Well... I wanted to start this personal blog cause i feel free to talk whatever i want to.... So lets start! (Sorry for the typos :D i'm not english native)
Today was a good day actually, i started the second level of my french courses (2 out of 17 lol), i'm used to listen to Toc de Mac before i start with the day officially and it really motivates me. Talking about the french class, during the mean time i talked with my new teacher and she asked me "What do you do to learn french?" and answered "well... I always listen to a French singer called Alizée" and then i showed her one Alizée's song because i wanted to know if she recognize her and my teacher's expression was like "i know who's her and i'm impressed that you listen to her music!" but i don't really know if she knows Alizée or not. The class finished okay but i still prefer my first level teacher haha.
By the way, today i friend asked me how can i always listen to Alizée without getting tired and i didn't know how to answer, the reason is probably Alizée is the kind of singer i always wanted to listen to, her music is my musical taste in a nutshell, Mes Courants Electriques for me is the best album i've ever listened to because it's energizing and combines a lot of instruments at the same time (the case of Toc de Mac), every song is completely different to the other, coeur deja pris is magic and its video clips are awesome (i prefer A contre courant video cause it's like the typical musical video of those times performed in a abandoned building and i love that! <3) so... Maybe the answer is that i ALWAYS listen to Alizée cause her music match with me and she as a person seems kind and sweet! (i write this lines cause i read jessica's letters and i really loved how she described Alizée's personality <3)
finally i want to say that i love this place, it lets me connect with Alizée (the person) even though i don't contribute a lot compared to other members, but i'm okay : D
à bientôt!
(Btw i love this piano cover of Toc de Mac http://soundcloud.com/velectrody/alizee-toc-de-mac-version-piano-de-megalizeecom) bye bye!
Story 1 (6/9/18)--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello, i want to tell you guys about a story that have happened to me like 3 month ago:
first of all this is my actual collection of Alizée: http://www.dropbox.com/s/6uj9h9oluxqpz0n/IMG_20180609_224028.jpg?dl=0 (i know is pretty petit compared to other members collections)
I have a petit story with Mes courants electriques. When i bought Gourmandises my parents couldn't understand why a teenager would want a disk in 2018, back then every day before gourmandises arrived at my house my parents asked me the same thing, yeah it was pretty annoying, then they stopped days after the disc arrived but with Mes courants electriques was a bit different because when i bought it on Amazon my father didn't notice that he bought 2 copies instead one and he was suppeeeeer mad :D :D :D hahah, we couldn't return the second copy bought by mistake, the times passed and both arrived, i remember that day cause when i opened the box with the albums one of them was supeeeeeeeeeeeeer broken:
1.-http://www.dropbox.com/s/8r53erqzsdv137d/IMG_20180609_224145.jpg?dl=0
2.-http://www.dropbox.com/s/6o95x6apzqlgtgr/IMG_20180609_224153.jpg?dl=0
But the other one was in pretty good conditions (the one you can see in the first link) this would sound rude but i'm happy that we bought a second copy by mistake because if the broken one arrives i would cry a lot, haha my father wants to return the broken MCE but maybe he will never do it.
this is my petit story (if my father doesn't return it by the time i'm gonna move to USA i'll grab the disk as mine haha, that's the only thing valuable there)

Your story of your dad and MCE reminded me of a story years ago concerning Aaronius (at the time who now goes by the nick name user followed by some number) who was in high school at the time. He was a young man with very good values. He would later become a mod and helped shape this forum.
At the time, I had made one of my trips to Paris. I brought home some Alizee stuff. I believe I got him an autographed album, but there was some other stuff I got that I sent him. It was either an Alizee poster or one of the ActuAlizee magazines or maybe both. Well he had very strict parents. He was hoping to be there to receive the package before his parents saw it, but unfortunately one of his parents beat him to it and they wanted to know what was in the package and who was this guy from Boston sending him a package.
Well he explained all about Alizee and me and much to his surprise his father was okay with it and he no longer had to hide his love for this beautiful Corsican woman's music.

Well.... today was a pretty good day actually, this day was like a mountain of feelings...
It started okay, i woke up at 7 and a half and then i started to study at 9 am maybe, so everything went nice and then past midday i decided to change my android version from 8.1.1 to 7.1.1 because of yes, so i did it and then my phone wasn't getting signal (like mobile signal). I was completely disconnected from world! and i was supposed to be waiting my study group at 4pm(i have a study group for math, statistics and programming #collegelife), so i felt super stressed trying to fix my mistake and i couldn't, hopefully one of my friends has car and he picked up the other 2 people and when he arrived at my house he just beeped and i heard it. We studied until 7:30pm after that i was trying to fix but everything got worse, i almost cried because i really need my phone..... AND I FOUND THE FIX! at 9:20 pm or so, and when my phone got signal i said "i have to listen to my amorcito :D:D:D:D:D) so i played gourmandises live performance and i was victorydancing like this:
http://a.fod4.com/images/GifGuide/dancing/tumblr_llatanJkKU1qbnthu.gif
hahahaha Alizée really helped the moment! and now i believe even more i hope also today's lesson is that if you feel happy make you a favor and play Alizée!! hahah (also don't be like me and make a backup of everything before something you don't want happens)
I have my phoneeee yayyy with android 7.1.1!! (stock rom of Motorola g5s plus :D )

My math teacher gave to the class some tests (test he did in past semesters) to study and i did one against the clock and this is my time of a 2 hours test: http://www.dropbox.com/s/09iz64xpr9ccgve/Screenshot_20180611-185441.png?dl=0

Edsel's story of the broken cd reminded me of the autograph session for her album '5' in 2013. I was there along with Ray and I had bought roughly 80 cds for her to autograph for our members. She didn't have the time to sign them then, so I left them with Sony in Paris, while I returned to the States. So about a week later, she signed them and somebody at Sony packed them in a pretty flimsy box. Though many of the cases were cracked, the cds were unscathed.
2101
As far as your phone going down, that reminded me of one of my vacations to France where I rented a car. I forgot to pack a cd of Alizee's music to listen to and was super disappointed and constantly reminded of it every time another song came on. There's something extra special about listening to her in France.
Here's a video I took on a trip. I'm a WW2 buff and I was looking for a small town called Oradour sur Glane. My gps led me astray, but at least it was a very scenic ride. Once I turned around, I stopped and talked to the woman I had passed earlier. She spoke English well and I told her the story of being led down the wrong road and I told her the story of the town I was trying to visit. I did make it there later on that afternoon.
I spent the evening in Lyon. That night was the final show of DALS when Alizee won it all and I was trying to vote on my phone. I must've voted about 200 times. It seemed to be going through but I never received a big phone bill which I was expecting because each vote I believe cost 2 or 3 euros. I think you had to have an account established already in order for your vote to count.

