View Full Version : Do you remember the exact date you saw Alizee for the first time?

Every now and then a member posts that it is the anniversary date of when they first saw Alizee. It is definitely a moment of great significance :)

For me, I don't know the exact date. Until I started thinking back, all I really knew was an approximate year, and I had to think about it to narrow it down to a single year. But, I remember the moment when I saw my first video of Alizee - it is forever etched in my mind. The video didn't have a song name and I didn't know French, so initially she was just this mystery girl that blew me away. All I knew was her name.

I was living along the Texas gulf coast at that time. I was in my office with the windows open. It was cool outside and could smell spring. For those that have lived that far south in the US, winter (if you can call it that) comes and goes quickly. It is safe to start planting your garden around Valentine's Day. I had concluded that it was in the March/April time frame. Once May comes around, the A/C is on and I would not have the windows open.

So I was in my office researching World of Warcraft. My youngest son loved online video games. In earlier years, I played video games with him often, some online. But when he was 16, he was completely absorbed in WoW. So much so, he didn't even bug me to get his driver's license until he was 17. :fear: I know I was counting the days until my 16th birthday so I can rush to get my driver's license, so it was strange. He would be up all hours of the night playing WoW, talking with his virtual friends. He tried to explain it to me, but somehow I never had an interest in playing it. I was interested in why him along with millions of others spend most of their days, every day, playing it. Since I knew my son's age at this time, I know it was 2006.

Wanting to know what is it about the game that has my son so addicted, I got on a forum dedicated to WoW. I started reading threads. A member posted a link to YouTube and said this beautiful French girl was dancing the dance of the night elf in WoW. I didn't know what a night elf was, but if somebody is copying the dance, it must be significant. I thought maybe this girl was copying WoW, but it wasn't until later I learned it was the other way around.

So the next mouse click was pretty momentous. :p

Now I know the song was J'en Ai Marre (Pour Laurette), but at the time had no clue.

I stumbled across the video a year or so ago. I hadn't seen it since back in those days. It was titled "alizee" and nothing else. It is dated February 2, 2006.

So as March and April approaches, it will mark my 14th year as a fan.

Wow, I didn't know you have been following her for all this time. Looking at your join date, I thought you had found her quite recently.

As for me, I already told how I discovered her: I knew a certain song that I really liked when I was a child, but I could barely recall its rhythm. So, one day about four years ago, I decided it was time to know what song it was. And I found it: Moi... Lolita. I could even remember some parts of the official video. But, as you can imagine, the joy of my discovery was soon replaced by a completely different emotion.

So I think the first time I saw Alizée might be in 2002/2003 because it is when she became famous here in Italy. But honestly I don't know if it is correct: my only memory of Alizée from when I was a child is ML official video, so it could be possible that I saw her for the first time years later. I don't know. I was only 5 in 2002...

Anyway, the date I could consider to be the day I discovered Alizée is 4th April 2016. It doesn't mean much, but that day I add the first Alizée song to my Spotify playlist. Back then, the only albums on Spotify were 5 and Blonde and the song is Je veux bien. So I think I might have discovered her 1-2 months before.

Edit:

Oh, and this is the video I saw four years ago:

For my part, I remember seeing the clip of Moi Lolita the day of its release on July 26, 2000, it was the school holidays and I was 5 years old. there was music all the time on TV, and as soon as I heard Moi Lolita, I ran to watch the clip

I could see her for real during a concert on October 14, 2003, I was 8 years old, thanks to a girlfriend who also adored Alizée

and I also got to see her for real on February 8, 2014 in Amnéville during the DALS tour, and she is 1000x more beautiful in real life

and I went back to see her every year of the tour in Amnéville

this photo is the only one i've kept from dals because my external hard drive has burnt out

You are not the first person that I have read that says this. ScruffyDog has met her multiple times, the last being September of 2018 at the dance studio. He said pictures don't do her justice.

I was pretty shy around girls when I was young. I mostly got over it during my high school years and by my 20's I could talk to anybody, even very beautiful women. However, I think I would revert back to a blushing, stuttering school boy if I ever stood face to face with Alizee and had the chance to talk to her. :p

It would have been late Summer, 2000, I think… :13:

This...

