performance;

The occasion for this performance was the 100th running of the Tour de France and several artists performed here over the course of the day. The location was Hotel de Ville (city hall).
There was some sector of the entertainment industry that was on strike and they were protesting at this event (what I don't know). You can see them holding up pamphlets and hear them booing. I'm sure Alizée knew little or nothing about what was going on.

A partial list Alizée's concert schedule frorm 2003. The En Concert tour consisted of 42 shows. She wasn't able to perform a full show in Le Havre.

From AF archives; " At the concert in Le Havre yesterday evening, some unexpected things happened. It all started with an 30 minutes coming late on stage. The reason for that was that Alizée had something like an influenza. That's why she was a bit weak. The pauses where she changed her outfits were much longer than in any other concert before (she only changed outfits 2 times) and she didn't even sing Tempête, J'ai pas vingt ans and Youpidou. When she said to the audience that she was ill and that she could not do the whole show she started crying. Her crew on stage came to console her.
From this article;

"Alizée is not yet 16 when Moi ... Lolita is born. From her meeting with Mylene Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat born Gourmandises. Two years, four million records sold and rewards later. Alizée goes on tour with her latest single, J'ai pas vingt ans, and her second album, Mes Courants électriques."

I suggest everyone watch it on youtube fullscreen and click there a button to see it in HD quality, and also click at the subtitles button because there are English subs you can see on the video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4L0p5HBlaHY

By the way, here is the text of the subs:
Does anyone know how to make a subtitle file from this text?
Or somebody already has a subtitle file of this text?

00:02
- If we talk about Michel Berger, we have to talk about France Gall which is what Alizée proposed to do.
00:06
A - Yes.
00:07
- By the way, you've once been in a TV show with France Gall haven't you?
00:11
A - Well, the very first time I met France Gall it was in her home in Saint Tropez three years ago,
00:16
It was quite a special moment for me and...
00:19
- For what purpose?
00:20
A - Actually it's because I was in a TV Show in St Tropez, we had a common friend there who wanted to make me a surprise by introducing me to France Gall.
00:27
I had just released my 4th album at that time, and it was an occasion to let her listen to it and discuss it.
00:32
A great moment for me because I have always admired France Gall.
00:34
- So she gave you a few advices?
00:37
A - Mm, let's see, first of all, about my voice, because even though that I've been singing for more than 13 years I don't feel it was that long.
00:43
But for example she told me that when she sang Michel Berger's songs she was always too high pitched...
00:52
So she told me to be really careful about that...
00:55
- So now you're carefully choosing your pitch, right?
00:57
A - I'm trying, yes.
00:58
- Did she tell you to 'resist' as well?
01:01
- 'Résiste' performed by Alizée!
02:33
- Thank you Alizée!
02:35
Alizée, who's releasing a fifth album entitled '5' ... a very good number.
02:40
A - That's what people say!
02:42
- So it's an album that really takes its inspiration in the 1960's, with France Gall ...
02:46
A - Yes, inspired by the early years of France Gall and her hits 'Poupée de Cire', 'Laisse Tomber Les Filles'.
02:53
But not only France Gall, Francoise Hardy as well... but I really wanted to make a modern album of pop music at the same time.
03:06
- Alizée, you chose to sing for us the song Ella Elle L'a, as a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald. A song that was written by Michel Berger.
03:13
A - Yes a wonderful song, that I sang not so long ago... well in 2003 on a tv show with you.
03:20
- Absolutely! We're listening to you.

A - Actually it's because I was in a TV Show in St Tropez, we had a common
friend there who wanted to make me a surprise by introducing me to France Gall

8
00:00:27,365 --> 00:00:31,365
I had just released my 4th album at that time , and it was
an occasion to let her listen to it and discuss it.

9
00:00:32,000 --> 00:00:34,000
A great moment for me because I have always admired France Gall.

10
00:00:34,882 --> 00:00:36,882
- So she gave you a few advices?

11
00:00:37,241 --> 00:00:43,241
A - Mm, let's see, first of all, about my voice, because even though that
i've been singing for more than 13 years I don't feel it was that long

12
00:00:43,665 --> 00:00:50,665
But for example she told me that when she sang Michel
Berger's songs she was always too high pitched...

13
00:00:52,090 --> 00:00:55,090
So she told me to be really careful about that..

14
00:00:55,362 --> 00:00:56,862
- So now you're carefully choosing your pitch , right?

15
00:00:57,111 --> 00:00:58,611
A - I'm trying, yes

16
00:00:58,999 --> 00:00:59,999
- Did she tell you to 'resist' as well?

17
00:01:01,168 --> 00:01:03,168
- 'Résiste' performed by Alizée!

18
00:02:33,876 --> 00:02:34,880
- Thank you Alizée!

19
00:02:35,197 --> 00:02:40,200
Alizée, who's releasing a fifth album entitled '5' .. a very good number.

20
00:02:40,674 --> 00:02:42,670
A - That's what people say!

21
00:02:42,945 --> 00:02:46,440
- So it's an album that really takes its
inspiration in the 1960's, with France Gall ...

22
00:02:46,838 --> 00:02:52,840
A - Yes , inspired from the early years of France Gall and her
hits 'Poupée de Cire' , 'Laisse Tomber Les Filles'

23
00:02:53,337 --> 00:03:03,339
But not only France Gall, Francoise Hardy as well.. but I really
wanted to make a modern album of pop music at the same time.

24
00:03:06,235 --> 00:03:13,240
- Alizée, you chose to sing for us the song Ella Elle L'a , as
a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald . Song that was written by Michel Berger .

25
00:03:13,937 --> 00:03:19,940
A - Yes a wonderful song, that I sang not so long ag.. well
in 2003 . on a tv show with you .

26
00:03:20,607 --> 00:03:26,610
- Absolutely ! We're listening to you.

In messaging, the subject of Stars a Domicile came up, A show where stars surprise their fans, then go to the fans home. Alizée appeared on the show twice; once in 2001 and once in 2003. We had recently discussed this, but because the video link wasn't good any more, I decided to post it anew. This video is from the 2003 show, is one kulli found. It is from Daily Motion and it is the full version lasting about 24 minutes. I don't believe the full video is available on Youtube any more. I'm uploading a version of the 2003 show with English subtitles to my Google drive.