Bonsoir!! Je m'appelle edsel et je vais parler sur mon jour :)
Okay today was a good day, as always it started with Toc de mac and i can't stop thinking how a song can turn around my whole day, she makes me happy tho that's why i'm always happy and willing to listen to her music because my emotions is more than just enjoy a song is like when you for some reason feel happy and don't know why, you love that feel, well.. that's my feeling for Alizée's songs, also i love to post pictures about her on my instagram fan page because that way i can help her to promote who's her and what she did, i even made a post about this place haha.
P.S: A friend of mine has the haircut of alizée in 2004, she seems super beautiful! maybe the alizee's charm is complemented by her haircuts :13:

Bonsoir!
hello guys, for today i have an interesting thing to tell you guys:
First i have to say that i usually use an app to learn french is called Discord and i use this server https://discordapp.com/invite/KQwhVTk you can find me on the "beginner-french" chat so today i was there talking and someone asked me about alizée because of my profile photo, then they asked me "do you really have been listening to Alizée during 5 days?" and i was like "wat?" and then i realized that on Discord you can show the app you are using at the moment and you even can change its name, so i changed google chrome to "listening to Alizée" so this happened:
http://gyazo.com/d8ba8dcac306ae7363667a064c3484ce
hahahahaha i love it, a bunch of people have asked me if i've been listening to Alizée during 5 days
(also i've been advertising a bit this place on my instagram page cause i want this to become more active :) )

my election would be:
1. Mes courants electriques
2. Gourmandises
3. Psychedelices (my favorite song is idealiser not toc de mac, even though i love toc de mac and i listen to it more than i do to idealiser)
4.- UEDS (because of soyyyyyy la candidaaaaaa)
5.- Blonde (songs like mon planeur and alcaline are good imo)
6.- 5 (well... i dont like this album haha is not my genre of music so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

im gonna tell what happened when i was in europe and why i went there...
first of all, the backstory:
My grandfather born in Italy, he was an electrician. Before the ww2 there was a rumor which was if you got married with someone you didnt have to join the militia, so he got married with someone random but unfortunately he had to be part of the ww2 because that rumor was fake, so one day he was on his turn on duty he escaped, during that week he hid under the body of murdered people due to he wanted to be killed by german soldiers, he got into a ship as a intruder but the crew allowed him to stay, my grandfather did know where the boat was going so he ended in Venezuela fortunatelly.
He didn't have either passport nor money, fortunately back then Venezuela had a good economic situation and there were many italian groups here, one of those accepted him and (he didn't even know spanish at that moment) he started working as a electrician. Years after he met my grandmother in colombia, they got married and that's how my family ended in this continent haha.
In 2012 (i think) my mom earned enough money to gift us a travel to Europe because we wanted to know if my family is still there, so we took advantage that my uncle was a detective so he did an investigation and he ended up discovering that yeah our family is there but they don't know about our existence, they didn't even know what happened to my grandfather.
We started our trip to Europe, we went to Frankfurt, Germany and then Paris, France (we stayed there during the week of december 31th, it was awesome), after that we did a road trip from France to Italy we went to Milan, Rome and then we decided to visit the town where our family are supposed to live, we went there and is the typical town in a mountain, super beautiful, when we arrived there we asked for the family "Di Meo" and fortunately in those kind of places everyone knows everyone so the french old man told us about a place where maybe our family was, going there we saw a 40ish man walking down the street, he seemed tired, he was going home after playing football, so we asked him in english: "hello, do you know where does family di meo live?"
He was impressed maybe confused and he said: "I'm di meo"
and we were like:"wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooot:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dan ce::dance:"
We told him: "We are your family who lives in latin america, Panfilo (was the name of my grandfather) survived! my mom is his daughter!"
He was even more confused and he invited us to his house, then he asked us to go to the basement because there is someone special who can corroborate our story, we went there and we found panfilo's brother, we showed him our album of photo where there were photos with Panfilo and us, he shouted out loud! and then they hugged us! it was an epic moment, maybe the best moment of my life.
After that hug they started to call every familiar and we got together at a family pizza shop (yes they had a pizza shop lol) and we told them what happened with panfilo! I even met 2 cousins there, i had a hard time trying to communicate with them haha.
Nowadays we receive some updates about them on emails, i'm happy that they're okay, hopefully we can visit them again :)
the end.
I hope you guys like it!

This is a very interesting piece of your family history! I like history of all types, but I think learning about a person's family history is one of the most interesting.
Question: Your grandfather married somebody random in Italy, and then married in Venezuela. I am assuming he lost contact with his first wife after stowing away on the ship, or did he ever have to go through some kind of divorce process?
By the way, I don't blame him for wanting to get out of Italy and not fighting in that brutal war. My parents came out of war torn Europe and it wasn't a pretty sight.