Alizée - Moi... Lolita (Clip Officiel HD)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpbHdIrtpNo

Had just had it’s UK video debut… :)

Wasn’t too impressed, just some pretty “meaningless” French “candyfloss” music. She was cute, and “all”, but so very very young… :o :p

<“Fast Forward” a wee bit>

A girlfriend picked up “Gourmandises” for me, just after it was released, and by that time, due to necessity, my "command" of the French language had improved to the point where I could appreciate French music just that wee bit better than before. Due to "linguistic difficulties", I admit, it did not get that much “play” time.. :o ;)

But to be totally honest, I still wasn’t “hooked”, and couldn’t really call myself any sort of real “fan”… :o

<“Fast Forward, yet again”>

Late 2008, I think it was, continued “third party exposure” to the three tracks following, (and their associated “variants”), finally “subdued” me, and, “brought me too heel”…

Alizee - Moi Lolita - live (HQ)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfXBNQMj2SE

Alizée - J'en ai marre ! (Clip Officiel HD)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4LIM9VYhB0

Alizee Jacotey - La Isla Bonita [LIVE].
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfNzb6KP8Dk

“Subjugation” complete… :o :)))

It’s her “eyes”… ;)

Just… Doooon’t look in her eyes… :D ;)

However, I think I would revert back to a blushing, stuttering school boy if I ever stood face to face with Alizee and had the chance to talk to her. :p

You’d be surprised at your actual reaction…

I think you would be just “fine”. We just have to get you to Ajaccio, Corisca, and into the proximity of “her goddessness” for me to prove this... ;)

As for “myself” and meeting “Alizée”, well, if it was a “chance” encounter, she would think that she had just met an “old friend”… :o

However…

If it was a “planned” encounter, the longer I had to think about it, and worry, the worse it would be, and, I would end up being either: a “total dribbling wreck”; or; “MajorTotalSmoothBastard”. It’s utterly amazing what I can do under the effects of an “adrenaline overload”… :o :))) ;)

We just need to get all of us to Ajaccio, to find out… :))) ;)

I was first introduced to Alizée by a good friend, who sent me links to some of her videos in November of 2007. The links included:
"A Contre Courant," "Ella, Elle L'a," "J'ai Pas Vingt Ans," "J'en Air Marre," "La Isla Bonita," "L'Ella, Elle L'a," "L'Alizée," "Moi...Lolita," "Rockollection - Les Enfoirés 2001," and "Toc de mac - Concert."
I had always liked French singers and songs, and when I heard Alizée I thoroughly enjoyed her music and I very much admired her talent. I have been a fan ever since, and though I have never seen her perform in person, I would love to do so one day.

I also found out about her back in 2007. I've told this story a few times before but what the heck, might as well tell it again.

Working for an airline, I go on 3 or 4 trips a year and I like to watch music videos on flights. One night, I was looking for some more videos to add to my collection. I enjoyed Madonna's "Hung up" which came out in 2005. I downloaded that and decided to search for more of her music. One of her songs I liked was L'a Isla Bonita. I searched for that and got some results similar to the picture below. There were several search hits for Madonna's songs, but then there was this one picture of a woman I had never seen before. Very good looking yes, but I certainly wasn't bowled over at this point.

So I clicked on that video and enjoyed her singing and dancing. I wondered where she was from but also thought if she was any good, I probably would of heard of her before. I felt sure I had the answer to where she was from, when at the end she said "Merci.". I also thought well she's singing someone else's song so I wasn't too impressed at that point and wondered if she had any songs of her own?".

So I did a search for "Alizée". I can't remember what the other hits were, but the one I decided to click on was her performance of ML in Amsterdam. I had been there on my honeymoon and liked it and I think it's for that reason I chose that "hit".

That's when my jaw hit the floor. Such beauty, such dancing, such poise. The smiles, the little waves to the crowd just kept drawing me in, deeper and deeper. I don't know how many times I watched that video that night. I was really amazed to find out she was only 16 then!

It's really rare to find a song that you enjoy as much as this one, so at first, I didn't do much more searching then, thinking lightning can't strike then but then I found L'Alize (The Dome), ACC (the video), Gourmandises (the video), JPVA at the Eiffel tower. Then after finding these great songs, I stumbled upon "En Concert". So many great songs and great performances. It was an amazing time back then. She brought so much enjoyment into my life at a time I really needed it.

I don't remember the exact dates, neither the date I saw her for the first time nor the date when I re-discovered her by accident. I only remember what I was doing.

