Locations for Alizee Concert

Everytime i go to a theatre or outdoor event i wonder about Alizee performing there

i just went to the Strathmore Theatre in Rockville, MD (i'm currently in D.C.) and i was amazed

http://www.strathmore.org/

the glass panels on the ceiling actually move to enhance the sound

the theatre holds around 1,900

there is an outdoor location next to the building where Alizee could easily hold a concert in the summer

edit: they do all types of music there i.e. hip hop to classical :p

the metro is literally two blocks away so you guys could fly into Washington National and take the metro (about 30 minutes)

you guys have any great locations you think would be ideal for Alizee?

TheBarrett 07-23-2008 09:33 PM

Doesn't seem like a cool place to stage dive. I say she go to the O2 Arena, or Radio City Music Hall. :D

Paulina 07-23-2008 10:01 PM

I like when concerts are open outside :) It feels so free.

Amigo! 07-23-2008 11:37 PM

The Fillmore in San Francisco ;)

I went to see Santana there in May

Standing room only. Not that anyone here could sit through Lili's concerts
anyway, so why would we need seats? :p

Wow, that's pretty kickin' tbailey! :D

I'm going to check out that site ...

Toc De Mac 07-24-2008 03:16 PM

It's a pretty neat program, but it kept insisting that I had more than 15 images when I had exactly 15. Oh well, I'm going to remix it. :D

Here is Attempt #1:

espire 07-24-2008 04:17 PM

Is there anything about these locations, though, that makes them well suited for Alizée specifically, and not just well suited for concerts in general? They are concert halls, after all.

Though I did once visit a cave in Constantinople that would be just perfect for an Alizée concert.

you might want to consider things like:

1. location (metro is right there - major metropolitan area i.e. D.C. - lots of AAm fans live on the east coast)

2. size (1,900 - i think Alizee could sell this out)

3. how easy would it be for Alizee to perform there (what's the competition for the venue? - at the Strathmore the competition wouldn't be as high as say Radio Music Hall)

4. option of an outdoor location if desired

5. demographics - D.C. is extremely diverse ethnically/culturally/racially...
people would be more open to a French singer here - trust me

6. how nice the music hall is - i'm not an expert but the Strathmore seems to be state of the art and rather aesthetically pleasing

7. not located in Canada where nobody lives :p

is that enough for you espire?

edit:

Toc De Mac - wow those are great
i think i prefer yours b/c the pics go slower - it has a better affect

i think i'm going to try a full length video soon - i'm going to attempt to buy a camera and start doing my own videos

but time is ticking - i have a month or so before school starts

Most of those still apply to any performer :p

You do have one and a half up there that I'll warrant are acceptable, but then you made a mistake in throwing number 7 out there. Quebec would be much more accepting of Alizée, even more than Washington when you count all the American Lilifans ;)

outlaw 07-24-2008 04:52 PM

wow dat be a toughie!

america has many diverse great locations for a foreign singer. jus trying 2 pick only 1 is like saying who u favor most out of ur loved ones, sum1s gonna feel rejected.

we all really need 2 study each location seriously and thoroughly and come out with a neutral answer thatll benefit not only alizee but us.

but if it were me i'd go chicago home of the great michael jordan and dem..other..dudes.

Haha, I was just thinking how I still prefer yours. :p

The music you chose and the tempo/choice of pictures makes for an "upcoming star" atmosphere.

I don't care where in the US she performs, I'll be there in the front row! Even if I have to sell a kidney!

tbailey 07-25-2008 01:14 AM

so no ideal concert locations you guys have in mind :(

here's an extend version of a potential promotional video

selling your kidney probably can afford you to fly to paris to watch the concert.:D

Meh, too impersonal. And being more realistic:

http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/4...b26faacfo2.jpg

In Times Square, capacity around 1,000. The Nokia Theater down the block is an option too, but I prefer the interior here. It's classy and more intimate. Not to mention historic. Definitely my top choice in NYC.

Figuring my luck, and how getting tickets in this country works, either a less-than-scrupulous fan or a scalping company will be my only way of getting a front row ticket. Either way, I expect extreme price gouging. Plus, by the time she gets over here, who knows how bad the economy will be?

outlaw 07-25-2008 10:16 AM

new york?!

why not just throw the poor kid in with a pack of lions @ the zoo? its overrated, gots the rudest people and critics in the world, i strongly strongly object 2 new york. were trying to IMPRESS alizee not scare her off.

