Unfortunately, she's pretty much unknown here in Germany to most people. In fact the Kate Ryan Versions of her Songs are actually more known here than Mylène's Original Versions. Real shame.

One of the things I like most about her is, that unlike Madonna for example, she is not trying to prove a point or trying to be someone else. She stays true to herself, which is important for someone who's been in this Business this long.

These two are about as mysterious as you can get. I have found very little information about them, even the most basic, such as if they have any kind of family.

I had noticed on Wiki, when looking at Mylene's discography, that Boutonnat was not part of her last few albums. I thought maybe they had a falling out of sorts, or Boutonnat wanted a break, or even Mylene wanting to do something on her own. Any insight on this?

I'm not entirely sure where Mylène lives but Paris would be my guess too. Her partner's Benoit di Sabatino since 2002. He also directed a few Videos for her over the years, they're not married as far as I know however. She doesn't have any children.

I think Mylène began to work with other Producers because she felt the need to diversify her Sound. They worked together until "Point de Suture" in 2008 and then recorded on last (at least for now) Album together, "Monkey Me", which was released in 2012. He directed the Music Video for "N'oublie Pas" in 2018 and of course they collaborated again on the Julia Project so they never really stopped working together and quite honestly I can't imagine them ever doing so. Not until either officially "retires" one day.

The aerial view shows many large homes in this area, especially as you move toward the coast. Heavily wooded so you cannot see the estates from the road, and they look to be all gated. Very private for a very private woman.

That reminds me of the bombing in England a few years ago at Ariana Grandea's concert. Over 20 people were killed and many more injured. I'm sure it's natural to think those people are dead because they came to her concert. Even though with her too, she had nothing to do with it, I'm sure she feels some level of guilt or at least a deep amount of sadness that will be slow to go away if it goes away.

It can be scary how a single decision--taking a quick trip to the store or going to a concert or to church or even just going to work or staying home could be life-altering choices. But we can't ever blame ourselves for a decision made in good conscience. Though, as you said, people still do. I guess that is human nature.

But we can't ever blame ourselves for a decision made in good conscience. Though, as you said, people still do. I guess that is human nature.

I remember years ago I had an aunt who lived about 10 miles away. Me and her 3 sons had been really close over the years doing a lot of things such as skiing, clubbing together. She didn't have much money yet she'd wouldn't hesitate to give us money so we could go out and have a good time. Several years later, she had arthritis real bad, almost to the point of being bed ridden and had either a hip or knee replaced.

As a small way of thanking her, I'd stop by the hospital and bring her a newspaper and I'd talk to her for a while just about everyday, then came Valentines day. I went down to my parents house about 45 miles away to do some work there. On the way I picked up a box of chocolates to bring to my aunt on my way home. I was pretty beat after getting that work done so I decided not to stop at the hospital.

I forget the exact details but she was taking aspirin when she wasn't supposed to or vice versa. She suffered a blood clot and passed away that night. It was sad enough that she passed away and I couldn't help but feel if I had stopped by, maybe I would have noticed something wrong.

I have zero doubt your aunt knew how much you cared about her, and I’m
certain your mom did, too. People show their caring in a thousand little ways. We might remember the specific things we do for people—or wish we had done. But in reality, what they remember is the big picture of how we treated them overall—how we made them feel when we were around. I know it’s natural to always wish we’d done more. But that’s how we’d feel no matter how much we did do.

As for the blood clot, my understanding is that they can occur very quickly with few symptoms or with symptoms that are easily mistaken for something else. If she was in the hospital when she had the blood clot, I think you can be pretty confident that if there had been noticeable symptoms they’d have detected it there.

I know it’s hard not to think maybe you could have made a difference, though. I really do empathize. My mother died suddenly, alone at home. That's a pretty good bio on Alizee's career.

One minor thing it seemed to get wrong was it said "Alizée grew up in Ajaccio, Corsica. Known to all her friends by her nickname “Lili”, Alizée began dancing early in life, and by age four was already proficient.".

The story I've heard before is she started dancing at the age of 4.

It was interesting what it said about the English version of some of her songs on MCE.

"The albums features English versions of four tracks. The translations are artistic translations rather than literal, attempting to capture the rough feeling and concepts rather than the specific words and expressions. In some cases they are “dumbed down”, lacking the clever French wordplays of the originals".

I think it was an interesting use of the term "dumbed down".

Eh no, I don’t think it’s either. The English lyrics are “dumbed down” in the sense that the French lyrics are cleverer - linguistically, there are a lot of double meanings in the French lyrics. These don’t translate to English so the English lyrics don’t have the same depth in meaning and are less fun to analyse. This is what it means about how the English lyrics lack the clever French wordplays. I might add a clarifying example if you like.