Here is the link to the full video http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2bxbk9

Google drive link to subtitled video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_YYRmAa7rPqoKGalIRkAB6h78oKDA8Ww/view?usp=sharing.

Here are the two letters Jessica wrote. One was about the day Alizee surprised her and when they went to the studio to do the on stage segment of the show. The second letter is of when she went to one of Alizee's concerts, then back stage to meet her afterwards. I saved these letters as jpegs. Doing it this way, if you click on the attached images at the bottom, at various zoom levels, the print will appear clearer than others, so if you have a mouse with a scroll wheel, just zoom in or out until the print appears clear. It is better to just click on the Google drive link I provided to view them all and I believe they will show up more clearly.

Interesting stuff!

I wonder why her website went offline.

People change, but imo she still loves Lili and it still is the best moment in her life. How awesome would it be if she saw this thread and replied?

It would be very interesting to see what Alizee's No1 fan thinks now.

If what you say is true, then she was still a fan/friend till 2007 when Psychedelices was released. So it's not too far fetched to say she still loves her.

Her diary of her meeting with Alizee was so well written, and very intense. It felt like I was there experiencing it first hand.

Thanks for Jessica's letters. I'd never seen them before. I used to wonder how people could go so crazy over a pop star, and then I discovered Alizee. Now, I'm one of those crazy fans.

Alizée performed the song Dis-lui toi que je t'aime (Telll her that I love you) in July of 2010 in Tel Aviv in Israel, during a show that was a tribute to Serge Gainsbourg. He originally wrote the song for Vannesa Paradis.

Serge (2 April 1928 – 2 March 1991) was a French singer, songwriter, pianist, film composer, poet, painter, screenwriter, writer, actor, and director.Regarded as one of the most important figures in he was renowned for his often provocative and scandalous releases

Vanessa had her first major hit in 1985, with which she became internationally famous,"Joe le taxi", in 1987 when she was 14

Dis-lui toi que je t'aime, is Vanessa Paradis's 8th single. It was released in the autumn of 1990 in the second extract of the album Variations on the same love, written by Serge Gainsbourg and composed by Franck Langolff.

She was also in a relationship with Johnny Depp who she had 2 children with.

From a page I found Le Gossip.net from 2014 (https://www.legossip.net/vanessa-paradis-alizee/229351/)

"Alizée appealed to Vanessa Paradis with whom she hopes to work one day in a small statement on "Twitter", a microblogging network where she is very active.

Will pretty Corsican one day duet with the ex-girlfriend of Johnny Depp? Maybe.

Responding to a question from a fan who asked her "what was her love at first sight" and with "what singer" or "singer," she dreamed of making a duet ", the winner of the 4 edition of" Dance with the Stars " , the competition of TF1, answers without hesitation: "Vanessa Paradis.

"I would dream of doing a duet with Vanessa Paradis, an artist I have always admired! Confirmed Mylène Farmer's ex-protégé, still in full promotion of her "Blonde" album, her first collaboration with Pascal Obispo."

That haircut really rocked my world. I have always loved straight hair on Alizee, especially when it flipped up at the shoulders. When she started sporting the curly, at first I had to let it sink in. Then I realized how great it looked on her. I had mentioned in another post that some of the best photos I think she has done had been with the curly hair.

These pictures are from Les Enfoires 2012 in Lyon. RMJ is in one of the pictures along with Fer Aunger who was also at the 2010 private autograph session. He was from Mexico, but going to college in Paris. The guy leaning against the fence is Bern if I remember correctly who was from Germany. I think Jenny was there too. This was the first show. Me and Bern had tickets for the seats that were off to the left side of the stage. The others had tickets for the floor. Me and Bern sat next to one another. He didn't speak a word of English and I didn't speak a word of German. We also met up in Paris the following year.
As it turned out, we were very lucky to get those seats. The next night and for the rest of the week long show, they were reserved for vips or family or freinds of who ever.

We were in the middle of the row. I think Bern felt more comfortable there because he has a small video camera which weren't allowed, not to mention a bottle of anti-freeze if you know what I mean. I saw a seat one row down at the end of the row that I would've like to have taken, but felt it would be impolite to leave Bern.

At some point into the show, we started hearing a commotion some where on the floor down in front of us. Next thing you know, we see Alizee and Mimi coming up the stairs just off to our right and they stopped near the end of our row. If I had taken that empty seat, I would've been right next to her. As it was, she was still only about 6' away.

Now I had borrowed a camera from my brother in law for this trip, because it had a 20x zoom on it. So I was unfamiliar with it. I found out the hard way that all you had to do was accidentaly hit this control on the front and it would knock it down into it's lowest resolution. Of all the many cameras I've had over the years, I never had one like this where you didn't have to hit some type of menu button, scroll dow and select something to change the res, but now at the moment of a lifetime, I had one.

I didn't find out until well after the show. I got a hotel about 2 miles from the concert hall. I had no problem with taking the metro, but the show started at 8 and ran over 4 hours and the metro had shut down and good luck trying to get a cab after a major show gets out. I didn't mind walking, even as cold as it was because I was fueled by the excitment of the great video I thought I had took. I even found a restaurant open and stopped for a pizza. Then I got back to the hotel, watched the video and was crushed. How often does an opportunity like that come along. Six feet away from Alizee. Now Bern had taken a video, but it's the type of camera where in poor lighting, it doesn't record well.

I went to the show the next day with a ticket for the floor. I didn't get in line until noon time, so I didn't meet up with the others. I got near the stage, but off to the right and got some fairly good videos.

Next day I went to Ajaccio. Now everyone was figuring after the last Les Enfoires show which still had a few days to run, Alizee would be going back to Paris to be with family. But it's while I was in Ajaccio that we all find out that Alizee and Jermey had split. I stayed there a couple of extra days in the hope of getting a glimpse of her, but it didn't happen.
Here's my video. I'll try and find Bern's.

This is still very close to her. You were lucky that was the entrance she came out of, and stopped and sang right there! Maybe if you were at the end of the row right next to her, taking a video so close might have been a little awkward for you and for her.

These Les Enfoires events seem quite informal and fun.

Yes it probably would've been a little awkward, but who would pass up such an opportunity to be that close to her while she's singing and just being Alizee, maybe even getting to smell her perfume?