But then again it has the nicest people and has alot of sights to see. Just a great tourist attraction for foreigners. See? She gets things out of her trip and so do we. Concert for us. Sights to see for her...

Correction: Statue of Liberty. Think thats a sight for her to see since France did give it to us as a present?

Amigo! 07-25-2008 12:03 PM

This thread is funny :p

Sort of like a tug of war between cities.

Even though in the end, If she does come to the U.S. It probably wont be up to us where she goes anyways lol. :D

Just keepin' it real ;)

It is funny, but lucky I have no part of this. I don't belong to any US city. :p
I'll be there though, but in the end, her big bosses/herself will choose where they want to go by looking at the mass concentration of fans, and that is something we can change, where we want to make a concentrate of fans. :)

nurvonic 07-25-2008 06:44 PM

im not trying to be biased just because i live in florida *cough*, but it seems like florida would be the more ideal place. if you look at states that are really popular around the world, you get new york, florida, california...maybe texas? of those four, it seems florida would be a little bit more welcoming, not the hussle and bussle of new york, or the gayness of the san francisco area, and definately not the shitting pot that is LA. i say orlando should definately be taken into consideration if she were to come here, maybe even miami or tampa. and even better, jacksonville! would only be a few miles drive for me if she came to jacksonville. but as long as its in florida, i would definately have to take a road trip. but if not, if she wants to go to those other hell holes you call 'cities', then so be it. ill have to buy the plane ticket.

as for locations in jacksonville, the times union center downtown would be perfect.

outlaw 07-25-2008 06:49 PM

well..gots a point.

only bout the statue of liberty though, we owe her that anyway. think she'd wanna see the statue of her ancestors and the symbol that meant even more 2 us since the september 11th attacks. :)

NarutoSoul 07-25-2008 06:59 PM

As much as I would love for her to come to Florida, I am willing to go anywhere in the US to see her. Well, I'm willing to go ANYWHERE to see her, but my financial ability to travel is restricted to the US... *sigh* LILI, WE NEED YOU HERE!!! :(

TheBarrett 07-25-2008 07:03 PM

I don't see why she can't go to more than, one?

If we get concentration in places we desire, then she'll strike them all!

Let's be optimistic here! :p

tbailey 07-25-2008 07:03 PM

please lets try to keep away from disrepecting other locations

i did with a jab at the Canadians earlier - i apologize

i don't want this thread to become a competition/venue for expressing a dislike for a certain region

lets just give Alizee a plethora of ideal locations (if she ever looks at this thread) :D

we can use this thread as advertisement - include pics and links to the music hall/threatre if you so desire - so Alizee can have easy access

then she can choose among all the great places
thanks

There's can be no apology, just as there could not be one in 1812. For your acts of insolence, us Canadians will retaliate by doing what we know how to do best -- by burning the White House down! :D

Note: This post was not meant to be a serious one. I do not actually condone the burning of the White House, nor do I condone any acts of terrorism against any nation. Canadians are not actually very good at burning the White House down; We only did it once, and we were not even able to demolish it entirely. Other conditions may apply.

Yeah, this is supposed to be about specific venues anyway, right? Not whole cities. MSG vs. BB King, for example, as opposed to NY vs. LA or whatever. But I'll focus on New York since that's what I'm most familiar with. ;)

Oh that, heh, I hardly care about military or historical problems back then, i'm happy now, because it's the Alizée era. :D

yup Snatcher42

here's another option
"Top of the Park" every summer in Ann Arbor

hah - i found the page for musical applicants - imagine a major RCA artist applying :D

a summer event lasting about a month - starting late June i think
Alizee would definitely be the talk of the town and biggest musical event :D

If she were to come to Florida i think she would come to Orlando, they have 2 concert halls,House Of Blues and Hard Rock Live witch both hold around 3,000 people.

NarutoSoul 07-26-2008 01:42 AM

And with Disney World being in Orlando, she could expand her Tinkerbell collection.

well, he didnt really specify this, but i guess posting pictures of venues like he did in the first post suggested this. but what does it matter anyway? we're talking about locations in the USA. whether it be a specific city or venue, i could care a less as long as it means alizee is coming to america.
