its almost christmas time.
imagine if she was planning for a christmas time return and she released her full 3rd album + a christmas single/album. thatd just be the greatest christmas present and it would make my year worthed.
although i highly doubt a christmas single/album, a christmas time return can be argued over. she might be wanting to give her fans the best x-mas surprise ever. its a win-win situation either way, i just hope that im right.....about the x-mas time return *crosses fingers*

I hope that she never does anything for Christmas. I hate Christmas songs more than almost any other genre of music. They're just about the most annoying songs ever devised.
They're played non-stop where I work and so far I've managed to keep sane by repeating to myself "at least it's not Green Day" over and over.

The only Christmas song that I don't actively hate is Oh Come All Ye Faithful performed by Twisted Sister (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=De47fjH6RKY&eurl=). It's great for a Christmas carol but terrible for Twisted Sister. I'd hate for Alizée to do a Christmas song because even if it's not bad it will never be as good as she could have been.

how can you hate Christmas songs? of course, that classical, yeah, i agree, but Christmas songs show a fairytale, show something...remember the "Ice queen" it's a beautiful fairytale...

No risk that Alizée sings a Xmas song. As far as I recall, the last song about Xmas in France must be 50 years old. Very old fashioned and only children could do that again maybe. An adult singer would sound ridiculous to do that here...

Wow, I was thinking this earlier today, wondering if Alizée had any Christmas songs.

No Christmas songs, what about the more traditional Christmas hymns, the French in Québec until only about a decade or so ago were always heavily influenced by the church. At one time it was said you couldn't throw a brick in Montréal without breaking a church window (by Mark Twain, so it was a long time ago). But I am not saying I want Alizée singing hymns, I was just curious if it was only the commercialized Christmas music that the French don't bother with or all of it. I've been exposed to many French Christmas songs on the radio (good and terrible) here and was just curious why they didn't bother with them in France, or do they just keep playing the same selection of old ones over and over. Like these "Douce Nuit (http://perenoelduweb.free.fr/musique/Mp3/Douce_nuit.mp3)" (Silent Night), "Vive le vent" (Jingle Bells), "Mon beau sapin" (O Christmas Tree)...(the words are different, just the music is the same, and I linked the first one because it was readily available on a site I stumbled accross)

OMG that was awesome! I was pretty indifferent about the whole thing before, but after listening to that, OMG! If you put Lili's sweet voice in there....I'd die, lol. I would buy that CD so fast.

About that, are you saying that they really don't play Christmas music in France? Or is all the music they play 50 yrs old?

That was pretty cool, Twitch, thanks a bunch. That particular singer threw me off, but I agree with rwd, Alizée singing that would definately be something beyond spectacular.

Yes, only "classic" old songs like "Vive le vent" ("Jingle bell" I think), "Douce nuit", "Mon beau sapin" ("O Tannenbaum") and others. The one I was thinking of above was "Petit papa Noël" ("Petit"="Little", "papa or père Noël"="Santa Clause") by Tino Rossi, a ...Corsican singer :) and it was released in the 50s or 60s. Since that one, nothing by any "current modern" singer. The main reason would be that it would sound very childish for an adult singer. That's why I mentioned that only a very young child or band of young children could do that, but it doesn't even happen...

EDIT: oops, I read rwd716's post before yours, Twitch! At least, I'm confirming what you said about the old songs that are only used in France :)

Alizee could sing anything French during Christmas and I would buy it. With her voice, she could make her own x-mas carol.

I've been thinking about this, and A quoi rêve une jeune fille is a lot like a christmas song itself.

So she already has a christmas carol

As I recall, most holidays in France is set up for children and is rarely an adult thing. Unless you're speak of independence days or something like that. The adult toasts the days of history and the children enjoy the days of imagination. i.e. Santa Clause, The Easter Bunny....etc.

It's a shame that we Americans have taken almost every holiday and turned it into a drunkfest.

I would trade her third album for a christmas album any day. To hear Alizée sing popular christmas songs would be magnifique!

I was watching Wizard of Oz the other day, and couldn't help but think wouldn't it be amazing and just awesome to hear Alizée sing "Somewhere over the Rainbow"

I did catch a video of Alizée singing the "Yellow brick Road" from Wizard of Oz when she was younger, over at DailyMotion video