The early shows can be quite interesting because they are doing this for charity and they get there I'm sure with little time to rehears, so there are more moments like this in the early show where there are times where they have to redo and in a lucky moment like this, gives you more time near her, but makes for a very long show. You add to the fact you have all this clothing with you to keep you warm in the long wait outside, then you go inside and swelter.

Here is the camera I used. It's highest res was 640 which you can see in the lower right. So you give that wheel a little push and slight twist which is easy to do when you're just moving the camera around and it knocks it into it's lowest resolution of 160. Like I said it was a borrowed camera. If I was familiar with that characteristic, I would've thought to watch for it.

Yes, that was me. The rotten part of it was I didn't know who she was at the time and never got any photos. My son was making a video of our visit, but he didn't take any pictures of the merry-go-round. Also, it's aggravating because most people don't believe the story. It is fantastic, but it's not surprising that she would explore Central Park and--we are talking about Alizee--she would be attracted to the merry-go-round. And the older woman that was with her, but stood off to the side, I think that must have been her mother.

I blurred out the gentleman's face because I wasn't sure who he was at the time and didn't know if he wanted it published, but after I did, he posted and it was one of our members, un-reve, from years ago.

He said how he was in Ajaccio and he saw Alizée and I think he said she was with her mother and Alizée was gracious enough to pose for a picture with him. It's too bad there was so much glare to it. Maybe Ray who is good with pictures can do something about it.

But this is just seeing her on the street in her regular clothes and look how beautiful she looks.

Un-reve rejoined us for a while and now drops in occasionally

This was in front of the Chez-Paulo restaurant which I've mentioned several times.

I'm not sure how old she was at the time and I'm not sure if he mentioned what year it was, but I'm guessing she's 18?

I dined there twice. From what Blanche told me Alizée would dine there and she said she knew her mother too.

I had posted this picture in another thread that makes it look like she was well known there, which could just be because she was a star at that point, but in that part of Ajaccio, that seems to be the area where people go to meet and talk. I heard when they have fashion shows on Rue Fesch which is just around the corner, they use Chez Paulo's to change. I think I have a video of the area if I can find it.

While looking for the other video, I came across this video where she had performed on September of 2000 wearing the same top. So it gives a very rough time line of when that picture was taken. There was no video of the event as far as I know.

The picture of Alizee that you posted messed with my eyes. I knew it was her, but I kept doing double takes because her hair blended in with what appears to be black paint on the painting behind her. Or maybe it's a shadow. The result is that her hair looks long and bushy at the shoulders, which did not match the hair style she had when she was this age, as shown in the video.

Well back in 2008 she had concerts in Mexico, in fact one in Moscow before that, but she had I think it was 5 concerts originally scheduled in Europe, but that was whittled down to 1 in Paris, after the Mexico concerts. That was cancelled, rescheduled and cancelled again. I had tickets for it.

It was said her success in Mexico that due to the fact that only in the past few years thanks to Youtube that they had discovered her, so images of Moi Lolita and J'en ai marre were still fresh in their heads.

But quite frankly, when she came back to Europe, they were well aware of what she was capable of wanted no part of what she was offering. It was lacking in every department. You have to remember when you schedule a concert in Paris, all the best talents like Madonna, Lady Gaga, U2, Beyonce, Taylor Swift perform in Paris. You have to bring your A game and quite frankly what Alizee brought was amateurville when compared not only to all the great artists, but her own En Concerts of 2003/2004.

She had 3 other albums after that and there was talk of tours, but I don't think any thing was ever scheduled because of those albums lack of success. I think Blonde had potential, but who ever was in charge, didn't know what they were doing.

So only if the miracle of another good album happens along with someone who knows how to manage the promotion of it, the odds of seeing another concert aren't looking good.

The mood in France definitely changed toward her. This girl was the darling of France. How can you go from the rousing, thunderous cheering of the 2000 M6 awards to not being able to sell one show in your home country two albums later? Psyche wasn't her best album, but it wasn't her worst, and lots of people liked it a lot. You would think there would be enough fans still around to want to check out the new Alizee. Maybe with the album she should have hit the reset button as far as expectations and played in small venues and worked her way back up.

Well if you had two theaters in Paris on opposite sides of the street with 2 different concerts going on and you didn't know who the singer was, but you saw these images, top picture on one theater, second picture on other theater, which theater would you go into?

She often would look sensational in Mexico, except during her concerts., in my opinion and the same was true for Blonde. She often looked sensational off stage, but not during her promotions

The bottom 2 pictures were from Mexico. One was from an interview and one was from a show (not concert) where she sang J'en ai marre, where she looked just about as great as she did in the white dress in En Concert. Why couldn't she have chosen outfits like this for her concerts there? I would have loved to have seen her in that bottom outfit.

Then you had the decision to bring a big arm chair on stage. This was the woman who set the world on fire with the JAM, JPVA, ML and Youp dances. Did she really expect to come back to Paris and sell tickets? I'm sure she wanted to get away from the sexiness of those early years, but an arm chair. Who's call was that?

Who ever it was who made the decisions as far as the outfits and the chair, should have been sent to Saint Helena and not allowed to come back until they've learned 'something' about what the public wants to see.

I said in a recent post that after those Mexico concerts, the people of Paris knew what she was capable of, then saw what went on in Mexico and wanted no part of it.

The second image you posted, with her in the white dress, was probably my favorite concert outfit she had. She looked dazzling in it. Sexy but not trashy and over-revealing.

The armchair maybe was a spin-off of the iconic high heel shoe she used to sing songs sitting on? Like an extremely low budget spin-off. You are right in that who wants to see a concert where the entertainer sits in a chair?

When she came out of hiding and released Psyche, her figure was probably the best she had in her life. Everybody has seen her pregnancy photos, and she gained a significant amount of weight. In just a few years, you can tell she worked extremely hard to lose that pregnancy weight and a few pounds more, and to tone herself up.

So with that said, why hide on stage what she worked so hard to attain? Overly possessive and jealous husband perhaps? I personally do not think anything she wore during the Mylene days was trashy, but sometimes suggestive. They became perhaps inappropriate when coupled with the lyrics to the songs she sang. But the outfits themselves... she had beautiful legs, why not show them off a little? This is not the middle east.

I don't find these concert outfits by Shy'm trashy at all. She is beautiful and has a great figure.

