I recently downloaded L'important C'est D'aimer which was in three zip's. Don't know whats wrong with the .mpeg, when I try to play it with VLC it goes to mosaic (?) at the start and then skips to about five secs from the end. It sorta fast forwards the whole middle section. WMP behaves similarly. VirtualDub says "No video frames found in MPEG file" if I try to open it  However, Ulead Video Studio plays it fine  Any ideas what it might be?

I have the same problem when I try to play it with VLC. I didn't try WMP because that's crap anyway.
But it plays fine on Windows Mediaplayer Classic and several other players. I tested BS Player, PowerDVD, DivX Player, The Core Media Player. None of them had any problem with this video.

Also try MPlayer. It plays almost anything.

i think that the there is a problem when download that corrupts the .zip file or your zip program is corrupt.
but try what they said , you never know in computers till u try everything.

Thanks for the advice, I'll have to try those as well. :) But how come one player is able to play it, if its corrupted? I'm not too familiar with the inner workings of these, but could it be that there's some "non-standard-isms" in the file that are ignored by the player which is able to play it? :D Like the differences in browsers. They don't render things identically tho they should. Honestly I don't have a clue, just guessing

If you want, I can post the entire Hi-Quality version in 1 file with a link. Let me know if you want me to do this and I'll post a link to this thread.

I think ~I~ would like that very much. I don't think I have a high-quality version of it either. :o

I had the weird skipping prob with one vid some time ago. Now the same thing happens with two files that are of different type (.m2v/.mpg). Downloaded them without errors, winzip didn't whine about anything. Installed a new version of VLC. Dloaded them again...no use
Whatta f*** is going on

Why struggle, try the best player on the net and see if it works for you: WinDVD.

If it works for you let me know and I'll send you the keygen (or you can buy it.) Although v8.0 Platinum is the current version I think that v6.0 Platinum is the least problematic, at least for me.

I'll have to give it a go then. I'm pretty sure that it's not VLCs fault tho, there's something fishy about os/drivers/somethingelse.

With which videos is this happening? Media Player Classic (http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/) is usually my program of choice.

Okay, so I'm drifting away from the original point of the thread but I have a problem with a video.

I downloaded the Une Heure avec Alizée (2003) interview of 1alizée.com.

When I watch it it plays perfectely and subtitles work fine, but when I try to select a different time, as in go from 5 minutes to 20 minutes or 15 minutes to 10 minutes, I am not able to do it.

I WMP, it always goes back to the beginning and in RealPlayer, I just can't select a time. It only happens with this video, I can select times on other videos, I was just wondering if anyone knew how to rectify this?

For me it plays fine with Media Player Classic. I always use that one, it plays almost everything.
I checked, but I also have problems playing this video with VLC. I won't even try WMP !
