Because it's fun to know!

Touché.

(I hate this 10 character minimum)

She needs to communicate better with her fans. She does NOT, however, need to communicate private personal details of her life, and asking her to do that is just going to make her go more stubbornly into coquillage mode.

Okay so maybe I'm just uber eager to know what she is working on music-wise. I don't want to know what she does with her family; that would be weird and uncomfortable for everyone.

Okay so I guess a better questions relating to all this is:
"Does Alizee go to work everyday? And if so, what does she do?" I don't know who I'm asking it to though...I guess you guys hehe.

That's different. To a degree, we have a right to know that kind of thing. Or anyway, it's in her interests to keep us posted, and it would not violate her privacy.

Speaking from personal experience, though, an artist doesn't necessarily keep a schedule like 9-5 sorts. Some do. I try to spend at least four hours a day working on my writing between writing new material and polishing what I've done before. I actually spend more than that, counting just thinking or letting things ruminate. But Alizée's art is different from mine because she doesn't compose, she only performs and organizes. So she would have to connect with people, find those who will write music for her and perform with her (unless she wants to continue working with Institubes), and put together a matrix of people who will produce the finished product. Then she has to arrange studio time and get people into the studio to record tracks, as well as recording her own voice tracks of course. And there's all the stuff involved with getting it published and promoting it. A lot of that is detail that would make your eyes glaze over I imagine.

It would be good to hear from her regarding plans for the future in general, though. I feel confident that she hasn't given up on singing or she would probably say so. But what's in the works? Is the rumor true about a return to the roots (but not with Mylène)? Will she be doing something like this year's Christmas song, with a solid beat, danceable, and fun? Inquiring minds want to know. :)

I do have another suggestion for her if she happens to read this. If she wants to sing any more songs in languages other than French, the lyrics should be written by a poet who is a native speaker of that language. All of the songs written for her in English to date, including Mylène's efforts as well as Limelight, have been a bit off -- not quite right. It's not enough to be fluent in a language for purposes of poetry.

BIG AGREE. It's the only way of competing with the fluent English-speaking artists. Mylène let Moby write English lyrics for her in her latest album and it turned out quite nicely (although for only one song) - would be great to hear Alizée try something similar

I got the text that said she uploaded a new picture, so I rush to my laptop and my internet was like not working thanks to the phone company or something, FML. Almost had a panic attack

And if she can't get Moby to do it, she can always ask me. :)

I willmeether, after reading your post I looked on her blog, and it was weird, there's a picture all right but it's a gif of some blond woman lighting up a cigarette. Not Alizée herself definitely and I don't understand the connection.

Ah! There is also a picture on her FB page:

I believe the gif of the blond woman is Edie Sedgewick.

You mean this blonde woman? :D

Ha! You're right. Duh! I didn't recognize her. :o