Somebody said somewhere (can't remember where now) that Alizee would look great in a potato sack. While this might be true, I am glad she didn't try to do a concert in one ;)

Alizee has beauty like royalty and she has shown good taste in what she wears in public.

I really don't like being critical about her in this way, because it's very possible that I might see her again in a trip to Ajaccio or there's a possibility I might go to a Tournee show next year or if you believe in miracles, another Les Enfoires show (dare I say concert?). I'd rather she'd think me in a good light and there are people I've met in Ajaccio that might not be so pleasant to me next time I go there and I certainly don't want that.

But I feel it's more important to speak the truth. If by some miracle she does opt for another album, unless it's an album with a lot of great songs on it, she'll need everything going for her, including how she looks during her promotions and if there's concerts, on stage.

Even with the Tournee that's still going on, we see she still has killer looks. She needs to use them to her advantage if it's not too late.

On another note, one thing you have to realize about the red shoe is it was designed by Mylene Farmer, the master of the double entendre.

Anybody that reads more than a handful of your posts would know that you truly adore and care for Alizee, and flat out love the woman. For every post where you might be critical, you post 20x or more just the opposite.

From Alizee's eyes, I think she would be suspicious of fans that would hold that she could do no wrong. She would be the first one, even through her stubbornness, to admit that she would do lots of things differently if she could turn back the clock 13 years. We wouldn't be any different. Maybe she had wished that she had some friends in her life in the past that would have called her out on some of the decisions she made.

She does still have killer looks, and the way that she has thus far aged gracefully, there is absolutely nothing wrong with her using it. She is still in her prime.

The pajama look would go perfectly with shoegaze music, don't you think? :D

I think the contrast of outfits here is interesting. Dancer's outfits don't leave much to the imagination, and Alizee dressing a little too conservative for the performance in my opinion.

Yes shoegaze singers would be perfect in pajamas. Alizee is dreamy, so it would be double-y appropriate. (Shoegaze is also referred to as dreampop)

It does seem like she was holding back there. Alizee is usually more scantily clad.

Thanks to Scruffy for the video of Alizee’s interview. Immediately following that interview, which I watched on YouTube, another of Alizee’s interviews from 2001 automatically popped up that was really interesting.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laskamrS2iI

Alizee talked about how much she loves to dance, of having arguments with her boyfriend, mentioned that Mylene Farmer has a twin sister (I didn’t know that). She discussed her groupies and mentioned that her parents never had to make her do her homework because she is very self-motivated. Self-motivation in children is a sign of exceptional intelligence. She “suggested” that she was not to discuss Mylene in public.

During the filming of one of her videos, a bee stung her in the eye and she had an allergic reaction. She described her first Les Enfoires. After saying she didn’t like Hip-Hop music, they played a tune she selected of Lil Bow Wow singing a Hip Hop tune, “That’s My Name.” (Go figure).

She said she loves her name, Alizee, (So do I). She spoke of her fondness for Garou and they played one of his tunes that she selected.

Alizee said she is “passionate” about data processing!!! (Ok) Her father is a computer scientist. She discussed how important it was for a girl to be attractive in the entertainment business. And finally, she discussed how much she loves Ajaccio.

I have watched these before a while back, but I watched them again because I always pick out something new in interviews the second time around (and third and fourth, etc.)

I have known before that Mylene is referred to as Alizee's "godmother", but seeing it again in this video made me think about this a little bit. I grew up in the Orthodox church, and they, along with Catholics, have godfathers and godmothers, and they are usually part of the baptism ceremony. Mine were relatives, but not sure what the Catholic "rules" are regarding who can be godparents or not. I would assume that Alizee, being Catholic, would have a godmother who was also Catholic, but I think that Mylene is Jewish. Being named as the godmother would also imply that Mylene was close to Alizee's parents, if it occurred at the baptism ceremony.

Maybe referring to Mylene as her godmother is nothing more than a term of endearment and has no ties to the church.

Thoughts anyone?

I have seen Alizée referred to as the 'marraine' of various events, festivals and fundraisers so I think there is an alternate meaning for the phrase in France. In those cases it seems to me to be an honorary title and with Mylene I would bet it's not used in a religious sense.

Of course when there are some women performers who have been as sexy as Alizée has been at times, there are other women who have a problem with that. I think it was several years ago. I had completely forgotten about this one. It's nice to be reminded. Alizee's English pronunciation is pretty good, but has a slight French accent I find charming.

Here's another we discussed several years ago. Alizee sings one of Garou's iconic songs. In the middle of the song, Garou takes up his mike and tenses to jump in, but Alizee doesn't stop to let him in and, not wanting to step on her lyrics, he swallows the song. I wondered if they had practiced and Alizee forgot or if they hadn't practiced and no one mentioned to her that Garou was going to join in. If Garou had joined in, his deep, strong voice might have blown her whisp of a voice away.

I have watched this video quite a bit. I heard that the story was that Garou decided to "stand down" on his own accord because he did not want to interrupt Alizee, since she was singing it beautifully. She does pause and look at Garou when he was supposed to join at 1:28, and he is trying to tell the band something, like he is waving them off. After a second or two, she continues on.

This scenario or that she didn't let him jump in seems equally as plausible.

She gives the sweetest Merci at 2:37. It is one of my favorite videos of her.

He was all set to join in at that 1:28 mark, but I think it was a case of the host of the show or maybe the director waved him off and you can see him mouth something which is probably 'okay' (maybe in French?).

Thanks to Rev for digging this old video out and to Scruffy for the translation. I always wondered if Alizee suffered stage fright. She always appears confident and relaxed in her performances. In the contest when she was only 15, she looked like an old pro on stage, not a nervous fiber in her. Yet she tells us she was a wreck.

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I'll post it here. A few weeks ago we were talking about different ways of making fan videos and we discussed syncing music with the movement or the singing in one video with the video of another. At the time I meant to bring up a couple of my other videos The songs were both from Alizee's blond album.

The first one was K.O. I liked the song, but Alizee didn't perform it, so I decided to try and put together a video using clips from other videos. I tried this with Coeur deja pris and the results were disappointing. Where it was a slow song, I only had a few songs to work with so I had to use scenes where she wore different outfits and it just didn't work out well. But with K.O., there were more songs with a faster pace that worked perfectly with this song. I think it came out very well and now I have a video I enjoy watching, when I want to hear the song.