I have probably told this story before but whatever.

The first time I saw her was probably in autumn 2001 but I'm not sure. Still.. Moi Lolita was released in Germany in autumn 2001 so it's not unlikely. I remember that I was doing school work at the place of one of my classmates with some others, we were preparing something for religious education about sects. The TV was running in the background on suddenly Moi Lolita was on. I liked it immediately but had no idea who that girl was and didn't know her name. And during the time before the internet was part of your daily life you couldn't just google it.

I heard the song several times on the radio, once I even saw the music video on TV but I still didn't know the name of the singer. I just really loved this song.

The thing is... I never cared much about music except I really like the singer. And so far the only two singers whose careers I still follow and whose albums I buy are Alizée and the wonderful Amy Macdonald.

I'm the type of "I like this song but I have no idea who is singing" person.

Anyway... 2 years later in 2003, sometime in late spring or summer I watched TV and there was an advert for "the new album from the singer of Moi... Lolita" and that's how it all started...

Hi Jenny! It's nice to meet another woman here!
I was very interested in your story about how you discovered Alizée. "Moi Lolita" is also one of my favourite songs. There is just something so catchy and compelling about that song and her voice--or the way she sings it. Whatever the explanation, to me it certainly gets my attention and keeps it.
I am not familiar with Amy Macdonald, so your mention of her has made me interested and I am going to look her up. I'm afraid there are so many singers I am not aware of. Exactly as you put it: I'm the type of "I like this song but I have no idea who is singing" person. ...that is me exactly!

By the way, awhile back I heard of a female fan who had lost most of her fan videos. What that you, by any chance? I like to go back and read through old forum post from time to time, since I'm relatively new to the forum.

Hi Jenny! Glad to see you pop in. :) I never heard the story the first time, so thanks for repeating.

Well, so far I think only Fall knows the exact date. I think he posted in chat his anniversary date. I would think it would have to align with something else memorable to make the connection to the exact date.

Did I ever think I would still be following Alizee the way that I do fourteen years later, and actually be a member of a fan site? Never. I think that is the part I am most interested in...the progression from just seeing Alizee for the first time to becoming such a hard core fan of hers. Was it instantaneous or was it a progression?

For me, outside of a few legendary sports figures from my childhood days, I never was the type to follow any kind of celebrity closely, especially outside of their professional life. My first take on Alizee was that she was exceptionally gorgeous with great eyes and smile. She was different than anything I have seen before. When I had the time, I looked for anything I could find of her on YouTube and MetaCafe. That is the key word, time. I had a business that was doing very well, wife and kids, and a lot of property and animals to take care of. Watching Alizee videos was something I just did when I could. I just know I was in a better mood when I was able to see her.

I watched a lot of compilation videos of her made by fans. I like them because when I saw bits and pieces of her performances, I would find ones that stood out, then went to look for the full length performance.

On one particular compilation video, it showed short clips of this.

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/320x240q90/922/wO0l5V.png

We all know it is Gourmandises now, but I had no idea what it was back then or what performance it came from. All I know is that Alizee moved in such an incredible fashion in the video. :p It became a project for me, to track it down. It did take me a while, and when I found it, it instantly became my favorite Alizee video and still remains so to this day. She that this slightly messy hair going with her bangs draping over her left eye. I thought that look was very sexy, which is the norm for Alizee, but this one especially. That is the reason why my avatar has a picture of that performance.

My "fanship" evolved over time, but once I started taking the time to read about her and listen to her interviews, it struck me that she was really something special as a person. I was half expecting a train wreck like many young musicians, or living a terrible lifestyle, obnoxious, self-centered. Instead I found this very sweet, soft spoken, intelligent, family-oriented, down to earth. This is when I really became a fan of Alizee.

Who else in the celebrity universe does this? (it was posted by Skelton a few days ago).

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1CCS_5ObcjdNDyAd1Kqo7CSkiXaxVsdu6

I rest my case. :)

I think CleverCowboy is exactly right. There would have to be something else memorable to happen on that date to make us remember it.

But I remember the moment clear as day. Searching for a Madonna video. Seeing a Youtube hit of a young woman I didn't recognize. Clicking on it, being impressed by whoever this young woman was, but not overly impressed because she was singing one of Madonna's songs, then clicking on one of Alizée's songs, ML in Amsterdam and what followed was a moment that changed my life.