Well i want to tell you guys how discovered Alizée's music:
In November of 2017 i was going through a really hard moment because i did something bad to a friend so i was super alone and sorry, back then my birthday was soon so my sadness almost made me desire to not have a birthday party and this one was special cause i was turning to eighteen. One day i was on my facebook timeline just reading memes and looking for a reason to be happy and this blog appeared (i'm not pretty sure this one was but the date is close so i'm gonna pretend that was this one, maybe it is):
https://gyazo.com/8b86e06ec7d4d62c38f8544120ac4088
When i read that post i was like "who's her?" and then i clicked and my god, i had a reason to live! it was Alizée!!!! I couldn't believe that someone was THAT beautiful, also i love that performance cause everything is prefect in it, the crowd is on point, her voice is omg, her movements!, her look!! i could describe hundred more things but these ones are the most important for me.
Then i looked on her Wikipedia bio too see who's her and how she was doing nowadays, i frankly got a bit sad when i read she left the music 3 years ago but i decided to be happy cause i felt a bit alive so i wanted to hear her albums, i don't remember what was the first album i listened to, but i remember that the first weeks i listened to MCE, Gourmandises and Psychedelices.
Every day for me changed since then so i said to myself that i wanted one of her albums because for me she is more than just an artist is like a symbol of freedom and she's even more than that! she was my reason to keep being happy! also back then i was going to travel alone for the first time from Venezuela to USA (houston) and i was going to stop first in Panamá and returning i stopped in Los Angeles so Alizée really helped me to be distracted and relaxed during the flights....
What i want to say with all of this is that Alizée changed my life so i wanted to advertise her music some way, what i did first was to join in some FB alizée groups and 3 month later i discovered this place. I confess that i was afraid that this kind of places were completely alone and abandoned, also i wanted to be accepted for you guys and i didn't know if you were going to accept me. Fortunatelly i met Ray and he seemed pretty kind and then i met every of you and i happy to be part of this project.

It's a great story Edsel and I'm sure there are many similar ones from the now and the past. I think there are a lot of people who were going through some tough times, who needed something beautiful in their lives, something exceptional and then they discovered Alizée and you can get any more beautiful or any more exceptional, or special, as Alizée.

Edsel, I think I can speak for the rest when I say this, but you are absolutely accepted just as you are on our forums. There is no reason to ever doubt that. It is obvious that Alizee is someone important to you, and you make a great addition here. Nationality and age does not matter, and even if you feel you are struggling with your English when you communicate with us, you do better than what you think!
Alizee just has that special something that seems to help people feel better and put a smile on their face. I had gone through tough times as well, and just seeing her face and smile, hearing her voice whether it be singing or talking, just makes me feel better.

Bonsoir!! today i want to talk about what i think of ALizée's look during the emo /punk era haha
Im gonna talk about this photo only:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/q9gv3u139m4rje7/dzauzb.jpg?dl=0
That photo is the perfect resume of the years since 2002 - 2006
I like that photo cause it's the first one i see Jeremy with Alizée in one photo, the first thing i can't understand is why people wore her underwear out, like for some reason that was cool even though i like that outfit cause is "special" we're not going to see alizée or Jeremy underwear ever again so enjoy it... :D:D:D
The second thing is that back then in 2002 and even nowadays (but more discrete) the pants in fashion was the ones which are a bit tore, being frankly they look pretty good on Alizée for some reason. In 2018 you can see this pants on people at my age, they're more discrete than they were in the past. (i don't use that kind of pants but i cannot say that they're people who seems good wearing them)
Third thing is that i like Jeremy's look, for me he seems like the typical teenager cool guy who always go to the parties and the heart breaker of the college i also like his haircut, when i was 14yo i wanted to have it.
And the last thing is that they seemed cute as a couple tho, he was lucky and i think Alizee too, for me they were in those years like the typical teenager popular couples that we can see on tv in films like High School Musical and such.... Jeremy was the Troy Bolton and Alizée the Gabriella Montez of the french pop music ahahahah like the perfect couple.
this is all i wanted to say, pardonez-moi if you think this is stupid hahah
also i played this on piano today so you can listen to it (it's pretty simple i know, also please TURN DOWN THE VOLUME! if you don't want to get deaf :D)

Hello guys! Yesterday I didn't write anything because I was super tired.
I'm gonna write this before I have breakfast.
Today I feel super super super super (repeat: x99) proud of Alizée, look she started a music career 18 years ago, she were successful at least the first 8 years of her career, the other years maybe wasn't super good as the first ones but she tried and that's more than a lot of people would have done so she did 6 albums (a lot), she won a dance contest, she have her dance academy, she's also married with a guy who personally have my seal of approval hahah and now she organized along her husbanda Gala!!! That's awesome! She's someone as I've said many times on the chat that what she does she does good.
Frankly I don't think she's going to be a singer again, because to be a singer requires many things that probably are not are easy to get (like a good Manager) but maybe I prefer this reality, this reality in which she's happy, basically I said this because she could disappear from the internet but she didn't, she is sharing her dream and if she feels comfortable and happy with having an academy and becoming a dancer I'm happy and I'll support her anyways.
This is my message, I hope you guys like it.

Your post was very well said. It has my personal seal of approval! :)
We all miss her singing, but her happiness is certainly more important. She seems to be in a good place right now. Gregoire adores her, which any sane man in his position would. Even though she seems totally committed to the dance studio, there always will remain the chance she might be invited to do some singing, either as a guest vocal with an established band or Les Enfoires in the coming years. What I think is the least likely is a big musical project with another album and tour. That is, unless she teams up with Mylene again.

Bonjour !
Today I listened to one Mylene Farmer albums because I wanted to get in-depth knowledge about the artist who helped Alizée to become famous...
I just listened to one album because I didn't have time to continue listening the other albums but this one from 1989 it's special and I could understand a more why Mylene likes the songs with double meaning lyrics, the reason is that she really knows how to set up an ambiance of instrumental music and at the same time it helps to let you know what sentiments is she trying to communicate even though you don't really understand the lyrics (like me basically haha) so i like her style, it's not simple on the contrary it's pretty complex, her music it's more than lyrics it's her life melted in sentiments ! I cannot say that there were songs I didn't like but the point is that just one album made me understand 2 things: The first one is that Mylene is super talented as Alizée so it's understandable she became pretty famous in France and the second one is that of you have a team with such talented people is understandable than someone like Alizée were super famous in france, Mylene and Alizée is a perfect team, and if you also put boutonnat in the same team you have a gold mine of good songs.
I'm wondering what would have been about the third album if they continued together

I've referred to Alizée, MF and LB in the past as the dream team. They really seem to be a perfect fit for one another. I have no doubt a third album would've met with much success.