So the success with that song, gave me the idea to try it with Alcaline. I wasn't thrilled with the outfits she wore when she performed it, so I decided to see what it would be like to do the same thing with this song. Again I was surprised at how well things went and I have another video I really enjoy watching. One of the things that most pleased me was not just the syncing the voice with the video, but also the action in the video also went well with what was going on in the song.

Another hard part was the interpretation. There were several interpretations out there, but none really fit what was going on in these songs and I spent a long time trying to figure it out because a direct interpretation often doesn't really fit the story, and I had to work out what the writer wanted the story to tell.

I have to add that Ray was a big help with this. I'd do some work on it and send it to him to view it and he'd often point out mistakes. It made for a much better video.

These videos with their translations are a tremendous pleasure for me. They bring out so much of Alizee's character. You can tell, she is focused on the people around her, and she makes an effort to please them. I suspect a large part of her education came from conversing and associating with people in a manner we see in these films. Her formal education is limited to high school, but her life's education is something most of us could envy. We owe her parents a great debt, not only for bringing her into this world but for shaping her character. I think it was Clevercowboy who once commented on AA that although Alizee is beautiful and sexually attractive, he doesn't think of her in a sexual manner. I think of her in the same way. It's her personality that is her most outstanding beauty.

Shepherd, yes it was me.

Alizee redefined the word Sexy to me. She is like the definition of it to me, and it doesn't mean anything physical. I would rather watch a video of her sing and dance fully clothed a hundred times more than a Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition photo shoot in person. If Alizee wears a short dress and shows her legs, I can appreciate that too because she has sexy legs. If she just sits and does an interview, and I can watch her facial expressions and the way her lips move when she talks, that is sexy too. She has never been ashamed of her femininity in this day and age of women wanting to become more masculine, and I adore that about her and find it sexy.

The best way I can put it is that I look at her like a piece of art. I have also used the phrase precious gem. And I appreciate her beauty the same as she is today, or at 25, 20, or 16 years old. People that don't "get it" might throw some names at me like they do in YouTube comments. There might be an older gentlemen leaving a post of admiration, and some troll would throw the "P" word at him. It would be laughable if it weren't for the fact that they are posting this forever in cyberspace.

I have to admit that I did not delve too far into Alizee's personality for much of my days as a fan. I was a little afraid of what I might learn, since most celebrities, especially in the music industry lead, lives that are very disappointing to me. When I decided to go for it with Alizee, her core values were so appealing to me that her mistakes that she has made, which were many (but not as much as mine!), were much easier to overlook and made her more real and lovable. She'll get older with the rest of us and looks will fade with the rest of us, but she will continue to define Sexy because of the person she is.

By the way, even though I don't look at her in a sexual manner, I would NOT say no to giving her a long bear hug and kissing her on both cheeks! :D

It's a tragedy that Alizee's mother didn't mass produce her so there would be enough Alizees to go around for everyone, but I guess her mother wasn't up for that.

Does anyone know the name of Alizee's mother? I know her father's name is Jo, and he's a cool guy, but aside from a rare photo, I don't recall any mention of Alizee's mother. She stays pretty much out of the limelight. Perhaps that's where Alizee got her shyness.

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/640x480q90/923/FaUjBb.jpg

It's not just a Colt hat, but a Colt hat with the M16A2, one of those dreaded "assault" rifles.

If I had a chance to do one activity with Alizee, it would be (keep your mind clean guys) to go target shooting with her, if the hat implies that she might do that kind of thing.

Back in 2008, I went on a 20th anniversary vacation with my now ex-wife to Cibilo Creek Ranch, way down in Big Bend country in Texas. Literally in the middle of nowhere and fairly close to Mexico border. (Yes, it is where Supreme Court Justice Scalia died). They have guests from around the world and dinner is served in a commons area where you are seated at large tables with other guests, on purpose. One night we sat next to a French couple, and quickly befriended them. The guy was named Cedric and spoke very good English. He was an IT guy at Apple in Paris, so we had a lot in common right from the start. His new wife was a very petite woman and did not speak any English, but smiled a lot and seemed very intrigued by the way we spoke, which had a twang (moreso my ex). She was pretty short, and might not have been as tall as Alizee even.

In the following days, we did some activities with them. One being some horseback riding. We also tried some skeet shooting one day. Me and my ex lived on a ranch, so we shot all the time. Cedric had shot guns in his life but not recently. He was excited to try again. (I had brought three shotguns from home since they allowed you to bring your own guns). His wife never shot a gun and was obviously scared of what was going to transpire. So she watched a while in the background. She had ear protection but still holding her hands over the muffs. Every now and then we would offer for her to try, and she shook her head no. Cedric somehow during a break convinced her to try.. just one shot. We gave her the shotgun my ex used since it was pretty light and a 20 gauge. The clay flew and she closed her eyes and shot... just air. She wanted to try again. Then again and again. (I've seen this many times before). More instruction on aiming and how to lead the target. Then... she finally hit the clay! :D It was priceless how excited she was! She was rattling off French to Cedric. Not sure what she was saying, but it was all good.

The moral of the story is - the difference between a gun opponent and an advocate is being able to hit a clay target..:13:

I glad it didn't say AR15 on it. Liberals would be all over her nowadays for it even though the M16 is a more potent weapon because of it's fully auto feature.

Yep. The AR15 is essentially the civilian version of the M16. The M16 has been widely adopted by militaries around the world.. probably even France.

I'm sure most of us remember the first M6 awards Alizee was at where she was overwhelmed by winning her first major music award, as well as by the size of the crowd, yelling and cheering for her as she won the 'French Revelation of the Year' award.

This picture of a magazine article apparently came out before the show.

One of the hosts of the show is Tina Arena who we saw with Alizee on SAGA, not to mention some Les Enfoires shows.

Mylene Farmer I guess won an award to and at the 5:10 mark, she mentions Alizee.

Unfortunatlely, I couldn't find a Youtube videos of both these moments with English subtitles.

That is a nice one. It was done by 'Mister Change' and that seems to be his forte. He's done the same thing for a number of celebrities.