Hello! It's always nice to meet a female fan, they were always rare in the forum, except in the French ones. :bye:

I am not familiar with Amy Macdonald, so your mention of her has made me interested and I am going to look her up. I'm afraid there are so many singers I am not aware of. Exactly as you put it: ...that is me exactly!

Amy is not popular in the US so don't worry if you might not know about her.:) She released her 1st album in 2007 but still has a strong and loyal fanbase in Europe, also in Germany.

If you're interested in checking out her music, I would recommend her Youtube Channel:

https://www.youtube.com/user/amymacdonaldofficial/

This song called "This is the life" made her famous:

Nice coincidence - today she posted a video from her home singing "This is a life". I just love what a great voice she has. Saw her live in concert in 2017, it was great. :)

That's kind of a sad time. At the same time you discovered someone so incredible, she disappears for about 3 years.

I kicked myself for the fact that I worked for an airline at the time. If I knew about her, it would have been very easy for me to go and see her.

Just joined here but thought I'd enter the conversation. March 8th 2020, sometime between 10-10:30pm, scrolling through reddit someone had posted the iconic J'en ai marre performance (I can't link it yet cause I just made this account now).

I was instantly hooked, genuinely took my breathe away, how had this piece of internet culture been hidden away from me for so long? Definitely feels strange entering a fandom that's 20 years old, especially when Alizee hasn't made a song for about 6 years.

Alizee is YouTube's best kept secret. There are well over 3000 fan made videos of Alizee in addition to the large number of videos of performances, interviews, biographies, etc. Unless you are specifically looking for her, most people will never know who she is, especially in the US. I stumbled across her similar to you, with somebody in a unrelated forum posting a link to her JEAM video, and that started it all.

Becoming a fan 20 years in is still better than not at all! :) In another thread, we had a discussion as to whether Alizee would become a legend of sorts, assuming her videos are always widely available. Would people enjoy her music, dancing and beauty 100 years from now like they do today? I would say she has a good shot at that distinction. ;)

Few years ago Justin Bieber wrote some tweets about a new song that he liked. Suddenly Carly Rae Jepsen, who I think was rather unknown outside of Canada, became extremely famous and now her song Call me maybe has more than one billion views on YouTube.

I wonder what would happen if a famous singer or influencer made people know about Alizée. How would people react?
If I recall correctly, CleverCowboy found out about her thanks to World of Warcraft. What if the same thing happened now with Fortnite (which has millions and millions of players)?
Unlike Carly Rae Jepsen, Alizée has already a large number of videos, performances, interviews and fanpages of all kinds. Also, there is this forum where people would find everything about her.
And last but not least, Alizée is and has always been talented.
It won't be the first time that people find out about something (extremely) good many years later.

The first time I saw Alizee was back in February, 2005. I was downloading various cracks from the Newsgroups where I stumbled upon an ABBA tribute video from the "Brit Awards 1999." I liked the video so much that I decided to download other various music videos from the same newsgroup. Within the new batch of videos that I downloaded was 2 videos from Alizee: JAM and Ella, Elle L'a. I watched both videos and it took a few times but then I was hooked on Alizee for a few years.

By the time August of 2007 came rolling around I had joined this fan website (under a different name) and met lots of other fans. In that same month I helped set up and organize the Alizee Fan Birthday Party (along with CFHollister and Cooney) at the French restaurant in Steilacoom, Wa. I remember that we had about 7 or 8 Alizee fans from around country attend. Great party... games, prizes, Corsican type food, Alizee music videos (among others) and of course, the 2003 En Concert DVD projected sharp and clear on a 12-foot screen. It was great! I still have the birthday banner and various souvenirs from that day. It's one of those, "You've got to be there moments." Thanks to Chef Bertrand (real French Chef from Paris) for donating his restaurant that night and preparing all the great food for free.

Yeah it's incredible how the video just showed up. I so easily could've just scrolled past it and never heard of her again, luckily the thumbnail for the video and title were eye-catching enough to grab my attention. It was posted on r/videos, and you can see the exact same JEAM video gets reposted on the subreddit once every 1-2 years and usually gets a lot of traction, so if people keep doing that it shouldn't be too hard to keep bringing in new fans, even if it's only a small amount.
It's also a bit strange being relatively young (17) knowing there are people here who were fans of her stuff before I was even born. Living in Australia as well I sometimes wonder if I know anyone else who's familiar with Alizee, it's an odd thing to think about.
So I guess as a new fan who can say the appeal is out-of-this-world for some even in 2020, I can't see this fandom truly going away anytime soon.