Mylene Farmer and Laurent Boutennot are really nice people , I think ! Because you see they protected and promoted the Young Alizee. So that she didn't get hung up in any of the Bad Circumstances or people which might have seemingly destroyed her ( like so many other young stars ) so that we have an adult Alizee who is now preserved to us as a Great Dancer and Singer ! I stumbled across a video by Boutennot talking about Mylene and the song Moi, Lolita and Alizee and how it became a Grand Success ! Alaas the French conversion on my PC isnot working so I cannot translate it; but maybe some of you can read it ! Apparently Laurent has a Channel now; so he has some video out there ! Apparently she had two concerts postponed in June because of the riots in France, so they will be made up in September 2024. She's not done yet.

As a writer; I take a lot of License ! And so in other places I have characterized Mylene as the Fairy Queen of the Fairies of the Field ! And made up stories about her. Thus I categorize her in Appelle Mon numero ! I say the Fairy Queen wakes Up Consults her Crystal Ball and sees that Man has messed up again ! She says My Fairies and I will have to straighten this out; but first I am so tired I must rest in Bed ! She tells her Fairies if they get in trouble to Call Her Number thus Appelle mon numero ! But according to comments somebody in India Prayed to the Fairy Queen to rescue the 41 Miners who were trapped in the mine; and so , when they were rescued they attributed it to the Fairy Queen ! So, inadvertently I may have created another Indian god ! Ha !

Mylene is Amazing, Mysterious, and produces a lot of songs and Albums and only appears when she performs at Venues. The rest of the time she Disappears; no one knows where, Perhaps the Fairy Queen's Castle; reportedly located somewhere close to Paris ? The Fairy Queen rarely gives interviews ! So as Hermione the Fairy said; when arrested by Inspector Rosseau, of the Sirte National, I cannot tell you what her address is, she doesn't have one ! How does she get mail ?, insisted Rosseau ! She Doesn't get mail ! Fairies have no need of mail ! You may end up going to the bobby-hatch, girl; if you insist you are a Fairy ! No , the number she dialed doesn't exist, there are no 30 digit numbers ,even internationally, and the equipment shows you are talking to dead air ! I think your Patrol car is missing outside , said the Queen ! ok, Ok we are going to release her, just give us back our stuff. as soon as she is across the street. Ok You may go Rosseau told Hermionie ! The Fairy went across the street, turned to look at them and then she turned away and her wings came out and she flew away fast ! Sacre Bleu said the Sergeant ! D___ said Rosseau, she was a Fairy ! How about our stuff back said Rosseau on the phone ? Their keys and badges fell on the floor and their computer and patrol car suddenly re-appeared. The phone line went dead ! How are we going to write this up said the Sergeant / we're Not, you want us to be a laughing stock. Destroy all records of the arrest and interrogation and tell the gendarme she was authorized to do what she did !

Inspector Rosseau is investigating the "animal Theft" at the lab ! He takes the tape of the woman singing to Alizee. Where were you on the night of December 30th ? Rosseau asks . I was here at home and I have witnesses ! What do you suspect me of ? Somebody emptied all of the animals out of a lab near Paris ! Don't you have video ? asks Alizee. No the video went to static and all we have is a woman singing. Let me play it for you to see if you can identify the singer ! Rosseau plays the tape. Alizee knows it is Mylene; but she doesn't tell Rosseau. I don't know who it is , she says; so many singers sound alike today and many of them try to sing like somebody else ! It could be anybody !
Well said Rosseau; I'll leave you my card and you can call me if you think of who it is ! Rosseau leaves and Alizee throws away his card . Later she sees Mylene at the store and tells her Rosseau is playing her tape; I didn't call or write you as Rosseau is undoubtedly reading my mail and tapping my phone. It is OK said Mylene; Boutennout and others will give me an alibi ! How are the kids, asked Mylene ? They are fine says Alizee; though they always ask after their Aunt Mylene ! Aunt ! Says Mylene; I never thought I'd be an Aunt !

I used to think it was Mylene who had "Discovered" Boutennout ! But I read later that He had his videos and films
and he needed a singer to sing some of his songs and so he was auditioning singers. Of Course when he heard her sing; then he knew he had found his singer and thus began their collaboration ! This was before she was Le Tremendous Star; and in his own way; Boutennot must have loved her ( at least I must think ), but I do not know the particulars but only guess; since they did a lot of collaborations !