I guess like MCE was more grown up from Gourmandises, a third album might have been closer to Mylene's own songs maybe. I haven't listened to or studied her music any.
Anyway I'm not convinced Alizée wanted to be that successful. Every different old performance video out there is another day traveling to a TV studio and hanging around there waiting to go out and perform. Each interview is the same. For each single release the whole process starts over. The video database (I don't have a link handy) shows how frequently she had to show up for these things. Then there would have been photoshoots too. It was a lot of work and time spent for someone who probably hated having to talk about herself.
I imagine it was 'been there, done that' to her.

Bonjour! I'm sleepy but i'm going to try to write today's blog:
As you see in the title today im going to tell you about the girl i really love!
This girl is very special, i like her because she's someone who always work hard to get good results, she study 2 careers at the same time (both are engineering), another thing i like about her is her smile, her smile is awesomeeee!! (Alizêe's smile is better but my crush's smile is good too) and even though she doesn't have time to even herself (yeah she's always studying and studying and studying) i always try to help her as much as her time and my knowledge can, i feel a bit sad for her because she told me that she wants to play the violin, learn english and workout but the bright part is that if she gets 2 engineering titles i'm sure she'll have enough money and time to develope those habilities, and if you're wondering if she have ever failed a class the answer is nope, she every semester manage to pass every class so yeah she's very talented, lovely, sweet.... a long etcetera haha
I always say to myself that she's my Alizêe hahaha and the reason is that she's as talented as Alizée so i have no doubt that my crush will get awesome results when she starts working... Another fact is that she knows how to get good results on pressure because every day between monday and thursday she's jumping between both universities (yeah she study one engineering on mine and another on other university) haha you can see now why i always try to help her, also we're going to get together on monday to study some C++ because of a test we have on thursday and friday...
Well... this is it, i hope you guys like it!

Looking at that data base, it did look she like had a very busy schedule. I often wonder if when ever she went to some of the nice places she performed in such as Pistoia or Taormina or Rome if she ever had time to go out on her own and do some sight seeing. You'd think if she had, there'd be pictures of it, yet we have none.

Good story Edsel. It's something you should take notice of and it looks like you already have in her study ethics. It sounds like she's going to accomplish a lot in life. Hopefully she'll notice you seem to be dedicated too, to doing well.
I have a nephew who next year will be a senior in high school. He plays video games way too much. He talks about going to a community college because his grades aren't good enough to get into a good college. But if he hasn't been able to study enough to bring his grades up at this point, he's only fooling himself to think he'll be able to apply himself in a community college.

wow today've been a stressing day because i had to do so much homework but okay today i want to tell you guys some studying strategies i use to learn fast and they have to do with Alizée....
The backstory first: I have a test tomorrow for a class that is those kind of classes that doesn't have practice it's only to memorize a f***ing book so you can tell now why i had a hard time studying haha
This class has a lot of dates on it because it talks about Culture and great persons like Tesla, Oppenheimer, Einstein, Aristotle and such.... so to learn the date when they born i use a simple rule, you should know that Alizée born on 1984 okay for example: Aristotle born 384 b.C so what i do is the last to numbers are the date when alizee born 1984 and the first number is the first number of her age (33) so as you can see i can remember pretty good the dates using this rule, another example Einstein born on 1879 so what in this cause the rule is that Alizée born on 1984, so the difference between 79 and 84 is just 5 numbers so if i imagine the number 1974 plus 5 it's 1979 and i can remember that he born on 1800 basically cause if not this whole calcs would not have sense hahaha, i hope you can understand this mess.... And i have other rules but this is enough for a blog....

Bonsoir! Il est 22h00 ici so i'm very tired....
Today i want to post 5 questions i have for Alizée if she ever read this:
1) How often do you listen to your songs? Do you listen to Mes Courants Electriques?
2) Have you ever visited this page before? If so how many times and do Annily and Gregoire know about this forum?
3) How many fans visit your dance academy to have a photo with you?
4) How do you feel after being 4 years away from music?
5) Can we wait for your return to music? If so what kind of musical genre would you like to sing?
And this one is optional it's alright if you don't want to answer:
6) What were your reasons to split up from Mylene Farmer?
Baisers i hope you can read this someday... :bye::bye::bye::bye::bye:

Bonsoir! comment allez-vous? Today france qualified as first on its group! yay #fifaworldcup
today i want to talk about this album, i feel this one is the album most underrated of the six, and yeah as you can see in the title im talking about Une enfant du siècle....
This album for me is very special, the first reason is because it has a song only sang in spanish, i love her pronunciation, the song is "la candida" and i really love this song due to its lyrics are very simple but the musical composition and her accent do their effect to help this title to become one of my favorite 5 songs....
Other songs i like are Eden eden, Limelight and Une fille dificile, what i like of this songs is that they are very chill so they are almost a must if you want to listen to relaxing songs made by Alizée.
Finally, this albums is really good at those times when you're going on a trip at night and you're looking through the window thinking about anything because it helps you to think about how much Alizee changed and what is she trying to communicate with this kind of songs, also i like that she got the fame she wanted through doing what she loves instead of playing a role that she really didn't like that much, so Alizee you always makes me proud, you are a role model for me, merci pour tous !
i hope you guys like today's post, au revoir!

Wow this week is going very hard for me cause i've been very busy and today i want to tell you guys about what happened hahaha...
im someone who really need his sleep hours (8 hours) when he's going to take a test so yesterday i went to sleep really late like 12am or so, and hopefully my test was at 3 pm because i could rest as much as i wanted..... then at 12pm when i was having lunch i felt super nervous because this stats test i took today was the first so i didn't know about how hard is this stats teacher, hopefully during the test she decided to use a test model that fortunately was the exactly that i practiced the day before because i guy who passed the class semesters ago he sent me that test so im super lucky! hahaha unfortunately my crush had super bad luck, the reason is that the teacher didn't know that she gave us 2 models test, the one i had and other one that was just 2 copies, and those copies were received by my crush and other girl so rip, the bright part is that i'm okay and i was lucky ! haha
That's basically my day, i didn't wanted to post cause i was practicing programming for tomorrow and my program had an error that the teacher didn't tell us about so..... #unlucky?