I did a search on members here and found six other members who are from Australia, but the last visit to this site by any of them was back in 2014. I think you said you live in Tasmania, which is the "island down under the land down under." :) It wasn't even a month ago when I looked up Tasmania on Google Maps. There was some geological feature I read about or saw on TV and I wanted to know more. Quite a beautiful island, definitely the Corsica of the southern hemisphere as you had mentioned.

At the bottom of the forum page, there is a utility to view current users online. Very often you see a few members and about 100 guests, but I had seen the number of guests online at one time to be over 200. I spent some time in the past checking guests often, trying to see if perhaps our forum is being visited by You Know Who. ;) The IP addresses are the only piece of information that we get from guests along with what they are viewing on the forum. Clicking the IP Address link expands the address to give a little more information about the IP. A good chunk of the guests are web crawlers or bots and those are easy to spot. However, there are many valid IP addresses, and using a IP locator utility, I was able to trace back the user to their city and country. Alizee has many "stealth" fans from pretty much all over the world and using the IP utility, I was able to verify that. You get the award for the most remote location that I had seen on the forum, so congratulations! :thumb:

And I won't forget that, thank you! I would've thought there'd be at least some other Aussies with an account come on here since 2014, guess I'm alone in that department.
Tasmania is a great place to live, I know everyone says this about their place of residence but I'd recommend visiting someday if you're able to or interested. Maybe Corsica gets the same treatment of being left out of maps of France like Tasmania gets being left out of Australian maps.

Tasmania has enjoyed some good P.R. over the years due to the Looney Tunes cartoon character "Taz", which is supposed to be modeled after the Tasmanian Devil animal. I used to watch Looney Tunes as a kid, and that was a very long time ago, so I was aware of Tasmania pretty much my whole life. Interestingly, your country pays the creator of Looney Tunes, Warner Brothers, a fee to sell replicas of "Taz" in your country.

I'm a big fan of espionage novels. About ten years ago, I was reading one. The main character, who had spent some time in France, expressed his appreciation for the music of France Gall. Curious, I did a YouTube search for France Gall, which introduced me to some of her songs from the 1960s and 1970s. While one of her songs was playing, I noticed some other French pop singers were highlighted on the right side of the screen. One of them was an attractive young lady whose name and face were totally unfamiliar to me.

Of course, that was Alizee. After playing a couple of her videos, I was hooked. I had never seen anyone quite like her.

A year after that, I stumbled upon the Forum, and began to learn more about Alizee and her background. By now, I have my own opinions of Alizee and her abilities. Like Johnny Carson, it is clear she is largely an introvert, but comes to life on stage. Very little of her music in the early years was truly live. But I agree with the observation that you can sing well, or you can dance well, but you can't do both at the same time.

Regardless of what the future holds for Alizee, I will always remember her as an 18-year-old whose beauty and talent made her absolutely captivating.

Welcome to the forum. Have you read any of Tom Clancy's novels?

I believe it was Madonna who said you can have good singing or you can have a good performance (I guess as far as dancing), but you can't have both. As you said, very little of her early music was live, but En Concert showed us she does have a good voice. Maybe it was different in the way we thought it was, but it was a good voice.

I thought one of the best songs of En Concert was Amelie;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRY3Z_yYP2Q

Another great song was Lou ou toi;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1JmO9i4ylg

L'e-mail a des ailes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NrI6p6pzTc

and the best song of En Concert in my opinion......L'Alizé

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOfJvPJiDJc

Though there are songs that might be questioned, her voice can not be questioned imho.

This is a great story. :) Nine times out of ten people stumble upon La Isla Bonita or JEAM. If it was France Gall, I assume the song was Ella Elle L'a. What a great video that is! She is absolutely irresistible.

Welcome aboard!

Scruffydog777: Welcome to the forum. Have you read any of Tom Clancy's novels?

Scruffy, thanks for the videos. Yes, it was Tom Clancy who introduced me to techno-thrillers and spy novels. Specifically, I think it was A Clear and Present Danger. I'm also a big fan of Fredrick Forsyth. The plots in some of Daniel Silva's series about Gabriel Allon, the Israeli spymaster, sometimes involve the island of Corsica and an underworld boss there.