Edit:

This is Alizée's performance of J'ai Pas Vingt Ans at the Eiffel Tower in July of 2003. The occasion was the celebration of the installation of strobe lights on the Eiffel tower that they turn on for a few minutes at the top of each hour at night.

In the original video, the host asks several questions of Alizee and there are some beautiful views of her during this, not to mention in the performance, but let's say when I'm travelling, I put together a play list of her videos and with that, I don't want to watch the whole video, so I took those scenes from the interview and put them into the performance.

Actually there were a few of these videos they did on certain shows about amusing things that happened behind the scenes. I think most of them are in the 9 DALS videos I did.

I had to download this as well. I have provisioned a 3Tb external hard drive for Alizee related media only. I have already filled more than half up! :D Plenty of more space though.

I cannot see her in anything other than comedies. She has a lot of great facial expressions that a good writer can take advantage of.

This is a copy of a post from 2011 where Un-rêve speaks of his experience of being at an En Concert show at the Zenith theater in Paris back in 2003 I believe it was.

"Memories from Le Zénith.. Alizée and I...

I shared a couple of memories from the OLympia concert a while ago and now I would like to share a couple more memories from before and after the LE Zenith concert. It was a great day!

Well first of all I remember Alizée arrived and left the Le Zenith with her manager Olivier in a mini cooper! When she arrived she was wearing the same Beret that she wore in some of those scenes from The Passengers featurette and I remember it so well because she looked so cute in it!

Well she was mobbed by many fans but afterwards her manager Olivier drove through the gate and past the fence. That's when she stepped out of the car and she was radiant as ever and well as soon as I saw her I shouted out to her " ALIZEE TOI MAGNIFIQUE!!! "

I know my french was pretty bad but nonetheless she still turned around and smiled and waved to me. Well she smiled and waved to us all! It was beautiful and she was beautiful! After a few seconds or so though she was ushered through the back doors to the concert hall to get ready for the show.

I was in seventh heaven by then though and I couldn't wait to see her again but there was still a good hour left before the show and I had to get back to my hotel for my ticket! Anyway I remember that walk back to the hotel so well because after seeing Alizée's smile once again everything seemed so clear.. even the sky was more beautiful than I had ever seen before. Well I can't really explain it but it was magical!

Well the concert itself was as wonderful as the first one even if I didn't get to touch her hand 3 times this time round like I did at the Olympia. Well
I've already shared those experiences from the Olympia but this is about what happened after the Le Zenith concert and it was something wonderful!

I never had a pass to meet Alizée backstage but I did wait for her at the back of the venue with many other fans right up until the very end! Contrary to what Mayhem once wrote in his report over at AF though, Alizée eventually came out with her manager Olivier in a mini cooper!

This is what I really want to share though, because she finally came out with her manager and he drove past very slow. The amazing thing was that the sunroof of the car was open though and Alizée was standing up waving and smiling to us through it! It was wonderful but subsequently Olivier drove over my foot as the car was turning but that was my fault for getting too close.

Anyway I didn't care about that because my mind was set on Alizée anyway.. I just cared about her and as the car drove off I ran after her!
Haha.. I remember it so well because when I caught up with her she was shouting out Wooohhhhh!!!!!!!!!

She was on top of the world though.. she was even punching her arm out in the air! Haha well as I caught up with her I started shouting out Wooohhhhh too and as I did she turned to me and laughed.. it was the sweetest laugh that I ever heard!

Well I don't think she could believe I was running beside her and well I couldn't believe it either! I saw her eye's light up and sparkle too and that was beautiful to me aswell because she was so full of joy! She was on top of the world and so was I and my god those were some of the most wonderful moments of my life!

I just had to say something to her though and that's when it came out. I never even planned it though and I was just going on emotion but that's when I said to her " Ohhhhh you're an amazing girl Alizée!!! "

I really meant it though and I know she appreciated it because what happened next was wonderful! I couldn't believe it but she gave me the most beautiful smile and it was more beautiful than any smile I had ever seen before.. it was heaven!

I still didn't want it to end there though so I asked " may I shake you're hand Alizée " I don't think she understood me at first though and she looked at me kinda vague yet so sweet! So I asked her again and Ohhhh my that's when she smiled down at me again and reached out her hand. I couldn't believe it but I took hold of her hand. Haha it was like being on a rollercoaster with her! Anyway as all good things must come to an end that's when some security guard came running out of nowhere and shouted out noooooo or something like that!

Anyway I knew I had to let her go eventually but it was a wonderful experience and so much so that even after all these years I still find myself holding on to her beautiful hand! "

Thanks Rev. I got the music from when I was in Nice on vacation. The carnival there was going on for several days. I had been to it the night before. The next morning, I had just left my hotel and was heading for the train station to do a day trip up north when I heard this song playing. So the carnival area is separated by a fence so you have to pay to get into the carnival area. I had heard this song for the first time a few months before that and really enjoyed it. So when I heard it that morning, on the way to the train station, I stopped and stuck my camera in between the sections of the fence and caught a young Alizee protege.

I will also look into whether it's worth translating. Many of her early interviews were just a rehash of other interviews where the same questions were asked each time, but if I see an interview that I think is worth translating, I will find a way to get it translated.

I quickly put together some of what I thought were 'moments' that have stood out to me over her career. I first have to mention that I left out her performances of J'en ai marre and Moi Lolita and Gourmandises too, which were great from begining to end. I think more so her performance of Moi Lolita in Amsterdam. She was only 16 at the time and she she showed such poise in front of this large crowd in another country. I think one of the reasons she did so well here was the crowd was into her and she feeds off the crowd.

But to get to my picks and theres so many more I could have added.

The first five clips are where I thought her beauty stood out.

The next 5 are moments where learned things about her personality and I think this is one of the reasons I've followed her so long.

The next 4 are where her voice really impressed me.

The next 2 are a couple of her dances I really enjoyed.

The last is a very short moment but it was an incredibly sexy swaying of the hips.

Yesterday in chat we were talking about the time back in 2007 at the autograph session in Paris for the Psych album and Roman, a fan from California showed Alizée the tattoo on his back of Alizee with Tinkerbell wings. Here are a couple of pictures of it and the letter Roman wrote about the experience...

Well, I don't know if I can do a travel log like Cooney. Maybe later.