Today i don't know how to feel... because i just finished my exams week and i think i did very well but today i let the father's hard disk fell by mistake :c
I'm gonna tell you guys about my week, the monday and tuesday test were very normal so any special thing happened but yesterday and today were very very difficult days, yesterday i had my first programming test in the laboratory ... well the excercise was easy but i was the only person who could do it and run it perfectly before the deadline, i remember that i was 30 minutes reviewing my code and the error was a simple 6 characters line (break;) hahaha fortunatelly i remembered so i was the only person who got 20 out of 20 points and today the test was very hard, i think i did okay but i'm not sure about the excercise number 5 hahahaha.....
Alizée really helped, Toc de Mac was very useful at that stressful moments and i always listen to it in the morning on my way to college so Alizée tu es toc de mac !
and i don't know if my father is gonna kill me or not, he's sleeping but tomorrow i'll tell him about the dramatic event.... im gonna be sincere and i'll tell him the truth and only the truth.... wish me luck!
Tomorrow i have a test for my french class so as you can see i'm going to sleep very late...

Sounds like you'll do well with programming. I have a nephew who dropped out of college but he was good a programming and got a job with an investment firm, Morgan Stanley as a software engineer. When a company let's say from Europe is using MS's programs and they have a problem, he is one of the many guys they call and he does very well getting a nice bonus check at the end of the year.
As far as your dad's hard disc, what type of disc are you talking about, cd, dvd, vinyl?

Being in the IT field for 30+ years now, the absolute best programmers I have known never had a formal college education in it. Especially one guy, who was a diagnosed manic/depressive. He could program for 36 straight hours and hardly eat a thing. He could program device drivers in assembler language bug free first time around. He would chain smoke and drink cokes one after an other, and rock in his chair while he was concentrating. When he was done, he would pass out and sleep on the floor next to his chair. After a "good night's sleep", all of a sudden wake up, light up a cigarette, get a coke, and continue on at his computer. If I did not witness this first-hand, I never thought this would be true!

My nephew worked in Boston with other software engineers. At one point the company said they were going to send some of them over to India to train people over there, but they weren't going to be replaced by these people. Corporate lies! Sure enough when they had trained so many, they closed that part of their office in Boston. My nephew was good and he was offered a position in NY which he took. He told me about one of these new engineers in India who made a mistake that cost his company over a million dollars. Justice served.
But I see more and more of this happening all over. You are just a number. My brother worked on the laser equipment for Gillette. It was a great company to work for, then they were taken over by Proctor and Gambell. They put people where they wanted, people with high seniority were put on night shift and new guys were put on day shift, but that too soon bit them in the ass, but it's just another company that is run by greed.
The same is true of my company. We merged with another company years ago and though it was a merger, it's all the other companies management that's running the show and all they care about is the almighty buck.

My son, Chris, is a software engineer. He develops Artificial Intelligence. He warns of a problematic future. We already know there are cars and trucks that can drive themselves. Within a few years, all the truck and taxi drivers' jobs in the world will disappear. We are talking about millions of jobs evaporating. The loss of these jobs is only the tip of the iceberg. Within the next twenty years, robots will be able to replace most occupations. In 50 years robots will replace doctors, lawyers, and engineers. Robots will manufacture and repair other robots. In 75 years, robots will replace CEOs. I'm an old man and don't have to worry about this problem. I think I am lucky to be in the generation I'm in. In my father's day, a high school diploma was like a Bachelor's degree today. In my generation, life would be tough without at least some college. Today if you don't have a college degree you will have a tough time paying your bills. In twenty years a college degree will be at a disadvantage against a robot. Unemployment will be phenomenal.
If you are an exceptional human being, you will always find a way to survive, but if you are an ordinary Joe, survival will be a challenge. There's talk about the government taxing corporations so it can pay everyone a minimum income should they not be able to get a job. It sounds crazy. A lot of people and corporations will oppose this idea, but if everyone is poor who is going to support the economy. Corporations can't make money if no one has it to buy their products and services. If billions of jobs dry up, what will happen to humanity?

Even with the problems that jobs lost to A.I. will cause us, many countries are already in a world of hurt. Several years ago, even before the massive influx of immigrants of recent years happened. countries like France brought in a lot of immigrants in the hope that these people being put to work would add tax dollars to their economy which would help for all the people who would be retiring in upcoming years. But that didn't pan out the way they thought it would and it only added to their tax burden making the situation worse. Now you bring in all these immigrants? The situation can only go down hill that much sooner .
But it wont affect the rich, the people who run our governments in a huge way. It will only make their situation better.
Our own country's social security system will run out of money and that is probably not far in the future. With so many corporations being able thanks to our government to end many pension plans (My company was able to enter bankruptcy and end our pension plan despite having 4 billion dollars in cash), what will happen when SS collapses? If the economy collapses, most 401k holdings will be worthless.
China will suffer a huge blow when most of the world can no longer afford to buy their goods and Middle East will suffer a huge blow when their sales to western countries drop to a trickle, but it's still a situation that the rich and the powerful will profit from.
I don't envy young people today.

This weekend has been very stressful because i have to study a lot and i didn't have time to do anything but i hope all of this will be rewarded.. c:
I'm happy because i had 4 tests the past week and i could handled it even though everyday was more stresful than others and Alizée really helped with her music cof cof Toc de Mac cof cof
Also i've been feeling very sad and this is one of the reasons:
Is it me or when we're 18yo we start complaining about the shape of our body? i'm telling this because these year i've felt very uncomfortable with mine. I'm thin so when you're like me probably the thing that makes you unconfortable is that i always try to wear sweaters because i don't want people to see my arms and i feel that makes me very unactractive so maybe that's the reason why i like to listen to Alizée's music, it lets me forget all of this.
What i'm trying to say is that maybe i like Alizée cause her 20yo version is an impossible dream for someone like me.
Sorry if this post is sad but i really wanted to vent
merci

Well I think in some ways, you should feel very fortunate. For the average person, it's much harder to take off weight than to put on weight. Even Alizee would love to have that problem.
If you aren't very muscular, that usually can be changed. Gyms are usually inexpensive. It's when they try and sign you up for 'coaches' that the price goes up, but here that is not a requirement, but something they want. Trust me there are ways to make this happen in a relatively inexpensive way, but it needs some drive on your part.
Look at this performance of Idealiser during the SAGA show where Christophe Willeme sang her song. This guy is very thin, yet Alizee and those others around her were blown away by his performance.

