another thing i was surprised about was the Canadian tendency to misspell simple words like "Centre"

and milk in plastic bags - oh god that totally sucked :p

what the heck's up with that :D

1)They dont need internet, its so cold up there that they can physically freeze the internet by breathing on the telephone wires and do w/e it is they do

2)Sorry to say, thats not misspelled:p (rather its the english that misspelled Centre, and us American idiots followed the english way)

3) Plastic bags? You mean the milk in the coffee, or dairy milk?

4)Hahaha, you've been to a Canadian river, how many bugs have you swallowed?:p

Spelling is the least of life's worry, however if you misspell nearly every single word you write or type, then we have a problem.

Hwoever the hmuan mnid can raed wrods taht are cmopeltely msispleld in nrealy ervey asepct and sitll be able to raed it wthiout full prtatcipiation of knwoeldge of it.

It is because the human mind reads words as a whole and not by each letter, if only the first and last letters of a word are in their right place, the word can be completely jumbled and one can still read it easily. :)

Ah, I'd like to go to Canada... there's a festival in about a week that I'd love to go to. Sadly, I haven't got enough money. Might go to England instead. Must have some weird connection to countries where I think they speak beautifully. xD

Maybe I'll have to call in to the podcast after all. :o

What is the festival you're interested in?

Nikita 07-07-2008 09:24 AM

My mother is british and my father is from Finland, yet I live in Sweden, so I'm sort of mixed.
Got cousins and stuff over in England, but sadly I don't get over there very often.
But even so, I always get the weirdest feeling that I don't really belong in Sweden, like every other country understands me better.
Still, I'm all about dialects. I take rather big pleasure in just sitting around people listening to their conversations when I'm abroad.

It's the Festival d'Ete, in Quebec.
I'd enjoy seeing Linkin Park, but the reason I'd be going would be Silverstein, aka band of my life.

Yes, go to England, go to England, countrysides so lovely and lush, posh evergreens stand amongst the horizon, forests of endless magic and splendid wonder.

Sounds like me, my mother's French and my father's from Indonesia :D
But yeah, totally go to England, I mean, I lived there most my life and i'm not completely messed up as everyone assumes me to be.