Yes, taking those flights and trains back and forth is rather grueling. CFHollister and I met Snatcher42 at a train station on Sunday and we ended up going to l'Arc de Triomphe early, getting some food and eventually checked out the store when it opened at noon. I don't really remember all those details. Like Cooney said, we met him and the others at the hotel eventually.

Skip forward to the next day. Three of us were there a little before 10am before the store opened. It's a really cool store, by the way. There were a few people in line and yes, there was a bit of a rush to get to the Alizée display. I had originally thought we would probably only be allowed one signature and I was torn as to whether or not to get the LP (vinyle) or the CD pack. I knew I'd have to carry that all the way back home on the airplane. I decided on the CD pack, but eventually I realized that I was going to end up getting the LP sometime during the day, so I might as well get it immediately. So I did.

Anyway, at some point I left the store to go back to the hotel with RMJ so that I could drop off some of the excessive stuff that I had in a backpack and he had some things to do too. I was not able to just sit down somewhere, so that bag got heavy. That was really the only time I left. Fortunately I had brought snacks. Well, it was quite exhausting waiting all day like that and being put near the entrance eventually where it was colder. Unfortunately I had left my warmer clothing at the hotel because I though we were going to be in the store the whole time. I'll admit, I think some of my problem was that I was nervous. It didn't help that at some point the other guys got a little spooked about me planning to show Alizée my tattoo and started telling me that I should tell the guards that I had it just so that they would know what I was doing when I went to pull my shirt up. I did tell the two guards closest to her, though I think they were just confused as to why I would tell them that. They probably though I was boasting or something. No. I just didn't want to be tackled. So, that suggestion which had not occurred to me before probably just made me that much more nervous. If Alizée ever thought she was timide, she should meet me. Oh, yeah, she did! I think there's something wrong with my brain chemistry. Good thing I've learned to ignore it enough to do certain things.

Anyway, as soon as Alizée showed up, all concerns and pain were gone in an instant. There's no attention left for that when Alizée is there. When my turn came up I said some things. It's kind of a blur. I didn't say anything I had thought to say: «Tu as changée les vies de beaucoup personnes tout autour du monde, comme moi. Tu m'a inspiré venir ici pour tu remercie.» or something like that. Doesn't help that I'm still not sure how correct that is, in spite of some help from the guys. So, "You have changed the lives of many people all around the world, like me. You have inspired me to come here to thank you.»
I think I actually said something like, Bon soir. Je suis un grand fan. Un cadeau pour toi. (and handed her a painting of tinkerbell that said "Pixies Rock" also painted by the tattoo artist) I think I probably then just said something like, "le même artiste the same artist", and then just turned around and showed her my tattoo.

You want to know her reaction from me!? My back was turned! I kind of got some of her reaction when I turned back around. She then called out, papa! and gestured for her father to come over and take a picture. Wow! What an honor I felt that she would call her father to come take a picture of me. Though, of course, he was there to take pictures. So, I showed him the tattoo trying to stand to give a good picture. Then they wanted to take the picture with Alizée in the picture - a pose someone else had already gotten, only of their face. I should have turned and tried to get a picture like that with Alizée. I mean, my back, that's cool, but what about my face? Doh! That's something I might like to frame and put up somewhere. Anyway, after that last time, I noticed the people at the front of the crowd yelling and gesturing, obviously that they wanted to see it. Well, of course they want to see what got such a reaction. So, when I turned around toward Alizée again, I left my shirt up for a moment. Alizée asked me where I was from and I had to be a lame ass and say something like, what's that? Then she asked me in English. I said California. She asked me my name, which I sort of half pronounced like the French would. Anyway, she got it and wrote the autograph on the vinyl. I just pushed the CD pack over without a word and she signed that too. As I recall, we just said merci to each other, I think I said that a couple times, like every time she did anything. (By the by, though I wish I had been able to speak to her in French and understand what she was saying, how many times outside singing a song have you heard Alizée speaking English? It was kind of nice just for that unique experience.)

So then, I left the stage and when I got down some guy pulled me over for a radio interview, I think he said. I apologized for not understanding much french and as I recall it consided of mostly:
him: where are you from?
me: I'm from California. I came all the way to France just to see Alizée. There are like 5 people from America (oops, so there were only four). Two from Washington. (realized I was about to start babeling and stopped there)
him: (something about how did it feel or something to talk to Alizée)
me: it was awesome! (I know I said that and something else)
him: you got a tattoo of Alizée?
me: yes?
him: why?
me: parce que...je suis un grand fan. (because I'm a big fan)(ok, I wish I had elaborated more on the thing)

About the tattoo:
Starting with the well known iconic photo of Alizée from her second album cover and modeling the fairy wings on the wings of a Corsican Swallowtail butterfly, Roman Revell brought to life in his own flesh this beautiful image of «Alizée comme Fée Clochette» (thanks Cooney for better French) - Alizée as tinkerbell - with the help of Wade Darby, artist and owner of Visions in Flesh tattoo parlor in Sacramento, CA.

Yes, I should start always referring to myself in the third person.
I really like that image of Alizée and it is iconic. It is recognizable. I've seen it as a silhouette, which even works. At first I had thought to get it on my arm and thought that if that could not be done well, maybe I'd just get the silhouette on my arm. Then before talking to any artists, probably a couple months ago, I thought to add the wings. We refer to Alizée as une fée or la fée clochette often enough. After talking to the artists and realizing it would have to be bigger to look better I figured on my back, where I got it. Probably seeing Alizée's tattoo also influenced me on size. By the time I set the date for it I just wanted it huge. On the day we had to make various adjustments and I think 9 1/2 inches tall is what we eventually came up with for the height (that would be approximately 24cm). Also, with this photo, even if duplicated exactly the face is not detailed since it's so small. So, I did not want to much detail of her face because I was afraid that would come out looking weird as a tattoo. It's very difficult to reproduce a good likeness of a person as a tattoo. It would be tragic to make Alizée look weird on a tattoo. Also, probably the same reason they originally chose to use that photo, with that smile and her eyes closed she looks serene and fairy like. The shot is beautiful artistically as is Alizée.