If billions of jobs dry up, what will happen to humanity?
I try to keep up on current trends in technology. Artificial intelligence and robots is not anything new and have been around for decades, but our understanding of the human brain has exploded in the last few decades.
Certainly the most menial, repetitive jobs will be targeted first for replacement. When you start talking about driverless cars and trucks, I don't think we are quite there yet. There is an unlimited number of situations a driver can find themselves in. The human mind would tend to make emergency decisions in favor of saving human lives. The robot mind might be programmed to make emergency decisions that favor the profitability of the company at the expense of human lives. Right there we would have an army of lawyers ready to sue if human lives are taken to save a payload.
The socialist "guaranteed income" experiment is already being tested in Stockton, CA. There is much more to being a dignified human being than being part of a huge, worldwide nanny state. Work is what defines a person, especially men. Without work for the masses, there will be huge mental health issues to deal with, even if the government is providing basic necessities. I'm sure there is a plan already in place to deal with all these "useless eaters". The future looks bleak for most of humanity if the robots take over the earth, so to speak. Meanwhile, for the select who already own most of the assets of the world, they see the future as Utopian. Who knows how many billions are being invested in life extending technology, i.e. The God pill? The current crop of Silicon Valley billionaires don't want to die, but reign over their future Utopia.

Hello ! i'm back ! i wanted to take a break because i was posting so much...
Now that i know more french, i started listening other artist (Louane) even though i really love Alizée i want to tell you guys my opinion about who is better !
First of all we can't decide that one of the two is the best cause their music genre is not the same and for me doesn't make sense to put one above the another but i'm gonna compare which way is better to listen each one.
Louane:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/ba/Louane_Cannes_2017.jpg
Anne Peichert (born 26 November 1996), known by her stage name Louane Emera or simply Louane, is a French singer and actress.
She is best known for being a semi-finalist in the second season of The Voice: la plus belle voix in France with Louis Bertignac as a coach. She later got a role in La Famille Bélier which won her a César Award.
Okay that was a little summary about who is Louane and i have to say that i just have listened her album "Chambre 12".
Also the thing that most impress me is her voice, she has a really good voice and her songs have catchy rhythms, the songs i like are:
Jour 1:
https://open.spotify.com/track/13lXv8YxX0YYHM0SCk1KYb?si=eEr0T5zvSc2XBNn3RkcqyQ

Tourne:
https://open.spotify.com/track/2nrGtpI0nasIKZTKL2iQdv?si=C2ZvCctqSMy95u3cLF7XHg
I feel she's more into singing, as i said she has a really good voice, very unique and pleasant but i think i would listen to her more than i would watch her performances on youtube, she's not someone who likes to dance on her performances, she just stick with the beat and for me that's enough, she doesn't have to dance to become a good artist.
And now talking about Alizée, i would say that i prefer watch her performances because she moves in a really special way, her voice is good for the kind of music she played, she doesn't need a voice like Louane, she has advantages like she knows how to dance, she also knows how to encourage the public while she's performing and for me is better to watch her than just listen to her music, even though i love to listen to Toc de mac.
To sum it all up in two sentences:
i prefer to Listen to louane
And i prefer to watch Alizée
Well, that's it, i wanted to post something and this was my idea, i hope you guys like it ! <3

Thanks for the post and being so honest.
I think Alizee has a "pretty good' singing voice. I can think of a ton of singers that have a better singing voice than Alizee. I can also think of a lot of bands whose music is better than Alizee's. I don't even like pop music very much.
For me, Alizee is in a category of her own. It's her voice (talking or singing) matched with her physical looks, the way she moves, her personality, her facial expressions, her sense of humor, her loyalty and other characteristics that all are wrapped up in a little 5 foot 2 inch package that makes her stand alone in her own category.
Because of this, I would rather watch Alizee perform than any other person on earth.
I think it is great that you are expanding your musical horizons! :)

One of the major reasons I prefer Alizee's singing to her dancing is that when singing the camera moves in close and we can see her face clearly with every nuance of her expressions. When Alizee is dancing, the camera shot is at a distance and not at all as personal. With the long shots, she could be any dancer, but with the close-up, she is all Alizee. When dancing, the choreography is unimaginative and the dancing mediocre, but I really do enjoy her singing.

I wonder if it might have been me who introduced you to her. Everyone knows I'm a big fan of Les Enfoires and one of the songs they had in the show in 2016 was Jour 1. I'm not sure if I knew of this song before then.
I really enjoyed the version they had in the Les Enfoires show too. They added a little bit to the end of it with Renaud Capuçon a French classical violinist. and Marie-Agnès Gillot , a French ballet dancer and choreographer with the Paris Opera Ballet, joining in.

I did a little research in our forum and found out it was through Les Enfoires that I first heard the song Jour 1 and doing some research on that song was how I found out about Louane. If you look under the second "EDIT" in post 55 you'll see what I'm talking about.

In a post shortly after that I said "Now I can't get Jour 1 off my mind." and I'm sure it's after seeing Louane sing it, I came to love her and the Les Enfoires versions.

