Favorite song on En Concert?
Ok, so, we have polls for favorite moments and performances from the En Concert DVD, but this poll is for your favorite song off the cd. That means no L'e'ail À Des Ailes, no J'ai Pas Vingt Ans, no JPVA remix, no full length Moi... Lolita, no full length Mon Maquis, no full length Gourmandises, no full length J'en Ai Marre, no full length C'est Trop Tard. Do not let dances, outfits, facial expressions, fan made signs (you know the one!), or anything non-audio affect you decision. Just, which song sounds best from the cd? Whether you like it because it is drastically different from the studio version, or because it clings tightly to it, or whatever. And sorry, wasabi, I don't count unoffcial content!

You talking about the music CD or what?
Cuz J'ai pas vingt ans is definitely on there.. |
JPVA is not on the audio cd. Nor is LEMADA

Ah, okay, because for En Concert, it comes with both just the audio and the DVD.
Though I don't get why J'ai Pas Vingt Ans doesn't count!! What I did is basically what they did to all the other songs on the album! |
For me, hands down, without question, it's C'est Trop Tard.
Especially in the first two albums, this is the closest Alizée has to a really angry song. The album version is just too soft. The concert version, with the guitars, and a little more shouting into the mic has just a little more grit, a little more edge... which it should given what the song is about. For me it is the quintessential song which is definitively better En Concert than on the original album. |
I am a true MUTHUH?
This is like King Solomon asking me which half of the baby I want!
You guys can have the WHOLE virtual "CD." as long as you promise to play ALL the tracks! Sniffle. |
Actually, wasabi, they recorded the song from one performance. Let's use A Contre-courant as an example. The song was all recorded at once, including the encore. But the video footage on the dvd was recorded from multiple performances. If you watch when she goes into the crowd, it is clear that these are at least two different shows, judging by the shape of the guard rails. One crowd is right up against the stage, while another is a few feet from it. Basically, they used the best sounding audio, then layered and synced it over the best different bits of video. Most footage was from one concert, by looking at crowd members, but using footage from seperate shows is a common technique in dvds like this. But there are examples where this is not done, such as 'Rihanna Good Girl Gone Bad', another concert dvd I own. They did use the same audo tracks from the Alizée dvd on the cd, but they were edited for time constraints on the cd. Like I said, I only count official songs. Not user recorded JPVA.

I voted for Lui ou Toi.

Decisions, decisions
Do we have to really pick one? The more I listen to it the more I am liking Tempête. But, really, the whole doggone audio cd/video dvd is worth listening/watching over and over and over and....

I agree. It can be very hard. But If I made the poll multichoice, everyone would click everything!