I have been thinking about getting this done for months. I procrastinated of course, then eventually went on the web looking for samples of artist's work and eventually got four or five tattoo parlors in my area that I wanted to call. I called, but only two of them would create a sample drawing for me. They were both good, but I picked the one that seemed to be more likely to do a good job of duplicating the Alizée pose. Originally, I heard he was booked until January. I had waited a long time for this and was willing to wait months longer if necessary to get the best rendition I could. I finally got Wade's sample on Saturday 24 Nov (maybe it was Friday) and decided to go with him. We set a date for the 6th. I was pleased as I was still thinking about going in January to see Alizée in the concert in Strausbourg. Thanks to the leadership and hotel booking suggestion of Snatcher42 and the statement from Cooney about this maybe being the only chance to see Alizée up close and talk to her, I decided, like him, to go now instead of January. I finally booked flight tickets and a hotel room on Sunday morning and then called the tattoo parlor at noon when they opened. I figured if I begged, there was a chance that I could get Wade to do the tattoo before I left. He got me in the next morning (Monday 26 Nov) at 9am. By 1:30pm I walked out of there with this beautiful tattoo, very happy that I would get a chance to show it to Alizée up close and personal and before the rest of the world got to see it. I just wish I could have swiveled my head around to see her reaction at the instant she first saw it. It was actually still pealing on the 3rd (well, still is), so I'll post a picture from the second day. For those of you who don't know, the top layer of skin peals off like from a sun burn. Getting it done is by far the most painful part, but it burns a bit all the time afterward. Still does just a tiny bit, especially when I rub the lotion on it, which must be done several times a day to keep it from getting dried out.

So, continuing on... after I was done talking to the guy, I went over behind some ropes where the rest of the guys were standing. Well, by the end of the session, our group was clumped at the very front of the crowd control rope just in front of Alizée. So, we stood there and watched her for like three hours after we went up. RMJ was in the front with his awesome camera taking hundreds of photos. Way to go, dude!

As I mentioned to the guys, there were many things that came in to my mind while I was there and we talked about of lot such things. One thing though is that I remember feeling like it might as well have been a mall close to my house. Flying all the way out to France and all that didn't matter at all. It seemed like that lost all of it's significance. Nothing mattered at all. I was just very happy and felt like a new level of being an Alizée fan. I'm sure that time was the greatest moment of my life. It was even gratifying to share the spot-light for a moment and I'm sure I will have much enjoyment as time goes by of looking at those autographed albums, but the very best part of all was just Alizée right there talking to me. I had the feeling like I had never really heard her voice before. Somehow it was just different, right there and in person (and partially in English in my case). Some of you will say she's just a woman and I know you are right in a way, but if you were there, you wouldn't say that. That was a truly awesome experience. Alizée is regal, like a queen. I can't even justify any description like that even to myself, but it doesn't matter, it's not about that. I don't want to convince anybody. I don't want to convince me. I don't need to. I experienced it. You would just have to have been

Mod Edit: That post by Roman is number 279 in this thread which is all about that autograph session. Too bad all the photo links are broken. :( http://alizeeamerica.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2844

Back in October of 2001, "Alizée signed a contract with Panini, to make a sticker book called "Alizée, son jardin secret" (Alizée her secret garden). There were 50 photocards. Now we've seen I believe all those pictures over the years, but at least I, hadn't seen the cover.....

Good choice of pictures. That white dress was my favorite En Concert outfit.

I believe there were initials on the front of the dress by the designer which I'm sure everyone has noticed long ago.

I discovered Alizée a couple of weeks after my 17th birthday in January of 2009. Psych had been out for some time and that era was nearing its end. After learning all about the MF/LB era I took some time to explore the Psych material.

I remember watching the music video for the Rolf Honey Remix of Fifty Sixty and dreaming about what my life would be like in my 20's. I loved the custom LILLY TOWN sneakers that Julien wears, and how he gets up in the middle of the night and decides to walk around the city, go to a dance club, and walk some more late into the night. I couldn't wait for my life to be like that, to just be free to do whatever whenever.

At the time, I had started staying up late on school nights, absorbing all the Alizée the internet had to offer, and hoping my dad wouldn't turn off the wifi to keep me from doing just that. After finding AAm and later joining it, I spent even more time reading my way through tons of threads, to learn about members here and their fan experiences, making friends in the Bar & Grill and later in the Chatbox.

My 20's are a lot different than what I was hoping for or expecting. I don't live in Paris and I don't go dancing in the middle of the night when I can't sleep. But at least I am still thinking about those LILLY TOWN sneakers and listening to Alizée. And now that I live on my own and have a car, I can go to 7 Eleven and get slurpees in the middle of the night :D :rofl2:

Anyone know when this new performance was, and possibly have a link to the original performance? Trying to brush up on my Zée since I’ve been gone a few years now

I don't know if it's any help, but I think that was one of her first performances post blonde. It looked like she dyed her hair for it and imho, it didn't look good and if I'm not mistaken, she soon went to the black hair.

EDIT: Just found a link to the thread related to what your asking about.

EDIT: I think this is the video. It's from October of 2014....

This video was published on 13 November 2013, evidently in response to her performance of "Video Games" during week 6 of DALS that was aired on 2 November. Forzon means 'force'......Force Alizée!

I'm no hair expert by any stretch of the imagination, but based upon women that I have known that changed the color of their hair multiple times, going from one extreme color to the other is not very straightforward. Alizee is not natural blond of course, so she had to repeatedly get it touched up, and dyeing damages hair. Damaged hair does not hold color as well. So I am guessing the hair color in this video was what resulted when she tried the first time to go from blond to black. It's got a reddish auburn look that does not look good on her. The second or third dyeing is probably when she got it to where she wanted.

I certainly hope she leaves her hair dark now.

As I've said before, what came right out of the box was perfect and should have never been changed. It would be interesting for someone to come up with a time frame of pictures from her last blonde appearance to this basically red hair performance to the black hair change.

It's funny but I can watch that video in here, but if I go to the Youtube site it says blocked and I can't watch it there.

I couldn't find the original video above where I had edited in Alizee images, but I was able to do a screen capture in here of it.

So I have 2 versions of it, one with just the raw video, then the second where I edited in the images.

Raw:

With Alizée images:

In the process of looking for this video, I came across another one when I was driving through the Dieppe, Dunkirk area of France and they had what I think is a classic French song as far as what I'd expect to hear when over there. It's a beautiful song from a singer I don't think I've heard before but it reminded me of the songs Bamagirl had posted the other day.