We were comparing other artists against Alizee. The gist of the discussion was that we enjoyed other artists, but had difficulty finding one as attractive as Alizee. At that point, someone who doesn't frequently post comments suggested Louane and posted her singing Jour1. That was the first I'd heard of her. I commented that I enjoyed her singing, but was not attracted to her as much as to Alizee. Immediately after my comment, you made a similar comment, though not as critical of Louane, so I remember that you were not the one who first brought her to my attention. Although you did post the same video, Jour 1, sometime later. I tried to find the exact post but grew tired of looking for it. :bye:

I think if you put a 21 year old Alizee next to Louane (who is 21 currently), just on physical attractiveness alone, Alizee wins. She wins big in my book. Alizee has a beautiful complexion that does not need much makeup. Plus, she has aged gracefully. You might have an argument that sticks if you say she looks better than ever at 33. I think she will look great at 43.
There is no doubt that Louane is beautiful, but just by the looks of her facial structure and features, she will be totally different at 31.
As far as beautiful French singers, there is rarely a mention of Jenifer on this site? I think she is very beautiful, with a great singing voice and a very attractive physique. She also changes her hair style almost as much as Alizee! :)

Though Louane is a beautiful young lady, like you said, the physical attractiveness gives Alizee a huge edge. Jenifer too is a beautiful woman. Lorie also is a beautiful French singer, but I'll say the same thing about Jenifer and Louane that I said about Lorie. I've seen many a woman in my life who bear a strong resemblance to these women But ones that bear a strong resemblance to Alizee are few and far between.
As I've mentioned many times before, it's a unique beauty. Maybe that's what makes it special.
As far as us not speaking about Jenifer, there was the one video we posted that was when Alizee was 17 she pranked Jenifer by calliing her while Jenifer was on a talk show and Alizee just pretended to be some nobody and asked Jen questions about Alizee. That's back when they were friends
I know I've mentioned before when I've seen Jenifer perform in Ajaccio which she's often done.
Of course a few years ago, they had a falling out apparently over an album Jen came out with and that could be why we don't mention her much of late.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Lorie. She's definitely a beautiful woman. But I guess I just confirmed what you said. I forgot about her... doesn't that say something??
Nobody I have seen bears a strong resemblance of Alizee. It's a bit like hitting a moving target, with the hair style changes and even color. ;) But taking her hair style out of the picture, if you or anybody else is like me, I have noticed all her nuances. Her upper lip slightly overlaps the lower, her nose and philtrum (skin between nose and upper lip) is unique, her two front teeth have slight chips where they come together, her eyes have a slight slant downward on the side toward her ears. She has a pea-sized scar on her upper right eyelid. All the "imperfections" that make her perfectly unique. And special.
Regarding the tiff between Alizee and Jenifer, I hope they can let it go one day soon. They had a special friendship, and you can see it when they worked together. Life is short.

That does say something......There is no forgetting Alizée.
Of course a large part of it has to do with her charm. That beautiful, what looked to be an embarrassed
kind of smile when she was singing JPVA in front of the Eiffel tower.
The little waves to the crowd during her performances. That look during one of her ACC performances
where she's looking down and then she looks out at the crowd and then her face lights up with that
beautiful smile and eyes.

This incredibly cute moment during Ella, ella....

This great moment where she almost crushes Annily with a hug....

I also think one of her most beautiful moments was on the night she won the DALS competition.
She had this incredibly serene look on her face and she looked over at Brahim Zaibat and
Katrina Patchett with this very caring, concerned and admiring look.
Just another part of her beautiful personality.

I am bringing this back full circle to Edsel and his need to take an Alizee break. I think if I only listened to Alizee sing, I would have tired of her music long ago and only play her occasionally today should the mood strike. The same thing would happen with Louane.
On the other hand, watching Alizee makes all the difference. I still watch the original JEM video that introduced me to Alizee in 2006, and I still enjoy it just as much - maybe even more now that I know as much as I do about her. Watching and reading her interviews was huge in making me the fan of hers that I am. Seeing candid photos of her interacting with others when she is not in the spotlight confirms to me that she is the type of person that is worthwhile being a fan of.
In this video, Alizee is getting ready for an interview and small talks the host. It does not look like she knows she is being recorded. There is so much you can get from this short clip on her personality. I like the little sound she makes while talking at 0:28 :) Her talking voice is very calming.

The woman knows how to dress, that's for sure. She had some problems with stage outfits post-MCE, but as far as her street clothes, she is very stylish.
I noticed the irritation around 1:30. That guy is moving in pretty close behind her. The guy might have had a serious case of body odor, you never know. Still, she remains composed.
While we are on the subject of interviews, this "60 seconds with Lili" interview gave me an insight into Alizee's sense of humor more than any other.
Sometimes she can have a dry sense of humor, like her stating she had been training for the interview for a while :p But, she is pretty silly throughout and has a lot of fun.
Her sense of humor is one her charms I am very fond of!

I don't know if this song is part of your LE project, but for those that do not have LE 2013, the song where she is on the swing (part 2, about the middle) I think is the song where Alizee projects her voice to the fullest, especially at 30:30. It reminds me of that part in Double Je in LE 2008 where she really belts it out.

Salut ! ça va ? ça va bien merci !
today i just figured out why Alizée x Mylene was super super super successful, the backstory is that lately i've been listening to Mylene Farmer and yesterday i found out a song named "Désenchantée" (disappointed/disillusion), this song was composed by Laurent Boutonnat and wow wow ! at first sight you should think the song is just as good as others but no ! this one is very special, i don't know why i just love it, and the concert version is x1000 better
So... My hypothesis was totally confirmed, the reason why Alizée's concert were really good even every performance is because Mylene did her magic touch like implementing always an choreography that helps to recreate a good environment around the artist, it's not the same an "static" singer than a "dynamic-rhythm-synchronized" artist.
My hypothesis was confirmed by this video, it's beautiful i have no words... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puQJbvnbycE
And such a good singer career can turn out if one have the help of a mastermind as Mylene is and the talent of a determined-focused Alizée
Bye bye ! i wanted to express my feelings on this topic !
CleverCowboy

I believe that, relatively speaking, Mylene is bigger than Madonna - at least in France. Albums sales figures over the years hold it up.Singing in English gives Madonna a big edge in marketability worldwide though. Madonna, as she aged, had to sleaze up her music and concerts and still her popularity dropped, but Mylene just seems to coast from year to year drawing a very loyal and very large crowd to her concerts.
I think Laurent is the genius behind her success, and behind Alizee's success early on. He obviously is a master composer of music, and he made Mylene what she is today by introducing her as a Lolita image years ago. He wrote the music and somebody else the lyrics - once she learned the ropes, she wrote the lyrics and he continued composing, and Mylene's career flourished.
Even though he has all this talent, it is my opinion he is morally bankrupt. He was producing films for adults when he was merely 17. His first film, which received favorable reviews, is viewable on YouTube. I forgot the name and the video quality is awful - very blurry, as it looked like somebody was filming it using an old camcorder off a bad TV showing of it. About a third of the way through, some woman uses scissors to explicitly cut off some guy's privates, and he just stood there like he was getting a haircut. I really do not have a high opinion of the guy.
Mylene is truly a great performer, but she is somebody I do not care to know anything about personally. I can just enjoy her music and leave it at that. In many ways, I am glad Alizee broke off with them when she was so young and impressionable. I think if they reunited now it would be fantastic, as both are now mature adults and LB could compose music that Alizee would be comfortable performing.

