It's not easy.

Every day is too often. Maybe once a month. A front page should not get stale, which is why you need to change it. However, it should also give the impression of "stability" and, to a certain extent, it should establish a unique "brand".

I'd say every week, but not every day :)

The new picture is much better, but I have a hard time saying any picture of Alizée sucks...:p And yes, changing the picture every month or so would be nice, but I like it staying the same for a few weeks or so.

Nice choice, ironically I didn't even notice it until I read this thread. I barely pay attention to the home page, its either the forum, video, or chat tabs that I view.