As I mentioned in "psychosis" post, I may have seen or heard Alizée rapidly during period 2001-2003, but it is not entirely certain.

Instead, the fact that when I found Alizée, is known... Admittedly, for a while I thought a little wrong moment because I was so confused when I saw her!

It was this video:
https://youtu.be/pqTcHtSSfUE

At first, I thought it was August 18, 2020, but it was August 16, 2020, because to confirm it, I did a search on my YouTube history.

[Btw... you can guess that the search took some time, because I've been watching her the last few months so much!]

Because of that moment of discovery, there is one special and interesting thing about this case. Before that, I’ve practically had one mega-level idol globallyl, Elvis.

And everyone who knows Elvis knows exactly what 16.08. means...

"Do you remember the exact date" is somewhat similar to the "How I discovered Alizée" thread.

I discovered Alizée on August 20, 2000 when I arrived on vacation in Paris. Back then Alizée was like everywhere, with her posters being on every poster wall and in (magazines in) all kiosks and Moi... Lolita being played throughout the city.

It's special to realize that was the last day we were both 15 years old and it's now over 20 years later, still talking about it.
In 2000 everything was physical, not online. In Paris in August 2000 there were many large physical advertising spots with the Moi... Lolita Alizée poster.
Every few shops / kiosks / street vendors played Moi... Lolita, with someone next to it actively approaching every tourist, trying to convince them to buy the Moi... Lolita CD single then and there for the French franc equivalent of about €5/$5.

Even 20 years later Alizée's Moi... Lolita is still the 33rd best-selling single in France ever, with over 1.280.400 units sold.
Just imagine a giantic pile of over 1.280.400 physical CDs having all been sold just in France for over 6 million Euro / Dollar.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_singles_in_France

In all those years since 2000, just three songs managed to stay more weeks in the top 10 than Alizée's Moi... Lolita.

Yes I remember it was some time on Saturday April 10 this year, I am a very recent fan! In the middle of an unrelated discussion place, I stumbled on the Moi Lolita video and was instantly captivated. It feels odd to discover Alizée at this point. She gives me a feeling I never experienced with any other star.

It’s awesome when Alizée is constantly gaining new fans with old YouTube videos! A very magical achievement!:):bow:

I’m almost "an old fan" on this road, :D even though I’m only a year old fan! :)))

The obvious thing is that almost every week in the YouTube comments you see at least one new Alizée fan who went crazy! :)(: :)(:

Too bad only a small percentage of fans find their way into these discussions, like all of us!

Ps. It’s interesting to think... Which songs attract the most new fans the most, :13: probably at least JEAM, ML and LIB & Gourmandises, JPVA! :p :p :p :p

Don't remember the EXACT date and day but it was during the last week of November 2004.

This was before YouTube and what we had back then, people had video pages where they would host various videos. One day I was on one of these video pages and there was a post labeled Cute Girl. I clicked on it and that was all it took to fall for Alizée. It was the La Isla Bonita cover of Madonna.

I must have watched that video over and over for at least an hour before tearing myself away to post it on anther board, which had an international membership. I had asked if anyone knew who this girl was. About twenty minutes after posting, a chap from England chimed in and let me know that her name was Alizée and she was a French pop star.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Maybe you give us more details? As with Lefty, I discovered her through La Isla Bonita song. I was looking for a Madonna song to download "I'm hung up" and during that search I saw that image of a beautiful young lady I had never seen before. I clicked on it and was amazed, but I wasn't overly impressed because she was singing someone else's song. So I did a search for "Alizée". I clicked on Moi Lolita in Amsterdam and that was a moment that changed my life.

A couple of weeks ago, like on June 23th. Before that, I do remember having seen a gif of her perfoming the J'en Ai Marre dance, as that dance perfomance was pretty popular here in South America, specially during the apogee of the Internet when it was made more accesible for other countries; I quickly forget about it, I think, or didn't give it any second thoughts as I never saw anything about her until recently.

For me, I heard Alizée before I saw her. It was around 2001 and I heard Moi Lolita at a dance club in Paris. I really liked the hypnotic song but I didn't know who she was. Fast forward to around 2003 and I saw Alizée J'en ai marre! music video which I really liked and then started to do some detective work and found out she sang Moi Lolita and I was hooked.