Great going Edsel, in school and in Instagram. That track of Louane is a good one. I lover her voice and I'm sure she'll give us a lot of hits in the future. Good luck with your tests.

Saluuuuuuuuuut, comment ça va ? how's it going!?
well...It's been a while since my last post here but i've been super busy, i have to say that i moved to Colombia and that's why i couldn't be on that much.
ehmmmmm i've been studying a loooooooot to get in college because i have to take like two tests before i could continue my degree (i was studying systems engineering in Venezuela)
I haven't stopped listening to Alizée, i try to listen to her as much as i can because listening to music is one of the most relaxing things to do when you're stressed haha.
(i wanted to ask you what's going on with those instrumental albums released by her on spotify)
i've been improving my french skills using alizée's music and her interviews have helped me a ton ! i'm looking forward to join the Alliance Française here in Colombia and i want to take a placement test to see how much french do i know
I try to read this forum as much as i can and i love to see that this forum is not dying and we've been very active lately, i love you so much guys and i wanted to tell you that i started a 'french-spanish' learning community ! a french friend of mine decided that we have to create one since there were not any back then !
i think that's all i wanted to say, i hope you guys are doing good ! xoxo

Hi Edsel! :bye:
I'm happy to hear you are OK and continuing with your college. :)
Are you finding French tough to learn? I have picked up a little bit of French this last year just by looking at translations and using the Google translator. I can read a little bit of it, but don't ask me to say any words. I'm not there yet. ;)
We'll be here for the long term (hopefully), so stop by when you can and say Hello!

Edsel,
I'm really impressed by you. Are we to understand that you are becoming fluent in three languages: English, Spanish, and now French? And all this while you are in school studying to become a systems engineer. Takes my breath away.

Hello ! How is it going!? Yes, i know, it's been a while since my last post, but i just wanted to let you guys know that i'm doing okay, and also i wanted to catch up with what has happened so far.
Well... As you guys know, i'm in Colombia, i've been very inactive because i've been studying a lot to get into College and fortunately enough i took an entrance admission test last friday and tomorrow i get the results ! i hope i get accepted :nervous:
Without further ado, i'm going to tell you guys the most important/interesting thing that have happened to me these months in which i've been inactive:
I had to go to a school for a month and a half to get prepared for a test that every colombian highschool student have to take before going to college, and in that place i met a girl, she is fluent in french and one day i was bored in class and i wanted to watch J'en ai marre performance, and she was behind me and she watched the video and she told me 'Omg i love that singer and i like that song' and i was like 'oh god!' and thanks to that i met another fan ^^.
I've also been studying a lot of French, every time i study i put some Alizée songs in the background because i can understand the lyrics and also she helps me to have a good time while studying.
well this is pretty much it, i'm sorry if you guys expected more from me but this is what i can think of right now haha, i hope everything goes well for you guys! xoxo

2.-http://www.dropbox.com/s/6o95x6apzqlgtgr/IMG_20180609_224153.jpg?dl=0
This story reminds me of my copy of Mes courants électriques, which I consider my little treasure, since it is the only Alizée album I have for now.
A few months ago I finally managed to find a copy of it at a good price on Amazon (don't know why but a lot of MCE and Gourmandises copies are sold at 50€) and I was extremely happy to have my first Alizée's album. So it arrived... but i have the feeling that something is wrong...

Now I don't know if I shoud buy Gourmandises or MCE again...

Like CleverCowboy said, Gourmandises cd, but in an MCE case.
I believe I have an unopened MCE cd, still in the wrapper, but the case has a crack in it. I could post a picture. You could always replace the case. I also have an autographed 5 cd. I sell mine at cost, plus shipping. If you're interested, let me know. I might also have something else.

Wow, that's really interesting, but I'm afraid that I must decline for now: I'm in the middle of an exam session, so I don't have a lot of spare time. I'll be very happy to contact you as soon as I'm free, if you have still something. Thank you very much for your interest! :)

Hiiii guys, how is it going? It's been a while since the last time I posted in this thread, but it's alright :)
I have to admit that I've been checking up on this forum even though I didn't post anything haha.
Okay, let's catch up with what I've been doing so far haha
I finally started university! It's been a month and a half of that :D. I've also been working out and three days ago my career course coordinator invited me, along with 9 other people to a three day long event like a hackathon. If you guys don't know what that is, it's basically an event where you have to choose a project from a list and build it in three days without rest. The event finished yesterday but the experience was amazing. I learned a lot about mechanics, electronics and programming and I even finished in third place!
Regarding the topic of this forum, I listened to the last song released by Julia last friday and I liked it , what are your thoughts on it though?
And that's basically it, I'm tired and I have two tests this week so I gotta get prepared for them so see you soon and I hope everything is going well for you!

Hey Edsel.....It's great to hear from you. We miss your posts. Having some electronics, mechanical and programming training was key to me having a career in something I really enjoy and it is such a tremendous help in life at home.
As far as Julia, I really enjoyed her recent song. I was starting to doubt whether she would have success, but I think the great talents of MF/LB are starting to emerge and I'd be very surprised if Julia does not do well.
Please keep in touch with us. We always enjoy your posts!

Hi Edsel! :bye:
Great to hear from you as always. Glad things are moving ahead in your education. The hackathon sounds like the real world in many ways, like working three days without rest. That's the price you pay for being in IT :p
I have more of a neutral response to Julia's new song, and I posted in the Julia thread about it. It is a nice song, but not a great song in my opinion. She is somehow not connecting with her age group, something that Alizee did with ease.
Have a great semester this fall, and hope to hear from you again. :)
